Scotty Sheoffller added another trophy to his remarkable 2025 season on Sunday, securing victory at the prestigious Memorial Tournament. The win marks his third title of the year, further cementing his dominance at the top of the official world golf rankings. The 28-year-old star had already claimed wins at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the PGA Championship in May. At Murefield Village, Sheffler delivered a commanding performance, finishing 10 under par and leaving runnerup Ben Griffin four strokes behind. Fellow competitor Jordan Spe, who tied for seventh place alongside Brandt Snedker, Tom Hog, Ricky Fowler, and Keegan Bradley, was full of praise for Sheffller. Speaking to the media ahead of Sunday’s final round, Speath did not hold back in acknowledging Sheffller’s brilliance. I’m not going to pretend I’ve ever had the kind of ball striking or consistency he’s shown,” said Spath. “His club face control is elite, maybe the best we’ve ever seen.” Spe went on to highlight what sets Sheffller apart. His flawless tempo, elite control, and remarkable consistency, all of which allow him to hit pinpoint shots round after round. With 16 career wins and three major championships, Sheffler is now one of the sport’s most formidable figures. Eyes are now turning to the upcoming US Open and Open Championship, as a victory in either could push him closer to joining the exclusive career Grand Slam Club. To date, only six golfers, including legends like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicholas, and most recently Rory Mroy, have captured all four majors during their careers. Notably, Mroy needed 17 tries before finally conquering Augusta and earning his green jacket. Sheffller’s current trajectory suggests he might just be next in line. Spe on the other hand flirted with a grand slam of his own at last month’s PGA Championship.
