fjoy have made a massive design change to the brand new Hyperflex golf shoes that have improved one of the only criticisms that I had of the previous version can you spot what the difference is from here now with the Hyperflex Foot Joy I tried to make a shoe that is both very comfortable as well as very stable out on the course and that is no easy trick to pull off so have FootJoy actually managed it with these new design updates in this review I’m going to run through how these shoes fit feel and perform out on the course they currently retail here in the UK for $170 and $180 in the US and in terms of the looks and design this is a very athletic sporty looking pair of Spiked golf shoes they actually don’t look too dissimilar from their previous versions at least from a silhouette standpoint but if you take a closer look you can see that Fjoy have completely redesigned the upper of the new Hyperflex because previously they were using this one piece booty construction there was no separate tongue element to this shoe it was just all one piece with this collar here whereas in the new version they’ve switched to a more traditional styling and now the tongue is separate from the upper now for me I think Fujo have done this for two reasons firstly in terms of the fit you can get it more how you like it when the tongue is separate from the side walls of the shoe but I think more importantly the reason for the change is because in my original review of the Hyperflex I commented that this upper section quickly discolored with the new version now you have got the same upper material going right the way around this ankle and heel section in terms of the fit these shoes feel very similar to that previous version when I tried them on side by side I couldn’t really notice too much of a difference in terms of sizing as with the majority of FJ joys I would recommend going down half a size to what you may consider your regular shoe size so in terms of length I’d say that these fit pretty much the same as every pair of FootJoys that I’ve tried they are quite a narrow shoe they have got a particularly narrow heel so that’s not a problem for me because I have got quite a narrow foot but if you do have a wider foot then here in the UK they offer a wide fit version and in the US they offer both a wide and extra wide versions in terms of the feel these remain a very comfortable pair of golf shoes both in terms of the upper and the fit as well as the softness underfoot and how they feel when you’re out walking on the course the upper itself is actually a knitted upper and then it has this coating on the top to help with waterproofness as well as making it easier to clean and I have done my full waterproof test on these shoes so I’ll share the results of that shortly it does seem that Fjoy have reinforced the toe area here with this strip it’s just slightly firmer here giving it a little bit more stability and a little bit more firmness around that toe area underfoot Fjoy are still using their Strata foam midsole as well as a strata foam insert and this means you are getting a very soft feeling underfoot when you combine that with the I think it’s called the Optiflex outsole so you can see here that the outsole has got specific cuts out of it it means that it’s designed to naturally bend with your foot and to be honest I find walking the course in these a really nice experience these are extremely comfortable shoes both in terms of the fit the softness under foot as well as with the way the shoe works with you when you’re out walking the course one thing worth noting with the fit is that I did find that the upper does feel like it comes up a fraction higher around the ankles compared to other shoes in the Fjoy lineup now I need to be clear that it wasn’t uncomfortable i didn’t get any blisters or any rubbing with these shoes and I walked 18 holes straight out of the box one other thing to note with the upper is that it does feel perhaps a little bit thicker compared to other golf shoes available so it means that you haven’t necessarily got loads of room above your toes this is quite a snug fit and this shoe is really trying to lock you in it if you are finding this video helpful please tap the like and subscribe buttons and if you are looking for a new pair of golf shoes or maybe any other golf tech then make sure you sign up to my free monthly golf deals newsletter i share all the best deals I find online every month and you can find the link to subscribe down in the description below i did my full waterproof test with these shoes so I poured 300 ml of water right over both the upper on the toe as well as across the bottom of the tongue section and you can see here that these shoes let in no water whatsoever fjoy have updated the power plate here so you can see that TPU section underfoot and you can see you’ve got the harnesses on both the lateral and the medial sides of the shoes really help to improve the stability and help harness the power that you are getting from the ground during your golf swing these are offering you some premium levels of stability out on the course and the same goes for traction as well you’re getting more than enough grip from those six spikes as well as the extra little kind of spikes and ridges that you’ve got on that Optiflex outsole but most of your traction is coming from those spikes and I’m pleased to say that I didn’t slip once when out testing these shoes in the UK winter conditions so would I recommend these golf shoes absolutely I would i’m really impressed with the Hyperflex i think Fjoy have done a really good job of taking the previous version which was already a good golf shoe and then really making some significant improvements to the design this is a great golf shoe in my opinion it does a great job of providing some serious comfort as well as some serious performance which is why I think you’re going to see quite a few pros wearing these out on the professional tours if you’re wondering what else you should be considering for the similar kind of price tag then I definitely recommend checking out the Painter 87 SC golf shoes they are more expensive coming in at around £200 but again they are a pair of shoes that are really focusing on both comfort as well as performance and they perhaps don’t quite have such a sporty design as the Hyperflex does right here so I’ve included a full review of those shoes right here and don’t forget to tap the like and subscribe buttons if you found this video helpful

Its time for the new season!
They look good, being FJ they will be comfortable, big thumbs up from me
Great review! Any comments on breathability? My feet get super hot during the summer and finding a somewhat waterproof yet very breathable golf shoe has been tough! Unfortunately, the two really don't go hand in hand.
Nice looking Hamilton on the wrist! Great review!
Deciding between the Payntr and the Hyperflex carbon 🤔
They run a half size big. I had to downsize.
