An easy way to prevent the wrists from breaking down during the stroke is to use the lead thumb as a brace against the trail hand.

The lead wrist is rotated counter-clockwise to a soft end range so that the lead thumb points across the top of the putter grip, rather than straight down the top. The lead thumb rests against the thumb pad of the trail hand to provide stability.

There should be no discomfort when rotating the lead wrist counter-clockwise to a soft end range.

This grip can be used to improve stability of a traditional putting grip, and can be used with a straight-back straight-through or arc type stroke.
