A Texas man who told police he wanted to “spread the gospel” to President Donald Trump is accused of jumping the fence at Mar-a-Lago.
Anthony Thomas Reyes, 23, was arrested early Tuesday and faces a trespassing charge, jail records show. Reyes was released from the Palm Beach County Jail the following day on a $50,000 bond.
U.S. Secret Service agents told police they found Reyes on the 17-acre Palm Beach, Fla., property shortly after midnight, the Palm Beach Daily News reported. Trump was in Washington, D.C., at the time.
Reyes told police he climbed over the wall that surrounds Mar-a-Lago so he could talk to Trump about “the gospel” and marry Kai Madison Trump, the president’s 18-year-old granddaughter, according to the newspaper. Kai Trump is the daughter of the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

A judge ordered Reyes to have no contact with the Trump family or have any weapons or firearms.
This is not Reyes’ first visit to Mar-a-Lago. Palm Beach Police issued Reyes a warning for trespassing at the estate on Dec. 31, 2024, which would have fallen during one of Trump’s stays at his home, the newspaper said.
Numerous people have been arrested for trying to breach the security zone around Mar-a-Lago, established following the attempted assassination of Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Ryan Routh was arrested last year after he pointed a gun in Trump’s direction in an attempted assassination at the president’s golf club.
