Played at a resort called Kiva Dunes in Gulf Shores beautiful course we spent thousands playing there. Literally all day the ranger was up our ass telling us to pick it up because people behind us were complaining. Literally the last 3 holes behind us were clear all day. Rangers name was Mike total piece of shit ruined our game.

I had a marshal yesterday see me and brother on 5 different occasions constantly tells us a comp was behind us.
No one ever caught up behind us but he was adamant we was playing slow.
We did the full 18 in around 3.5 hours 🤷🏻♂️

I went with a group friends. 4 of us. The entire time we were waiting on a group of 6 old dudes in front us. The ranger came up to us 9 TIMES. I lost it. I said, "dude we are keeping pace with the group in front of us, it's getting backed up because of them, they're in the middle of the frikin fairway we are not going to tee off" the ranger literally told us "theyll be fine just hit the ball into them dont worry about it" turns out they were some old head members so of course the ranger wasnt going to say anything to them. RIDICULOUS!!!
My friend and I were playing in front of a group of 4 old dudes. My friend was injured so we had the handicap flag. We stayed 1 to holes in front of them the entire time. Like we were on the tee bix at hole 6 and they were still on the green at hole 4. The ranger literally approached us, WITH A HANDICAP FLAG ON OUR CART, and said "hey its getting backed up yall need to hurry up. My buddy said "what are you talking about we are 2 holes ahead of them and im playing on a broken foot why are you not talking to them" the course marshall said i understand but you have to keep up the play. I just dont understand these rangers man.

One of the rangers at NCW was actually wicked nice to me once.. I hit my ball over the back of the green on hole 2 and he came over to point it out when he noticed i was playing a range ball.. he said “you can’t be playing a range ball. Here, i found these you can have” and gave me a bunch of new pro v1s and tp5s that people had lost. Nicest ranger ive ever encountered, wish i got his name.
I'm all for enforcing pace, but when a marshal tries to dictate my shot selection (i.e. laying up) thats when it gets to be too much. Also, the number 1 cause of slowplay by far is the way these courses overbook their tee times too closely
I wish my course had a ranger like this. I always follow people who go turtle speed. It's infuriating.
Played front 9 at a local public course. We're waiting on EVERY shot. Ranger comes up to us and tells us to pick up the pace. We proceed to "inform" him of the slow group in front of us. He goes and talks with the other group. And then comes back and says he can't say anything to the other group. Turns out they donated much of the land that became the course.
