good day chubbers here at Whaleback Golf Course for episode two of Breaking Public I’m currently one over after episode one and I uh I’m hoping for a way better start we’re on the 10th hole here at Whaleback it’s a dog leg up to the right probably the hardest hole these next two holes at while back are probably the hardest two on the course thanks for letting us start off 10 all right under par public course rip it apart what do you reckon we’re going to have two over gravy what did you say two yeah over oh uh under one one one under okay i reckon I’m going to go three under or over let’s see how it goes oh no get out get out get out get out get out yeah hit that so badly we’re okay not a long hole just got to go i should have hit five yeah there’s a house there’s people sleeping people got to school we’re in play just all right whale back uh I haven’t played here for probably about 3 or 4 years it is looking unreal ben the super got in contact said “Boys come out i’ll get the place looking spectacular and far out for a public course that has a lot of traffic so far it is looking unbelievable i’m hoping I go low today it’s not a long course like I said these first couple are a bit dicey and then after that there’s some short par fours that we’re going to have a crack at and I need to I need a ground on a par i can’t remember the last time I did it just want to like a par or birdie to start why is it most people start badly do you start badly every time yeah not bad a leg spinner look at that that’s grainy are the grains quick they look slick i look very good i didn’t have a puff stupidly we need to sort that out what am I doing okay 99 i’m just hoping to get contact cuz this is thick there hang a bit right up hey pick it up please tell me I pick it up all right huh that’s a good start look at that what a morning for it 25° no wind greens are cut this is the day we go low i’m feeling it 11th hole 463 m par 4 this swoops to the right big power fade down the left par fives go time par fives and short par fours that’s where I got to get the job done what a day how good that good oh oh I’ll go right oh wow i can cut more off all right take that it’s very intimidating when this house is right there i’m happy to get away from these next these two cops and then it’s just the right highway next welcome back Ra good morning Ronald um when was the last time you played here have you ever played here well yeah that would be never oh okay yeah I’ve been to the driving range once here but yeah I’ve never played here yeah I’m looking forward to today like it can cannot get a better day for golf no at all where am I it’s a little chilly but it’s fine take me jumper off soon and really start playing okay 192 straight at it um theme of the day slow swing i should have put a dot on me glove to remind myself if you’ve listened to the podcast we actually have a podcast i should have mentioned that it’s going quite well but I did say that there’s a tip where you put a a dot on your glove and whatever you’re working on at the time that’s what you remember so I’m going to put a dot there and just for me that’s swing smooth and slow have you had loads of messages of people sending you photos of it it’s good i’m here to teach good to see that they’re listening as well y sometimes people do listen oh I yanked it it’s really hard to hit a fade when it’s just jungle to the right i don’t know did you see it land no it be up there though got to look we’re actually very lucky if I hit that sign I’ll be roping look at that little thing sitting there bump it up let’s go for a Let’s get a birdie p here we go today’s the day today’s the day i’ll tell you what I’ll get used to this all day one under this this feels much better i prefer this we should do this more often okay 12th hole 285 m par4 we’re having a crack it’s going to be a lot of this today good fun when you can just you riskreward really isn’t it couple short par fours road on the right talking about that straight at it i don’t know it’s not on the road that was the goal have you played here i’ve played here once before this is your course like it like first two holes little dog leg right little purely fade nice little phase around the corner this would have to be up there with one of the most requested places for you to play I think we’re going to do a couple more we got whale back where else should we go secret Harbor oh Secret Harbor man i would like to play in that video though well I think we’ll tracking how I’m going with public horses we’ll get your support carryover from the last video which you haven’t watched it go back me and Joel played Collie Park actually don’t go back don’t worry about it go back after you’ve watched this one but that still this is the longest part I’ve had pace control delay come on pretty quick did you see that breaking no don’t say no cuz now you know oh I saw that slinging how many times do I do that get new product next week do you know oh yeah must be nice is that three this year yeah but this one I didn’t know they They’re bringing out a new one and they said “You want it?” I was like “Yeah yeah it’s like a counterbalance um lab style it’s free it’s for me it’s free it’s for me.” Wow right this is the feature hole here at Whaleback 144 m par 3 overwater pin tuck right in that back corner thanks grand keepers got me good here what a hole though right 144 i’m going to go an eight uh I hit eight about 150 but cuz it’s uh water and it’s cold downhill downhill yeah smooth eight smooth eight every like the putting man if I could just put this would be a nice path you know what I mean and I I agree i have I have absolutely stumped this come on just knock one of these in early do something do something different get one here now that I’m happy to go in really well birdie that hole that’s a cracking birdie scratchy has a has a birdie on it par three scratchy golfer golfer has a scratchy one under once again another yo-yo game of golf for Ron um was in the car park this morning having a phone call with uh Rippers GC uh the Liv team pretty cool so nothing locked in but something promising hopefully ronnie uh playing with the boys imagine flying over to like the UK to play against them that’s a long way to go to get beaten five for 9 i’ll do it 14th 390 m par 4 hello uh dog legs to the on a Thursday between before lunch Yeah that specifically has three men talking and a guy with a mustache and a hat we’re ranking well we are the best of that all right birdie park this one would be a good one to get this is one of the tougher holes too 390 must rank pretty high bit of construction going on in the background oh they’re doing something to the range yeah they’re putting all new netting and and poles in massive upgrade to the range it needs it e cuz it’s been big hitters spending millions of dollars man [Music] take that one under still nice to have a par every now and then how would you rather I know like what’s your lowest score uh I’ve had a 76 off the stick so four over would you rather like a solid day where you you shoot 76 again but you get there with like like 15 pars a couple of buies one birdie however that works out the mass or roller coaster double then a birdie on here par here come in just like the ladder i had um I had five bogeies one birdie and that is just a knot for me birdies don’t come often so if I can eliminate the doubles and and obviously bogeies do you want the calm day yeah I’d love a calm day it rarely happens with me so I’d enjoy that yeah yeah i’m going to take me jumper off let’s get serious par 4 321 m cracking days there’s a plane coming up look at that job find yourself go go go go go straight very strong i can’t get in the for the life of me I have no idea how to play it has this like wall of trees that I think you go over or you you lay up are they on the left right oh I’ll be going into them then yeah yeah yeah okay crack and drive but now I’m left with this bloody awkward shot i’d rather be a full swing in I’ve hit it too far it’s like this pins at the front it’s sort of yippy lob wedge over the face try and try and guess oh yanked in is that the green keeper over there that cut the pin do I give him a spray yeah rip into him mate be back in a sec there you go pitch mark fixed chopped in me divot little things you like playing on nice courses you got to do your part another tip with Ron another tip with Ron people should pay for this stuff i reckon you reckon do a membership based video you reckon yeah well I heard there’s a thing on YouTube that you people could be members and they get like they can see the videos early and behind the scenes so I thought about this right and the way we could do it is all the stuff that happens outside of the editing yeah the bits that happen you know outside of the car the extra bits that I’m going to cut out of this we just put that all together and it’s pull your head in this is what I was saying about they gave me like a plus 1.4 handicap which from 2 years ago handicap system’s broken i might retract that scratchy comment I made earlier yeah six that’s a very good point I’ve just made once again I don’t get the handicap here so I know it’s like your best eight out of 20 but like I like I pretty good pretty good but like plus two whatever that this handicap tracker gave me doesn’t seem right like I’ve met plus handicappers they’re really good i’m really good every now and then i reckon if like I reckon I’m a two handicap i reckon I’m a two scratch to two handicapper a good a good scratch to two handicapper if if I could part now we’re talking plus one point whatever it gave me but today they could be the day today could be the day all five another bird what are you hitting five you’re a big boy big Australian man 50 short i’m going to give it a rip i’d rather have a crack at it than try and do this sort of like pokey one with a four so big swing with the five i think I’m short short just short I think not cut that that’s pretty good sounded good good strike i’ve actually um Do you remember I talked about me hovering my driver i do i I for some reason out of nowhere before I hit it my club’s up like I start hovering an iron shot do you feel like that’ll bring on like the hips or something maybe no like the triggers i don’t know it’s like it is the trigger like I’m like I just feel like I can put the club where I want it’s weird okay working with driver though big eagle part here it’ll take some time reading these ones cuz these are the ones I I put to like 6 7 foot all the time just put it to like a foot give that a crack [Applause] go left go left wow that’s not that way yes two this is going well we should and really goes left i’m going to hit Bobby bobby’s been pretty good i get a little draw with Bobby that should be the fight oh draw Bobby that’s not the draw oh I think I’m bit bad enough on I was hoping for the big draw is that all right is he me how do you reckon you’re going to go here yeah so I don’t know whether Am I going to play the You want to play the front N or back N what do you want we’re still trying to figure it out i think um you’re going sub 40 I reckon here i think I can go sub 40 yeah you get driver and play mhm just you have little shots in so that’s going to be the actually like look at any of these holes i don’t really Yeah see I don’t think I’ll take driver on many of them really like part fours didn’t have a go I reckon this side’s harder okay Gravy you want this side 154 i’m on the wrong fairway i’ve gone straight through the fairway now I’m going have to hit something over the trees here this is a tough hole but that might work that might work i don’t know hopefully Gravy got it i was worried about that all right tap her in tap tap her in just straight up and whack it two under stills one more hole to go on this side feeling good cracking course he’s done a very good job the the the green staff superintendent Ben ben done an incredible job very very cool very friendly sort of course like if you even if you just started short par fours get a couple of pars under your belt yeah very good okay 144 that’s been the trend for every par three 144 uh we’re going to go with an eight iron we’re going to finish this nine off with a bang with a rock nothing i was going to say money but no this is wrong like this is people have bought this shirt and then you see him we could see someone wearing a shirt across the fairway and you just give him the nod as he’s chipping out of a tree a jumper that look like this now that’s Now we’re talking now we’re Now you thought about that you’re going to get something live it’s hard to do though like you could get a jumper and put something on it but to make like the sleeves pink blue you’ve essentially wrecked three other jumpers to make one yeah yeah you have to pull them back i’ll do it out of all the shots this is probably my killer putting this this like awkward like fly all the way there got to get it right can you talk to me how you were going to play it then like what’s Tell me your technique what’s going on cuz this this is a number that comes up for a lot of people 55 m in 55 m okay so obviously it’s a short swing so a thing something I do I put my leg back just so when it’s short it’s so easy just to pick it up and just use your arm so if I bring my leg back it makes me still swing around my body i’m probably going to go like rib cage to rib cage hip to hip where to go i yipped it it’s on the green mate i yipped that as I hit it i felt my hands go like this how good was me drive great drive thank you so other tip I was going to give you got to leave yourselves uphill all right imagine this goes in ah skate with that one like that’s crazy how you could hit a great drive shock and par feel like a bit flat other hole slice fly it flop heart feel like a birdie golf is such a unique sport so stupid love it love it uh here at Ron Chopper we try to improve your game and just after that amazing display of short game I thought I’d give Joel a chipping lesson right if you’ve got I don’t have an alignment stick but if you have an alignment stick pretend this is an alignment stick right so I want you to try this leg back and then you would put an alignment stick no Joe’s like this holy crap oh like stab him in the ground dab him in the ground so basically I’m trying to get him to stay like in this arc not that much and I’m trying to get him to stay like underneath this as if this obviously it’s going well this feels like it’s going really well i just feel like there’s a dentist involved like the green but that went in the air i didn’t take that subscribe 295 R4 going to hit one to the similar distance out actually sort myself out uh actually going into this hole with a bit of an injury cuz we just tried to do that drill again and they hit me in the knuckles should have stopped after one yeah he nailed the first time i don’t know why we did it again okay with an injury full-blooded Ricky here we go no hands roll over stay there oh could be touching go over there yuck yucky swing bad swing 86 m we’re going over a bunker over rocks through a power line i find this easier than the shot I had before how crazy is that i reckon it’s cuz I’ve only got one option whereas the other shot I was like I could go low got to land it here and then your brain just goes I’ll do none of that so I’m I I can only see one [Music] shot not very good actually better swing parting for birdie the course looks like it’s getting better like the more the sun comes up as well really and these place these places get some traffic too like you get a lot of beginner golfers who just don’t know what how to look after a golf course yet so that’s what it’s not their fault they’re just getting started but for that all going on it looks bloody spot [Music] on thought I jagged it 200 is still pretty pretty boring couple of holes for me pass change that up now in in tap tap how many should you fix when you go to green do they say like you should always fix yours and someone else’s so I’ll do that one i’ll do that one another one and now you don’t have to do any for the rest of the round yeah yeah I won’t do the rest of mine hole six par three 171 wee lengthy uh going a 7 iron then do something another birdie please hang on past 71 two under a 69 isn’t it you just hover around this mark right let’s just lay up here get up get up get up just got over that little mound pretty straight that smooth swing’s working for me i reckon you should try smooth mate i’m tempo town yeah I can’t say that without laughing that’s a tempo that fast that’s swinging fast here boy you slow that down this tempo town around here okay this town’s only big enough for one temple oh stop three stock standard paths feels weird don’t mind it probably not that interesting to watch but stuff you right 320 m dog leg left par 4 this green I remember has like this massive swale in it and I don’t know where he’s put the flag he might have done me dirty here wind’s up dude wind’s up it’s getting harder holding on to me 69 got the legs guys go go go go go i didn’t hit it very well i think we’re mint sorry i was half laughing i’m funny sometimes you can’t put that in can you what I said okay we’ll figure it out we’ll see if it’s been put in or not okay i’ve told a few people that we’re going to Sunshine Coast and everybody has said “You’re going to conference for him and it it come off looking like a a bit of a wzle but if I was to pick any part of your game most people are probably going to say length it is that it is that what you just did quite a bit of fat you can’t win though because you play these exclusive championship courses and they’re too long for you yeah you come here and overpower it needed one in the middle just a good down man oh it’s in one to play two under par just finish under par Ronald please last hole par4 360 m swooping around the side this is stinginger time just got to play one down the guts on the green two one oh bit nervous over that right a1 position 146 9 iron all over it bit nervous would you like I’m sure you’d like a birdie but are you just happy with a on the green two-part car yep that’s all
