from bad habits to personal struggles these are the 10 golfers who ruined their careers ty Triion a teenager who is one of those golfers who were believed to become the next big thing especially after qualifying for the PGA Tour at just the age of 17 but the reality struck him pretty badly especially during his struggling years when he had to battle monucleiosis and tonsillitis these diseases made Tai hold back all its potential severely affecting his performance on the fairway throughout the seven events in 2002 Tai only managed to make one cut and it was even worse in the following season it was clear he had lost his magic and quickly faded away from the spotlight like he never existed illness definitely played a role in his downfall but the real culprit was the pressure and massive expectations from others that he had to fulfill but maybe it was for good as after living an early life of fame he can now live a life as a loving husband and a great dad a win in my opinion but can I say the same for this next golfer let’s find out john Daly the big man in golf he’s literally a living drama because there’s always something happening with him his breakthrough win at the 1991 PGA Championship and his 1995 Open Championship victory made it clear that this fella has talent but Daly tried his best to overshadow it with his questionable lifestyle which is packed with heavy drinking gambling and very aggressive behavior thanks to all of that he has reportedly lost around $55 million in gambling and has even faced multiple suspensions from the PGA Tour moreover his love for alcohol is so severe that he entered rehab for 3 years from fighting with others to withdrawal from tournaments the man just wants to destroy a healthy career at one point he was even sent to jail and this is where his most viral image emerged from in an orange jail uniform when he was arrested for driving under the influence if you think that was crazy wait till you see the next one eddie Pierce a child prodigy was so good at handling the club that he was often referred to as the next Jack Nicholas he made quite a name for himself throughout his career but surprisingly despite playing 195 PJ Tour events from 1974 to 1981 he never won a single tournament pierce was basically a sensation among golf fans which is why similar to Tai Trion there were many holding great expectations for him this ultimately led to pressure which despite excellent talent he struggled with inconsistency and even mental toughness needed to make a cut eddie even made a comeback attempt in 1993 which turned out to be a failure and ultimately it was clear raw talent won’t do him any good a tragic tale indeed but the next one is even more sad david Dval’s career collapse is truly a tragic one his story is filled with physical shortcomings personal struggles and mental battles and it all began after reaching the pinnacle of his career by winning the Open Championship in 2001 unfortunately his lumbar vertebrae sprained severely in 2000 which forced him to alter his swing to protect his back this change not only disrupted his gameplay but also cost him the title of one of the best drivers ever but if that wasn’t enough his follow-up wrist and shoulder injuries along with a diagnosis of positional vertigo in 2003 totally destroyed his confidence it was a truly emotionally draining phase for Duval because soon after his long-term engagement also ended leaving him depressed and helpless this led to him missing several cuts and despite all the effort to make a comeback he never reached the peak he once climbed easily billy Horchel’s 2021 Masters at Augusta is something golf fans will never forget his true downfall began during the third round when he made a series of mistakes that led to his frustration boiling up especially on the 13th hole when his ball fell right into Race Creek and to make fun of himself he took off his shoes and socks to play the ball from the water but slipped and fell but there is one video in which he can be seen throwing a tantrum like a child slamming his club repeatedly into the bag this tournament truly showed a very bizarre side of him his fans now know him as one of the most unprofessional players in golf’s history golf can be very frustrating but acting like that is totally unacceptable if you’re enjoying watching these golfers ruin their careers don’t forget to hit that like button and subscribe to the channel for more similar content in the future the infamous Patrick Reed a pro golfer who’s skilled and determined but no matter how hard he tries can’t escape the word cheater that’s bound with him for life after all he’s known for cheating since he was back in college at the University of Georgia there he was accused of cheating during qualifying rounds and even stealing from teammates but he denied all those allegations in the 2019 Hero World Challenge Reed’s controversies escalated as he was caught on camera using practice swings in a bunker to improve his ball’s lie despite video proof he once again denied any wrongdoing but still that didn’t save him from receiving a two-stroke penalty later in 2020 US he did something similar but even more brazenly by pushing his club into the rough to improve his ball’s position this man is totally shameless but fans punish him for it as well by calling him a cheater in every match he participates in chip Beck’s career was pretty awesome during its peak heck he was known as Mr 59 after shooting a rare 59 on the PGA Tour but things took a turn downwards a controversial cheating scandal during the 1991 RDER Cup during the match Beck got paired with Paul Azinger and was caught switching golf balls mid round against the European team his act was totally against the rules as it required players to use the same ball type throughout a match the European team noticed the cheating and protested against it but officials didn’t catch the switch in real time and decided not to penalize Beck and his teammate but that didn’t mean Beck got away with it because from this point onwards his career now had an additional label as a cheater but Beck himself believed it to be intentional as he was unaware of the rule but that still didn’t get him a clean record causing him to eventually fade away from the spotlight beck left the tour to become an insurance salesman maybe this Knicks golfer should have done the same after a miserable performance jean Vandervelt’s career might not have been destroyed but it was definitely put at risk during his mediocre performance at the 1999 Open Championship at Carnoui going into the 18th hole Vandervel held a three-shot lead and only needed a double bogey to earn him the win but he instead took an unnecessary risk by using a driver off the te which led to his ball landing in a rough area his second shot hit a grandstand and ended up in a pretty tough spot then came the third hit which was the worst of them all the ball landed in the Barry Burn jean instead of taking a drop decided to remove his shoes and socks and jump into the stream to take his next shot however he soon realized how impossible it was and took a drop anyway he eventually lost the tournament after forcing a playoff against Paul Lowry and Justin Leonard lowry eventually won and all Vandereld was left with was his epic meltdown sergio Garcia’s career is filled with frustration poor decisions smacking his club in a bunker and mocking Tiger Woods he was once a beloved figure and Europe’s all-time best RDER Cup player but his reputation took a hit due to several putting struggles things got so bad that he even took a break from competitive golf missing the 2010 RDER Cup garcia’s recent behavior has led to his disqualification from the 2019 Saudi International after he intentionally damaged the Greens in anger moreover there were other controversies surrounding his decision to join the Saudibacked LIIV Golf Series which cost him his DP World Tour membership and effectively ended his RDER Cup career later he paid hefty fines to rejoin the European tour but he was denied closing the door on his Ryder Cup future his world ranking dropped causing him to miss majors he once qualified for consistently now all he can do is make racist remarks about Woods who to be honest has also faced his fair share of controversies so let’s discuss him shall we tiger Woods would have thought an athlete like him could never have a downfall especially after dominating a game like no one has in history but things go bad when they want to be like when Woods’s personal life hit the headlines in 2009 after a car crash which also revealed his marital troubles and other affairs this led to a huge public scandal that shook his image and confidence he even took a break from golf to address these issues and even after coming back he had to struggle because of a series of injuries including multiple knee and back problems and even a torn ACL but despite everything Woods managed to stay relevant until now which is why he’s considered a living golf legend if you enjoyed watching these golfers ruining their careers you’ll love this video too
