Looking to purchase my first gaming pc/laptop and trying to keep it under $1,000. Is buying used via FB marketplace something to consider? Seems like that’s where the deals are. I’d love feedback on the options included in this post – let me know what you’d go with and why! I have a 1080p projector and plan on running GS Pro on High or Ultra.

First 3 are from FB marketplace – the last two are new builds from Best Buy
Depends on your setup I was a PC gamer and graphic designer first so I have both. But I have to golf into a backyard cage so the laptop is my choice. But as an Awesome Golf and Garmin R10 user my android tablet is a perfect option.
I always Duel purpose anything I buy especially tech or tools. If you can use a desktop for more than just a sim go for it. Especially if you plan to play for a long time. I’ve tried out E6 Connect on the laptop and it starts to eat battery and kick fans on. A desktop will generally be quieter and stay cooler for long periods of time so you won’t experence thermal throttling.
You’ll probably need to plug in a laptop to power for long sessions and to get max performance. Running on battery generally lowers performance in favor of longer battery life.
2nd one is best value for sure, can probably talk it down to 700-750.
1st isn’t bad option either cause it looks brand new, but it’s a PC flipper that cheaped out on the case, harddrive, motherboard and power supply and is charging $100-200 more than they bought the parts for. Whereas the 2nd option is someone selling their old PC that still outperforms the 1st option and has nicer parts, but it has been used for a few years
Second one all the way. Get it for $700/$725 if you can. That’ll run 4k GSPro no problem.
I also like that it looks like it’s not RGB vomit.
All of these are overpriced in my opinion. Could try the 3070 build for $650.
