So this is the 2nd time riding ’50 shades Of Clay’ here in O’Halloran Hill rec. park on the new Merida One Twenty 9 400. The 5th time in total by now I think, and today my mission was to beat my previous time, which I managed to do by only 4 seconds! Better than slower, so I’ll take that.
The challenge for me now is to better my previous time each ride I guess.
Todays original intention was to traverse ‘Vincenzo’s Golf’ going downhill, but that is not allowed according to the sign post, even though I encountered a rider heading down the last time I was going up it….Hmm, i guess when it’s quiet some people take a chance. Anyway….
Today was windy and strangely balmy for a winter’s day, with a slight tailwind and headwind in certain areas of the trail.
I also managed to pass 2 dudes in Lycra on a climb! Hahaha! You don’t need Lycra out on the trail lol. But it wasn’t a race…or was it?
This would still have to be my favourite trail right now though, as it’s close to home, on the way back from work and with it’s 3.4km length and varied terrain, it just appeals to me as a good XC trail and good workout.
