Kai Trump has put her recent troubles at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley behind her, with an impressive showing in her latest tournament.
Kai, who is the eldest grandchild of President Donald Trump and a keen golfer, teed it up at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Major Championship and put in a strong performance. The teenager, who has previously received the praise of Rory McIlroy, ended the event in second, one shot behind the winner, Bretton Mackiewicz.
It was a huge improvement for Trump, having finished last of 24 golfers in the female side of draw at the Sage Valley event in March, which also featured Charlie Woods, the son of 15-time major winner Tiger Woods.

Trump’s latest outing saw her card an overall score of 154, after rounds of 74 and 80 at Village Golf Course, banking her a podium finish. In the aftermath, the 18-year-old took to Instagram to share an achievement, and she already as plans to make improvements.
“Not the result I wanted but happy with the progress I am making! Let’s get back to work,” she wrote to her 1.7 million followers on her Instagram story.” Trump often shows off her golfing abilities on her YouTube channel, which currently boasts 1.15 million subscribers.

“You’re too good for this YouTube golf,” before the teenager cheekily replied: “Honestly, I think that’s what it is. I’m just too good.” The love of golf no doubt runs in the Trump family, with Kai’s grandfather, Donald, both a keen fan and player of the game.
The President owns a number of high-end golf courses around the country, and is also helping shape the future of professional golf. Since returning to the Oval Office for a second term, Trump has been drafted in by the PGA Tour to aid ongoing peace talks with their LIV Golf rivals.
Trump, who has close ties with both tours, has spoken openly about his want for the sport to come back together, after the PGA Tour opted to ban any player who made the move to the LIV setup. “Ultimately, hopefully, the two tours are going to merge,” the President said in April.
“That’ll be good. I’m involved in that too. But hopefully we’re going to get the two tours to merge. You have the PGA Tour and the LIV Tour. And I think having them merge would be a great thing.” Trump has hosted members of both sides of negotiations at the White House in recent months.
The latest golf star to make an appearance was U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, who is known to be a close friend of Trump. The President featured on DeChambeau’s YouTube channel last July, in a video that has since been viewed over 15 million times.
