BEDMINSTER, NJ — Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster has earned the undesirable title of scoring the lowest health grade in Somerset County.
The Somerset County Department of Health conducted a food inspection on May 6 at the golf club off Lamington Road and found 18 health violations and earned a 32 out of 100 health inspection score.
Violations included: Person in Charge demonstrated knowledge of food safety principles pertaining to this operation; Proper separation of raw meats and raw eggs from ready-to-eat foods provided; Food protected from contamination; Food contact surfaces properly cleaned and sanitized; Toilet facilities are adequate, properly constructed, properly maintained, supplied, and cleaned.
The golf club was given a “conditionally satisfactory” C grade, which means that “at the time of the inspection, the establishment was found not to be operating in substantial compliance with this chapter and was in violation of one or more provisions of this chapter.”
Due to the nature of these violations, a reinspection shall be “conducted at an unannounced time.”
A total of six violations were found in the reinspection on June 4, including food contact surfaces properly cleaned and sanitized; Food properly labeled, original container; Wiping cloths properly used and stored.
A request for comment from Somerset County or Trump National Golf Club was not immediately returned to Patch.
In total, Donald Trump owns three golf clubs in New Jersey including in Bedminster, Colts Neck, and Pine Hill.
