seeing from the first overall
pick taken in the NFL draft, cam
Ward, his quarterback. You came to my house before my brother
met him. The first thing he said
after he left was like, man, just, you know, he just ain’t
just calm. He relaxed. So I
mean, you need that at the quarterback position, man. You
can’t be just you can’t just be
an overthinker, a jittery guy. You just got to kind of, you
know, be okay with, you know,
up, you know, doing good. And, you know, just you just got to
have that mentality kind of he
kind of got that got to have that kind of mentality. He’s
 calm. He’s present. He’s the
number one overall pick. And after wearing three different
 college jerseys he’s wearing
that number one for the Tennessee Titans. John I’ll go
 to you first. What are
expectations do you think for cam Ward entering this season in
 Tennessee. Yeah. Right now he’s
just trying to familiarize himself with an offense right.
 There’s new terminology. There’s
new language. There’s new teammates. You know they’ve
 retooled the offensive line with
you know with Dan Moore at left tackle signing him in free
 agency. Zeitler in free agency.
They’re moving Latham over to right tackle. So he and he’s
trying to get you know on pace
with those guys on the same page with those guys. Get the
 chemistry between the receivers.
You know the timing of the routes, all of that stuff.
 Learning the terminologies, the
checks, all of that stuff. But I think, you know, expectations
are you want to take first and
foremost, you want to take care of the football, right? You want
to try to put the offense in an
advantageous position by taking care of the football. If it’s
not there, take what the defense
gives you. Keep the offense moving and try to put him in a
 position to score points. Yeah,
I agree, I mean, you talk about an offense that was at the
bottom of the league. These guys
were at the bottom of the league and total offensive production
bottom of the league in passing
yards, bottom of the league in touchdowns. So you know I think
 about I get a visual I’m a
visual guy. So I get a visual of like the bobsled team remember
 remember remember bobsled. Yeah
okay. Anyway so when you start talking about the Boston team,
there’s a dude named Sanka right
after Team Jamaica. And they struggle just trying to get
Sanka to get in the doggone into
bobsled. Right. So you’re just talking bobsled. You’re talking
 about Cool Runnings. Cool
runnings okay okay. Yeah. For the bobsled. Yeah. So Cool
 Runnings. Yeah. They’re just
trying to get that thing going. And they spent so much time just
trying to get in the vehicle.
Once they got in the bobsled, then they can start working on
strategy and trying to get this
thing down there for some actual speed. That’s what the Tennessee
Titans are trying to do right
now. They are just trying to get in the bobsled. And once they
get in, then they can start fine
tuning it. But right now and where they’ve been, they’ve been
at the bottom of the league. So
they just got to find a way to get this thing rolling. And then
 they can start working on
production and how they’re going to look versus the rest of the
 league. Man. Cool runnings
reference my audio dropped out. So I didn’t hear the question.
So I just going to pick it up
from the lower third. Sure. Expectations for sure. Sanders
 rookie season. Well cheddar was
drafted really late. It was surprising to everybody. But I
don’t know if you saw this.
Cheddar was seven of nine passing in minicamp yesterday
for the Browns. He threw three
touchdowns. So cheddar is going to be great. And Cheddar and
 Shudder and Shudder. Guys I
can’t believe we actually see the words cam Ward on the bottom
 of a television screen. Any
television screen. Are they even covering him in local Tennessee
 media? Is the Nashville local
media outlets covering cam Ward, or are they just talking cheddar
 too? I cannot believe someone
has not pulled the plug yet. We’re talking about him, his
 expectations, I don’t know. It’s
probably been incredible because he’s the most gifted
 quarterback. He’s the best
quarterback by far in a draft that had several quarterbacks.
There was not even a single
second of debate about who should go number one, and we’ll
 debate anything about the draft.
And yet that number one, pick, the consensus of all consensus
 is, is like a, I don’t know,
slow start. Maybe he gets 4 or 5 wins this year. I hope he goes
 17 and zero I don’t care. I hope
he’s in the Super Bowl. There’s no bigger fan than me. I can’t
 believe we’re still out. No
one’s coming with the shepherd’s hook and pulled me off the air.
Yet to stop talking about cam
Ward, so I appreciate the question, but cheddar is going
to be a superstar. His dad is
Deion Sanders. He played at Colorado. He played with Travis
Hunter. He’s going to be amazing
for Cleveland. That’s the most important thing when you think
 about cam Ward. I’m still
relieved that when Commissioner Goodell read the number one
 pick, he didn’t say the
Tennessee Titans select Cam Sanders quarterback. It never
happened that way. I heard a
rumor that if you go on NFL Shop.com and order a cam Ward
jersey, they send you a Sanders
jersey from the Browns. So it’s all true. And I just think it’s
we should really focus more on
shudder. Never mind the number one overall pick. Why are you so
bothered by this. This has been
brewing for you. And that was a wonderful stage that you just
stood on and spouted. But you
have been building on this for a while. Kyle, why is this so
triggering for you? I mean, it’s
well past brewing. Jamie. It’s overflowing lava on the floor.
Listen, the NFL draft went from
a football thing this year to a ridiculous, asinine media story
in which I really mean it. Cam
Ward’s name is two syllables. And when Roger Goodell said,
 cam, everyone just starts
screaming about shudder. We didn’t even get through the full
 name. And now the treatment
afterwards is just like, I’ve never seen less attention ever
in my life. On a number one
overall pick quarterback ever. Eric Fisher, the lineman from
 Central Michigan, went number
one overall. He got talked about more than this incredible
 quarterback from Miami. So I’ve
been soapboxing this for a long time. I’ll continue to do it,
but I love that we have that
logo and that name on the bottom of the screen, and it won’t be
the last time we had a slingshot
on the show last hour, and I’m surprised by the time that was
done. John didn’t have a hook to
get Kyle off the screen just right. Just stop talking about
he’s Mr. Titan. I know he got
there. We talked about expectation for Cam Ward’s
rookie season okay. And seen the
Jets also have a new quarterback. They signed Justin
 Fields earlier this year. And
their new head coach Aaron Glenn, thinks the ceiling is
high for the former first round
pick. He has this quiet confidence about himself. He
leads, by the way he wants to
lead, right? His influence with the guys out there, I think you
guys can see it. He can
galvanize a group of men. Listen, obviously he’s a
 talented player and I’m happy
that I have him as my quarterback. I really am,
because I think I think the
sky’s the limit for this player. I really do listen. I’m not
going to go out there and say
that he’s the next Joe Namath or anything like that. But I will
tell you what, man, he’s going
to be a good player for us, and I’m excited what he’s going to
do for us this season. All
right. From the bears to the Steelers. Now to the Jets Justin
 Fields has some potential, at
least if you ask Aaron Glenn. That’s what he thinks. John,
what do you think of what Justin
Fields can make of this opportunity with the Jets? Yeah,
I actually love what Aaron said
right there. Right. Because I mean, you can see the talent and
the skill that Justin had when
he came out of Ohio State. You can see it in spurts with
 Chicago and with Pittsburgh,
what he can do on the field physically, but the ability to
 galvanize the huddle. Right.
It’s one thing as a quarterback, when you get the play call to
step in the huddle and just
start spouting off words, it’s another thing to get the other
ten guys that are standing there
looking at you in the eye to believe that that play is going
to work, that that play is going
to get us closer to the end zone, that that play is going to
put us in the end zone. There’s
like a moxie that you have to have to be a really good
 quarterback to be a winning
quarterback, to get guys to believe in what the play is
called and put that on us, on
them to go do their job to the best of their ability to help
the team try to score points and
win the football game. Yeah, John, you talk about that
ability to step in the huddle
that that’s a real thing, right? Everything he just explained is
 absolutely correct. When you
step in there, you have to have a command, right? You talk about
the presence. You talk about the
ownership of those ten men, men that are looking at you because
 you are giving them the
directions. You’re giving them their responsibilities for that
 particular play. They have to
know that they have confidence in you. You have to know that
 you have confidence in yourself.
And I think that I believe that that he has never had any doubt
 in his abilities. Right. It’s
always been just a consistency of his production, and he has to
go out there and prove that this
year, with the Jets for the first time, you know, really in
his in his career outside of
just his Chicago experience, he is the man. He’s the man. He’s
 not looking over his shoulder.
He’s not worried about who’s coming up behind him. Everybody
is looking at him to be the
leader. So to your to Aaron Glenn’s point, AJ’s sitting
 there talking about he has
command of this team. These guys believe in him. He’s going to be
good for us. I don’t care what
he’s been for the other organizations, for what we’re
doing and for what we need to
get done out there on the field. He’s our guy, and I look forward
to seeing what he’s going to do.
As long as the head coach has confidence, as long as his
 teammates have confidence, then
we all we’re just sitting back Yeah. Fraternal twins Todd
 Bowles and Baker Mayfield. Baker
Mayfield is Todd Bowles intrusive thoughts I think as
 the translation for that as
well. Isaiah, what do we make of this knowing Todd Bowles a great
coach in the NFL. But as he
said, if he had an outgoing personality, which that’s not
 coach’s style. So Isaiah, what
have we got on Baker and Todd? You know what I know Todd Bowles
I had him one of our coaches out
there in Dallas back in the day. I think Todd Bowles has buried
 his Baker Mayfield deep down
inside and vowed to never bring it up again. But I think that
Todd Bowles is a very confident
person, right. He doesn’t do a whole lot of talking, but he’s
 confident he’s about his
business. And I think that on the inside, whenever his defense
goes out there and makes plays,
he is probably visually doing exactly what you see Baker
Mayfield doing. So when he says
that they’re fraternal twins, I think that is exactly what he’s
 referring to. John. Yeah, I
think that’s a great point. Isaiah. We practiced against the
Bucs a couple times when I was
with the Titans. And Todd is like he’s got quiet confidence
about him. He’s not a yeller or
a screamer on the field. He just kind of goes about his business.
He’s watching the team. You know
he’s coaching the team when it needs to be coach. You know
 meanwhile you know Baker
Mayfield harken back to his college days. He’s planting the
flag in the middle of the O.
When they beat Ohio State Todd probably has that that you know
that want to plant the flag in
the middle of the field somewhere. It just doesn’t act
on it. So it’s really cool that
they have this relationship and they can play off each other.
And Baker can be the let the
inner Todd Bowles come out through his actions. And it
 really has. Todd’s loosened up
the last couple of years. He said funny things. He breaks up
 the press conference room
sometime. Give me back the side by sides. I want to do an
 examination. If we buy that,
these guys are in any way twins, if we see the side by sides and
the left and right of Todd
Bowles and Baker Mayfield. All right. So let’s just go to the
box score okay. On the right you
have a 60 something new Jersey native who went to college in
 Philadelphia. On the left you
have a 30 year old from Austin who went to college in Texas and
 Oklahoma. Bowles was a
quarterback. Baker was a quarterback. Bowles was
 undrafted. Baker is the number
one overall pick. Bowles has three sons. Baker’s a girl. Dad,
Bowles is a Scorpio. Baker is an
Aries. Other than that, I see it perfectly aligned. You can’t
even tell them apart. There’s a
few things that spit in the wind of this comparison, but
 otherwise it lines up
beautifully. And Todd Bowles, I love that you’re showing your
 personality. Baker I think top
to bottom, one of the best, if not the best dude in the entire
league. I love Baker and I’m
starting to love Todd Bowles even more. John, if you had this
guy, this Todd Bowles, who’s a
defensive head coach and you have the number one overall pick
at the quarterback, we just got
done last hour talking about the Cowboys and how it might not be
 that important for Brian
Schottenheimer and Micah Parsons to be, you know, best buddies
all the time. But now you have
Todd Bowles just waxing poetic about Baker Mayfield, how great
he is. That’s got to be pretty
cool to see guys that don’t have to get along that well. And Todd
Bowles is out there on a limb
just campaigning for his quarterback. Yeah, it’s great
 because I mean, we’re talking
about the most important position in sports, right?
 Quarterback. Right. We talked
about it earlier this week on the show. The head coach and the
 quarterback, that relationship
it’s paramount that that that that that that’s a good one. And
it sounds like they’ve got a
great one down in Tampa. So how does the dynamic change. Let’s
say Bowles and Baker are in the
room hanging out. And then the door busts open. And here comes
 general manager Jason Light and
his AC DC t shirt. And he’s got it all sunburned and everything.
And he comes in. How does the
dynamic change then? Because the Tampa Bay crew is wild. Oh
 they’re great. I mean Jason
Greeny, Mike Beale, all those guys down there I wasn’t there
when, when Todd was there, he
came after me. But they’ve got a really, really cool working
 dynamic down there with with
Todd, with Jason, with with Greeny, with Baker. It’s you’re
 talking about guys that love
ball. And when it all boils down, they all love being around
 each other. They love football
and working towards winning the championship. And when it all
boils down, each of the last two
years, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have beaten the Philadelphia
 Eagles, including last year when
they held Saquon in check. And Baker went nuts. This question
of like, who’s the team that
could take out Philadelphia next year? Tampa Bay should be the
 number one answer, not number
two, not number three. They are great against the Eagles and
they have the defensive line to
stop the tush push. So we’ll talk about that in the fall. But
I love Tampa this year John
mentioned some practice from favorite moment in a football
 game. It means the confusion,
electricity and the unknown. It’s going for two. And we’re
doing that now on Gmfb. What’s
up Travis Hunter? Second overall pick. We didn’t know it the
 Jacksonville Jaguars until
moments before. Now he’s showing his skills on defense. We heard
 the defensive coaches are asking
Liam Coen for more time with Travis Hunter on the defensive
side of the ball. And that play
would be one of the reasons why. So going for two, we got two
 topics here. We’re going to
start going to stay in the state of Florida. We’re going to start
 in Jacksonville. How hype should
we get over this play. Isaiah when you see the cell phone
 video footage of Travis Hunter
popping off on defense. Well you guys saw me on on the Travis
 Hunter hype train yesterday. I
was I’m standing on the hill. I’m standing on business saying
that this dude is going to be
one of the premier players in the NFL. Obviously from not only
from what he did in college, but
I just think that he is an athlete who hasn’t had to deal
 with the business aspect of
football yet. So he really just loves playing the game. And this
dude is super talented. What you
saw on that film, on that little footage right there is him
 playing that sticky defense. I
talked about Gary Payton and the glove earlier where he is that
on the defensive side of the
ball, he knows the route concepts. He knows how to get in
and out of their breaks. He’s
staying on the hip pocket, finds the ball, breaks it up and is
able to make a play on it. He’s
going to be a problem for anybody’s receiver. I don’t care
one all the way down to four on
the depth chart. He’s going to be in your nightmares. Yeah. Is
it too late to change the Madden
cover. Like can we do that. Let’s get Saquon. You had two
days on it. Put Travis Hunter on
not only based on that play and my changing my AFC South
 champion the Houston Texans.
They’re out. They didn’t draft Hunter. The Jaguars will win the
AFC South based on that play. I
also think that Travis Hunter should right now hold out for
his next contract. I think he
should already be asking for a bigger extension now before he’s
played a game based on that
play. John, I know you’re a lover of talent and raw
 athleticism like that. That may
be the greatest play in NFL history. Tell me I’m wrong.
Yeah, I mean I don’t want to be
Debbie Downer here. What on this look. But if upon further review
what if you really look at this
play. Yeah. Come on. All right. We’re going to slow it down.
Yes. Let’s slow it down so the
ball hits the ground. Definitely incomplete. Right. So it’s an
 incomplete pass. Definitely the
ball hits the ground. I’m not saying it’s not a great play,
but the ball’s on the ground.
Incomplete pass. Right. And like if you if you if you go back a
 little further the back judge
might actually get a penalty here. Because if you look at
 Travis’s left hand, he’s it’s
probably on the other. It’s probably on the other shot.
 Yeah. Like he’s tugging the
jersey definitely with his left hand. The Jags might regret that
draft pick I’m not I’m not. They
might have got the wrong guy. I don’t know. No listen I’m not
saying it’s not a great play but
watch the see the jersey pulled right there. Like the jersey
 stretching. Like they might let
him they might let that go. But look right there. Look at the
eight. It looks scrunched. It is
it is. Penalty hold penalty. Terrible play. Now I’ll say
this. The ability of Travis to
get his head back around when the receiver’s looking back and
play back through the hands. All
great. Yeah, but it’s definitely incomplete. And it’s possibly a
 defensive pass interference.
Just duck hunting. Just shoot him all the way down right now.
 John, is this your baseline
personality? Like, everyone’s freaking out about something and
John’s like, hold up. Let me
just give you a reality check about this. Is this how you
 operate your life? Normally, I
need to know this about you. Oh, yeah. Probably. Yeah. I’m a
little bit of an analyzer. I
like that, yeah. I mean, I just want to try, you know, it’s. I’m
 sitting there watching this
thing last night, and it’s, like, viral everywhere on every
social media. And I’m like, let
me first off, I’m not real tech savvy. So let me figure out how
to slow this thing down on X.
And I’m starting to slow it down and analyze it. You know, like
they would in the booth. Like, I
don’t even know if you have to challenge this one. Like, this
is just going to be a quick
review and it’s at least going to be an incomplete pass. I like
the J-rob is on Broadway last
night. He’s there watching wicked. He’s on his phone
 watching a replay of Travis
Hunter while they’re singing popular up there, the most
talented people in the world. It
was during the. It was during the intermission, man. Everybody
was going to get popcorn. The
intermission. I need to know if you were on the other end of the
replay assist and you saw the
play and you watched it back, are you going to say incomplete,
 daddy, I don’t know. He didn’t
catch that. He didn’t catch that. Daddy, ball’s on the
 ground. Daddy. All right. Oh
man. It’s perfect. All right Jacksonville to Miami. Tua
 Tagovailoa this has become a
trend now with the quarterbacks All right. Stand back here at
the table. You live in Dallas.
You work for the Cowboys on Sundays. You do pregame show,
 postgame show, everything.
You’re in the building. Yeah. How important is it for this,
 not only this Micah Parsons
situation to go well this offseason, but for those two
guys that we just saw, Parsons
and Schottenheimer to start off on the right foot in this new
regime in Dallas, you know what?
I think that there’s going to be a lot made about the
 relationship between
Schottenheimer and Micah Parsons. I honestly don’t
believe that they have to be in
sync now. Do they need to be cordial? Do they need to be
 friendly? All those things, of
course. Right. Just from the leadership perspective, you have
the head coach and you have the
leader on the defensive side of the ball. They need to be on one
 page. However, the people that
that that he needs to be in in sync with really is Aaron
Whitecotton, who is going to be
the defensive line coach for the Dallas Cowboys. He was formerly
with the New York Jets. He’s
considered to be the guru of d linemen in the league. He needs
to be in sync with Micah
Parsons. Micah Parsons also needs to be in sync with Matt
 Eberflus. Those are the two
gentlemen that Micah Parsons is going to be working with hand in
hand, day in, day out, sitting
in the meeting rooms with and getting instructions from Brian
 Schottenheimer is simply the
manager of men at this point, and he’s really going to be on
the offensive side of the ball.
So it’s nice if those guys have a great relationship because
 obviously their best player on
defense and the head coach. But at the end of the day, Micah
 Parsons is a defensive player
and needs to be working with the defensive coordinator and a
 defensive line coach. That’s
where he needs to be tight and that’s why he needs to be in the
 building. What do you think,
 J.R? Yeah, I mean, I think it’s I think it’s extremely
 refreshing to start with for
Micah to come out and say, hey, I’m going to be there in a world
of nil and portal, where college
guys are jumping here because they want more money. Or, you
know, in the NFL, guys are
holding out or holding in for more money. Mike is in. He’s
like, I’m going to be there.
 Like I want to win a Super Bowl. I’ve got a playbook. I haven’t
 missed anything in four years.
Yeah, I think it’s important for Schottenheimer and him to be on
the same page shot. He’s been in
this league a long time. He’s been with the Cowboys for what,
three four years now? Now in a
new role as a head coach. But the contract will take care of
itself in due time. I think
we’ve seen historically that with Dallas, you know, whether
it was KD or whoever, over time,
these things, it takes a little time to play out and it’ll get
 done. But it’s just refreshing
for a younger player in the league, an impact player in the
league, probably one A or one B.
Most important players on this Dallas Cowboys roster to have
this approach to his job. So I’m
excited. I’m excited for, you know, just the overall concept
of this of him putting it out
there. I’m going to be there for my teammates and ready to work.
I love the take, and I want to
call just a brief intermission in this segment, if you will, a
 brief intermission. You’re a
talent evaluator for many, many years in the NFL, what would you
say is a higher talent level?
Micah Parsons or Elphaba and Glinda? The two leads in Wicked
Witch J. Rob saw on Broadway
last night here in New York with his daughters. Break it down for
 us. Brief intermission. Floor is
yours. I’m going to say, you know, I mean, I’ve been around
 football forever. I’ll go on.
It’s probably that’s my jam is football. I’m going to say Micah
 Parsons. Okay. But it’s close.
But the two I forgot their characters names. Elphaba and
 Glinda. Yes. Extremely
impressive. You know, I thought I would be asleep within the
first hour. 15. But I made it
the entire time. There’s a cool storyline not to ruin it for
anybody that hasn’t seen it, but
you were the last person to not have seen it, J.R. Yes, yes, I
like that you were out there.
Everyone thinks J. Rob will never be on Broadway seeing
wicked. Look at you. I was in
there at the program and everything. See, he’s defying
 gravity and expectations. I
actually have something interesting I’m doing tonight,
too, in New York, but I’ll save
it for later in the show. Ask me later. Back to the Cowboys. I’m
going to pick up where I left
off. This is a fantastic tweet from Micah Parsons. I have no
 snarky response, no skeptical
comeback. Bring up the tweet again. This is all positive.
 There’s 26 exclamation points.
I’ll be there. I never miss teammates. Playbook preparation
and that he’s not any sucker
either. He’s still saying it’s in the owner’s hands. He calls
out the Jones family and then he
says Super Bowl I. I am so encouraged by this. At a time
when it could have gone really
negative and dark, and when it seems like everything is and
 always with the Cowboys, it’s
going to be money this and hold out this. He zagged hard on
this. This is a positive thing
to say that I will be there. I do want to be paid but teammates
support like I feel like this
should be put up on a banner somewhere as everyone to look at
 just a positive sentiment about,
I understand you want to get your money and you should, but
there are ways to go about it.
You’re not doing some petty nonsense like unfollowing the
 team on Instagram or
Subtweeting. He just says no. He screams I’m there! I love my
teammates. I want to win a Super
Bowl. Please pay me, but do it. I mean, I’m in New York. It’s
 like Tom Thibodeau just gets
fired. It’s all over the back. I can’t even turn around the other
side of the newspaper. It’s so
bad and so offensive and so disgusting. I won’t even show it
to you. Micah Parsons, who gets
the media, who understands how to work it, I think has never,
 ever worked it better.
Everyone’s in his corner now and everyone’s going to be like,
 Micah, you’re right. You should
get paid. You’re great. And look at what a great attitude you
 have. Great, great media by
Micah Parsons I’m impressed and proud. I agree with you. One
 thing about Micah Parsons, he’s
a one heck of a competitor. yesterday. Are we going to see
the same for some of the
league’s pass rushers. Everyone’s looking for a new
 deal. These guys just were
talking about it J.R. And Isaiah. Where is this going to
 rank amongst Myles Garrett T.J.
Watt absent from OTAs Micah Parsons present at OTAs. But
these two guys after their first
four seasons their their their stats are ridiculous. Here’s how
they stack up. You got nearly 50
sacks each on average between the two of them, a ton of
 tackles for loss, getting after
the quarterback all the time. And their peers recognize it
 because they’re making a handful
of Pro Bowls. Kyle, I know you appreciate the fact that
 yesterday I was on the
Pittsburgh Post Gazette local podcast, and I was part of that
 conversation. I always like to
check in with my local, you know, people. And they were they
 were asking they were curious
where the T.J. Watt national conversation. Is he due a Myles
 Garrett contract? What do they
do about that? I asked the question to the guy Kyle, and
I’ll ask you really quick is I
can’t imagine the last name what T.J. Watt playing in any other
jersey or any other color than
the black and gold. It must get done. But do you have a response
 to that Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
question that you think that this T.J. Watt deal will get
 done sooner than later? It’s
hard to imagine. They typically don’t let guys like that go.
 It’s a Hall of Famer. He’s a
born and raised Steeler. Here’s the problem with T.J. Watt. And
there is one. T.J. Watt has
never won a playoff game. And it’s a crazy thing to say.
 Mickey Fitzpatrick has never won
a playoff game. There’s problems with their team at large where
it’s not all rosy and Merry and
Steeler land. You know the era we’re in right now, they get in
 the playoffs and lose every
single year. A guy that good has never won a playoff game is
crazy. But it’s listen I think
that they will not let him leave. He is a born and bred
Steeler. You know you saw JJ
leave and play with Arizona at the end. But I wouldn’t compare
 the Houston Texans to the
Pittsburgh Steelers and how they do business. So there’s a lot of
 ways to unpack this. But
obviously with the Steelers thing kind of all roads lead to
 the quarterback right Isaiah
yeah I believe so. But when you look at the situation that they
have there with T.J. Watt, T.J.
Watt is the defense for the Pittsburgh Steelers. So you
 start talking about the identity
right outside of outside of T.J. Watt is Cameron Heyward. Those
are the two guys that you think
about when you think about the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. And
 we know Heyward is getting
towards the end of his career. He’s been in the league for a
minute. So you have to have T.J.
Watt. He is the person who elicits the pressure on the
defensive side of the ball. He
is the red dot guy. He’s the guy that you highlight whenever
 you’re watching film in
preparation to go against this opponent. So you absolutely have
to have him. And it’s surprising
that we’re starting to see these things. Negotiation issues
 seemingly in the city of
Pittsburgh. Obviously they get rid of George Pickens. They
 obviously bring in DK Metcalf.
You know, the quarterback situation. They haven’t
 necessarily settled on that. And
now you have somebody who you can sign their contract
 seemingly in your sleep because
he’s just been that type of player for you and that type of
 representative for your brand.
And he still doesn’t have a new deal. So there’s words, there’s
 grumblings that there’s
something on the table, but nothing has been signed. But you
would think that this deal would
have been done a long time ago for somebody that has
represented the brand in is the
brand of the Pittsburgh Steelers and has the impact that T.J.
 Watt has. Yeah, that’s a great I
mean Isaiah you teed it up for me I’m going to try to keep it
in the fairway. The Cam Heyward
I mean we just went through this a year or so ago with cam right.
Like he was. Is he going to
retire I need a new contract. And they figured it out. I agree
with all points that have been
made that T.J. Watt is a Steeler. They’ll figure it out.
You know, at the end, they’ll
figure a way to keep him around and the defense go. They don’t
get a quarterback or you know if
Rodgers let’s just say Rodgers does sign then you know they’ve
 got some offensive firepower
here. If they don’t then they’re going to win with the defense.
And they’re going to need T.J.
Watt. They’re going to need all of those guys. Harmon the rookie
to come on and play. So I expect
this thing to get done. I like it and we’re going to get it
done here. Drew Jamie, you know
we’re a living, breathing show ain’t never seen no like that.
There it is. It’s a play that is
memorialized on the Madden 26 NFL cover. It’s the Saquon
 Barkley reverse hurdle, the leap
now known as one of their Lombardi moments for the
 Philadelphia Eagles. Our own
Isaiah Stanback now has come up with his own top five list in
 the. He did what category
Isaiah. You got top five. 54321. We’re going to interject when we
have a thought about these. But
take it away NFL history. All right. We’re going to NFL
 history. Y’all now understand
this. There are a gazillion honorable mentions. There have
 been so many amazing players
that have been in this league. So many amazing plays. Offense,
 defense, special teams. There’s
no way that you can get this thing down to five. But some
way, somehow I had to create my
list, right? This is not your list. This is my list. So I want
you guys to go ahead and on
social partake in this. But there’s this thing here called a
remote control. And back in the
day we had this thing called DVR. I’m not sure if they still
have it or not, but every now
and then there was a play that happens that you grab your
remote control and you say, bro,
he just did what? And you just got to hit the button and rewind
that thing. Just you just can’t
believe it. Let’s go ahead and get to this top list. Number
five on my list. What happens
when you mix somewhat of a Simone Biles, you know, best
gymnast in the world with the
NFL. Let’s go ahead and take a peek. Wide open and a flipped
into the end zone by Jerome
Simpson. Oh goodness this is outstanding. It’s one thing to
leap over a guy. It’s another
thing to finish the flip on your feet. Well you don’t get style
points in the NFL, but that
ought to be worth eight. Listen I watched that and I was like,
bro, he just did what? Ain’t no
way that he just ran and purposely did a front flip.
Sometimes you get hit and you
accidentally flip. No, he purposely did a front flip over
 another grown professional human
being who gets paid to do his job and stuck the landing. Look
 at this. Airborne over. Barely
touched him, stuck the landing, got up and was like, voila!
 Magic. Listen. Shout out to
Jerome Simpson for even thinking about pulling that off and then
actually doing it at the highest
level of competition. All right. A lot of times every single year
we look at the combine and
everybody wants to see the 40 yard dash. And everybody who
 hasn’t been on the field
necessarily doesn’t understand the difference between A43 and
 A44. Well, on this particular
play, somebody had an interception and that individual
ran A44, but the individual that
was chasing him ran A43. Let’s see exactly what this looks
like. Is picked off at the goal
line. That’s Budda Baker Budda Baker out in front. And Metcalf
track him down. Can he chase him
down. And he does to save a touchdown. Watch the play here
by DK Metcalf. He is flying down
the field. It was unbelievable how much ground he made up.
Budda Baker could see him coming
in the big screen. He’s looking up at the screen going are you
kidding me? How do you catch my.
Yeah. Everything that he just said bro. What? Why have your
first two plays happened to the
Arizona Cardinals? What’s going on here? Vic Damone. Vic Damone
Jr, right now. Listen, this is
absolutely insane. Budda Baker is an absolute beast of a
 player. Everybody knows that he
runs a four, four, five. But the guy that was chasing him not
 only was determined. DK Metcalf
is a physical specimen. And when you take somebody who is
 determined, who is tenacious and
who just happens to be ten yards behind somebody. Look at him,
hawk him down. He’s running for
forever. Almost 100 yards. Budda Baker peaks. Wait wait wait wait
 what? Right there. That’s
exactly the face that we’re all making. And you see Budda Baker
right there. His result of that
absolutely amazing play. Now you guys know I’m a Seattle guy. And
Seattle is one of the natural
disasters is an earthquake right. So there’s this thing
 called the seismograph. And
usually whenever the earth starts shaking, right, it shows
up on the Richter scale. You’re
able to see exactly what’s going on. Well, there was a human
being who made a play that that
the crowd went so crazy that it showed up on the seismograph.
Let’s take a peek. The crowd
silent now, as opposed to when the Saints have the ball. Oh,
look at this run. What a run.
Marshawn Lynch still on his feet has blockers. Now he’s dancing
his way for the touchdown. Oh
that’s as good an effort as I’ve ever seen in my life from a
running back. Get off me, he
says to Tracy Porter. Are you kidding me? What a run. An
 amazing effort by Marshawn
Lynch. Are there not bro. What? I was on the sideline for that
game. I was actually on the
roster for the Seahawks. Wasn’t necessarily suited up for that
game, but I sat there and I
watched this play. It was a wild card game. Okay. This game, this
this play right here was to send
them to the next round of the playoffs. And he was not going
 to be stopped. Everybody knows
Marshawn Lynch is not going to go down easy. But when you start
throwing grown men out the club
after you’ve been running, after you have human beings hanging on
your ankles, and then you still
have the gall to jump up and do the best poster shoot next to
 Michael Jordan. It was
absolutely insane. The crowd went crazy, and forever and ever
he will be known as Beast Mode
because of the beast quake that he created. Now those are three
of them at the bottom three
right there. Now we got to get to the top two. The top two.
There is this character back in
the day called Stretch Armstrong. I don’t know, some of
 y’all might remember him, but
Stretch Armstrong was somebody that everybody kind of tried to
 embody. And when you Stretch
Armstrong with the football game, what do you get? And
 Manning’s going to heave one.
He’s oh there’s a flag. Beckham catch one handed catch. How in
the world oh my goodness insane.
How do you make that catch. This is sick. Put this to music. That
 is absolutely impossible. What
he just did. That may be the greatest catch I’ve ever seen in
 my life. It’s in the
conversation. Wow. Listen, bro. What? I don’t understand how he
even got his body there. I’m not
sure how he was able to track the ball. And he is so
 particular about following the
ball with his eyes. This was not just throw your hand up and hope
that you catch it. He literally
tracks this ball all the way behind his head. Look at his
eyes. He tracked it as far back
as he possibly can. His eyes went to the back of his head and
he was still able to see the
ball. Snag it with his six L XL hands. Bring the ball down,
secure the catch and get up and
let the crowd know, yeah, I am that dude. Now, if you guys are
 watching this, you guys are
probably wondering if OBJ is number two, then who the heck is
number one? Yeah, well, I had to
go deep, deep into the films, right? NFL films. There was a
gentleman who was a rookie who
just happened to make a play on one of the greatest safeties of
all times by the name of Brian
Dawkins. This guy’s name, Jonathan Baldwin. Take a look.
Castle on the play. Action going
up top. And that’s caught. What a catch. What a grab by the
 rookie Jonathan Baldwin. Look at
Jonathan Baldwin reach around his back. Catch this right
between his numbers. Pins it to
his back. Pulls him and the football down. You won’t see a
 better catch than that. The
entire NFL season. Wow. Not only the entire NFL season, but
 probably in the history of
everything. Listen up. That was not by chance. That was not
luck. This was skill. This was
him tracking the ball, understanding that there was one
of the greatest players ever to
play the game, standing between him and what he needed to come
down with. And he said, this is
my moment. And he went out there and secured the catch, grabbed,
 literally caught it and then
pinned it against B Dawkins. And if we watch the end of the play,
Brian Dawkins, he is so confused
because he gets up, he doesn’t know whether to touch him,
whether to tackle him or do what
he’s like. There’s no way this guy just made this play, because
I literally was between him and
the ball. In my opinion, one of the greatest players of all
time. I know there are a
gazillion other ones that could be on the list, but this is my
list. I would love to hear your
feedback, Kyle. Excellent list. It will make my summer ending
list of top five top five list.
I love it. You know what’s funny? Isaiah Tracy Porter who
got stiff arms by Marshawn Tracy
Porter has a game winning pick six of Peyton Manning in the
 Super Bowl. It’s the biggest
play you could possibly make. And he gets asked more about
 Marshawn. That’s a crazy crazy
thing J-rob what do you think. Well yeah and I know Matt Cassel
I love Matt Cassel. Our kids go
to school together. Yeah. And I you guys were on me earlier
 about analyzing things. Kass put
the ball out there. You threw it short of all things to take away
from that play, you had to make
Baldwin work extra hard for it. Awesome. That’s fantastic. John,
I think we have to rebrand this
to that. This is my moment. Top trend now with the quarterbacks
that he took over. The ox caught
on the Dolphins playlist at OTAs. And he went with the
 throwback vibe the quarterback
did for the Dolphins orange jersey playlist. Here we go. We
built this city by Starship. You
got Big Poppa by Notorious B.I.G. Return of the Mark
 Morrison and play that funky
music. Bust a move and then wow what? Finishing it all up with
the take on me. Ridiculous. Tua
Tagovailoa bonus edition of Whiteboard Wednesday. Everybody
get your arts and crafts out.
Pick your quarterback. Now that we know what Kirk Cousins is all
about, we know what Tua is all
about. Pick your quarterback and write your three songs that you
 think would be on their
playlist. Isaiah Stanback has been working on this thing for a
while, so I’ll let him go first.
All right. So my quarterback right off the bat is going to be
 Baker Mayfield Baker Mayfield.
This is my list right here number one. All right Baker
Mayfield I did my homework on
this. Baker Mayfield is a country song connoisseur. So I’m
going to go with Shaboozey a bar
song. Everybody getting tipsy. Then I’m going to go with Senior
 Rita from Justin Timberlake. He
is a Justin Timberlake fan. And when he first met his his now
wife, she didn’t want nothing to
do with him. So I think that if he listened to some game that
 Justin Timberlake was putting
down in Senorita and he learned how to how to pitch at her, and
then number three, I’m going to
go with Lil Jon. I just feel like he’s listening to Lil Jon
turn down for what before every
pregame to get himself hyped up. So those are my three songs a
little country, a little JT and
a Lil Lil Jon. Okay, okay. Go ahead John, what you got? Follow
that J Rob. My turn. Who’s your
go? I’m going out to LA with the Rams and Mr. Matt Stafford.
Matt’s a little bit of an old
school guy. You know I was with Ben Jones and he played with
with with Matt at Georgia. And
Ben was constantly rocking pregame courtesy of the red
white and blue. We’ll put a boot
in your know what by Toby Keith. So I’m going to go with courtesy
of the red white and blue for
number one. Number two, I think there’s a little bit of rock in
the guy. Hells bells. Yeah. The
dong dong ding ding dong. And then we’re then then we’re ready
to get practice going. So we’re
going Hells bells with AC, DC. And then once the juice is
 really flowing let’s go. We’re
going trick daddy. If you want some, come get some. If you want
it, let me know. Oh my God,
let’s go I love it. Why do I feel that wasn’t the Matthew
 Stafford that was the John
Robinson playlist? I feel like that was you, dude. May or may
not be. Certainly the first two
tracks. Trick daddy I know, I know, I can tell Trick Daddy.
All right. Isaiah, I think you
in particular are going to like mine. All right, I’m going to
go. I found this player. It’s
kind of a deep cut. I don’t even know if we have his name or
 picture or anything. I’m going
to go with a rookie quarterback, cam Ward for the team. I think
 they’re called the Titans. And
he went number one overall. So here’s cam Ward on the ox. First
thing we’re going to do first
thing we’re going to do is go to Nelly. And the first Nelly’s
first song. You think it’s gonna
be hot in here. No it’s I am number one. Let everybody know.
Cam Ward, you are number one.
You wear number one. I am number one. No matter if you like it.
Here. Take it. Sit down and
write it and speak it. That’s our banger they’re going to come
out with. Now we’re going to
slow it down a little bit. And Jamie, I’m looking in your
direction for this is the guy
who doesn’t get talked about. He doesn’t get any love. And at
some point he’s just not going
to take it anymore. Cam Ward I am beautiful no matter what they
 say. Christina Aguilera, no one
can bring me down, I have worth, I have inner beauty, I have
talents. We’re going to no dry
eye in the house when he’s doing this. And then number three,
we’re going to go to Destiny’s
Child. And he says this to everybody in the media, say my
name when no one is around.
You’re acting kind of shady. And calling me cheddar with cheddar
 almost looks like the word
shady. Tell me you love me and say my name. For God’s sake, say
his name. Say it with your
chest, Kyle. That’s what I’m talking about. Damn. Come on,
say, Titans, I love you. Glad
you didn’t go all the single ladies there. No, but listen,
 AFC South, I don’t think you’re
ready for that jelly. I’m telling you right now, cam Ward
 would be bringing it. Okay,
everybody hold up your whiteboards. Let’s see it one
 more time. Baker Stafford and
say his name. Cam Ward the number one overall pick to the
 Tennessee Titans. That’s what it
is. Grab your ox everybody. It’s training camp time. Oh, awesome
trick daddy. Off the top rope. I
like it, baby. Let’s go if you want it. Come and get it. Let me
 know. Let him know. That’s
photoshopped. Some people just It’s our turn. Why will this
 quarterback lead the league in
passing yards this season? Stop. Oh yes sir he’s got Zay flowers.
Oh no no no he’s got Andrews. Oh
nice. Let’s go. He’s been an MVP I know what the going on. Yeah
no doubt Lamar step back there
and sling it. Daddy what a Lamar. Step back there and sling
it daddy where did that just
come from. Still we’re still laughing and slinging. Daddy I’m
looking at a ringtone. Let’s go
look at that. Do it again. Press the button again. Can we do it?
Yes. Let’s go sling it. Daddy.
John, you had us rolling yesterday that hang with you.
What do you think about. You got
your own segment now. Yeah, I mean I get I get back to the
 hotel and they segment actually
landed when my girls got back from a workout class and they
 started dying laughing. And then
they started doing it. Sling it, daddy. But you’re they’re
 actually their daddy. Sling it.
Daddy, it’s my new text tone. It’s my new ring tone. The
people what you have. Show the
people what you have. Yeah. So here we go. Like, I mean, I’ve
 been outfitted with, like. I
mean, I got this thing here. Boom. That was off target.
Hopefully he’s got a whole thing
of ammunition a little bit better here. When he did it
right there. Slings it at it. So
yeah. Perfect. You fire it while we do the. We do the show. All
right. Here we go. We lost Kyle.
You shot Kyle out of the screen. Okay, so in the spirit of sling
it daddy, we have all come up
with a quarterback in NFL history that truly embodies the.
Just press the button. At this
point. This is like a radio show. Just sling it daddy back
 there and sling it. Daddy.
Perfect. John, who else do you think of when you say daddy?
Yeah, there was a there was a
lot of options. You know, I thought Culpepper because he had
the big cane and I thought, Vick
I went with Brett Favre. There were so many times when Brett
played the game, you know, he
would be I mean, nobody was covered when Brett would throw
it. I mean, he would he would
step back there and rip it into tight coverage. Sometimes double
coverage. But he was not afraid
to let that thing ride and sling it in there trying to score.
There is one right there. I
mean, he just rips it. Freeman Brett Favre, my all time
 slinging daddy guy back there
and sling it daddy follow that I like it I like it. That’s that’s
hard to follow up because when
you think about quarterbacks that are back there slinging it,
Brett Favre is definitely one of
the first ones to pop in your mind. But there was another one
and they just happened to play
for a rival team out there in the town of Chicago, aka Chi
Town. His name was Jay Cutler.
Jay Cutler to me was somebody who back there would just sling
it. Daddy. We knew that he
didn’t have any regard for the ball going down the field. He
 just knew that Brandon Marshall
or whoever else was going to be on the other end of that was
going to come down with the
play. He took risks all day, and he had what we call a cannon.
All right, let’s hear it. Step
back there and sling it daddy. Perfect. Oh my gosh I need
 control of that button. Hey,
there we go, Charles. Got it. All right, swing it. Daddy, Kyle
is the sling daddy. All right?
Mine is somebody who is currently on an NFL roster. And
it’s not the definition of big
cannon arm or anything like that. Kyle. Well done. Mine is
 deliver us from pick sixes
because no one has the slingshot daddy mentality more than Jameis
 Winston. When his back is
against the wall he will rise to the occasion. Step back there
 and sling it daddy Jameis
Winston sling it anywhere you want all over the field you are.
Oh come on come on. That’s the
one we’re going to pick for Jameis. Seriously we could have.
All right well sling it daddy
yeah. All right hit the button. Step back there and sling it
 daddy. Perfect Kyle. Yeah I’m
censoring myself right now I shouldn’t, but I am. This is so
fun I stole it from J-rob and
I’m turning into Legolas with this. Oh, that was terrible back
there. And sling it. I actually
hit the camera a little while ago and it rattled, but you
 guys, like, listen, I respect
all the answers. Jay Cutler you said Isaiah Jay Cutler, even on
 his own organization was a
checkdown game manager compared to my man Rex Grossman. Bring
Sexy Rexy. And as long as we’re
doing a segment called Sling It Daddy, we might as well have
Sexy Rexy. He was out here to
chuck to Bernard Berrian about 80 yards down the field, and if
he wasn’t covered or if he was
covered, I’m going to throw it. I’m going to do that old Steve
Spurrier run and gun. Look at
this in the orange jerseys. Is that Greg Olsen. No that’s not
Greg Olsen. This is in the Super
Bowl which they eventually lost. That’s Muhsin Muhammad give me
 the celebration. You lived and
died by the Rex. He gets. He’s an easy target. And which is
 ironic because often he couldn’t
hit one. But he was an MVP candidate over the first month
of the 2006 season. He was the
Offensive player of the Month in September. He takes a lot of
crap, but I’m a Rex Grossman
guy, I love it, I’m out of jobs, ammunition. I’m going to have to
collect it. But this segment has
been so fun. Thanks to you, bud. Absolutely. Yeah, it was great.
 You know Rex Grossman? Yeah,
Chuck and Chuck and duck, sling and daddy, whatever you want to
call it. Like this was. This was
fun. A lot of really deserving candidates for the Sling Daddy
 award. We’ve got four finalists.
What’s the trophy? Do you have a winner? Are we handing a
 slingshot to somebody? You got
to pick a winner. I got to pick a winner. Yeah, pick a zone.
Well, I can’t pick myself. Yeah,
like I’m going to go. I’m going to go with Kyle, okay? Because
of Rex and probably and two. So
I can hand him the annual first annual inaugural slingshot
 trophy. Sling it daddy award
here. Try to find some Kyle ammo. That’s you at NFL honors
 this year. J-rob. And the
slingshot goes to. And I don’t know if you want the sling shot
or not. Fire it. Go see. Not
bad. That’s better. Let me try these big ones. And then my hand
Kyle his trophy and let him do
bam for the winner. There you go. I just want to listen I want
to I want to thank Mr. John
Robinson for self-producing for giving us this segment. We’ll
 probably do it tomorrow. We’ll
do it next week. It will become an actual tradition and we’ll
can see bam! We will hand this
out. Thank you. J-rob. It’s not enough to just show up and give
answers. You got to produce on
the fly and you’re excellent at it. Thank you very much.
 Absolutely well done. It’s a
contribution to Gmfb. That’s it baby. That’s what I’m going to
be known for the rest of my
 life. Singing daddy.

What ever the titans are going nowhere just stop playing never going to win a Super Bowl anyway just give up
Kyle you spent the whole segment you were supposed to all about cam ward complaining about sanders coverage. You’re just as much of the problem as the rest of the media. You do this every time cam is brought up. Literally haven’t heard anything else from you about cam.
At this point…Lamar is NFL media
Gm
Kyle Brandt is the man
Titans could win 4 Superbowls in a row and the media still wouldnt give a sh*t. They would still talk about Mahomes and Taylor Swift and Josh Allen getting married and how they Hate Aaron Rodgers before they wrote about the Titans.
They should not let Job Robinson talk about the Titans without an "AJ Brown Trade Reminder" disclaimer. Set our organization back years.
Please replace Kyle he is very bad..and obnoxious..ANYONE would be better.
Dude hates sanders so much 4:12
Robinson should never talk about anything that has to do with our Titans ever again!!
Let's go Cam! Speak that truth Kyle.
TOP 5 WHAT HE DID SEGMENT’S # 1 WAS OUT DONE BY A COLLEGE PLAYER. NOAH BROWN PLAYED FOR OHIO STATE AND CAUGHT A TOUCHDOWN PASS THE SAME WAY AGAINST A OKLAHOMA PLAYER. THATS # 1.
It's the real world Kyle Brandt
As a Titan fan this is not the guy to ask about our team. Made the worst trade in our team history
No excuses but everytime we play buccs we have somthing going on last year we played them without AJ brown, Lame Johnson , and Devonte smith. We destroyed them in 2023 wen we wer full healthy and without saquon
Kyle shut up please the pandering is nauseous 🤢🤢🤢
Hi nfl my birthday is on the 12 of October and the best birthday present would to be able to go to the Steelers vs browns game it would be my first ever football game and if the Steelers win I will be so happy
Having JROB speak about the titans after single handily destroying the whole franchise is DIABOLICAL
Please add time stamps like you used to
This show cringy. Do they know what sling it daddy means
41:52 what's he say… re.. 😂 🤔
Jon Robinson needs to be banned from the NFL Network, talking about the Titans
JRob destroyed one of the greatest team the Tennessee Titans have ever had. Had back to back AWFUL drafts, traded AJ Brown for the worst bust in the last decade with Treylon Burks.. I’ve been a fan my whole life and I hate JRob with every fiber of my being. May he burn in hell..
John Matthew Stafford a definite sling it daddy nominee
Kyle you're part of the problem at this point man. Just talk about Cam at this point if you have anything to add to the conversation.
Ughh gonna stop watching after this second dude going off cam ward topic to talk about shadur
Kyle Just managed to Takeaway from Cam ward segment by doing the same thing he complained media did. 😅😅😂 Dia fuckn bolical.
How you complain that they don’t talk about cam but when you do it you still bring up sanders your a clown
I think Kyle trying to put the nfl on notice yall taking it wrong because yall sanders fans but it’s the truth NFL football has been centered on what’s going on with sanders cam deserves more attention than he’s getting
They need to trade Micah Parsons. The dude gets exposed in the run game and disappears in big games. And they already have a high paid player who disappears in big games in Dak Prescott.
Yeah if JF would have had CWilliams season with the Bears last year he would have been RailRoaded out of the league but for Williams – excuse after Excuse!!! Fields is as smooth as water running downhill!!! Go Justin Go!!!!!
Kyle you dont have to be mr funny guy. Sometimes just give mormal analysis. You dont have to be the bit guy. You seem like…. well like a poser
Guess Mike Tanunbaum bought to retire so they got to have a marginal GM take his place: Welcome
Jon R. 🤷♀️ Go Titans Go!!!
Jay Cutler was the most nonchalant thrower ever, but Ryan Fitzpatrick threw more "F it" balls than all QBs in NFL history combined.
After denvers defense destroys him. Hes gonna be shaking in his boots. Ducks he gotta play the best defense in the league game 1 lol
