when you step up to the first te at Oakmont it’s a big ballpark kind of golf course are you changing the way you’re actually like physically striking the golf ball like mentally to play a course like that or is it just like this is my game and let’s just see how it translates to a US Open golf course yeah I think more than anything it’s just trying to do what I do well and play to that a little bit so for me get the ball in the fairway whether that’s hit a few less drivers off the tea or whatnot we’ll do that but I think Oakmont just the distances has going to force your hand to hit driver off most of those holes so really yeah try to do what I do best and go from there not change a whole lot that’s the interesting thing about professional golfers how you guys go out there week to week and like you just got to trust your game and not really move outside of that as amateur golfers whenever we play different golf courses and we have different matches like I’ll play a bigger better golf course in a bigger better match and like I feel like I’m changing things as opposed to just like seeing how my game within myself matches up in that match i mean it’s got to be like something in your guys’ brain that you’re able to kind of just stay level and just like this is what I’m going to do and we’re just going to see how that goes well I think we’re all a little bit of crazy first of all so uh I think we got to learn that a little bit you know for me like this is my 11th year on tour i would say it definitely took a few years to kind of have the patience of like you know you just have some bad weeks out there you you know that your stretch of good golf is going to come you just got to kind of wait for it and you know keep sticking to your practice plan the things you want to get better at and know that eventually the results are going to show up i mean that’s the hardest part about golf right is you can keep putting in the work putting in the work think of a guy like Max Homo has been working his butt off and eventually that’s going to catch back up here for him and he’ll see the results here pretty soon so you just got to be patient and wait for that little run that you’re going to catch in
