Professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau was practicing chip shots on the South Lawn of the White House on Monday, according to a video posted by Trump Communications Advisor Margo Martin.
“SPOTTED: @brysondech throwing darts on the South Lawn of the White House,” Martin wrote on X.
A 15-second clip she posted shows DeChambeau hitting golf balls from par-3 distance onto the small green situated near the West Wing.

DeChambeau, a two-time U.S. Open champion, has been a public supporter of President Donald Trump and has played golf with him on multiple occasions.
The Palm Beach Post reported on Trump’s relationship with DeChambeau after the 2024 election.
At a victory party, Trump beckoned for the golfer to join him onstage.
“We have up here today the U.S. Open champion,” Trump said. “He’s a fantastic golfer. Slightly longer than me. Hits the ball a little bit longer than me. Just a little bit.”
When DeChambeau did not join Trump on stage, he said, “What happened to Bryson? …Where is he? Bryson! He’s hitting balls. Oh, he’s on the way? He’s hitting balls.”
DeChambeau once said of Trump’s golf game, “Man, his iron play was great… I can’t tell you the number of times he stuffed it on the green within 30 feet in regulation. His driver swing is the most repeatable thing I have ever seen.”
On Sunday, Trump again complimented DeChambeau, The Daily Mail reported.
“We play golf a lot together, it’s not a very pleasant experience for me because I always consider myself a reasonably long hitter,’ Trump said. “My wife says, ‘Are you as long as Bryson?’ I say, ‘Yeah sorta, pretty close – it’s not close.”
The White House putting green was first installed in 1954 by former President Dwight Eisenhower, but was removed under the Nixon administration.
In 1991, then-President George H.W. Bush had it reinstalled, and it has been in use since.
