CM Punk, John Cena and Jey Uso lost?! WWE Raw Recap 6.9.25

Well….tonight’s episode of Raw took us on quite the roller coaster huh? The June 9th episode of Raw saw a new World Heavyweight Champion crowned and the first round of qualifiers for the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. The road to Night of Champions is now set and if this is how things will go…..we should buckle up! It’s gonna be a bumpy ride!

we have not done a Raw recap in a while and after that Raw I definitely feel like it’s needed if you have not watched it already I talked a lot about what I expected to happen with Jay Uso versus Gunther in my Money in the Bank predictions video that actually just went live about 30 45 minutes ago and um none of it valid in regards to Seth Rollins Jay Uso and Gunther because Seth Rollins was not a factor in this championship match like I thought there was no Seth Rollins there was no Money in the Bank briefcase there was no Roman Reigns there was just Jay Uso and Gunther and Jay Uso is no longer our world heavyweight champion once again it is Gunther i’m shook i am genuinely shocked y’all what I will say is there were a lot of rumors and spoilers and all of these ideas all day long saying that Jay Uso may be dropping the World Heavyweight Championship i’ve mentioned previously that the rumor is that Jay Uso’s ribs are injured and with how heavily taped they were that may not just be a kayab injury but a real life injury if that is the case I hope Jay Uso gets well and gets back in the ring very quickly however it still does not change the fact that Gunther put Jay to sleep and the worst part is that Jace his son his baby was right there every time y’all that is sick so I believe it was either 51 or 52 days now officially that Jay Uso was world heavyweight champion i genuinely thought he would make it to SummerSlam i genuinely truly did not expect a loss tonight unless the briefcase was involved and Hunter said “Y’all don’t know what the hell y’all talking about here’s a curveball.” I would like to hope that this was not just because there’s the rumor that we’re going to get Gunther and Goldberg at Saturday Night Main Event and that they feel the need to make that a championship match because it doesn’t need to be it doesn’t need to happen anyway because if we take that away I can get Evolution back on Saturday and then I can see Evolution Saturday Beyonce Sunday but I digress either way I’m very shocked i’m very surprised i’m one of those people who nervous last because like huh y’all I’m genuinely befuddled flabbergasted i just cannot believe that Jay Uso lost that title tonight and especially because there was no briefcase involvement the only time we even saw Seth Rollins was at the beginning of the show when John Cena came out and was going on a rant against Truth and how the fans don’t know nothing and we didn’t do anything to bring Truth back blah blah blah shut up um I was really hoping to see Truth come out and confront him and instead we got CM Punk who basically called Cena out and said “I want a match if you feeling froggy junk.” because he wanted that match tonight at Raw in Phoenix Arizona of course John Cena said no if I’m correct and if I’m not I’ll fix it in the editing john Cena now has 19 days left until he officially hangs up his jorts forever and he couldn’t just go ahead and one and done CM Punk you can’t do that to CM Punk and so he laid the gauntlet down and mentioned that if CM Punk wanted that title shot that CM Punk will pull up to Saudi Arabia at Night of Champions i am not going to make a big deal out of that at all because that’s not my ministry i was not a CM Punk fan back then when all of his Saudi Arabia stuff was going on so I don’t know the full story or the full context of it what I do know however is that Adam Pierce made it official and our first confirmed match for Night of Champions will be CM Punk versus John Cena for the WWE Undisputed title i would love to say that I think CM Punk is going to pull off a win i just don’t necessarily know if I see anyone but Cody Rhodess taking that title off of John i I wish I could say I did i’m just not sure we also have the official brackets for the King and Queen of the Ring matches that end with the finals in Saudi Arabia at Night of Champions as well our first qualifier match saw Liv Morgan Roxanne Perez Ki Sain and Ria Ripley all battling it out to see which woman would move on to the semifinals and in the end it was Roxanne Perez now Miss Roxy has been on quite a streak this year in 2025 if I am correct she was the iron woman of the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble and I believe she broke the record for longest time in a Royal Rumble kudos to her roxy also managed to qualify for Elimination Chamber and won a spot there and she just finished up in Money in the Bank talk about a rookie year like I understand she’s not winning but man if they are not making it very clear exactly where they see Roxanne Perez ending up for them she’s going to be a champion when who knows i’m not necessarily hard up for her to get there because I want the chance for her to get very acclimated to the main roster get situated get herself comfortable and then get that title so that we don’t rush it and fans try to turn because we all know how that goes one of my favorite parts of this match however was Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez working together now in a backstage segment before the show when Roxan originally suggested it Liv was very much not feeling it liv pretty much said “Mm- I got my own back.” And they ended up teaming up and they were really good together it does not surprise me but man I would rather see that tag team you know like I think they would make an amazing tag team together if they could just put aside their differences however I don’t see that happening anytime soon since Roxan really won off of pin while Ki was trying to pin Liv and Liv is probably taking that very personal and I’m going to take that probably back she’s definitely taking it very personal because in another segment backstage Finn Balor’s little Missy Boots tail got dumb to congratulate Roxan Perez and Li Morgan was right there and she didn’t really like it next week on Raw for our Queen of the Ring qualifying match we get a returning Asuka Raquel Rodriguez Ivy Nyle and Stephanie Ver all battling it out to see which one of them will take on the winner of the qualifying match from the Smackdown roster as for the men’s King of the Ring tournament one thing I can tell you is that there is no Jimmy Uso there i’m not going to go into my rant because I’m trying to keep this video short sweet simple to the point but I’m watching y’all i I am very closely watching y’all okay give Jimmy a chance i’m begging at this point please on Raw tonight though we saw Dominic Mysterio Penta Brun Breaker and Sami Zayn all battling it out and right as Bronn Breaker thought he had the match won LA Knight jumped out and attacked him now granted LA Knight has every reason considering Brun Breaker is part of the reason why LA Knight could not win Money in the Bank this past Saturday i was just shocked to see him i just I didn’t expect it i’m interested i’m interested because I’ve always said I don’t dislike LA Night i just would really love a compelling story with him that I can sink my teeth into and I haven’t really felt that and I’m hoping that this storyline he may be potentially entering with Brun and Seth and Bronson more than likely also this will be the one this will be the one that gets me behind him so that whenever he does become a world champion I’m fully in support of it however at the end it was Sami Zayn who moved on to the semi-finals and gets to continue on his journey of possibly becoming king of the ring my girl Nikki Bella returned tonight and I’m quite excited even though I’m still slightly confused on what was going on with her and Liv um Nikki was out there naming names i’m not going to get into that neither because yeah Nikki was out there naming names of the current women’s roster and saying how proud the divas of the past are of these women because not only did they take the baton that the Divas had but they [ __ ] took off running with it and they have not stopped yet liv Morgan took offense to not being named individually and pretty much told Nikki that she was jealous because not only was Liv a champion but she had a man and wasn’t just a reality star like Nikki but Nikki wasn’t just taking that because she pointed out that is Dominic really your man or is he Roxan nikki made a very big mistake and I’m going to fully blame this on Ring Rust and Nikki not being around a women’s division for so long because as she turned her back and attempted to get back into the ring she got hit with an oblivion and was laid out now this can go one of two ways either we’ll get Liv versus Nikki at Evolution 2101 which I really hope is not the case or we’ll get Liv and Raquel versus the Bella Twins for the women’s tag team championships at Evolution 2 i’m more in favor of that because I want to see those tag team titles defended i want to see them be as prestigious as they should be y’all know how I feel about the tag divisions and the midcart i just want to see them give that more i need more from those divisions and I’m hoping that we can get that in that match with the Bella Twins now when it comes to who’s winning who’s losing I’m not there yet i need to see how this story plays out and if we do really get that Brie Mode sound playing to finish off we did get an appearance from Rur Truth who fully supported the idea that the fans are the only reason that he is back within the WWE he let us know that it is our voices being heard that it was us demanding we want truth that brought truth back but he’s not truth because truth is too forgiving truth is too nice but not Ron killings ron killings works on fo time and if you don’t know what that is let’s [ __ ] around and find out and I do think John Cena will [ __ ] around and find out who Ron Killings really is i am hoping and praying that that is something but a stipulation whenever we get to that point i don’t want just a regular match i want y’all to be able to see just how crazy Brun Killings really is in ring just how crazy and unhinged that man really can be that’s what I want because only an unhinged man just randomly pulls out scissors and starts cutting his hair on live television while standing on an announced dead now personally I loved it whatever they are planning to do with Ron Killings I am 100% behind it and I will be getting at least two of those new shirts they dropped for him because I don’t know if y’all seen it but those shirts are fire okay they are fire need them so
