[Music] Greatest media team is bringing to you the east coast metal roofing. Welcome to the jungle back n I’m Kyle Morardi joined here by ride the smartcon the creator greatest media team. We are excited to bring you this. We got our title sponsors east coast metal roofing. We got other sponsors like Disc Golf 978, Disc Mania, First Available, Brandon Apparel, Amplified Insurance, Disc IQ. Priv, how are you doing today? I’m good. It’s Championship Sunday. I’m excited to see who’s going to win the Welcome to the Jungle Tournament as our MP40 field has already finished up. This is it. This is exciting to see the final nine here. Yeah, we got um a lot of things happening here. Coming off with a little bit of a a slow front nine. So, we’re looking to start things going, get him really light a fire under our behinds here. Hole 10 downhill 270 OB behind the basket. This hole is certainly one that you’re wanting to get off the tea, but you are not wanting to go deep of. It’s coming in at a 2.96. The OB really doesn’t come into play unless you overcommit, I feel like. And on a shot like what Debo had, that’s like the perfect play. Kind of hit it early and not overcommit. Yeah. You know, you can get some rolls that go down there, but it is definitely something where if you just throw a slightly off shot, you get punish hard. You were going with your practis there, I’m assuming. Yeah, I was going with practis just a little low and you know playing the skip play is a very common thing but sometimes you do get caught up. Okay, so he’s going forehand here. I like the play. I feel like this is the bailout play. I’ve seen a couple players do this now. Yeah, it puts you in a nice spot. It’s very hard to park the basket, but it usually gives you a putt. You see Justin throwing his zone here and looking for a nice check up and that it does. Oh, and even favorable roll pin high. Yeah. Yeah. So, make a forehand really helps a lot because you’re going to get that type of reaction more than you would on a backhand I feel like. Yep. Yeah. You get that, you know, nice little extra spin on it. Let it go down a little bit. When you hit early, you have to kind of throw a crazy up shot. And here you go with your harp, which never really rolls on you, but it it seems to take off on you right in this moment. Oh my goodness. Yeah, it’s it was certainly one of those things where in that moment you sit there and like, of course, it hits the very couple of stumps and rocks that are right there on the green to pop it up and it just takes off. In disbelief, you are. Yeah, a little bit. Oh, okay. Okay. See that? That’s the putt that I was hoping he would make on hole eight. Yeah. I mean, did we say it’s going to get a little spicy here? It’s getting spicy already. That was a banger to start hole 10. That was probably 45 ft, I want to say. Nice looking. Yeah, 45 ft downhill looking at OB. If that doesn’t connect, David is putting with some some pretty good uh steel. You know what here? Just looking at nothing backdrops and his putt on hold too warmed him up for this putt. Yeah, his putt’s looking deadly. And um it’s it’s a theme that I’m noticing this year particularly. And here is Debo with his judge. Let’s see if he can connect for his bird. Mhm. No. And it was just odd reaction just hitting that route and just going completely backwards. Yeah. And I feel like the rain just started at that point and our camera crew kind of um lost sight of what you guys were doing there. So, we’re just going to move on to hole 11 here. Yeah. Well, I did hit my putt for par and I believe Justin birdied the hole. So, great. Nice putt by Justin and good par putt after you rolling there. Crazy. Yeah, that was a huge part, but big momentum swing. Hole 11, par4 up the hill. Just don’t hit the biggest tree in the world and you’ll be in a good spot for a nice up shot, the signature tree. And it’s it’s such a pretty hole where you’re able to just dance around it. Almost every player is going right of this tree. Yeah. Not many of them are going to go to the left side unless you’re a lefty, but you know, mostly everyone’s going to this right side, letting it go up and kind of fight back into the hill that way. Check up. Okay, hole 11 averaged 3.43. So quite a bit under par. Easiest hole of the day it seems like for you guys. one of them. It’s either Oh, little reaction there. Yeah. Yeah. Just uh just making just sketchy enough. Making sure everybody feels alive. I feel alive. What a beautiful But of the tree. Wow. Look at the limbs on that thing. Yeah, it’s it’s it’s majestic. It really is. Shout out to Bob Colchuk for finding that in the middle of the course. And then of course David Chandler who’s built a wonderful top 65 course in the world here. Throwing your harp up and down. Yep. Just putting it up there. Letting it do its thing. Oh. Oh, he hit the basket. Oh my goodness. Oh, he hit it. I didn’t know he hit the basket. You guys couldn’t see that, right? No, we could not. Quite the reaction. Got a not the best roll, but a David jump putting from his drive. I’m telling you, he’s got a long jump putt right now. Deadly. Yeah, he’s feeling really good with that. Good birdie. You guys beat the birdies here. I mean, this this could be a star frame. I’m I’m assuming. Yep. Yeah. And then with that make I mean Debo is not much further than or not much closer than what I was. So right spoke a little too soon almost but we got we got it done boys. Yeah it was in. That’s all that matters. Good star framing. It’s interesting that hole nine was one of the easiest holes of the day and we saw no birdies. Meanwhile, almost the same average on hole 11 and we saw four birdies there. That’s quite interesting. Yeah. Yeah. It’s um you know, it it shows you what opening up your drive little bit easier with makes. Absolutely. And here’s hole 12. 333 feet. Just a wide hiser for most of these players. David got the memo. Oh. Oo. You just missed hitting the the bin. Was that like a Firebird? Yeah, that had to have been a Firebird. Wow, that would have been insane. Right. Oh man, that was a great shot. Woo. And there’s there’s that Pine. Yeah, Pine is dancing on the floor over there. Great shot by Justin Patnau. And shout out to Marky Chap for the ace on this hole. Yeah, getting the ace here on film. Go check out Chasing the Bees or I believe On the Rise has the ace full coverage and Oh, it’s it’s a thing of beauty. We’ll put the link in the description. Check it out. On the Rise channel, Marky was on the chase card and Debo almost connected. All these shots are beautiful shots. Yeah, they’re coming in pretty well. And you connected last time and got a nasty roll. And this time looks like you just got the grass and still got a pretty big skip. Yeah, it’s hard to bring it in and just nestle up there when you’re coming from 330 ft. David, another big stepper. This is I love it. The new David Fleck making bangers. Yes, we’ve seen him on coverage before, but he was never making big critical moment putts like this. I feel like Yeah, he’s really done a lot of work on his game, his mental game, his putting game. Everything’s coming around really well for him. It’s great seeing that development and and he’s still sort of new to the game. Oh, almost Justin, man. He’s still to new to the game. Meanwhile, you’re a veteran, so it’s like you’ve been in moments like this before. Is it are you do you feel any threat at all or by anyone at this moment? Oh, of course. I mean, everything is still happening. You never know what will be happening or what will go in, what putt might not go in and you know when nerves start hitting, you don’t know what your body’s going to do and how you handle your own nerves. So, you know, you’re never fully safe and you never want to relax your mind. You always want to stay in that, you know, we got to get it, but you want to stay, you know, you don’t you don’t want to get too overly excited and start getting too amped up. Solid advice there. Yeah, Debo missing there and most likely going to get a par. But yeah, you you can’t jump ahead to conclusions on a on a tournament and that’s something that I’ve definitely learned. It’s almost until the last shot. You just have to like just keep the grind like you say. Mhm. Um really good birdie there. Way to connect. Let’s take a look at these averages for this hole. Uh that was hole that was 12 2.76. So yeah, that ace helped a lot. Couple birdies helped a lot. This next one averaged 2.61. Tell me a little more about it. Looks like an easy one, but also a little danger on the right with out of bounds. Yeah, a lot of OB on this right side that moves behind the basket. So, you can’t just go long and straight. You got to be throwing something that’s hisering either from this right side, trusting it, going at the OB, just missing the basket or going through the open field side and swinging towards the OB. This is a hole you definitely want to get. You can throw so many different discs. Looks like Dave threw either Fiverr or Eagle X. I’m throwing overstable mid crux. So, it’s really what the comfortable or what the player is comfortable throwing. Yeah, absolutely. You’re landing a little shorter than probably what you were desiring to do. However, you still have a putt. That’s the best part of it. Still have a putt on a hanging basket and putting at the OB. And you know, because it is a hanger off of this tree. If you get to the wrong side, that tree really makes your putts difficult. Ooh, nice. Yeah, great shot there. And you’re only five down at this moment. Did you feel like you were playing a little slow? Yes. Oh, I definitely felt like we were a little slow here. Um Debo right under the pin making that look really That’s gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Smooth with that Malta. Yeah, definitely classic Debo Malta. Just throw it on a little Annie, let it go up to flat and just slowly flex out of it. Looks pretty calm up there for your wind right here. Wind. Yeah, very calm. You wanted that one. I could tell. Yeah. Yeah. It’s You just said I was only at five down playing slow. You know, when you realize you’re playing Sloan, you know, you have a lot of players like Cook Tarlton and Dylan Capioli out there, you know, they’re going to be ripping. Yeah. And Marky just got an ace, which I’m sure Yeah. Marky just aced. Black is heating up. Definitely heating up. I think that’s a for him actually. Four in a row. Wow. Yeah, he’s he’s just ripping raging fire. And then uh you know, Justin’s playing really well, too. So, it’s like, you know, you can’t just be in autopilot and letting things slide through you. You got to you got to make moves. Yeah. I didn’t realize that David Fleck is seven down through 13 at that. Wow. That that’s pretty impressive. And with Marky’s ace, he’s about the same pace as well. So, you’re right. You need to kind of either get at least a few more birdies or just at least make sure that they messed up. And here’s the hardest hole of the day, hole 14. We talked about this round one where it’s just such a hard par three, but it’s it’s a good par three because there’s going to be some arms that get it and then there’s going to be some arms that really mess us up because of the wind. Yeah, there were two birdies on this hole for the day. Two berries. Better than zero. I think when you said or one. Yeah, better. Yeah, better than zero. Or Yeah, let’s see. I can look it up real quick. I think it was one. There was one. Yeah, round one, there was one birdie. So, for the two rounds here, there were three total birdies on this hole. It’s so hard. But it’s I think you need a hole like this. I don’t know. I I’m in between. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I absolutely hate it. Right. It’s like it’s one of those things where, you know, hard is cool, but it’s also boring when it’s just a wide open field, you know, because it’s like, okay, you’ve made it where it’s too hard for most players to access it unless somebody’s trying to do something special and fantastic. Um, you know, and people are just going to make a huge mistake. But players now are mostly just playing for a layup. I think Debo kind of showed us arm there though. He’s in the circle. Yeah, he rips something. I I I didn’t realize that Debo throws that far. Um and it makes it look really really effortless. And I know you’re kind of laying up here. You’re not going for the green. Yep. Just throwing a simple safe shot. Just talking about like, you know, just keeping something right in the mix. Keep it easy right now. What were you laying up with there? Well, that was David Fleck that just No, no, no. But that Oh, off the te I I went Halo Destroyer. Just smooth, simple height. Put it to around 400 410 for an easy up shot. I’m surprised that Justin Well, I guess he was pretty far away and you’re kind of Yeah. laying up as well. So, this hole again averaging 3.4. So, you know, very difficult hole. And Debo, come on. Let’s connect for that bird. Oh, he could have been one of the two. He unfortunately was not one of the two birdies on this hole. Shout out to our lefty friends, Wyatt Mahoney and Cook Tarlton. Those are the only two birds on this hole. They’re just built different, Kyle. They’re just being built different. It’s good to be lefty and young, I guess. And speaking of U Cook Charlton, he’s on a heater as well. That was the fourth birdie in a row and uh five through six going through the back nine there. Wow. That is how you want to score right there, folks. Absolutely. And you know, he got out of the woods and he was able to open up again. What do you know? So, here’s hole 15. I like this new change that they added with Obie on the left hand side, which now pushes up a little more. comes into play a little bit, but also you can see that there’s a little bit of a zigzag coming with in play with the out of bounds. It’s not as straight of a line that you used to be, and there’s no OB in the back there. So, players are just really going to play it very straight and then most likely just lay it up and then get their birdie. Yeah, hole 15 here is a very simple hole unless you get lazy. If you turn your mind off, that’s when your mistakes happen. So, you got to make sure you stay focused. You can’t just say, “Okay, it’s 15. It’s simple. It’s easy. Whatever. Just throw a disc.” Cuz that’s when you find the OB. But if you’re still throwing a committed, wellthrown drive, it’s a it’s a very simple routine. Especially for you guys, the upshot is not going to where you make your mistake. And it looks like Debo’s going to be close. He did fade way right at the end there, which is going to be toward the OB line. Yeah, he really got on top of that disc. And I don’t know if he really expected that to hold quite as much as it did. Yeah, I’m I’m surprised that it flipped. I don’t know. I don’t know what he’s throwing there. Probably destroy it. I just beat up on him. And looks like you spot there. Justin Pado showing you how far you have to throw it, how far you have to approach it. It’s pretty like you said. Yeah, but it was a wellexecuted drive to his comfort range and then you know his strong suit little forehand zone approach shot. David going a forehand either zone or Toro and Debo throwing his up shot and he was out of bounds. So let’s let the viewers know that right now. Yep. And I think you’re going to talk to him because it didn’t look like he lined up properly if the OB line was moving to the right edge there. Yeah, he he just totally misplayed it. You know, he said that he he knew he was OB and then where he went to put his mini down, he was thinking he could take it relief further back and he went in a straight line with the OB line instead of in a straight line from the basket. So, he misplayed his lie. Did that OB line moving to the right, is that new like opening up that little like jet there? It’s been it’s been like that for over a year and a half. So Debo has definitely been here with it opened like that. And you know I think the issue was that he he he’s had a rough round. Yeah. He didn’t I don’t think he’s just you know he’s kind of going into an autopilot and not taking time and never checked with the card about where he went OB where he should be and where his lies. He just kind of put a mini down and through. Good birdie by Justin Day there. Yeah, you always have to ask the car just to make sure and they can help you out in that scenario helped him out. You know, it’s a tough learning lesson for him. Yeah, it was it was really confusing and unfortunate that we you know I’m not unfortunate that we had to call it. It’s a unfortunately he made the mistake and you know note to the players when you see something wrong call it out. That’s that’s our job. Yeah. And he took a bogey there because you know got Well, yeah. He had the OB stroke and the penalty throw. So Yep. So easy bogey there. And hole 16 not an easy play. This is the hardest hole in the course. Second hardest hole in the course. 378 feet. You don’t think that it would average 3.4 four, but it’s got so much OB that you have to play very carefully here. Yep. Yeah. David knows what the score is at. He knows he kind of has to start going for it and he knows that this is the whole his chances of winning this tournament are coming down to this. So, he went for it. Yeah. Or even just second. I mean, I don’t know about winning considering you have um you know, three strokes on him or something like that, but still to make a move because you could very easily mess this up, too. So, yeah. Yeah, exactly. So, he he put everything on his drive here and really forced something to see if he could make it go. And me knowing pretty much the result and how I play this hole, just doing a simple, easy forehand layup. Yeah, I love that play. And there’s really no need to go for it for you at that point. And Debo, for him, it’s of course he wants to go for it. And he just smashed a few drives before he just had that penalty. H Yeah. Yeah. OB again. Yeah. OB again. And early OB. That’s super early. Wow. Not even before the basket. The second basket. Yep. Yeah. And when you’re throwing that hiser line, it’s uh it’s a big riskreward. And when you get something that just turns, it’s doesn’t really come back. But a good approach shot there. And that’s beautiful. I know. Yep. Right under the pin right there. Good. Good approach. Easy bogey for him. And for you, it’s going to be most likely easy par as long as it doesn’t roll. Easy par. Last time it tried to roll on you, so yes, I didn’t want I purposely played for not hitting the cage this time. Make sure to check out that coverage from round one. We had a very exciting round with Kyle along with some other awesome feature card players. Yeah, whole 16 averaging at 0.52 strokes above par with nine birdies on it here. So there is some scoring, but with that scoring, there’s a lot of people who are boging it. Nine birdies, man. Wow. Nine birdies. That must feel nice to get this particular hole cuz it’s so hard. I feel like it’s Yeah, I I would throw it 60 ft short on a hiser. Yeah, I’d love to see just a catch cam view of this hole for the entire card or or for the for the entire field and just watch so many drives and watch nine drives be successful and a lot of drives not be successful. Yeah, a lot of them would trickle and roll right out of bounds, I think. And uh yeah, so hole 17 is one of our crowd favorite holes. 700 ft par4. Just a beautiful hole. Kyle, tell me more, please. Yeah, this is a great hole. You have these signature rock distance markers every 100 ft starting at 200 ft and it just lets you know how far you’re pumping things out there. If you’re someone that’s a freak like Harry Chase, you’re looking for the eagle. Most other people were just playing for the birdie. And there’s Marky Chap. If you remember him from the lead card from round two, go check it out. He’s throwing a bomb there, showing you guys how to do it. Yeah, little bit of a backup here. And was showing you something funny here. What happened? What was this clip? He’s showing us the Marky Chap ace reaction video. He was laying down on the ground right in front of the tea. So, we had a great reaction of Chappie from the front, which is rare. I love it. Some great media coverage. Thanks a lot, Chasing the Bees there. And Justin Patnode showing you how to rip it on 17. Landing in a perfect spot. Little left, but very good rip there. Yep. Very simple, very easy. He’s still in great position to get the birdie. I’m just throwing committed one angle hiser shot. Goal number one be in bounds. Yeah. And Justin Patnau sneaky shooting. Well, I’m I’m He’s about minus five at this point. Minus4. And um Kyle, what are you throwing there? That was a great rep. That’s my Halo Destroyer. My black Halo Destroyer. Just trusting the stability, putting it on one angle, not letting it flip over into that right side OB. David’s throwing another destroyer. He’s just unloading on it. But it looks like you threw the furthest, it looks like. I think uh I don’t remember. Close to pin. Closest to pin. Well, actually, no. Debo throws a bomb here, I think, from what I remember. Debo just he is in pure go mode. Oh my god. Doesn’t care. Yeah, that thing he unccorked. He put some frustration into that for sure. Well, he’s got a long ride back to Maine and again he’s got to heal up and hopefully we’ll see some great coverage of him at the Sunstein Open. Oh, I have no doubt that he will be back and ripping. Woo! Justin Patnode almost with the throw in. Love a good throw in. Now, you look very sharp by the way. Uh, wads, what what are you wearing there? And I’ve seen some other people wear it, too. It looks like you’re starting a new trend here. It is my new trend. It’s my uh my signature Sunday Tigers here. Going with the tiger leopard snakes skin shirt from Thought Space that my signature design. And I just have these great orange pants that I figured why not pair with it and just go full orange. Looking so good. Love it. We can see you from a mile away. Oh, David, that was He needed that because there’s a lot of scrunchingness going on between second place for Justin, David, and Dylan right now. Yeah, that was a big error. I don’t know whether it was the bogey on 16 and just a slight mental lapse or just realizing, you know, like, all right, I don’t think I’m not going to win this tournament. I can’t make up three strokes with, you know, two holes left. And I don’t know what it was, but just a little lapse in mental focus and tough missed putt for someone that was hitting some bangers. Absolutely. And he should hang his head high though because second place at this big tournament is a really good podium finish. Yeah, it’s it is a feat in itself. It is not easy getting in that top five in an A tier. No. And after 54 holes, here we go. Tell us more about hole 18. First of all, are you tired? Oh, on the inside. Yes. Am I going to Would I show show it? No way. But yeah, I I was tired here and just I was ready to finish after grueling weather rounds and tough mental battles and up and down roller coasters and a lot of stress for no reason. and Mhm. But yeah, I was mentally sharp and quickly running out of that kind of mental capacity to keep it together. Well, it’s good that you had a couple stroke lead because I mean a hole 18 sort of like you don’t have to worry about anything and you have the gallery watching and as long as you stay in bounds, you should be fine and dandy on this hole. Yeah, these last couple holes or last two holes here, 17 and 18, I you know, you it’s so hard to make up strokes on people because going out of bounds in the top MO field is so rare and people who are not taking threes on these holes is also rare. So, you know, when you get to 17 and 18 with a couple strokes, you you feel really good cuz even if you go par par, it’s not the end of the world. You were unleashing there. One last destroyer throw, I’m assuming. Yeah, one last destroyer to kind of put me into nice easy upshot range. And Debo getting some good height on his destroyer throw as well. Yeah, he’s he’s unccorting on some stuff. Putting the hurt on a disc. And so is Dave. I think he’s a little upset after missing that putt. Yeah, Dave was talking about trying to go for the eagle. Whether he can get down to that area where he feels comfortable with a go. I would have loved to see that. Yeah. I don’t know where he landed exactly, but we’ll see. That was pretty good throw. Yeah, it was a great throw. And looks like you’re pretty happy you got a little trot in your step there. Yeah, you know, just taking in the moment, enjoying the view. And it’s a walk I do many times a month as we’ve said, but not many times have I been doing that. Walking down with the lead and coming as the, you know, couple strokes ahead as a in an A tier. So, it’s a special feeling. Absolutely. And it’s a good amount of money, too, that might be going into your pocket. So, Oh, a huge amount of money. like crazy for this. And you see right there, that was the last shot I had to put some real focus into and truly truly felt. All right, now we can relax and enjoy it. Oh, you almost did get that eagle. All right, I love that. What a goal for David off the tractor. That’s so iconic for Dave uh after the round that he was having. And a great little putt by Justin Patnau. Not to be outdone. Yeah. Yeah. Great putt. Great three for, you know, I know you don’t want to leave your upshot that that far, but we saw a couple of those and uh it really hurt Debo, but he ended up cashing still. So good to Debo. He had a little bit of a rough round on uh dropping 24 player spots, unfortunately. Yeah, I mean Debo’s a fighter and as tough of a round as he had, he never let that kind of negatively bring down the card, which you always got to commend a player for playing pretty tough and having a rough round, but still not bringing everybody down around him. That’s a really good point. Yeah, he’s a very good veteran player like that. And there you go. our 2025 Welcome to the Jungle Champion Wads aka Kyle Morardi aka the Tiger Man. It must be a one of your best wins. I mean, I know you have a lot. You have several A tiers now. Uh, this has got to be up there. Yeah, this is my second A tier win and a lot of big tournament wins under the belt and I think only my second win here at Metobrook and it’s special as you see the owner Dave right there. We’re really good friends and there’s Scott and you know got to build some really good relationships with these people that are not just disc golfers but it it is a family and it’s great to have wins with them here. Well said. And and shout out to your caddyy, Sam Shrider, right? Yeah, Sammy Strider. He came on and cattied for me twice this weekend, which is nice. Well, one and a half times. Yeah. Counting that uh that lightning delay. And that’s it, folks. I mean, what a great tournament. You look so happy with that trophy. And what a great crew. Look at that. Tied for second place. We have David Fleck, Justin Padnote, and Dylan Capoli. Wow. Wow. and Marky Chad coming in fifth. That ace Shirley Hton and then Kyle Lumsden and then Cook Tarlton tying for fifth with Marky. What a great finish tournament. And any last words, Kyle. I mean, you must be so excited. Yeah, I thank you Bob Colchuk for everything that he does for the scene. I mean, disc golf would not be anywhere as good as it is here in the Northeast without him. And thank you to all the sponsors for stepping up and giving in putting in the money for such a great payout for the win. And huge shout out to Thoughtspace and 978 for the sponsorship. Awesome shout outs there. And thank you to our viewers and everybody that stayed tuned and subscribed to our channel. We are growing so fast. Make sure to stay tuned for the Sunstein Open coverage coming out soon with Simon Lazot. He’s back folks. Yes. and Wads. Congratulations once again. I’m so happy for you, my man. Second A tier. I thought it was more than that, but this is even more monumental knowing that you won. Thank you. I mean, everybody gives me a hard time, but when I started playing, A tiers were certainly rare and hard to come by, and now they’re almost popping up like B tiers, which is been an amazing thing. They are, but they’re harder to win now because the competition is just so much better now, too. So, yeah. Oh, it’s it’s it’s so hard to win disc golf these days. Really, I’m lucky. I am lucky. You’re driven, too. And we love watching you on the channel. So, thanks for being a co-host here, and thanks for being a great player that we got to watch all weekend long. It was my pleasure, my friend. All right, have a good one, folks. Thanks for watching. [Music] [Music]
