hello my fellow golf ball addicts thank you for patiently waiting we have three reviews that a variety of you have been asking for for a very long time it is the Battle of the Bucka Ball we have the Precept Latty we have the Wilson Zip and we have the Wilson Boost three golf balls that are all a dollar a piece or around a dollar a piece that have had significant impact on this channel and have been in the top 10 of our top 100 at one time or another really significant a lot of you play them i know you want to see how the updated reviews are let’s dive right in before we get started guys thank you so much for liking commenting subscribing i appreciate you making this channel successful so much i wouldn’t be here without you guys and I can’t wait to see how far we go uh please like I said you know like comment it helps the algorithm out a ton and if you want to donate you know a dollar a month or something we do have a membership as well it just starts at a dollar a month but you can do more than that if you want that helps the channel out a lot too so thank you so much so all three of these golf balls they’re two-piece sciometer you know cheap Walmart golf balls and a lot of people would normally come to this channel and be like there’s no use for these golf balls but like I said all of them have been in our top 10 at one time or another and that’s significant and there’s a reason for that because one the value dollar per golf ball or around a dollar golf ball uh but they also had to test well because the performance is the most important part and they had to have a really good test now obviously some of these golf balls were tested four years ago three years ago two years ago so a lot’s changed since then you know my swing’s got different now you know my swing’s gotten better i’ve tightened up a lot of screws the process is different different clubs different launch monitor different you know four years ago I had you know 20 subscribers and I was hitting into a net over here on the side by the putting green things are different now and so now I want to take these golf balls that have changed a lot of your guys’ golf you know game but also how you view golf balls and I want to compare them side by side in a performance let’s do it so like I said two-piece ometer all cheap all around a dollar golf ball let’s start with the Precept Latty this is made by Bridgestone fun little fact this actually used to be a ladies ball back in the day but it was so well performing that men started using it and then there was kind of an issue where it was like “Hey we we want to play this but why are you calling it a lady ball?” So they called it the laddy instead and ever since then it’s had the same design since 2017 because if it ain’t broke don’t fix it but let’s go ahead and take a look at this real quick if you look at the front there Precept it just says Precept it’s the most basic vanilla and this has been my main issue with the Precept Lady for years have some type of design you know it’s such a boring bland you know logo and number if you come on the side here I will admit that this Latty X is unique and when I see it I know it immediately but it’s not a good alignment tool if I hold this up you really can’t see what you’re lining up it’s not great um you know it is what it is and I think that a lot of people on the channel have agreed that that’s the main knock against the Latty a lot of you really love the performance but it doesn’t come in a yellow it doesn’t come in anything else it’s such a bland design you see this on the course and you think uh cheap old ball and you just toss it aside i wish that was a little better but it is what it is then we move into the Wilson Zip right another two-piece golf ball that at one time was you know probably the first real golf ball that started to change minds on this channel looking at the front here Wilson staff you know I it’s such a basic design i wish they would use a different Wilson logo i wish they would you know use their more modern or maybe the crust or something it’s a very bland then you come over here on the side and it just says zip and I don’t like that alignment tool because of the lettering in the middle again it’s really hard it doesn’t come in a yellow it’s just this is a bland design just because your golf balls are a dollar golf ball doesn’t mean you can’t have a decent design or have some options you know what I mean so it’s a little disappointing there but this is actually the most expensive of the three then we get into last year’s phenomena which was just crazy the Wilson Boost they came out with a new model $10 a dozen at Walmart $9 like 82 or something like that i mean legit under $10 for a dozen uh we got it we didn’t know how it was it ended up as number three on our top 100 it’s legit so I’m interested to see if this one still performs well but we get in here we look at the front there it says Wilson it’s a very basic design but this one is a little more modern i do like the black and blue it’s not bad it is definitely the best of the three and then it actually kind of has a little bit of a shine to it which is nice too it does feel like cheap plastic don’t get me wrong it’s the cheapest plastic you can get but if we come over here on the side this one has the best alignment tool as well it’s a nice thick blue line not as thick as it could be but it says boost but here’s the thing guys if I hold that up you can at least see it and so this one definitely wins when it comes to the design portion just because the precept and the zip are just so bland you know what I mean like oh my goodness it’s like macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes without salt like okay you you have potential here but I mean goodness gracious so it is what it is i wish they would change those but let’s go ahead and get out to the chipping and putting green and let’s see how we do around there all right we’ll start with the prepped latty nice high launch very soft very squishy you know almost a complete roll out there was no checkup at all very nice love it get in the hole oh beautiful excellent yeah I love that all right next up the zip uh yeah again that actually might be less spin i mean that might be zero spin now that wasn’t hip pure so we’ll try it again again a very soft marshmallowy feel little fat okay there was a little bit of checkup on that so that’s not terrible let’s run it back okay so the Zip has some checkup not like the Preip the Preip just has a nice forgiving roll uh but this zip actually does have at least a little bit of checkup one more time here yeah i mean you can see the bass effect it’s got rotation it’s not a ton but it’s definitely there both golf balls feel very soft marshmallowy easy to hit very forgiving nice high launch you know everything you’d expect last but not least we have the Boost not a lot of rotation on that one for sure this one actually doesn’t have as marshmallowy as a feel it’s more like a It’s soft for sure but it’s not bouncy ball or marshmallow wow yeah that ball does not have a lot of spring to it that one was the same you know distance control that I had for the other two but as you can see it’s like well short so you got to put a lot more on the boost for sure let me try there we go high launch beautiful not a ton of rotation but a little bit there not bad that was pretty forgiving there we go all right there’s not a lot to talk about when it comes with the wedge play with these golf balls they’re all very soft they’re all very squishy the Boost isn’t quite as squishy but it’s close it’s the firmst of the three but we’re talking like on a scale of 1 to 10 one being very soft uh the boost is like a two and the other ones are one so they’re all really soft um they all just have this really like marshmallow type thing there’s not a lot of feedback in the hands um the Zip did have a little bit of pullback i would call that one like 20% 15% somewhere in there the other two the Precept is extremely forgiving it’s just going to go right on the line that’s going to be for beginner golfers or golfers who are just not good at chipping and they need a nice consistent roll to the hole it was extremely forgiving and extremely easy to hit the ball so that’s that’s all it is you know what I’m saying it’s like 5% spin if that um then you get to the boost again like 5% not a lot it’s a very forgiving golf ball but not as forgiving as the Precept it was a little trickier for me to get a feel for that one but let’s get to the putting and let’s see how they roll yeah when you stare at all three of these golf balls out here boy the designs are pretty vanilla you know and there’s not a The Boost has an alignment tool that’s okay but the rest of them are just eh so I’m not even going to bother with it let’s see how the feel [Applause] is not bad there was a little bit of chug effect there of course um you know I felt the drag for sure uh it definitely had a small click but very very low very muted it’s not loud uh let’s try one more time here not a bad roll there boy I don’t like the feel i really don’t uh the feel is a little firm a little heavy and for being a ball like this I thought it would have more bouncy ball effect so one more time here now that’s nice when you hit it square it does have a nice little crisp click which is nice but everything else it’s just okay you know it passes but it’s it’s not my cup of tea oh so much chug effect i mean not bad i mean on the cusp but a lot of chug effect there and that was a good strike i really was happy about that one again really clean crisp hit and it just I pulled it a little bit but a lot of chug effect there not a great true roll not a great swing that wasn’t bad you know I hit that one there wasn’t as much chug effect um it’s very it’s like a little tiny tiny firm press as far as the feel um it is dead in the hands though um there’s like a low muted sound it’s just just kind of boring you know what I mean there’s just nothing really exciting about it and I get it it’s a dollar golf ball but still you know there are golf balls that are inexpensive that have had a little more pop a little more sizzle not the case here that one came off pretty good yeah it’s not bad distance control is just okay i mean it’s either you know if you mish hit it it’s not as forgiving as I thought it would be so that’s kind of strange now we got the boost okay not bad little firmer not bad actually had I mean a tiny bit of chug effect but not bad that’s actually the firmst of the three you can tell yeah definitely the best roll of the three is on the boost for sure you know feel it does have a little tiny tiny one out of 10 crisp crisp click um but feel is just again dead all three of these golf balls just don’t really have any feedback in the hands at least with the mallet putter okay now that was nice again if you if you pure it it’s it’s okay it’s pretty good i’d call it like you know solid three out of five you know if you pure it anything outside of a pure is just kind of you know but it’s not bad all right blade putter now we got of course the precept again not bad had a little tiny bit of chug but it was still good for the most part definitely a louder click i did not realize the precept was going to be this loud i mean I know it’s a blade putter but still oh yeah i mean that’s And you mish hit it and there’s a lot of chug that sound is definitely louder than I thought it would be it’s not necessarily super loud but it reminds me of like an X model golf ball like maybe not a traditional X model golf ball but like a modern one you know and so that’s kind of interesting okay nice little feel there i like that you can finally feel it in the hands a little bit and it’s not bad but the chug effect for that zip has just been terrible through the first couple of hits here via mallet via uh this one you know the blade it’s just not been good with the roll you know it’s just so hit and miss and it’s just so inconsistent and I know you can say “Oh yeah well your your swing is inconsistent.” But you know other golf balls just don’t test like that so that’s a little disappointing there i do like the feel of it though so far that’s the best feeling I’ve gotten out of any of them so and it’s just solid nice again that That’s the best feeling one right there really good nice little crisp little feeling in the hands nice firm press that’s good let me see if I can get the roll a little bit better yeah not bad you know that one’s consistent the boost is the most consistent whether you’re using a mallet or whether you’re using a blade it’s definitely my favorite of the three it is firmer you can tell um it’s got just a slight little click but it’s a crispy click which I like the other ones you know not so much there just isn’t a lot of pizzazz out here you know what I mean and so obviously if you’re not paying a lot you know if you pay $2 or $3 a golf ball opposed to a dollar golf ball you might get some sizzle but I don’t know it’s okay let’s get to the sound and feel starting with the lad okay so mit ouch off the toe i definitely felt it so it’s not an extremely soft golf ball by any means i mean it definitely has at least a little firmness to it all right so that was a nice hit very crispy uh that felt really really good it actually did kind of have a click it was a little louder than I thought it would be but like I said I kind of experienced that over there too so um it’s a really great feeling though i mean it it is it’s a really nice feeling i would call it a four probably out of five it’s not perfect i don’t want to flood the market with five out of fives but it’s really good i like it a lot uh m hits are just okay on the feeling i’ll give it a three to be nice um but it is on that line where it’s getting close to a two uh one more for good measure just want to hit another one and see yeah there’s a lot of power behind that ball that’s really nice definitely a four out of five and then like I said three out of five on the mishit now we got the zip little tiny bit of a mishit and again it does feel a little firmer than I thought it would it’s uh it’s definitely softer than the Precept but you know not a great feeling i’d call that probably a three again it’s close to a two though h I know my swing ain’t great you’ll have to forgive me i’ve played 18 holes today tested a golf ball so I’m at oh goodness 200 swings for the day so I am whooped but um yeah I’m not a big fan of how that feels that’s a three out of five on pure hit i’m actually going to downgrade it to a two out of five on offc center hits yeah I mean that’s off the toe and that’s one of the best hits I’ve seen so far uh that’s a four out of five as far as you know a mit that’s a great mit feel maybe it’s a three and a half i bump it up to a four but that’s good i’m going to try to pure one now [Applause] a lot of power behind that golf ball i want a couple more really good i can’t quite call it a five out of five but it is a four out of four on both misit and pure hit so not bad i mean when it comes to the feel you know there’s nothing here to really highlight but the Boost definitely wins out of all three precept is a close second it’s not bad um the Zip is just kind of eh you know I haven’t seen anything from the Zip so far that really impresses me i hope the numbers are good cuz everything else has just kind of been mediocre so far but we’ll see uh the other two like I said really good as far as in the hands not a lot of feedback sound was a little heavier on the Latty than I thought it would be but um you know that could actually work out in its favor so we’ll see let’s get to these numbers all right so not the greatest green side test uh and also really you know sound and feels just okay but let’s be honest at a dollar a golf ball under a dollar a golf ball you know the performance is going to be the meat and potatoes it’s going to be the entree that’s what y’all are really interested in so without further ado we’re going to start with the 50 yard pitch let’s dive into that backspin RPM we are looking at 6,884 6,535 7,787 so as you can see the Wilson Boost you know even though all three of those are low the Wilson Boost actually does kind of hold its own i mean for under you know a dollar a golf ball that’s actually got some ripback that’s actually going to at least bounce and come to a stop on the green the other two not so much the Wilson Zip is the really weird one there now again I included the launch angle in there because look at the Wilson zip launch that is nuts that’s insane almost every single ball went over the net which is just crazy i mean I’m getting 3940 launch you know alternating with the zip and I mean my average is like 31 i mean like it’s I mean we’re talking just ridiculous levels and so what’s happening is is that the golf ball because it does have lower spin is trying to compensate by launching just really really high like a pop fly now can you get away with that you can but the problem is is that it doesn’t work for everybody right if you play on a course where there’s a lot of wind and it’s a windy day good luck i mean this thing could legit balloon and just come back to you i mean you could hit it up in the air and be like “Oh oh no.” And it just cuz it’s just so high we’re not talking you know 32 33 34 we’re talking 39 almost 40 just insane not for me right and I think it’s just kind of excessive but other two not bad the boost again is the shine from there for sure it holds its own now getting into the pitching wedge here as you can see I’m going to talk about some stats that really stand out there the Precept has a really healthy amount of distance which is awesome i love to see that the Zip looks like it does initially but the problem is I swung so freaking fast for some reason i don’t know why but that’s that’s actually below average if you average that out ball speedwise you know precept latty and boost definitely get by with a really good score there uh spin-wise again Latty holds its own and the boost holds its own actually the boost is well above average so a $10 a dozen golf ball is having some ripback which is great uh the zip is just really kind of disappointing there and you notice the launch again 29.7 guys that’s some of the launch that’s an average launch I get with my 50 yard pitch sometimes a 58° so that’s just insanely high um the other two you know the boost just slightly above you know it’s a high launch for sure but then Latty’s just slightly above mid um the big thing there is the Precept Latty holds its own pretty good um I like it the numbers are great they’re good you know they’re not eyepopping but they’re very good they hold their own the Boost on the other hand that’s got some really good numbers what really intrigues me is even though the distance is average I’m okay with that because that spin is ridiculous i mean that’s got some serious backspin on it and it launches high also so that’s going to be a golf ball that if you’re you’re still needing a cheap ball but you don’t want to sacrifice that spin there you go that’s great the Zip just didn’t perform that well it just launches so high and balloons that it just it doesn’t have the ball speed to keep up with that so the Wilson Zip’s looking like it’s for a really really slow swinger i think a mid swinger would even be too much for it but let’s get into the 7iron let’s keep it going looking at the 7iron again distance-wise precept latty once again comes out in the head 161 and 162 on the boost is below average so we’ll get to that and the zip is just below average also uh 115 is average on the ball speed but the zip’s kind of behind again uh wow precept good for you 117 baby woo i love that but then again look at the boost really high high spin i love that and actually the Precept Latty had some really good ripback too wilson Zip had a little bit higher than average uh spin but if we look at the launch angle now all of a sudden the Zip decided it wants to launch mid which I don’t understand uh the Boost on the other hand wants to launch high so the boost actually did kind of balloon a little bit as you can see but I still got decent numbers and I got really good spin so the boost is going to be for somebody who wants some some ripback wants some spin uh and and needs a little bit higher of a launch as well the preset latty on the other hand those are phenomenal numbers what I really see also is that smash factor really great so Precept Latty is winning right now when it comes to overall performance but let’s keep going in and let’s go to the driver and as you can see from these driver numbers right there we have two balls that you know one of them precept Latty 6 yards gained above average uh love that love that ball speed you know great 143.3 144.1 we’ll talk about the zip in a second just ignore that 2138 2124 both great you smash factors are great from I mean the the boost and the the precept latty both are putting up a great performance 16.5 so it launches a little bit low with the precept but the boost launches super duper high uh which is kind of interesting there but um okay so a lot to unpack there uh you know we’ll just start with each ball here we we’ll start with the preset latty launches a little bit lower but the ball speed is really good it’s going to have more roll out it has really low spin I surprised how good the numbers were this is not a golf ball if you’re afraid of being a mid or faster swinger and you’re afraid of losing distance off the tee that’s not going to be the case here i gained you know and not not just gained but consistently gained even on mis hits gained with the driver it the the preset latty if it wasn’t for a specific golf ball the preset latty would be pretty much eye popping right it’s really great numbers i love it all the way through but the Wilson Boost just had the best driver performance I’ve seen this year by far blows everything else out of the water those averages which let’s touch on those again real quick 144.1 ball speeds second place by a whole mile an hour which was the Maxfly Tour X interesting there as far as the distance 238 and 245.2 you know this is a comparison as you can see here between these two golf balls this is my first and second place when it comes to driver performance this year just absolutely outstanding i mean there’s just no way to say that i get a lot of you guys on this channel that are like “Well driver performance is the only thing that matters.” Which whatever it’s not but that’s fine that’s what you think the Wilson Boost is just legit a a juggernaut right now when it comes to the driver performance that’s insane i I could not believe when I was hitting the balls and you know there’d be times I’d hit one and I’d go that was okay it was a little off the toe and I’d turn back and it was over 230 i’ve never seen that it’s just insane i did a How far will it go and right now the Wilson Boost is the longest golf ball I’ve hit 255 yards carry actually I have it here it is right here sorry i I 255 yards carry and as you can see the swing speed actually about a mile an hour a mile and a half boy that’s a tongue twister a mile and an hour half less than what I’ve been doing with other golf balls I’ve done how far will it go wow wow wow wow wow wow seriously wow i I just That’s amazing okay so Precept Boost both great for the driver game uh when it comes to the Wilson it’s it’s obviously for really really really slow swingers um I was overcompressing the crap out of it there was a couple times I’d hit a really good one and I’d be like “Oh hey a good one.” And it was 215 and that’s just I mean we’re sitting here talking about 238 with the boost i mean you’re talking about a 22 23 yard difference for carry um just night and day and it is what it is you know I’ll have a conclusion for the zip in a second but obviously those are horrendous numbers um which is disappointing but it’s been four years since we tested it so I had a feeling something like this might happen but let’s get into some dispersion let’s get into some accuracy let’s see how the golf balls did there all right we’re starting with the precept latty and we are looking at the 50-yard pitch down there at the bottom or the left i mean uh really great there i love that you know everything’s right on the line uh you know distance is pretty good for the most part there but all those are just kind of darts that’s really good then you get in the pitching wedge and accuracy you okay there but a really good distance dispersion you know consistency there is awesome seven iron that might be the best seven iron I’ve seen this year i love that there’s two pulls that might have been a little bit of a pull draw or something but look at like just the the dots there that’s awesome then when we get into the driver now ignore the far way two pools that I must have just you know accidentally pull drawn or something that that’s crazy but if we look at the other eight all of those are in the fairway they’re very consistent i love to see that you know I would have no problem calling this golf ball when it comes to accuracy i’ll give it the five out of five absolutely I will i love that five out of five on the accuracy I’m definitely comfortable with distance dispersion gosh you know I I think I got to give it a five out of five too just because it’s probably a four and a half where I don’t do that i bump it up but the thing is is that I I just it’s been a while since I’ve seen that good of distance dispersion you know across all clubs it’s very consistent so the preset latty is very accurate it’s very consistent that’s why a lot of you have really loved it because not only does it have that pop off the driver but it’ll keep you in the fairway it’ll keep you on the green and a lot of you can really throw some darts with it so great job there from the Precept let’s get into the zip now 50 yard pitch there starting with the zip and hey that’s really great i love to see that accuracy is on point uh dispersion is not that bad as far as consistency then we get into the pitching wedge and again everything is right there there’s one tiny little pull but the rest of them are just love it then of course we get into the seven iron and this is where things start to get a little shaky because accuracy wise it’s just okay uh but you know distance dispersion is all good there’s some really good forgiveness packed in there i love to see it and look at the driver i mean my goodness i know that I don’t get a ton of distance um but when it comes to accuracy when it comes to you know uh consistency you know there’s no other way to say it i got to give five out of fives again i really do um that’s phenomenal i I love that now seven iron starts to kind of wash it out a little bit it kind of starts to pull it back but then the driver comes up there and just you know it’s back so love to see that again it’s it’s a reason that a lot of you have really loved the zip right i know the performance numbers aren’t great maybe it is for a really slow swinger but a lot of you have loved it because what you found is that you’ve put the ball down hit it and been on the green and that’s what these numbers signify so two really solid performances can we get three out of three that are all five out of fives let’s go let’s get to the boost all right so 50 yard pitch we’re looking at as you can see the accuracy is great uh distance dispersion is just okay i mean it’s good for the most part but it’s it’s a little bit of a knock then we get into the pitching wedge and my goodness I mean you got the one pull there but other than that it is just darts D all right there i love it seven iron it is no different guys there’s that one pull it just seems like I’m good for one pull for 10 shots you know what I mean but everything else is just right there it’s all in line and then last but not least look at the driver now keep in mind the driver we’re talking you know 238 carry and despite having that type of rocket launcher capability it it’s it’s all right there i mean that’s the tightest driver dispersion I’ve ever seen i mean I I might I’m going to frame that and put that I say that all the time i’m going to frame that and put that on the wall i’ll put it next to my other trophies you know I’m going to have a trophy room in here soon yeah again five out of five i mean across the board that’s awesome and that’s why everyone has really loved these golf balls not to reiterate but just I that’s amazing i mean that’s not that’s not just being on the green we’re talking about being near the hole having birdie opportunities you know mish hitting a shot and instead of being pitching into the green or chipping you know you’re on the front of the green and you’re putting from 10 15 feet you know I just I love that all three of these golf balls phenomenal i’m glad you know after the performance and the green side and stuff I was a little down seeing this puts a smile on my face so that’s great all right so let’s talk some durability here starting with the Precept Latty looking at this it’s a little disappointing there’s definitely no getting around that so uh there’s definitely some scuffing there’s definitely some cuts uh it feels like sandpaper almost all over it just because you know the cover is almost gone at this point um you know it is what it is you get them for a dollar golf ball i get that um but you know there was some dirt here and you can tell when I hit the golf club with it i mean it’s it feels bad um five out of 10 and I think that’s being nice it is what it is it’s probably like if I was playing them it’d only last 3/4 of a round i’d have to get another one but at a dollar golf ball that helps a little bit now we’ll get into the zip and uh ooh boy that’s that’s bad um you know it’s it’s just I know it doesn’t look bad at first but when you really get in here and you look in all the dimples there’s so many scratches there’s so many scuffs there’s paint starting to peel um it’s really really really rough and you know the paint is scratching off the front the Wilson staff uh maybe if you were you know I know this is intended for a slower swinger so maybe if you were a slower swinger it wouldn’t be so bad but yeah I mean that’s definitely I’ll be nice and give it a four out of 10 but that’s being very very very generous uh maybe half around you have to toss it and this is the most expensive of the three so I know it’s only a$110 per golf ball to a dollar but it is the most expensive last but not least we have the Wilson Boost here and really good but I remember this being good last year when we tested it too you know it’s it’s just phenomenal um there’s a couple little tiny scrapes but if you feel them you don’t feel anything the golf ball still feels intact there’s one spot I can feel right there and it’s a little bit okay but still after 80 shots with this thing how great it performed off the driver especially um it held up really really well um yeah I would call that a 9 out of 10 absolutely great job all right so closing thoughts um you know let’s just go golf by golf ball by golf ball excuse me let’s start with the Precept Latty um great performance really you know I understand there’s nothing around the green to talk about i get it these are dollar you know if you’re if you’re wanting pizzazz around the green you got to spend more than a dollar golf ball most of the time right um but the Precept Latty is still really good for a variety of golfers whether you got a little bit of a slow swing if you’re a mid swing it’s great if you know you got a a fast swing it’s still pretty good you know it fits this really broad you know range of golfers which I really like it’s got a really good feel to it a lot of you really love it you know the numbers are all kind of relatively optimal there’s nothing like a super high launch or a super launch it’s all kind of in that mid high range which I really like um a dollar golf ball you just can’t beat it sure I wish the design was different but we’ve been wondering we’ve been wishing that for years so it is what it is but I can completely understand why so many of you love the Latty why you’ve been playing it and why you know you love the feel and you love the performance i mean look at the accuracy look at all that stuff um I absolutely recommend this golf ball will it be top 10 probably not but it’s still going to be up there it might be top 20 it might be top 30 it’s definitely going to be top 30 it’s still a great golf ball it’s got a great value to it um it could use probably a redesign after what are we at eight years yeah eight years now been a while been a minute um it probably needs that but overall a really great golf ball then we get into the Wilson Zip and this is obviously the big disappointment right now there is still a market for the Wilson Zip it’s just small that’s all right if you’re a really slow swinger if you’re a 30 handicap 25 handicap and you need help just getting the ball up and you need some really good forgiveness and consistency the Wilson Zip that’s what it’s for you know and that’s what I always talked about for years is it had amazing forgiveness and it does it really does i mean you saw that dispersion chart it’s great it’s It’s phenomenal uh it’s definitely the best part about the golf ball but you know $27 for 24 golf balls it is a great bargain it’s the most expensive of the three design eh you know it is what it is there’s no alignment tool i wish there was a better alignment tool especially for beginner golfers if you are 30 handicap you need that help you really do you need to line your putts up and get comfortable and see you know where your stroke is um it’s just such a small market for it anything outside of that is just a massive loss in distance this one hurts because this one is going to probably be in the bottom 30 bottom 20 uh just based on the average swing speed it’s disappointing but like I always tell you guys numbers are numbers they don’t lie so it is what it is then we get into the boost and I’ll tell you what this thing’s just a powerhouse now I understand it’s a firmer compression so I understand the pitching win numbers and the seven you know iron numbers were just okay when it came to distance but the spin it had phenomenal spin when it came to the 50 yard pitch for a two-piece ball it wasn’t above average I understand but for a two-piece under a dollar Walmart golf ball 7,800 RPM is nothing to shake a stick at 72 7,300 with a pitching wedge is great this golf ball spins and a lot of you probably wouldn’t have guessed that i definitely wouldn’t have but that’s great but then really where the boost just kind of kicks the door open and says “Hey guys this has been a fun competition laddyy you’re awesome zip get out of here i’m the king though i’m the you know leader in this room.” Is that driver performance number one i I’m blown away number one right now now can something beat it yeah we’re only halfway through the year we got a long year ahead of us maybe something will beat it but right now it’s number one in both the how far will it go test as well as just overall driver numbers it’s phenomenal so you really can’t go wrong 10 bucks a dozen try it if you don’t like it cool you wasted 10 bucks who cares it’s one of the cheapest golf balls probably the cheapest golf ball in the market just MSRP price like retail like just go get it pick it up it’s the cheapest i mean it is under $10 a dozen insane guys I hope you enjoyed this keep watching keep saving keep learning i’ll see you soon

I thought you used to say Wilson Zip was the greatest thing since apple pie and hotdogs.
You know I love the underdogs. I see how well some of them are performing. I’m actually excited for the tour ball reviews like the pro v1, chrome tour, tp5 and so on and so forth to see how they’re going to compare especially with you new swing speeds and how far will it go
Best balls for value for sure, surprised about the zip since in was top 10 this year on your list
Not taking account price,
Boost or Ultispeed? Does the greenside performance sway the decision?
Ok, the BIG QUESTION now is who is the king of the 2 piece golf balls I like the Top flight GAMER for the numbers and the price is under $1 per ball. Now, if I'm playing a scramble and money is tight, I'm going with the BOOST because of driver distance. If I'm playing a tournament in a men's group and money is tight, I'm going with the TF GAMER.
Interesting review. The Zip has never worked for me, The Laddie I have some and will test this week. The Boost is all you say it is. It is uncomfortable for me to hit but for 3 1/2 months last year it was the only ball I would play. I had lost much of my strength and the Boost was the only ball I could hit 130+ yards. Your previous review helped out in a time of need. Thanks
Boy oh boy do I feel vindicated about the Zip. Saw so many acreaming praises including you and I got some and was NOT at all impressed. I just didn't get any kind of good numbers and i had 2/3 crack within the first 20 shots. I wanted to love it too. Profile & Chaos is way better than Zip in my opinion.
I loved this video though. Good idea for the comparison of te 3
What a bummer for my Zip! 🙁 It still seems to work for me though because I swing at 77-80 mph. I'm in the process of trying out a LOT of different ball right now. I love the new maxfli straightfli more than I loved the old one. That's my main ball still for now. I'll keep you posted on how I like everything I'm trying out.
Got to give it to a 2017 ball that is still pretty competitive! Have tried the Boost and it is a great ball.
Great review. Cool to see the Boost still came out on top. Can’t beat the price like u say. Hope to see the Wilson Tour Velocity this year, a little firmer than the Boost. Probly my 2 favorite bargain golf balls
Good timing with this review as I’m doing the same. I bought all of these due to this channel. For me the Wilson zip is not good. Will not purchase again. Laddie, pleasantly surprised. Out performs my tour balls off the driver and straight too. Boost is close to the Laddie overall but not as good.
Thanks for reviewing value golf balls.
Awesome triple review Nick! I've played with all of these balls thanks to your channel. My only regret is that the Boost is not carried by Wal-Mart in Canada and I'm running short from my last visit to Texas. Bigger suitcase next trip!
Good morning Nick, 07 30 Monday morning here in Thailand. Just watched the review I have been waiting for. Great video and review. A couple of weeks ago I got bored watching Netflix so picked up the phone and went on Temu. Browsed a few things and looked at golf balls. They were selling some Piper golf balls so thought I would buy some. I thought I had ordered a dozen Piper Green balls. On delivery I have received a 9 ball sample pack. There are 3 Green balls aimed at 15 plus handicap, 3 Blue balls aimed at 5 to 15 handicap and 3 Black balls aimed at 0 to 12 handicap. Not tried them yet but this is what companies like Wilson should do. Slow swing speed, high handicap, try this sample pack, scratch golfer, try this sample pack. Would make choosing a ball easier. The boxes say they are designed in Atlanta, Ga. But I think maybe made in China, but that's just guessing.
I played Chambers Bay for the first time on a chilly 38 degree day. First two holes were OK. Par. On the Par 5, I jarred a PW from 100 yards out. Bending over I saw another ball in the hole. Precept Lady!
Hit it on the next hole and that was my ball for the rest of the day. Wow! Long, soft and accurate. 1 over on the front.
I don’t think any other ball would have done better in those conditions. Par 3 at 163 dead on the stick with a 6, iron in December. Crazy good!
Nick you're incorrect on the Precept Laddie being a Lady's ball originally. They used to make the Precept Lady for women and the Precept Laddie for men.
I remember a ball from Srixon called the Hi Spin or something. Urethane cover, 2 piece low rocket ball! You could hit a 9 iron through a door way at 130 yards but stop on a dime.
Played it in windy courses like Bandon, Pacific Grove,,etc. of course they changed it! Now called the Z Star. Still very good and a new lower compression.
A few months ago, responding to my online inquiry, a Wilson customer service person emailed me that both the Wilson Zip and the Wilson Boost were no longer being manufactured. A couple of weeks ago I was in my local Walmart and could not find the Boost on Walmart's big selection of wall of displayed golf balls. But a salesperson found two almost hidden boxes of Boost, each with no box cover. I bought one to add to a few others I had previously purchased based on Nick's review of the Boost. I do notice that Walmart's website still sells the Boost for a few cents under $9.97 for a box of 12. Maybe the customer service person was wrong. In any case I suppose that for golf ball addicts who want to purchase the Boost, "the earlier the better" may be the way to go.
My gripe with the Laddie is that I don’t feel like I can control the side spin. I hit my usual high fade and sometimes the ball just rips off to the right. The only other ball I’ve ever hit that did that was the old Maxfli Revolution D. The Boost looks very similar to the Titleist TruFeel, but at a third of the price.
I love me some Wilson golf so I'm glad the Boost won. What an amazing ball at an amazing value. But I am surprised the Laddie did not dominate. I play much better with it. With my golf game that's pretty relative though……… 🏌♂️⛳
Wilson Boost is $30 per dozen in Canada, lowest sale price was $24 😑. The Laddie still can't be beat at $35 for 2 dozen.
I throughly enjoy the precept best score with it to date; the Wilson Zip was very poor in my personal use on the course, did not like a single thing about it. All the more reason to get out there and test golf balls ourselves and see what responds to the way we individually deliver the club as well. The boost had some nice numbers; looks like I have another golfball to tinker with.
Thanks man
FYI MyGolfSpy is saying Costco released an updated version of their KSig 3 that is much improved.
You know I’m a Laddie off the tee guy. I’m going to pick up some Boosts today and play tee to green with them tomorrow. I’ll leave the Maxfli’s at home.
Loving the multi-ball format.
Awesome!
New game
"Dollar a ball"
DRINK!
"If it weren't for a specific golf ball"…. Allow me to let the big dog out of the bag. ULTISPEED, boys…
I am pumped for this and can't wait to try Wilson Boost. Especially for only $10 lol. Laddie has been a beast & I love it. Would you say the Wilson Boost definitely outlaunches the Laddie distance-wise with a 5 hybrid though? Laddie seemed to hold the crown of distance because of the 5 hybrid but you left that out here. Thanks
Would like to see the new pinnacle distance (replaced the rush for good! Seems like the same ball though. Also feel like the Top Flite XL control is the best ball from top flite. The control XL and the pinnacle distance would both be in this same category I think. Thank you, what do you think?
Need to see “how far will it go” vs the new pinnacle distance, the new world long drive ball.
almost can't go wrong with a wilson ball; been jamming on the boost of late, like it more than the zip; love the channel brother Nick; just got some topflite gamers on the cheap, can't wait to try them; seriously shop golf balls from watching your reviews; thank you Nick, keep it up man love it
Great info!
Been selling my buddies on the boost. Shot my PR with it. So good.
Ok – so Wilson Boost or Wilson Soft? Which to you prefer? (for a 30 handicap)
I just got a box of wilson boost. But the numbers under the logo are red and the alignment tool is a very thin black line. Is it the same ball besides that? Or did they update the specs?
I just went on to the Wilson website, and neither the zip or the boost is on there. I also went to the Walmart website, and it says they are out of stock for the boost. I'm assuming the triad is the closest current offering to the boost?
This morning I went on Walmart’s website to purchase the Wilson Boost. The site had a message in red saying “Only 6 left.” Then when i went to the checkout section of the site I saw a message with a picture of a basket and the words “Wilson Extreme Distance Gol…is selling out fast! Check out soon before it’s sold out.” I had problems finalizing my online purchase and gave up. Luckily I already do have several Boost balls I had purchased over time at my local Walmart store based on Nick’s past strong recommendations. But what can be done to get Wilson to start manufacturing those balls again and making them available at Walmart and other stores???
Would love to see a Hex Tour review pretty pretty please 😊 thanks, as always, for everything you do, sir!
