Tour Striker coach Martin Chuck breaks down one of the simplest ways to gain more rotation, better depth, and ultimately more power—just by adjusting your trail foot.

Most golfers (especially those 40+) are losing distance not because they’re weak—but because they’re stuck. Literally. Poor setup = limited rotation.

Here’s the quick fix:
➡️ Flare your trail foot
➡️ Free up your hip turn
➡️ Create space for a deeper, more effective backswing

Toss in a little resistance band feedback (Martin’s using the Impact Sling here), and suddenly your swing has structure and power.

tour Nation Martin Chuck here and I am honored to coach as many people as I get to coach it’s awesome i do camps pretty much all year long home base is obviously here at the Raven Phoenix and one of the things you know most campers are my age and older and everybody wants to hit it farther and I see simple opportunities and this is I’m going to say 80% of the golfers that come see us so you get this right now hopefully you’ll pay attention to this and create this range of motion that lets you have a deeper more full back swing less complicated less chaotic but that can deliver the club powerfully to the golf ball so as I set up to hit a shot and you pay particular attention to my feet notice how my toes are pigeon toed at the moment well if I try to rotate from here I immediately have a pinch in my femur and my hip basically my hips get locked so this is an internal rotation of my trail foot so at a dress what I want to do is I want to have my trail foot my right foot flared so it’s a lot easier for me to have rotation and hip depth watch this club head it’s parallel to my target line as I rotate I’ve got depth away from where it started i’ve got all this range of motion well that corresponds up my body lets my torso turn and lets me move my arms and have some depth without this fake back swing of retracting my arm behind me and that’s what I often see is a phony baloney back swing with no hip depth so what we want to feel is this push of this trail leg let it lose a little bit of flex let that hip go back and up behind you so that you can turn your body create some depth
