[Music] the right club. Beat a right club today. That’s better than most. How about in that is better than most. Better than most. expect anything [Applause] [Music] [Music] different. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No Laying Up live show presented as always by our friends at High Noon. Sie here. God, we got a lot of golf to talk about. My guy TC already grinning ear to ear. Hello, Mr. CC tough tough chain of events for you Sally. First first rider club called block se straa and then Foxy absolutely stunting proper player. Love to see it. Just not going to go ahead Dee. DJ is here as well. Hello Mr. Dee. Hey Sully. Good to be with you. Great weekend here in Milwaukee. Son’s out walking around enjoying my my wife’s first Mother’s Day today. Happy Mother’s Day to all the uh ladies listening. And and now we get to talk golf. What who’s got it better than us, guys? Good to be with you. Likewise. I join you in wishing all the mothers a happy Mother’s Day. And thank you for uh spending your Sunday evening with us. Guys, have you heard High Noon has a new non-carbonated vodka iced tea pack. Uh this is the Lake Pack. Uh it introduces two new exciting flavors. Green tea, also the half and half. Uh I just did a live taste test on here. I just These just came in the mail. TC came over earlier today and I gave him a couple of these. He couldn’t even get home before he he had to taste it. He had a a sip out back while I was getting a little workout in. That made it sound like he was drinking and driving home. I’m glad you cleared that up. It’s it lives very very very close to me. So, uh the it also is joined by the classic original tea and the peach tea flavors. Uh it it brings together real vodka and crisp iced tea packed up for maximum flavor to bring you wherever your day takes you. Visit high noonspirits.com to find a pack near you. High noon suns up. TC been playing a little golf lately as well. I think you got uh any any reports on how you how your how stuff was performing for you in the southern hemisphere. Sully, I mean southern hemisphere it was good. It traveled with me up to the northern hemisphere. We played in the the wind down in the southern hemisphere holding the ball up against the wind. Uh we had some gnarly stuff coming off the ocean down in New Zealand. Shout out to Foxy. And then uh and then at Oakmont it was Drench City USA and the ball was absolutely performing for me as well. And I’m in the Prov1. Uh I have total confidence in the wind with this thing. And I think the other thing I’ve really noticed over the last I don’t know really the last three or four months is how dialed in my half wedge shots are getting or those kind of 80% wedges that it’s one hop and stop. It’s not bleeding out at all. Uh you know after that that first hop. So, could not be more pleased with how my golf ball is performing right now. I feel like I’ve got total control of it. So, that is of course the Titalist Prov1. You can find out uh which golf ball is best for you at titalist.com. Get fit. Get fit uh for everything including your golf ball. Um we got fit into these several years ago and it just it gives you like a lot better confidence that like somebody has looked at your data and been like this is what you should be in. Like chances are you’re probably pretty unqualified to figure this out on your own. I’m pretty unqualified to figure this out on my own. So, it’s just very And you’re in the Prov Sully, correct? I’m in the Prov one as well. Exactly. And then DJ’s in the X. I play the X, but hearing Sully say that, I realized for how many years I was like, you know, I think I’m gonna play the prov one because I just I like the box better. Like I’m just I’m just going to play those. And you know, the the titles people are our good friends at Titles. Like, maybe that’s not a good way to go about it. Why don’t you try this this Prov1X? And instead, I’m I’m with UTC. We got to play some golf over in in Ireland, Northern Ireland, and you know, playing a little bit of wind and and you can flight those wedges the way that you want. They’re not going to balloon on you. You’re just you’re playing the right kind of golf ball and you’re going to play a little better. So, shout out to our friends at uh at Titleist. De, why don’t you take us around the world for some uh some golf results? I would love to s on the PGA Tour. Of course, our guy, my guy, your guy, Seb Straa becomes a fourtime winner. A win. A win for the Balds. You guys look a lot alike. A win for the Balds. Both from Georgia. a win for the probably the soontobe balds I’m going to guess with Foxy down in Myrtle Beach uh at the one flight Myrtle Beach Classic. Uh over on the DP World Tour, Martin Kura, young French Garson wins the uh Turkish Airlines Open. Interesting. Interesting. Presented by Eric Adams. Oh, first stops always is Tim Bowl. Uh on the LPJ, Gino Titakum wins the Mazuo America’s Open up at the torch. Uh on the le HJ Kim defends her title, the Ramco Korea Championship. And on the Epson Tour, uh our one of our favorites, Sophia Popoff, uh wins the Carile, Arizona Women’s Golf Classic. But gentlemen, we’re going to start with the truest uh where Shane Lowry and Seb Straa entered the final round tied at the top 14 under. They were going to square off in the final pairing, three clear of JT and Keith Mitchell uh playing on a sponsor exemption this week. Se uh made eagle on the fifth before it got a little, you know, and then took it a little deeper on eight and nine with a couple birdies. Couple bumps in the road there in the middle of the round on 10 and 11 with a couple of backto-back bogeies. Uh but a big birdie on the par 415th. Bumped him back to 16 under. Took the lead when Shane Lowry pulled a T-OT on the par 316th. Couldn’t get up and down. Uh and and then he kind of gassed it along. You know, Shane went for the win there on on 18, but but left himself six, seven feet coming back and and kind of took the drama out of it. So, uh, Sully, let me start with you. What What did we see from our guy Sepp today? Fourtime winner on the PJ tour, now the only other multiple champion or multi multiple time winner this year. How would you say that? Uh, along with Rory this year on the PJ tour. Uh, this is the fourth career win for Sept Straka. This is the first BDE. This is the first This is the first big win for Septra and I’m glad to see him take this leap. Uh his previous wins included the Honda, the John Deere, and the American Express. I think we can all agree this enters uh a completely different class. Those are indicators though. Spe Duval, you know, you can like people people who win those events. This is what we’ve been trying to tell you, man. These are these are 10 big things down the road. He’s winning on different kinds of golf courses, too. Yeah. Sorry, I cut you off. Continue there. winning on golf courses that aren’t like you you need to have a certain level of length to be able to perform here, I think, is is the the answer to that. But no, he’s completely stepped up his game uh in the past year. He kind of took a big step back in 2024 after that that Ryder Cup year, and he was my West Coast MVP. He was not only did he win out there, but he just had a really great run in that stretch of tournaments. Missed the cut at the Masters, which was uh you know, a little bit of air coming out of this of the of the parachute there, but huge bounceback, huge win. I’m I’m stoked for him. I there there’s very very little reason to dislike Sept Straka and he just seems to be kind of bullying people this year. He’s second the FedEx Cup now uh which is kind of ridiculous. We are not early in the year and I think we can you know if we want we can kind of go through the halfway point right we can kind of go through the fed I mean yeah there’s there’s I don’t know maybe in events wise but I think there’s still a lot more points to be had kind of in this back half stretch uh and whatnot but I mean joins an illustrious list of signature event winners this year. It’s a It’s a It’s kind of been bangers only and uh he he slammed the door today. It was really good stuff. Uh very enjoyable to watch. Kind of an unexpected uh duel that I really enjoyed watching. Lowry versus Straa. You know, I know in a lot of these signature events you’re hoping for kind of the Rory Lvig Xander, Morawa. You know, we did have JT was up there, but like I I really enjoyed kind of the two big guys throwing punches at each other all day. It was it was good stuff. TC that had to be up your alley. I loved it. I thought the it was a great week. I I was a little concerned after Thursday with golf course kind of getting eaten up and hearing some stuff about, you know, the Philly cricket aronomy staff and the tour setup staff kind of button heads a little bit over watering and pins and stuff like that. But it’s it kind of evened out on Saturday. I thought Saturday and Sunday the course played wonderfully and wind kicking up on Saturday was really fun. Um but no, overall yeah, Sap’s I don’t know. I’ve like come to really like SE. Uh he’s a good he’s a good interview. He’s a good dude. It seems like he’s just, you know, he he was there when I went when when I when I downed the four soups in the tap room. He was he was a table over. Uh he was marveling at that. Maybe that inspired him onward to to, you know, these two wins this year. Um but yeah, I think like he putted his ass off this week. I think he was what, first in putting, second in putting. 8.66 strokes gained on the greens. didn’t chip it particularly well. Yeah. Yeah. That that like zebra putter that like everybody’s grandpa had in their garage, you know, price. Yeah. But Sully, I I gotta ask you, Ryder Cub lock at this point. I think he’s very very very likely to be on the team at this point. I think if uh if he lost between now and then, I think there’s still a chance. I mean, he doesn’t he’s still way back on the points list just because he doesn’t really he doesn’t support the the DP World Tour. And uh I think it’d be a shock if he lost between now and then. doesn’t support the the DP World Tour. I uh I I I still think it was premature to call him a lock uh for the RDER Cup several months ago. Uh I mean, not if you were seeing what we were seeing, man. Did you call him a lock? You weren’t even on that show. I wasn’t on I didn’t get the chance. Of course I would have. Of course. Of course I would have. Uh I I I He went I I I don’t know. Anytime you get a chance to put somebody, I don’t know, kind of like your ninth or tenth best player who went one and two at the last Rder Cup to lock. Any chance you get to lock that in six months early, you got to take it. You just can’t miss that window. You absolutely cannot. So, I’m stoked for you guys that uh you got that one locked in. Thank you. And, you know, it seems like we got some other locks, too. Bane, Tommy, Rory, all doing big things. All in the top 10. Uh Tommy in the top five this week. Steven Joerger. Uh Nicholas Norgard played well down down at Myrtle Beach. He’s got an outside Can Foxy get some sort of Commonwealth uh exemption or something. We’re going to have to look into that. Yeah. Uh it’s actually fun to be on this side. You know how many times I’ve wound myself up about how good the Americans are playing in May only to watch him get trounced. It’s kind of fun to be on the other side and just watch how much is the US going to get smoked by? Is this game even going to be competitive? It’s actually a lot more fun to be on this side of it. So, I was just going to look up and I’m sorry for doing this live, but what what has Sepp done in the majors because I know, you know, he’s he’s a guy that flushes it. He’s a guy that drives it very straight, but you know, that that accuracy, no distance is not always what you’re kind of looking for in the majors. So, as much as I would love to keep ramping up that like I’m just getting word was runner up at Liverpool uh tied with Tom Kim, I’m just I’m just receiving word on that. That had not come across my desk. I’m glad you said that. was uh put together rush honestly. Yeah, T7 at the 2023 PGA, but I I don’t know. I mean, it seems like he’s he’s kind of sort of trending in the right direction other than that miscut at the Masters. I don’t know. My point was I don’t know if this necessarily changes anything for next week. I mean, I think he was probably on a decent amount of radars. I I don’t know that he’s kind of in that quote that first round draft pick, you know? I don’t know that he’s he’s quite in that class. But TC, I think there’s some value in there for some GMs who are who are looking for a value quail necessarily. I don’t know. I was scratching for something. I would take him at Oakmont or Port Rush over over Quail for sure. I think it’s just that I mean he’s he’s below average distance, right? And this week was I think we’re kind of we didn’t know what to expect with Philly Cricket Club and I think there was there was room with this kind of setup. So, it’s kind of weird how I I I think technically this stuff works, and somebody who’s deeper into the stats can correct me on this, but like this seems like the width of fairway where accuracy matters. Like, if you get to a certain if it gets too wide, the bombers get their balls that stay at the edge of in the edge of the fairways. And if it gets too narrow, nobody hits the fairways and everybody just bombs it ahead. But about this width, accuracy can matter. Like, Nearfield Village weirdly threads that gap really well. It is a course where accuracy matters. and the penalty for missing the fairways is relatively strong there. Um, this without having the information and the data in from this week, this seems like it fit that mold to say like it set up for a really good championship. Mirwood Village usually sets up for a really really good championship and I not to transition this into Philly cricket, but I what made the duel really fun today was the consequence of all the shots. I felt that for basically every single approach shot. How many times guys like pulled approach shots left of greens today and it was like up [ __ ] No chance. No chance there. Like could not afford to hit it there. JT on 16. Shane Lowry could not afford to hit that ball there. Uh I don’t know. I it for a golf course that had such wide open fronts to the greens and you know had these big ass greens. These were like the third they were saying is the third easiest greens to hit on the PJ tour so far this year. I thought Philly cricket held up so freaking well and it it added just another layer to the kind of duel we were watching today where just felt like every shot had consequence and had a bleeding effect whereas way too many tour courses it just kind of seems like a he missed but he can get that up and down over there that’s not that bad. I just felt that every time I had the golf on this week was like oo I can’t wait to see what he does with this one because that is not a simple shot there. I thought the 145 combo was spectacular, especially today with the shorter. It was what 95 yards. Um the PJ tour, is that what they said in the shot link era? I think since they had that. Yeah. Which cool too because like it’s like it wasn’t easy either. Like you had to really like control your spin into there. And then I think like the greens were were fast. They just weren’t quite to the firmness. I think they got a bad bad draw as far as the weather goes last last couple weeks up there. Um, but yeah, I like they need to they need to get back to Philly cricket for for something in soon. Did you like it at this time of year? Was there anything that that was kind of the only thing was like I wonder if you get to late July, August, if you can push it to, you know, whether it’s a playoff event or something, but uh maybe get the rough a little thicker, get hopefully things a little faster, maybe enjoy, you know, avoid some of those thunderstorms early in the week would be that’s the only change I’d make. Other than that, it was it was great, man. Agree. Yeah, I think maybe a BMW Yeah. kind of thing. I think that would fit a lot. I I I’m curious and we got a bunch of questions, you know, on this like what other what other annual tour, you know, what other stops, what other courses would would would you like to see kind of similar to Philly cricket and it’s like Aronomic was kind of supposed to be this in 2018 when it went there and it rained so hard. I mean, it was just like drench city a major what next year it’s going to be a major which I’m still very confused how that’s going to work. I I was pretty underwhelmed by Aronom to be honest. I think Philly crickets I think it’s better better golf course but I think it um yeah I to your point like the BMW rotated up to Aronomic in 2018 and I would like to see it rotate to somewhere like Philly cricket but it’s also like Philly cricket it is short like it is like probably too short. Um I thought it still played interesting but some of these holes guys were just hitting driver and then pitching up onto the green. Now there was you know they were able to do enough stuff with pins and and whatnot to to mitigate the scoring. the winds helped a little bit, but like you saw it kind of Thursday, Friday when the winds weren’t up as high. Like it was kind of just, you know, pin your ears back and go get it. Like I I still think there’s probably there’s room for an arch architecturally significant and strategic golf course like this that has a little bit more length uh to really kind of elevate a particular event. But um I I don’t for a lot of the questions like should the truest just stay here forever? Like I hate to report that truest is based in Charlotte and like the reason that they’re sponsoring that tournament is to have an event in Charlotte at Quail Hollow. Like it’s going right back to Quail Hollow for the very foreseeable future. Philly Cricket showed off enough. I think there should be golf in this region, but I just it will not be this event unfortunately. There was a very uh I hate to call him out because I I love the guy, but Taylor Zarzer was talking on Gary Williams Five Clubs uh show this week about how how how Charlotte is starved for professional golf and DJ texted over the the Jim Caviesel Mel Gibson just being close to Chicago. I’m like, “Ah, ah, Chicago, Boston, the entire Pacific Northwest.” If I can fill in what he I think he meant was like there’s a massive market for golf in the area and it’s accurate. I think it’s just starve was probably not the way uh because I think I think I think people are wellfed uh in that in that region. I think Charlotte may need to go on an exemption for professional golf. Uh, going back to your your 14th hole, by the way, I was just looking this up, but 95 yards today, played to scoring average of 2.88 14 birdies, six bogeies. Yeah, that’s great. That’s awesome. Even that like that’s where like again, not everybody cares about this kind of stuff, but it was not a just a dart fest in there. And if you want it was it was a little bit downwind and if you wanted like the that green was firm enough that if you wanted to hold it short of the ridge, you had to risk going into that front bunker. It looks like there’s only maybe four balls went in that front bunker. Uh or, you know, and maybe only six or seven guys ended up short of that pin all day. But it was like it was hard it was a short enough shot that it was hard to get enough spin on it uh to get guys to get it to rip back down that slope and it it credit to the ground staff for getting the course of that dried out for how much rain the week because it was Rip City USA for the mo the earlier part of the week and it was just kind of dull. Uh but that shot he just that was all right. What are you going to do? You got to make up a shot. You got to make up a shot somewhere here. If you’re chasing from behind, if you’re JT, like, do you take it on here? Do you take it on on 16 when you got five iron in your hand? Like the whole kind of chess match just worked out really, really well. To to that end, the the thing that’s like almost never going to come through if you’re just kind of watching 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes of a broadcast at a time is I love the spin control stuff. When you start on Thursday as like, oh my god, this place is soaked. This thing’s going to rip back 30 feet. And then you get to Sunday and it’s like, oo, this thing is going to either hold its place or maybe even pitch forward a little bit. Watching that course change, like I was going back through today and just watching a lot of the Thursday rounds, Friday rounds, Saturday rounds to kind of see how the course was changing. And that’s such a like underrated element of uh, you know, especially a golf course like this when the conditions change that much throughout the week. Probably not a shock to see like Sep, JT, Lowry, Kantlay, Tommy, like some awesome leaderboard. Yeah. like really good ball strikers, really good finessy iron players. Uh towards the top of Xander got better like Xander shot 66 today. Burger, you know, and that’s also credit to the contouring on these greens, right? Like the the tier like they’re big ass greens. I mean, we saw a lot of se shots on the back nine today. They were on the safe side of all these tiers. He’s putting up the hill and you know, easy pars. That’s how you play with a lead, but it was like those shots are they’re easy to hit the green, but they’re hard to hit the right section of it. And I think the, you know, the Greens had a little bite to them, but probably with a with an extra layer of speed could have been really, really, really interesting. When they played when they played the senior players there, it was like spicy as hell. I mean, it was it was B like bowling alley type firmness. Um, which which was awesome. I thought too the I was a little bit concerned that some of the grandstands were going to be very much in play. That really wasn’t the case. Like I thought they did a great job with the setup. All my Philly fans came out and you know they were riding. I saw you know between Nance doing the Fly Eagles fly and then they were doing all sorts of Hermon Meyer the Herminator and uh you know Fran Clommer stuff. I was I was loving the broadcast today and uh I thought they did a really good job with the routing as well starting uh like that finishing stretch. I thought just wide variety of shots down the stretch. which I think’s really starting with like 13 cool hole and then 14 the 95 yard, you know, par three and then 15 with the great hazard par five. Uh JT kind of that’s kind of where he he came undone a little bit. Um you know, kind of needed that one splashing out of that bunker and and you know, misses the putt there. And then 16, perfect counterpoint to to 14. It was a 225 yard par three. I thought that’s where Seep hit a brilliant shot there. uh you know coming down the stretch and then 17 and 18s kind of hang on for dear life. Couple 500 plus uh par4s. If you if you tuned into the back n only today, you probably didn’t feel the shortness of the golf course come into play nearly as much. They could did a good job with that. You kind of hide it a little bit earlier in the broadcast like made the first two holes essentially like drivable. I I I just love like a lot of the you know a lot of our interactions especially when we’re not on site and especially when it’s a golf course none of us have been to before is like a lot of times your interaction with the place is the whole pickles like the the graphics from the live scoring or something and it’s just like so hard to pick up what’s going on. But S I know I I’ll tee you up for one of your favorite things. I know, but the the drone tracer this week, especially on 17, as you watch Se’s ball where it’s just like, okay, man, he’s just going to hit this power cut that is going to it’s got to fit between these two bunkers. Here’s the challenge. He’s got to he’s got if he’s going to fade it, he’s got to carry this one. And just being able to see that and piece it all together in your mind is like, oh man, that’s the challenge. It just God, it just makes the whole thing so much more threedimensional. So, I know like on the par threes, it was great, too. It just Yeah. Well, it’s another thing here, and this is an image showing up here of this. They had a a behind the green redan tracer earlier in the week when speed was hitting this shot. It was just like while the ball’s in the air, I’m like, “Ah, gosh, I’d love to see this.” Oh, bull. They’re doing it. They’re doing the crow tracer on this one. And then short grass behind the green, too. Yeah. But it’s also like the difference between this and Tori, which we pick on a lot, is like the hole is like this, and then the bunkers are just right there on either side. Miss left or right, and you’re in a bunker. Whereas, if you look closer here, that the bunkers are staggered, right? Where it’s like, all right, if I’m hitting this club, that bunker’s in play. Ideally, I mean, some of these bunkers, you could just blow it right over. And if I hit it uh this club, this left bunker is going to be in play. Like, Septraka, I forget which. I think it was on 12. Um, and they’re talking about like he cannot cover this right bunker uh on this line. Like, so he’s got to play farther left with this one. Like that. That’s just another layer of again why not to do the technology thing, but like those bunkers should matter. like they should not be able to just blow it over them because that’s the whole point of where they’re putting them exactly to drive the strategy. But that was the most depressing part about Rory’s quotes this week of like you know they they did this renovation to Animal King 10 years ago. Uh Keith Foster and he and he just and it’s already irrelevant for the for the uh pros. It’s crazy. Only defense was like I don’t think they did that renovation for the pros. I don’t you know there I don’t think there was plans to bring I think they kept it in mind for sure but like that and that was pretty early on in like the kind of the restoration stuff too which props to them like it was brilliant they did a brilliant job. Um so yeah uh well getting back to the leaderboard a little bit here we had uh Shane Lowry and Justin Thomas uh both T2 TC is is your guy Shane Lowry a bottler? What’s the what’s what’s the issue here, man? I I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t think he met with media afterwards either, which I didn’t didn’t love either. Uh I don’t know. Yeah, Shane, I mean, he lost 500K on the last green with the three putt there. That was that was tough, you know. Bogei’s on 16. Bogey’s on 18. Uh bogeied eight as well. Eight was what, like 250 yards, though. So, uh I don’t know. I mean, you know, Shane Shane’s Shane’s won a major, like, you know, I kind of Shane’s just one I can’t figure out. Like I think even back to that Firestone win that he had, it was just kind of like I can never really call when Shane is going to play well or not. What’s crazy is just I mean he’s one of those guys like his floor is just so high, right? Like he’s always going to play well. It’s just it’s hard to know when he’s going to have like a really good chance to win, you I feel like he’s he he’s always putting himself in position and uh yeah when he so it’s almost worse when he doesn’t get it done because you see him so much you know he obviously won the open at Port Rush from 2019. He won the BMW PGA in 2022. He won the Zurich a team event last year. Those were his only two wins he’s had in the last six years while playing really freaking good golf. Like really consistently good golf. Um I have a touch of big big tone syndrome maybe. I don’t think we can say that anymore. Or I think we would say that it’s the Tommy Fleetwood. Shane Shane feels like I think he feels like six wins a little bit of like a souped up version of of of Se, right? Like, you know, a little bit longer than Se, but similar profile. Like really good iron player. I think that’s Yeah, I think that’s right. Didn’t putt as well this week. That was kind of the difference. Um Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I mean I think Seap’s got a ways to go to kind of match match um the consistency that that Shane has. Not that far off, though. Like, you know, on your current version of Seap is really freaking good. Like current version of Seth is like a stroke better per round than he was in 2023 when he made the RDER Cup team. Like that’s a that’s a different dude. He is like he’s and that’s not even counting this past week. Like his his stroke his approach play for this year has got to be one of the best in in all of golf. He’s plus 1.18. That’s like peak moracawa. that separ approach play so far this year. God, I hope we get some peak mora so we can keep chipping away at that eight major total. A lot could go I would suggest he goes hard on these next three TC seem like seem like good fits. Top three iron players uh currently in the world over the last six months. Scotty plus 1.4, Colin plus 1.35, se plus 1.18 and that’s not counting today or this week. Flusher. Pretty remarkable. flusher. But yeah, I mean Shane should have, you know, Shane should have been in a playoff today probably. Like that’s, you know, and then JT like it should have probably been a three-way playoff between JT, Seth, and Shane. JT had a weird day. Weird day yesterday that that 66 in uh in the wind, you know, he’s he’s hacking out of the out of the bushes. I don’t know if you guys saw that uh that f I think it was the first part five yesterday where he’s he’s kind of like straddling the the fence and trying to hack out. I think he bogeied two of the par five or both parf yesterday shot 66. Uh but he is I can report flushing it sixth in approach this week heading back to Quail Hollow where he won his first major. I I I don’t know. Got to got to like it, man. A couple of those uh couple of the wonky little short putts uh weren’t weren’t great to see. Yeah, I know he’s he’s turned his putting around uh largely the last couple weeks, but you know, still 20 what 27th kind of middleish of the road uh putting has to not be an idiot on the greens and he’s going to be very much in contention like which I think one of the things shout out to Philly Craig was like actual slope on five and sixfooters. Yep. For sure. you know, instead of Dudes look perplexed over this course this weekend. I mean, especially Saturday. They Nance said it Saturday, it’s like I can’t recall a broadcast where we’ve seen more short putts missed. I don’t know if if that was the most accurate statistically, but it did feel that way. It was like absolutely nothing was getting in the hole. Yeah. Uh, who’s Let me ask you this, Oie. Who’s, if you’re if you’re doing a uh a PJ Championship draft board right now, who’s ahead of JT on your draft board? Roy Scotty Shadur Sanders the Pope best available like that’s kind of where I was like I think it’s Rory Scotty and like maybe nobody else what’s the odds what do the odds say is he I feel like Xander’s heating up I feel like Kantlay’s heating up they’re they’re heating up TC but I I don’t know he can’t be Xander JT headtohead next week TC See, I think I’m taking I’m taking JT. That’s where I’m at. It’s kind of wild, right? I think I’m taking Xander. I think Xander might be might be on the cusp of your officially back. Put that on the record. Put that in your black book. TC Xander Xander, DB, Cory Connors, and H all tied for 11th this week. The odds as of right now subject to change, of course, courtesy of the FanDuel sports book. Uh Scotty Sheffler plus 400. Rory plus 450. We did forget about Bryson plus 1100. Sure. John Rom plus 1,800. Xander plus 2,000. Levig plus 2,000. JT plus 2200. Should Should JT be behind Levig? Yeah, I would say head I mean TC no spin zone here. Who Who are you? Levig or JT right now at Quill? Man, Levig’s I don’t know. Levig’s uh his putter really spooked me this week. Lost about four shots in the green. He was 65th in the field in putting. And his iron play was [ __ ] too. He He lost like four and a half shots with his irons this week, too. So, good. Yeah, he was, you know, and he wasn’t even allowed to miss the cut. That was like your, you know, that was your your whole thing when he was missing the cut on purpose before the Masters, right? Um, no, I I don’t know. I still go back. I think that Noro virus that he had on the West Coast swing kind of put him in a blender for a while. And I do think his floor is lower than it’s been in in recent in the first couple years of his career. So, we’ll see. He’s I think I’m still buying a big big summer for for Levik, though. I’m going to give you guys seven number. I’m going to give you the numbers strokes gain for JT’s seven best seasons and I’ll see if you guys can pick out where you think he is this year. Okay. So, his seven best seasons, 2.31, 2.23, 2.22, 22 1.97 1.96 1.92 1.90 I bet he’s at 2.22 22. I was 1.97. He’s 196. Really good guesses. And he he’s going to be over two as of tomorrow morning probably. Like he he’s his current season blends in really really well with his peak from 2017 to 2022 and 2003 and and and 2024 look a lot more like outliers right now than which is like if you looked at speeds it would look like inverse like his 15 through 17 is outrageous whereas everything since then has just been kind of okay. Man, JT might be underrated, man. I agree. I agree. If you think Lvig, I’ll be curious to see how like how how much the form versus the coarse fit stuff matters at Quill Hollow. Like if Levig, you know, it’s a should be a perfect setup for him. But I I think Levig might be saving himself for Oakmont as well. I guess we’ll see. We’ll see. Uh, Sully, should we pay some bills? What What do you think? We should. Why don’t we uh we’ll stop in for a word from our friends at Omni Hotels and Resorts, the official hotel of No Laying Up. Spring golf is here. Summer golf is knocking on the door. There’s no better time to start planning your next bucket list golf trip. One course we want to put on your radar is the newly renovated Oak Marsh Golf Course at Omni Amelia Resort. Uh, it’s officially reopening for public play this month. I’m supposed to get up there in the next couple of weeks. uh course has been refreshed by Bo Welling Design and to honor Pete Dy’s iconic original layout, bringing it up to speed for the modern game. From May 17th to 29th, we’ll see the top collegiate players take on a layout brought back to life by Gil Hance in a stunning 2024 renovation with 13 Omniolf destinations and 28 courses and short courses at your disposal. What are you waiting for? Head to omnihot.com/golf to play the possibilities. They’re doing some great stuff. Very, very excited for that one. Uh, going down the leaderboard a little bit. Patrick Kentlay T4. I hope our our I’m thinking hard about our friends at FanDuel this week. I hope they’re not going out of business with all the hundreds of thousands of people tailing my Patrick Hlay top five. And of course, my JT is going to hit it closest to the pin in his group at hole eight in round one. Both of which were were smash successes this week. But, uh, TC did well this week overall. It was actually pretty good. It was actually pretty good this week. Uh TC, what uh why don’t you let’s start with Kentlay. I know you were high on him coming into this week as well, but then why don’t we just go down the leaderboard a little bit. Yeah, Sully was even even higher on him than I was. But yeah, the pat the pat in the hat. I think he’s rounding into form. Uh he’s starting to play very very good golf after kind of a lackluster season last year. So I’m going to look at the hat book 65s. It’s not great history at Cohalla. Have you looked at it? Kind of average. Yeah, he’s got a it’s tough the tour website like you can finally do the course thing or whatever where like you can go to each course but it it divides it into PJ championship. Yeah. Coil Hollow Coil Hollow starting this is in uh reverse order. So starting with last year T29 T-21 cut T33 at the 2017 PGA. So kind of and he’s I think he’s got a top 10 there at one. I think he’s got one top 10 at some point there. So anyway, I think uh you know he’s loading up the tool belt. He’s he’s getting ready to you know sharpen some of his blades and stuff. Uh you know, all good there. Sorry. I mean, God, what were you complaining about on the tour website this week? You couldn’t find the Oh, I wanted to look up like you can’t there’s nowhere that shows like the list of of who has the most tour wins. Like there’s you can go to the Wikipedia page, but it doesn’t go below 17. Like I was like, “All right, let’s welcome Seb Straco to the four win club.” Who else has four win? Can’t find that anywhere. If you can, please send it to me. I don’t think that list exists. That’s privilege information. I tried to ask chat GPT. They gave me one of the worst lists I’ve ever seen. Uh I I truly think that that is uh information that they’re They’re probably trying to hide your guy Samne Fluffer Vic. That might be what it is. I think I think sincerely I’m not joking. I think that’s probably the problem is a pre9 just like [ __ ] does that count or not count? Does that guy have two or does that guy have six? Like what? Yeah, I think that’s where the Hornets Nest comes from. But I digress. TC. Uh shout out to Jacob Bridgeman. 6565 on the weekend to not win. You know, remarkable. What was the record for most feet of putt made in a single week that I I kind of was half in half out watching when this when they were going over this, but he made 531 feet of putts this week. Like Randy, I don’t know if that’s a lot. Number one in putting. It sounds like a lot. He made really good. He made 199 feet of putts on Saturday alone. Uh then another 141 today. It’s uh you know it’s shout out shout out to our guy Junior Bridgemond who was also good from downtown. Right. You feel me? Tommy, are you are you gonna celebrate this? No, Tommy. Yeah, he he set up the back door to perfection. T4 uh you a little cut down for for R for uh DJ’s pat in the hat top five play. I think three guys. I think that I think his play included ties. I think we’re fine there. Okay. But yeah, 60 6765 on the weekend uh to not win. He you know uh pretty pretty clean card overall. He was sixth in putting, which I love to see, guys. Uh, we’re trending. We’re trending. I don’t think Quail Hollow, you know, probably not the best fit for him, but he’s he’s saving himself for I think Oakmont and Port Rush are like two of the best looks that he’s had at majors in years. You guys had a stat earlier that you were you were floating around courtesy of J Ray or Tommy. These are and these are just numbers, TC. These are just numbers. This is Justin Ray, of course. uh most top 10 finishes on the PJ tour without a win in the last 40 years. So, not that big of a sample size. Uh only 40 years, but uh Tommy Fleetwood has 40, including today. Brett Quigley, your boy TC, has 34 and Graham Delay Delet uh I’m sure we’ll hear Delet either way. Uh has 33. So, he he’s he’s expanding his lead in this dubious category. Yeah. He’s got, you know, all sorts of, if there, if we’re counting world tour stuff, he’s got the Kazakhstan Open. He’s got all sorts. He won that British Par three championship, which I think we need to dig in on. He’s playing great golf right now. And you guys, you know what I did, TC? I went back and listened to the first 10 minutes of the uh of the pod we did after the when Big Tone won the Northern Trust. Uh, and just just to hear it’s a great win over what we put up against it. It’s a tough it’s a it’s going to be a tough one for you. It’s going to be not only he had won and you were like look how many times Dustin Johnson’s won since Tony Fen now last one. If we just reapplied your logic to from that one into the Fleetwood stuff, it would be it’ be a long it’d be a long night for you. And in fact, I think I think we are it is time to remind everyone that Surf Pro is the number one brand in cleanup and restoration is known for making any mess like it never even happened. I believe in a T4 the worst thing he did this week. You have something that you need to uh hopefully make like it never even happened. Yeah. Uh listen, I wasn’t watching live. He struck a cop. TC He hit a cop. He hit a cop. Uh Richie Oinski is livid. Uh, he hit he hit a cop. That’s not what we’re about. Everybody else was ducking. The cop was was in the line of duty, you know, keeping the patrons back up there. Those those rowdy Philly fans and uh he hit a cop and I don’t even know. I couldn’t even tell. Hit him on like two bounces or one bounce. Hit him very. But still, that’s like touching an umpire, man. That doesn’t doesn’t matter how hard you hit him. There’s no contact allowed. TC, I just want you to just uh, you know, completely distance yourself from this. Say this is not what you’re about. I already did. I already did on X the everything app. Um, a lot of people came to came to my defense there. They said, “Hey, you know, got to get that out there out there.” Honestly, you got to spin this. Clearly, he yelled four because everybody ducked. Like, you got to they duck 30 seconds before he even hit it. It was great. Proper four call for sure. So, uh, you know, it’s sometimes it happens, guys. If you if you’ve got a mess you want to make like it never even happened, you can go to serpro.com or call 1800 serve pro. Today, TC, I’ll m I’ll double up here. I do have another a mulligan or an apology I’d like to make to you. I forgot that part of our bet about the match at Oakmont was I had to wear the Pews hat and not explain the bet. And I totally I blew it. I just I couldn’t I couldn’t not explain it. Uh, so I am displaying the Pews hat back here. Um, which I think we’ll get into some hat stuff a little bit later on. Just to I do owe you that apology. That was S. I thought you were going to go with uh with one. This was you know percolating on our Slack this week. Our friend Zoot, one of the one of the Encourse Osteos out on the the LPGA tour. Um said, “What the hell is Sie talking about with Heyon? It’s It sounds like it is some sort of sound that we are are incapable. I’m incapable of making this sound. It’s almost like a rolled R. So, the easiest way to do it is to say, “Hey, on the second one, second one was good.” Second one was good. Now you’re in your head. I don’t know the I can’t I don’t I don’t think we’re supposed to know the difference. I I will not apologize for this one at all. It’s not Hey, Ran. That’s what everybody kept saying was hey ran you. And so I was like, on the broadcast they say, “Hey, you.” That’s what it sounds like to me. I think we’re supposed to like roll the R. Hey, the Korean ladies. I don’t speak Korean. They all listen, I don’t you know, I don’t speak British, right? But you know that like I I can’t I can’t make some of the sounds, but you know, they some of the Korean ladies, they were really upset. They were texting and they all were saying that I’m gonna gonna go ahead and throw a challenge flag on that one, but no, I would not apologize for that one. I feel like I’ve told this story before and it’s not Oh, sorry, Cody. Go ahead. Well, I knew this was going to come up, so I decided to get on to, you know, the LPJ. There’s a lot of tough names that are out there. So, they have a pronunciation guide on the LPGA media site. So, I pulled it straight from from her mouth. You hate on you. Helpful. I hear the D. Like, do we not? We don’t hear the D there. Hate on you. Pittsburgh Midwest Northeast kind of. Play it one more time. Play it one more time. It’s like the dress. Play it one more time. You I think you can kind of hear whatever you want to hear there. It’s It’s yellow dress, blue dress. This is I’m I may have told this before and it’s not even that good of a story so I apologize but I remember being vividly at at the RSM Classic. Hey Blake is really good. I remember being at the RSM Classic one time and just listen to these volunteers go through the Caddyy Bibs like trying to get them sorted back in alphabetical order and I remember it was Brendan De Young and Andrew Fabota were playing in the same group and this like this just Sean dude was there just like ripping off the names. He goes, “All right, we got uh we got Djang right here and we got uh Sabata.” Uh and he just was I was sitting there for like 30 minutes just listen to this guy read names and it was it was good stuff. So S you might want to maybe uh consult with him see if he has any on this pattern. But uh TC I believe we’re going one other thing too. S I know you got the the phenile you know Tommy stuff holstered up for a future date. I’ve had a few people, I think they’re running our transcripts through AI or something. I had a few people look up some of the stuff that I was saying about Scotty pretty early on, 2018, 2019 into 2020. That’s great. Send those people my way. I got a whole list of ones I’d love names I’d love to follow up on as well. Tumi Kaya, I like to just go through the whole TC list. Nick had a top five last week. Nick Hardy, how’s he doing? still floating around, you know. Anyway, we’re going down the leader also treated Scotty like a puppy that he wasn’t quite ready to Yeah, there was a lot of just like good golf and then just straight killed him. He’s like, I want nothing to do with him. No, it was a Frankenstein thing. Sent him back to the orphanage. So anyway, uh Steven Joerger played well. Cam Young, T7, Sign of Life. We go. Sign of life. I think he’s, you know, very just up and down. I think he, you know, his last time out, uh, or really T-54 at Heritage and then cut at the Masters at 7279. So, signs of life for him. He Quail Hollow probably a pretty good fit for him, right? You know what? I was just going to look that up, TC. He’s played there twice. T34, T-59. Okay, maybe not. Uh but you know those are big fields though also that we’re this is a totally different week than the normal week we see at Quail Hollow. Like it’s a it’s a week later like I any like I say throw the models out for this tournament completely. This is going to be qualing it again. Are are you guys familiar with Xander’s last three finishes at at Quill Hollow? Negative one -2 uh T2 he finished second in 2024. He finished second in 2023 and he finished T14 in 2021. So, yeah, I’m I will go I will go on the the JT versus Xander straight up play. I think that’s a I’ll take Xander all day long on that. So, I I’ll ride with you there. All right, I’ll take JT. Okay. Uh Rory played this thing to perfection. T7, clean card today. Um you I think he was 68 today. Putted well. Look, look, it’s gonna it’s going to be everywhere, but do you want to hear Rory’s record there, please? It’s pretty sick. This is I’m going to do it the other way. This is starting in 2010. Win, missed the cut. T2, T10, T8, win. T4, T22, T16, T8 win. T47 win. Uh, that’s wild, man. That’s that’s horses for that’s kind of Tiger Firestone type of territory there. Closing out the T7 category, Keith Mitchell opened with a a first round 61, which ded you said that his first round scoring average is better than I told you this or Yeah, I just sent this over to Cody if he is able to get it up on the screen. This tweet was from golfing Brock in in 2000, Tiger Woods had a round one scoring average of 68.17, which is more than a full stroke behind 2025 Keith Mitchell. He’s averaging 67.1 in first rounds. He’s ranked 97th to 90th in round three and round four scoring average. That’s an unbelievable stat. I love that. That’s crazy. You know, 71 71 on the weekend. Gave two back. Um is he just like blowing up on carbs or something or not getting enough carbs through the weekend? Yeah, I was texting with him earlier in the week on I think on Friday or Saturday morning and he I was like, “Hey, you eating anywhere good this week?” He’s like, “Yeah, I’ve eaten at a couple good places, but I haven’t been downtown.” So he’s he’s not, you know, he’s not eating through the city like he should he’s he’s keeping it, you know, I don’t know. He’s he’s playing good golf right now, though. He’s up to, you know, made made the most of the sponsor exemption or I guess I guess he was going to get in anyway. Up to 47th in the FedEx Cup after that. Got Xander. Uh DB DB didn’t really get off the bus on Thursday. Shot 68. Really slow start. Otherwise, you know, kind of got better. uh 69 68 66 the last last three rounds. So I was expecting a top five from DB this week. Cory, little Corey Connors uh 6667 on the weekend. He’s playing well. Uh H playing well. Ricky, lot of consternation about that that sponsor exemption. T15. Taste it. Gets him from 125th up to 97th in the FedEx Cup. Taste it. Uh could be kind of big. Sorry. from outside the card line to inside the card line. Oh, it’s tough. Oh, it’s tough. It’s really tough. Right. Can I Can I flag one just for your your kind of group C, group D major pools? Uh Cory Connors, as you were saying it, T13, T8 in his last two starts at at Quill Hollow. Is he group C or D? He’s seventh in the FedEx Cup right now. I hope he’s not that far down in the Yeah. Well, then that’s tough because I guess then he’s in group A, group B. It’s like I don’t know if I’m probably taking JT instead, you know. I I still think we should double down on this FedEx Cup. No FedEx Cup points for sponsor exemptions and signature events. Get the money. Take the money. Eject the FedEx Cup points. Your status should not be able to be decided on the sponsor. Keep hooping up the sponsor exemptions, but you shouldn’t be able to get your card. Yeah, I think that’s fair. Uh, what is Big Tone’s record at Quill Hollow? Dee, some signs of life out of Big Tone this week. Uh, God, what a great question. TC, uh, exceedingly mid. Uh, T52, T23, missed the cut, T60, T-21, just never top 10. Never top one top 20. Okay, this version of Big Tone, which is not the version of Big Tone that I rode uh extremely hard for in a previous life, it is amazing as soon as he goes on a hot run, how fast he gives it back. Like as soon as he pops up on the leaderboard, it’s like, “Oh, here comes where did Big Tone go?” No, he just made double immediately. It’s like that astronaut meme of just like Doug, it’s always always has. No, he won six times. You guys missed it. He was winning those events. Six times in Yeah, those Tommy Foxy events. What else we got? Andrew continues his world world tour. Listen, there was a there was a troubling video floating around out there with some backstopping on it. Um, I think you know, Novak tried to get up there and mark it. Ricky plays really fast, I guess. And Ricky played super fast. I guess they’ve been there was a squeegee debacle one or two holes before. Broken squeegee. They had to get another squeegee out. They fell behind. So, the tour officials were like, “Hey, you guys got to catch back up.” Um, but Nova, he he is vehemently I I actually discussed it with him personally. He’s vehemently anti-backstopping. Like he could not have been more apoplelectic about it. He was like, “Dude, I I am like the leader of the backs stop like anti-backstopped on tour.” And uh you know, he he was very apologetic. So So what was the issue was that the other guy played too fast? Could he call a penalty on the other guy or something? Can he can heal? Yeah, I mean he was I think the walk protect the field and then Ricky was you know yeah Ricky kind of played quick from the bunker. So uh and then you know ended up glancing his ball. I don’t think Ricky’s ball would have gone that much farther past if it if it hadn’t. What if that’s the one shot that gets him his card in a sponsor exemption? This is how this [ __ ] happened. [ __ ] nesting doll. How this [ __ ] happened. Just you don’t say we didn’t warn you. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Novak though, T17. Uh, he’s up to fifth in the FedEx Cup. [ __ ] Uh, also he want to have the RDER Cup conversation. Yeah, you tell me. What does he need? Spawn also, you know, T7 tied with Novak. Spawn or Novak? Who do you want? Let’s start to get serious here, man. Are we doing this or not? Can’t get any words out. Looks like he’s got a lawyer like telling him don’t don’t [ __ ] say anything. Don’t say anything. They’re they’re trying to get Miranda. I think it’s something they could use against you in September. Don’t say anything. Uh Sam Stevens could go on a run. He’s up to he’s up to 29th. Yeah. When you hear a name when you hear a name you’d rather have. You You stop You stop us. We’re so fine. We’re so fine. Anyway, I give you Let me give you my 12 guys right now and we’ll be totally fine. Yeah, please. Please. Scotty, Bryson, Morawa, JT, Henley, Kantlay, Burger, Spith, Burger. [ __ ] Uh, Mav, that’s 10. Okay. Mav is a lock over Novak. I didn’t say a lock. I said he’s probably on the team right now. [ __ ] Who do you do after that? Uh Luke Clanton of course and Zelatorus. Oh, you’re putting Zelator on. No, Xander is on there. That’s 11. And then I’m not I’m not giving you a 12th guy. Somebody will emerge as a 12th guy is emerging right now. I don’t understand how you don’t see it. Uh TC anything else or you see Yeah, I was hoping Keegan would make a run 64 on Thursday. We didn’t talk about Keegan. he could be 12, you know, kind of kind of went backwards on on Friday and Sunday. So, uh, some signs of life out of Max 668, uh, first two days. Was glad to see that. Um, speed seems to be kind of, you know, just simmering below the surface. He was T34, not exactly what we were looking for. Uh, what else we got? Yeah, we talked as we sit here now. Would you say Speed’s more likely to be on the Ryder Cup team than not? Yeah, but I don’t think that’s I think he’s trending. It was an issue when I brought that up a couple months ago. If you’re going to do the septic tank thing all over me, we’re going to have to reuse that one. Speeam is not on the radar at all right now. Yeah. Yeah. Lope. Um, what else? Taylor Pend plus. You know what I’d not do is Patrick Reed. We’ve done that. We’ve gone down. I still see that being brought up and we’re just not doing that guys. You’re not doing Brooks or you already I Well, throw Brooks in. Yeah, I forgotten Brooks is He’s like that. I was going off the last six months strokes gain. I don’t even know where the [ __ ] he is on that though because he is not been he’s like down there with big tone and Bubba like that’s and Justin Lowour that and Joe Highmith that’s where they are on the list. So got start playing some golf. I would be I would potentially leave Brooks at home if he keeps playing like this. I’ll say that. I’ll tell you somebody I could see making a run this summer. I’m gonna just pull this out of nowhere. He could probably play for either team. He could probably get his citizenship back. Michael Thorbjornson. That’s sick. Interesting. I love that. Probably a really good course fit for uh Beth Paige as well. So anyway, we had Sahit shot 78 third round withdrew. Michael Kim withdrew after after Friday. Team Rose withdrew 7077. And I think he he was he was posted up eating a bunch of cheese steaks uh for the tour. So he was giving swing tips to the guys making the cheese steaks. And then sometimes golf man. Yeah. 7278 uh finished DFL. The guys who didn’t didn’t withdraw. So rooting for him to kind of find some magic. Anyway, can we talk about Foxy now? Of course. Of course. Great week at the Truist. But moving on uh to the opposite field event, Myrtle Beach. Ryan Fox is your winner in a playoff over Harry Higs and McKenzie Hughes. I was kind of saying this earlier. This is TC’s talked about his dreams on this podcast that Hey De, I’m I’m extremely sorry to do this. Final thing before we move off truest. It’s unfair with how much time we’ve spent in Amsterdam like ripping on coverage that now that it’s really good. We don’t even you know it just doesn’t it doesn’t deserve like we don’t need to like harp on it. Like I just again want to throw a a praise hands at CBS for what they’re doing covering golf because commercial load still big always going to be big but they’ve made it so it’s not miserable to watch golf on the afternoon. Saturday and Saturday was awesome watching Sunday is great. The drone tracer is truly transformational. So I’m really sorry to interrupt all that but I just wanted to give a quick hamster. Trevor’s Trevor’s become the most thoughtful like he’s like the the conscience of the game at this point. Doy’s like best class. I mean, Doy’s, you know, at the top of like like historical, you know, uh game right now. So, yeah. All in. Um and yeah, DJ, can we can we badge it? Can we can we oneflight it down at Myrtle Beach? I was saying TC’s talked about his dreams a lot on this podcast and if you told me the sentence, uh, Ryan Fox, Mackenzie Hughes, and Harry Higs are in a playoff in Myrtle Beach for a PJ tour win, I’d be like, that sounds like one of TC’s like lucid dreams. Like, oh, I got to tell you guys about this. It was [ __ ] crazy. Uh, but Foxy, proper player, hits a skanky ass drive in the playoff, misses the green, and then chips in for his first PJ tour victory. TC, why why are you fired up for this? I don’t know. Oh, I just Foxy. I’ve never heard a bad word about the guy. Um, I like that there’s a really good Kiwi on the scene right now. Sie, you kind of attribute it all to that one shot that he hit at the Masters. You all attribute that. He hit one really low shot and everybody’s, “Oh, he’s a [ __ ] proper player. It went over the green. It wasn’t even a good shot, but he hit a low shot and everybody freaked out about how he’s a proper player and he’s one of the most improper players on in the entire golf universe.” No, Sully. I was I was on a uh I was on the Yardage Book New Zealand podcast earlier this week recounting my trip and um on there we were talking about Foxy and I learned that Foxy holds pretty much every single course record of note in the entire country of New Zealand. Like if if you are a reputable golf course, Foxy holds the like he’s got it at all three courses at Tarai and Natiieri. He’s got uh parapumu. He’s got Tidarangi. I mean, he’s just knocking them off left and right. Proper player. Just blowing it over all the dog legs, just abusing him. And he just looks like he just got done playing rugby and he just a proper sportsman. I wonder gosh, I don’t know how you would ever find this, but I wonder who literally who holds the most course records in the world. What a what a title belt that would be. It’s like when Max set the course record at Ponovian Club and they came out and he’s like, I don’t want it. I’m good. I picked up on the first or like I didn’t hold out. I think we played the up tease that day, too. I don’t know if he would, but I mean I I just think I think Foxy Foxy might be the mega bloke. That’s what he seems like. That’s what he seems like. I probably be an interesting podcast. We might need to might need to effort that at some point. Uh what else did we have on the leaderboard there? Hugh was the favorite coming in and Harry has been playing good, right? Yeah. I mean, I keep feeling like I want to say he’s been in the wilderness, but he’s been he’s been on his way back for quite a while here. I feel like I think this was a big one cuz it gets Harry from like playing like I know last week a few guys skipped by the Byron Nelson CJ Cup thing to play Corn Fairy Tour to kind of it’s you’re like like we’re getting to that time in the year where it’s it’s like you got to put your eggs in one of the baskets. And I think Harry was starting to get there. He was 163rd on the on the FedEx Cup coming into this week. Now he’s well inside the top 125. Um he’s played 12 events, a lot of cuts. Like not great so far, but he’s 112 now, but again, remember the cut off’s 100 now for a tour card. So he could have used a win. Like a win would have gone a freaking long ways for Harry. And I was I was pulling for him. Um had had a look there on 18 both in regulation and in the playoff. um and couldn’t get either putt to fall, but playing some play I would say playing some good golf. He missed last three cuts. He’s missed five out of the last six coming into this one. Like this was a really really freaking great opportunity. T2 is not not going to hurt you and I hope he can he can build off this one. Um Soldier Boy, Kevin U final round 65. Nicholas Norgard. Sally I’ve been you know mentioning his name a little bit. Uh Alex Smallley 67 6767. Uh, you know, Alex Molly on on Mother’s Day, no less. TC’s got 35 of the 36 spots covered on the roulette board. Like, call that one. TC has been thrown out a Nicholas Norard trial balloon the last the last. Let’s just see how it goes. Oh, that one actually called that one. Uh, Rico Rico played well last week at the Byron Nelson. Uh, Rico not a proper player. I think he’s he’s just like really good off the tea. the best driver of the golf ball outside of Rory in the world. Uh 64 today though, so good. Many false reports in our Slack that Tom cut Tomkin missed the cut. I can report that that was not true. He finished T. T54. That changes everything. I know. So all this fake news, I got to check so much stuff now. I want to issue I want to issue an apology there. Uh, we mentioned it in our happy hour, but Nathan, also Tom Kim lost lost four and a half shots to the field with his iron play this week. It’s not going to get it done. Field event. Fox won. This is not a real tournament. Nathan Franks, who came out of uh the the queue at Myrtle Beach, the uh kind of half aspiring pros, half creators, uh plays for an unrestricted sponsor exemption. Uh made the cut, finished T37, so good for him. Shout out to him. And uh it seems like he’s tied with Blades Brown. How about that? Uh I would encourage any opposite field tournament to maximize stuff like that. do do weird [ __ ] with your sponsor exemptions like that immediately flipped over to that leaderboard just to check to see how he was doing this week like that if you want to generate some interest for a tournament invite the Steph Curry’s invite the whatever Paul brothers Jeremy Paul was in the field Kaya in the field as well Tumi Kaya beat uh beat Tom Kim also uh Jackson Bird beat his father Uh, really bird. Yeah, Ellen Bird missed the cut. Jackson Bird made the cut. How about that? Uh, on the LPGA tour, Gino Titum wins by four up at Liberty National over Seline the torch over Selene Bier. Uh, Andrea Lee and Carlos Saganda finished T3 and then Yimi No, Nelly Corda with disappointing final round and Stephanie Kuriku finished T5. Uh, kind of waiting the last couple weeks. It seemed like everybody was kind of primed for a Gino breakout and and kind of knew this was coming, was waiting for it to come. I think she was kind of at the, you know, ready to burst out of the starting blocks a little bit and finally does it up there at Liberty National this week. So, congratulations to her. Cody, anything anything we need to know from uh from Liberty National this week. Great event. I still think it’s uh having the LPJ tour up there. Michelle Wi West, tournament host, does an awesome job. Uh excuse me, wasn’t prepared to talk. Sorry to the audio listeners here. Uh but no, it’s awesome. Happy to see Gino. I think if you listen to our p our preview podcast at all earlier this year, Randy was super bullish on her having a big season. Um and it’s kind of where we wanted her to be. She’s really really good for the LPGA tour. She’s good for the global game of golf and having her like actually getting more more wins is always a great thing. now she just needs to sack up and put herself in contention at a major and actually follow through because she’s been there so many times now. It just seems like we’re just so close to being able to close it out. And she talked about that in her post round press conference about how much she learned from the chevron. Uh and she’s like, I there’s just some short game shots that I didn’t have and I have to get better at them and that’s all I’m thinking about before we get to Milwaukee. So very very excited for her at Aaron Hills because you want need somebody to hit along and straight and like can putt really really good. Sounds like a good recipe. Zero top three finishes in majors for her with her level of talent is is can’t have it. We now it’s time for the time for the next step in that one. Even like this is our fifth LPJ tour win. One of them being a team championship with Ronnie Yin. Keep it going. Keep it going. It’s it’s you know we she’s like she she is um God what’s a good comp of somebody that is probably like Rom when he came up that just like I remember it kept saying Xander right like before Xander really like really went off right seems like their player profile similar and and almost reminds me of Anthony Edwards in the NBA yly talented yeah just like all right cool like you got to do in the playoffs now like you gotta got to step it up so Yeah, I think I don’t know. I’m stoked for the between Aaron Hills and then I think that first look at Frisco like seeing seeing the ladies play that it’s going to be hot as [ __ ] down there. But uh but yeah, I think I don’t know. It was kind of a disappointing like it it should have been a really good like final round. Like Seline was right there, Andrea Lee was right there. Um Nelly was right there. And they all kind of just got back down. Like Gino just slammed the door one by one by four. Um was up there just just, you know, kind of hammering the pace, you know, just just bringing it to a to a crawl again. Well, like traffic in the tunnel over there. Yeah, I we’re going to continue with that co-branded that TC and I have going, but like Carlo is playing really [ __ ] good golf. And I honestly think that the the pace of play policy that LPJ tour put in place now, I think is helping her because it’s it’s forcing her to actually pay attention, be in the moment, and not like she was always the one that just let every little distraction affect her, and now it’s impossible for her to do that. and she her like her results are doing the opposite of what we thought we would happen because we thought she would be the one automatically getting penalties right away and then you know being mad as hell about it and it’s not. She playing way better than I expected. Yeah. Uh Rio Teada too I think another uh another top 10 for her. Like she’s she’s going to win a major this year guys. She’s it’s gonna happen. I’m telling you. and DJ mentioned Steph Keryaku, but like she is a prime position here. She’s she’s entering major contender realm and she’s just continues to grow and grow and grow and the more top 10s that she gets on these big field events on courses that actually matter. And I understand like we poke fun and make jokes about Liberty National all we want, but like it’s awesome to see the LPGA tour out there. It’s awesome to see the purse that Zuo puts up for it and it’s really really cool to have golf on CBS. Even though it’s kind of the same same voices but just a different look at it, it changes the whole thing. So, bravo to uh the whole team. Then shout out to Aphrodite Deng for winning the AJ portion of it as well. Dope name. Great name. There you go. Uh Aaron Hills is going to be awesome. I was out there for the media day. Uh was that Monday of this week? And I love love love the fact that, you know, kind of kind of what made it I don’t want to say not work for the men’s game, but what made the scores crazy low is the width out there combined with no wind. And I feel like on the LPGA, you know, I know I don’t follow it as closely as Randy, you or uh Cody, you and Randy, but it’s like they all pretty much drive it so straight anyways that I I really really love the idea of having a wide golf course and making it a pure second shot test and letting some of the best iron players separate themselves and letting the sides of the fairways matter and letting who has the most creative short game matter. It’s just it’s going to be awesome. I’m sure we’re gonna have a lot more Aaron Hills talk, but uh it was very fun to get out there on Monday. I heard my guy USGA Mike got got done dirty by the 15th hole, too. Uh I got to play with USGA Mike Juan. I got a featured group, you know, group 1A. Don’t know how that Thank you to our friends at the USG. I don’t know how that happened, but we had a great great great day out there. Uh and we got to the 15th T and you know it was it was playing like 275 front uh drivable par4 for those that have not been. And we’re all kind of looking around. We’re like, man, we’re not playing like a team game. We’re not like there’s nothing on the line. We don’t have a match. Go. Like, of course, we got to like send it up there, you know? Otherwise, it’s like you’re hitting a sixiron out here and hitting a wedge on the green. Like, come on. Like, let’s let’s go for it. And and USJ Mike, although I can say he drove it on a string all day. Just got a little loose with that one over on that right side. TC, you know, there’s nothing good that lives over there. You know, a couple balls rolling back to his feet. It was It was tough. And otherwise really tidy round of golf kind of undone undone at the 15th hole. I’m gonna look up USGA Mike right now on uh on the Gin app and see see what he’s playing off of because I would love to I would love to play against I think he said he’s a four. He would be a dangerous four because I made a joke 4.1. Yeah. I like watching him watching him play. I was saying it to him after we finished. I was like you know what would be a sick video is you playing US like US Open locals like mic you up and like go play US Open Locals. And he’s like, “Wow, I’m a four.” I was like, “All right, we gota Yeah, you’re not elam maybe though, right? Yeah, exactly. But sponsor exemption into the into the locals.” Yeah, there you go. Really? Really? I hit him. Nice player. Nice player and a great guy. Everybody’s heard him on this. I mean, looking at his Jin, he’s got nothing but like everything’s between like 77 and 82. Yeah. And then he’s got a 72 from December of last year. He’s posting a lot of rounds. I’m proud of him. Yeah, he’s getting out there. I think we talked to him about that 72 when he was on the That’s right. Yeah. It was on a buddies trip or something. I remember. And then he just got his clock cleaned the whole rest of the trip. I think handicaps were adjusting on the fly. Anyways, uh on the DP World Tour, I got one one last thing on Mizumo before we clos the door. For people who obviously we care deeply about this, but LC T21, another good finish. She’s obviously disappointed in that now, but I don’t think we’ve taken a moment and realized that LC is in the top 10 in the the world rankings. In the official Rolex rankings, LC is in the top 10. Yeah. So absurd. That’s And I think it’s something that like we’ve been part of this journey for a long time. We thought they’re like, “Wow, that you have that potential, but now absolutely fulfilling that potential and seeing that the the name there with the recognition and everything.” It’s so [ __ ] cool. I mean, like over the last four years, I felt I’ve been like, “You’re a top 10 ball striker in the world.” Like over and over and over again. Just kept telling her that and now you’re not just top 10 ball striker in the world, she’s top 10 player in the world. That’s awesome. I’ve gotten way too used to it, too. Like it’s like almost the same journey as Max. It’s just like oh yeah [ __ ] I’ll I think she can win it. A Darren Hills or Frisco. Like they’re both like Yeah. If that kind of course favors her. So Frisco is going to be so hot. Anyway, DP World Tour. Uh yeah, just a quick quick note on the DP World Tour. I mentioned this at the top. Martin Kubra, the French phenom, 22 years old. Played 12 DP World Tour events this year. Top five in four of them. Guy has been an onad stud. Guy’s been a stud. right now. He’s got absolutely great lettuce as you the the viewers of our live show can uh can watch now. Looks like it’s always been that way. Uh just just a great great vibe. Uh this was I I got a hand up. I have not been following his career closely, but I was excited to do a little little mini deep dive into it today. So, uh shout out to him. Another player to keep an eye on TC. Put him in your get him in your program, you know, show him the ropes, show him how to be a pro. I I have nothing but confidence that he’s going to he’s going to be a great future future player for your European squad. Will you put him on is he a lock for the team right now, TC? No, he’s not a lock team yet. So sick. That would be so sick to call him a lock right now. Uh I don’t know. We We saw some signs of life out of Vic out of Victor Perez this week, too. Maybe we get a a f a fiery franophile squad on the the team. I love that. Uh guys, I I’ve prepared just a tasteful small little back nine for us here. We’ve got a lot of stories. We can move through these fairly quickly, I think. But uh hole number 10, we’re going to kick things things off. Where else would we start? I thought you guys did a great job bringing a lot of awareness to the big letter hats. Uh indeed, we’re just getting started with that. I think this is a hundredyear war. This epidemic, I think, is way far more farreaching than any of us really uh understood. As expected, as you guys called it out last week, just hundreds of messages coming to, you know, across all of our desks. We’ve mentioned it a couple times now, but uh the libnat Liberty National ones we were we were aware of. TC, what did we see this week, though? Uh the torch uh really bad, really, really bad stuff. Um, if you’re not piecing this together, of course, this is a reference to the Statue of Liberty, which is very visible uh from Liberty. Could be, you know, this could be a January 6th hat, all sorts of different things. Just really bad bad stuff. Uh, we we’ve gotten reports from our beloved Cray Cray has fallen. That’s that’s awful. We we hate seeing that. Uh TC, I saw the White Bear Yacht Club has been taken over. the yacht. Little yachty. I think they could have gone with y c ht. You know, y can I kind of flex either way? Could be a vowel or a consonant. Uh I I my I think favorite one I saw this week was uh my beloved Lsonia lynx, the Langford and Maro gem up here in Wisconsin is selling these steam shovel hats. No vowels, which you know, puke puka getting in the game. So G4 started this madness. G4’s gotten or uh Puka’s gotten in the game. And then Imperial’s also gotten in the game too with with smaller, you know, oddly shaped letters as well. This is Mountain Lake, which is a really really rucker style one, too. It’s interesting. I haven’t seen that play. Um yeah, it’s just that that’s you know, that’s the Imperial one. Extra concerning. It’s a rope hat as well. This is a lot going on there. Yeah. And this is like a blueblood kind of, you know, really really old school club. And seeing them fall victim to this hits a little bit different than say a Liberty National or a Quill to anybody, man. You think Exactly. Could happen to anybody. Like parents, Greens committees, um general managers, talk talk to your kids. Okay. We might just quarantine again for two weeks. Like the word of mouth like it just got it just kind of went too a little too viral. Everybody started copying. We Everybody’s got to quarantine. No social media for two weeks. I think these things will go away. I think that’s right. Uh there were some Tilly ones out there this week at uh just big Tilly hats at Philly Cricket. Thankfully there wasn’t a whisten one, you know, a WSH cn. I haven’t read every I haven’t read everything on on Awilling Hats. I just don’t think he would like the Tilly hats though, personally. But, uh, I was going to say if we were going to make some for for our own squad, you know, if we’re making a SI hat, we’re making a Tron hat, a KBV hat, what what I’m curious what those hats would would say. I think for Sullie, it’s it’s clear. I I was thinking the buoy I think would be a really good SY one. TC, I know you said data just a simple put your data hat on. Yeah. I think it would be good. I don’t know if you guys had any other any other nominees. I think just just generational driver with no vowels. Sure. I like that. Cool. Just a Tron Carter one. I think it’s nice with it. That’d be tasteful with no vowels. A Tommy one with no vowels, but that’s just TMM. T5. I would wear one that said tone like T O N E like big tone. Just tone like No, big big and cursive. Really? I know the tone. L tone. Oh god, that’s that’s fun. That’s a good one. Uh yeah, we got to think of like a beluga one would be would be solid. No vowels could work. Money round MN Y R&D. I like that. Oh, that’s actually pretty good. So, I don’t know. Be be vigilant out there, you know. Check Check on your people. Make sure that make sure they’re doing okay. Could you Could you do a back tea bandit one for me with no pals DJ? Wait till people see that, man. We got to put a bunch of those on pre-order. Um, in uh in far more serious news here, guys, uh, whole 11, the USGA is struggling to find a broadcast partner potentially. This is, uh, the USJ’s, um, contract for their championships, US Open, US Women’s Open, the US AM, the Walker Cup, all all of these championships get rolled up into the same deal. That contract is held by NBC and expires in 2026. Uh, worth noting, I think, that Fox currently pays over half of this deal, uh, pays over half of NBC’s rights fees after backing out of their 12-year deal from 2020. Uh, Pucks, John Orand was reporting that there may not be a So, so they kind of have this, you know, NBC has an exclusive kind of like renegotiation period. It sounds like they’re out of that and now they’re taking it to the wider market and Pucks John Orand was reporting this week may not be a ton of interested buyers. CBS was very meatelymouthed, very corporate speak and just kind of telegraphing we have no interest in this. Uh and SBJ, Sports Business Journal, uh in March suggested that there could be a chance to break things up, maybe put US Opens, uh into one deal and then everything else into, you know, either a Golf Channel deal or, you know, streaming only deal or something like that. Golf Channel is going to be Versent. It’s part of the Zaz’s uh Spin Co. Yeah. So, I I don’t know if you guys had any takeaways from this kind of just reading this into the record as as one to follow, but is there is there like an ideal outcome for for fans here in and what people should be rooting for? I think the ideal outcome would be like if you know Andy Jasse or Tim Cook or Eddie Q got like really really really into golf and just said hey you know Prime or Apple TV or something like that. We’re gonna we’re going to blow this out and make this a loss leader. Yeah. I think the best result for fans is that it doesn’t get sold for a ton of money and thus isn’t like something that you have to sell massive amount of ads up against. But at the same time, NBC didn’t pay a massive amount of money for this and has just waterboarded us with ads to the point where like they had to like sheepishly dial it back and brag about dialing it back like two minutes. So, no, I don’t think to answer your question, D, I don’t think there’s a a uh a lack of competition in the market is is a a bad thing in terms of like just letting it probably fall back on NBC. Um, if I had confidence that if they got it for cheaper, they would present a better product, I would get excited, but I do not have that confidence. Kind of a bummer that ESPNABC wouldn’t be involved. Yeah. I think it’s just like they you don’t want to be out on an island like Fox was. Like this was the only golf they did. So, like trying to They already have Masters and you know ESPN ESPN they have PGA and but that’s just all linked with like CBS still runs like the production for a lot of that stuff. So you know if it was ESPN CBS that would be a great option corporate with all the Paramount stuff. Yeah. Big sale to you know Ellison and all that right now too. I think the big thing is I don’t know where we’re where I There you go. uh Caffeine TV. I I think where my ears kind of perk up on this is is just what happens when the first one of these deals kind of goes backwards. You know, it just feels like all of these deals have kind of just gone forward forward forward bigger bigger bigger bigger bigger bigger and to the point where it’s like, you know, I know the tour ratings have bounced back in like a a very very big way uh this year, but you know, if things do start to to quote unquote right size as a lot of people think they might it then it’s going to be interesting to see who that happens to first or I think it did, right? I think this happened to Fox. I mean Fox like way over spent on this and really effed up the market. Piff, shout out to the PIFF. Honestly, something else would be like Sally, I know that I saw this week that um YouTube is bidding or I think YouTube’s going to throw something on not just YouTube TV, but YouTube specifically like that might be the ultimate, right? If if Google and YouTube just said, “Hey, we’re gonna that would be the most accessible thing that the that the USGA could do.” Yeah. It just feels produced. Oh, that’s what I was going to say is like golf is such a weird one where it’s like if you’re Google or whoever and you kind of just want to get into like quote unquote sports, it almost is like golf is probably the last one you’d pick because it’s so [ __ ] expensive to to televise, you know? But if I’m the US there, I don’t know. NFL game is what you were referring to. I think if I’m the USGA, I probably if the market’s not there, I might try to sign like a three to five year deal, a shorter one, and then kind of stabilize. Yeah. Let things kind of, you know, I feel like we’re kind of between like like stuff hasn’t made itself clear yet, if that makes sense. Uh well, we shall see. Something to keep an eye on. Uh hole number 12, gentlemen. Uh speaking of the USJ, the Walker Cup is headed to Princes in 2030. Uh the US likes to announce a lot of their venues way in advance. The internationals uh had not advanced or had not announced any international Walker Cups beyond the RNA, not the Sorry. The RNA, sorry. Sorry. The RNA had not announced any locations beyond the next one. Uh but now we know that that will be princes nearly 100 years after they hosted uh the Open in 1932. Uh, let me just read these off. Always kind of worth reading. Uh, just as a kind of a holy [ __ ] lineup. Uh, future Walker Cup venues. Here we go. 2025 this year, Cypress Point. 2026, they’re playing it back to back, I think, to get back on schedule. Uh, La Hinch. 2028 is Bandon Dunes. 2030, as mentioned, is Princes. 2032 is Oakmont. And then 2034 will be International. That’s TBD. 2036 Chicago Golf Club. And then 2038 through 2042 are TBD until we get to 2044 which is Pine Valley. Uh so Splash World. Some some pretty heavy hitters there. So congratulations. Princess was kind of a surprise. I think it was slated for I think Mr. Slumbers spot at Royal Sync Ports and then they ended up taking over Princes. So yeah, very kind of some back room stuff seemed seem to be going on. I’m not super wellversed in princes. It sounds like they have they’ve been doing a lot of work there both like on and off the golf course. So maybe that has something to do with it. But uh a place I’ve never been to and a place I’m looking forward to uh looking forward to watching world class golf at. So uh TC hole number 13 uh our friends at King Collins Design are King Collins Dormer Design. King Collins Dormer Design, I’m sorry. Uh are doing a uh a collab with Royal Dornick, I’m told. What what’s the what’s the word here? Yeah, they’re redoing uh a the club bought some some adjacent land to uh kind of be able to beef up the Strey course, which is kind of their sporty B-side track. Uh kind of totally reimagine that. And then uh also in the plan is uh a new par three course. And then of course they’re going to build a new clubhouse facility too, which is badly needed. I think that that clubhouse is is tough there. But I think between this and everything going on at Castle Stewart or Habit Highlands I think they call it now and then also I think Cool Links is looking somewhat promising. Um it always blows me away how tall Rob is too. Every time I’m with him I’m like man you’re just tall dude. Uh, but no, I I love Dornick having a proper 36 holes there on site plus Aurora and Goulsby and Taine and Fort Rose and you know like there it’s it’s I think I’m betting on the Highlands. I think the Highlands is starting to starting to buck its head even more bullish on that area. I also feel like this uh you know that that photo that was just up there of of Rob and Tad and you know Trevor now like working at Royal Dornick is kind of the equivalent of Lauren being in the top 10 in the world as well right of just like oh whoa look at that look at our friend sick look at our buddy just [ __ ] doing it man that’s nuts a royal Dornick whoa and I feel like you know Dornick needed this too after the foxy debacle the hat debacle last you know, they had to kind of Yeah. No club’s ever bounced back past. Who’s back of the week? Yeah. So, I think Dornic, I don’t think they’ve approved it yet. The member like they presented to the membership. Actually, the the whole proposal and everything is is on YouTube. Go watch it. It’s It’s dope. It’s It’s very very creative routing and and uh yeah, just spectacular. But yeah, I’m just jealous of like Rob getting to go stay at the golf hotel right next to the first tea. I think that’s like my favorite hotel in the world right there in that back room. I love that. Uh, speaking of jealous, our our guy Jamie Kennedy was just whipping around some of these golf courses this week, too. Having a trip. Yeah, he uh Yeah, Jamie just solo. He was he was riding solo with a half set and a drone and a and a camper van. Started at uh Boat of Garden uh up or actually started at Colin and played Colin, which gosh, I love that place. And then went to boat of garden which uh Zach and her and I uh stopped by there on actually my last trip to the highlands. We stopped there on the way down to St. Andrews. Board is awesome. James Braid kind of inland design um little steam train there. Then he went to Spay Bay which is the one I need to get more deets on that. It’s reversible now. Uh I believe Dere and Pont and um Cate’s firm has been working on that with the Lynx Dow guys. Uh and then he played at um he went to Coy after that which Kov is just a spectacular little spot. Um you know really like like basically all the places that like Jim Hartzell just loves going. So, um I think he went and then he he went to Mo or Murray Mo, however you pronounce it. Um but yeah, just a like this is the kind of trip that I get extremely jealous of of just basically being able to go, you know, I hope you’re able to hit the road one of these days, TC, and get out and play some play some golf on the road. I I I hope. Yeah. I mean like co like coy is a place that Hartsell’s told me like hey this place is like 12 pounds to play or 15 pounds to play and like one dude looks after it. He’s added a bunch of holes. There’s this dope blind hole. Uh it’s it’s like right down the road from Cullen. Um yeah. I don’t know. I just that that area of Scotland is just get like get off the beaten path. Like you don’t have to as for as great as Dornick is and Narin is and Castle Stewart and all that like you don’t have to go spend 300 pounds on a round of golf. You can go you can go play like six awesome courses for under 100 pounds. Especially as all of those places start to be booked out, you know, six years in advance or whatever. But uh shout out to Jamie to Jamie as always. One of my favorite people to play golf with. Uh hole number 14, guys. Uh, we had a chaotic creator classic. I don’t know if you guys caught this. I’m just reading this into the record. Uh, we have Josh Richards, Eric Anders Lang, and Brad Dulky who are joining the illustrious list of Creator Classic champions. Uh, so of course I know we we’re just on the outside looking in maybe someday. No, absolutely not. I mean, the Caddyy was lining Gran up on the final putt team. Oh, that’s true. Right. No, no, that’s right. I did get I think they amended that. They scratched his name off the plaque. I’m pretty sure. Doesn’t matter. The format for this one was a threeperson alt shot. Uh I’m going to argue this is the hardest format in golf. Uh just impossible to get any rhythm. Very very tough uh format and the scores reflected that. Uh it just the the way it worked it was the same as the last one, but eight holes and then the top two teams advanced to the onehole playoff. I don’t know if you guys looked into how this actually finished or not. I I know we all kind of watched like the first 5, 10, 20 minutes, but I watched the first two holes. I think there was like six rulings on the first hole alone. Everybody kept hitting it in the wrong holes and like bunkers from other holes and getting rulings. So that was again that was reflected in the scores here TC where uh Maris Brownley, Shawn Walsh, and Sabrina and Dulo were three over through eight runaway champions. They were five clear of the field at at three over. Uh but then the like scores were leveled going to the last hole and then the winning team made a bogey and that team uh made a like a quad and so the team who lost by five over the first eight holes then uh was your champion. So it’s a mouthful. I’m just again medium tone Tyler Tony he had a flash pretty hard. Awesome. Uh you know hashtag Chad on the on the bag. I just if we’re gonna TC if we’re going to call him like we see him calling balls and strikes I can’t do the upside down dude perfect hat. Uh as long as we’re just talking hats I I won’t I won’t let that one slip by. I saw Steph was Steph was wearing an upside down hat courtside Bay Area. Yeah, that was tough. Tough. I think we can eratic I think we can lead the charge and get these things get people start talking like dude kind of like the white belts TC you were early on that one as well. Yeah. Um, I think we can have a conversation, you know. Yeah. Uh, I don’t have anything else on the Creator Classic unless you guys do. I just, you know, it’s been it’s been acknowledged and read into the record. There was a guy in a Pinehurst hat that was that was aura farming behind one of the tea boxes that really good vibe and kind of like one of those belt bag. Yeah, it’s really good. I clocked that guy as well. Really good. Um, I think like the creator classic thing I think is is caught between release patterns. Um, I think it is a far, this is a version is a far cry from like, hey, what would like the, you know, some of the biggest YouTube golfers and sie shoot at TBC Sawrass in a tournament setup the night before the tournament starts is a different question than like an alt shot whatever this was. For me personally, like not just the fact that I played in this one, like I’m way more intrigued by the the first question in that of like, dude, yeah, like anything to explain the difference between pros and the people that people watch on YouTube is like a good thing. I think it is a good tie into the event. And this is more like a celebrity proam. Um, which I would say is just the word I would use for all that is very skippable. Like I don’t I it it was irrelevant to me who won this. So at that point, you know, I’m not watching for the competition. Uh, is this how I want to spend my time this year? Gabby Golf Girl wasn’t in it. Nad shot dropped out. That was tough. With Nage hair dropping out. Kyle Lowry’s got a dumper on him. That was impressive. And I don’t think his pants I don’t think his pants fit very well. Uh, I don’t think that was a style choice either. If it was, I apologize. I’m I’m out of date on that. Anyways, it just felt skippable. And uh yeah, I I don’t know. I don’t know where where it goes from here. It’s all It’s all he’s shaming shaming big dumpers on the pod. I just I don’t I’m not shaming it. I’m congratulating him. I don’t know. My my only thing on this and this is from my perspective and if it’s not for me, then that’s fine. And I know all these guys have a bazillion followers and whatever. I don’t get how we’re not working like PJ Tour pros into the PJ tour event on a PJ tour golf course. That’s kind of where I’m like, dude, how there’s just like no connectivity to to any of this. What’s it’s a [ __ ] halftime show at the basketball game, you know? It’s just like kind of meaningless. That lady with the Yeah, it’s like I’m like, “Oh, rad.” Okay. You know, and that’s that’s I none of it’s uh Matt Every was good. Ever and Bacon were good. Yeah. On there. I thought that was like a a kind of much needed dose of of just levity and like hanging out kind of on the broadcast. But yeah, not not sure what they’re after. We’ll see. I don’t know if they have a format for the next one, but uh when’s the next one? Tour championship, which again, now it’s like, well, you’re not going to get any of those guys to participate. So, right. I don’t know. Good luck to to all involved. Uh hole number 15 here, guys. Uh reading, you know, again, reading this one just so people are clocking it. Story from Brentley Romanine from Golf Channel. Uh Vanderbilt is going to NCAA regionals without Gordon Sergeant. Uh he will be out of the lineup for the third time this year. Not injury related, not anything related other than he’s just not playing good golf. And so uh this is a bummer as a as a Gordon Sergeant fan, a guy who spent a lot of time with him at the Walker Cup, guy who watched some really high highs, uh and a guy who just really likes him personally. I think he’s an awesome dude and has a great sense of humor. Uh this is this has been a tough uh decline. A quick little Gordon Sergeant kind of refresher here. First team all-American in each of his first three seasons. Uh won the 2022 NCAA’s. Uh he earned a PJ tour card through PJ Tours PJ Tour use accelerated program. Uh and then decided to go back to college. I think probably knowing that his game wasn’t in, you know, the the perfect spot. He said he tried to chase a little bit of distance or make some tweaks. I don’t think he needed to chase distance, but yeah. Uh so he he is going to be a PJ tour rookie starting at the RBC Canadian Open after he graduates. Uh he has a PJ tour card in his back pocket. Uh but he has also has like the worst scoring average of the nineman Vandy team right now. almost 74 he’s averaging after scoring average like 69 and a half his first three years. I think he was the Vandy career scoring leader. Uh he has been outside the top 50 all five of his starts this spring. He’s fallen to outside the top 500 in the national collegiate rankings. So again pretty crazy because he was number one as of NCAA regionals last year. As 365 days ago a rapid rapid decline. Uh, so again, just sucks for a guy that like got all the NIL money thrown at him, got, you know, a PJ tour card. Like I said, it’s it’s just a guy seems like he’s he’s a little bit in the wilderness right now. So, I for one hope he he gets it turned around. Um, but it’s it’s not been good. So, and I will also mention that uh you know, Brenley got a quote, I think Scott Limbaugh, I think is the coach at Vandy, uh who said, you know, not ruling him out for NCAA’s. Maybe he’ll find something if they do advance and get through to NCAA’s, but he is not uh not going to regionals, which stinks. So, uh hole number 16 here, TC, I know this is kind of your block. A couple names to watch, uh for the PJ tour CEO job. This was via Josh Carpenter, who lists Brian Rolap, the NFL chief media and business officer, and Jared Smith, former ticket master chairman, uh, as as kind of the two top dogs, uh, vying for the job. He also has David Abellis, the Tailor-Made CEO, and NASCAR Kamish, uh, Steve Phelps kind of on the on the short list as well. But, uh, I don’t know if you had any takeaways from these or or kind of anything. Yeah, I think Rolap’s name keeps popping up for this. Um, he also had to think he was involved in some of the college football stuff and I think the NFL had to kind of tell him to like not be involved in that anymore and tone it tone it down over the last year and a half, two years. Uh, but yeah, and then this Jared Smith guy kind of piqu my interest. you know, he was he was COO during the Live Nation merger and he left Ticket Master in 2020. Uh Ticket Master uh is one thing, then he went to Alterara, the ski resort company that’s kind of the uh the other ones, you know, kind of the counterbalance to Veil Resorts in the Aligopoly there. and uh and then now he’s vying to be the PJ tour CEO, which all three of those companies have active antirust investigations going against them right now. So that’s I mean this guy connections thing. If anybody is in, you know, this guy is an anti-competitive specialist. So um yeah, is that what the tour needs? Power to him. Is that a good or bad thing? Yeah, perhaps. But yeah, I mean ticket master like you know pretty pretty bleak customer experience. Uh yeah, it doesn’t make me for being honest. Yeah, I mean DJ, you’re a music fan. You I know I mean I’m sure a lot of that’s just kind of you know like unavoidable latestage capitalism type of type of [ __ ] which is where the PJ tour is desperately trying to get to. They’re trying to get they’re trying to get that get that bag as well. So uh we’ll see. And then Arthur Blank, you know, who’s done an awesome job uh a obviously an awesome job with the Falcons with, you know, Terry uh uh Font knows that the GM, he’s he’s just been a smoldering disaster. And then obviously the the iPad, you know, Shadur Sanders prank call. They’ve been fined for all sorts of uh of different, you know, they were piping in crowd noise to games. They were misstating injury reports for Bejon Robinson. They were tampering with Kirk Cousins last off season. So, of course, uh, you know, Arthur Blank really knows how to hire him. I’m glad he’s he’s in charge of this this CEO search. There’s a great note at the bottom of Josh’s story. Uh, quote, “Arthur Blank, a member of the Enterprise PJ Enterprises board, has been leading the search committee. Sources say he’s been intimately involved in every aspect of the process.” I only read that in because as someone who’s done like the smallest amount of of like actual reporting. All this stuff comes from it’s all leaks from like official sources, right? And it just makes me laugh that someone’s like, “Hey yo, make sure you put AB’s AB’s on this one, man.” Like somebody’s like, “We got to we got to make sure we get that to the press that AB is he’s got his hands on.” Speaking of AB, like in leaks, you know, anonymous sources saying that that uh I think it was Dallas and Vegas bids out there for TGL teams uh you know, this off season and 75. Okay. And then 75 maybe the maybe the Pope involved. Interesting, right? Uh I video him at the 2005 World Series. I don’t know if it’s real or AI. could be my first got got by AI. We’ll see. But uh you know the they were floating a $75 million franchise fee which seems like in talking to some people who you know have been pitched on this stuff, man. They’re like, “Yeah, man. That’s that’s like not even in the in the universe of what they’re going to get for that.” O uh was Detroit and Chicago I thought were the two teams that came out this week that there was there was filings for. So Gilbert that might be why we’re seeing so many block letter hats is they got how many hats they got to sell to move this in the red maybe uh Rhinedorf will get involved in the TGL team. Uh guys hole number 17 solid we just missed him. TV12 the quarterback Tom Brady is on a tour to force of Ireland and Northern Ireland right now. I have sources on the ground guys. He was at Royal Port Rush. This was this was widely publicized. I got sources telling me he shot 72. I don’t know what tease he played. I don’t know if he’s hauling everything out. Uh I’m hearing he shot 72 at Royal Port Rush, which was not out there the day that that we played it, Sullie. Uh but if if TB12 racked up a 72, all power to him. Uh, of course stopped by Royal County Down the photo that you’re looking at here now. Just I just got a a big kick out of, you know, all the people who were sending us off the first tea last week. Saw all the people who were helping us out in the golf shop. All just just yucking it up with Tom Brady. Man, that’s great. He was apparently on a tour with Ry’s guy Morgan Wallen. Uh, who uh who who skipped I believe the American Music Awards. Uh, I I found a couple reports there. I think they’re hucking the football around at uh I don’t know if that I think that was a Royal County down. I think I think he’s over there for a big trip because he also was like then he was playing golf Tom Brady that is was playing golf with J uh James well Jim Gray Jim Gray I mean Morgan Wallen and Jim Gray both of them kind of got cancelled right that’s true and they’re they’re back man so yeah I don’t know that that was a that was an interesting one just wanted to shout out uh you know shout out Tom Tom Brady’s uh Irish golf trip and you know I if he 72 a 72 is low I don’t sure we’ll see it was a good source It’s a good story. I’ll never I’ll never forgive Jim Gray for what he did to Pete Rose at the All-Star game. Sie disgusting. Was Jim Gray the one uh he did the decision Cory Paven at uh at the Ryder Cup? Yeah. God, what a legend, man. Like what is the connection? What’s he doing? Yeah. Wild. And then a uh a good one here. the 18th hole, the finisher. Chris Wood, first top 10 on any tour since 2018. Shot a final round 64 at the Turkish Airlines Open. Uh, and gave an awesome post round presser. People should go watch on the DP World Tour social medias. Uh, just a little bit of background. I don’t think I you know there’s so many players that lot of players cycle in and out and you don’t you just obviously don’t keep up with everybody but you know Chris Wood was absolutely a dude played in the Ryder Cup team Ryder Cup team he he was T5 as an AM at the 08 Open and then backed up with T3 at the the following year at the Open Early podcast guest right was in the before we hit 100 episodes I think he was on one and just has has been dealing with chronic anxiety and burnout. This is a quote from last year. He was playing the the international series, which I think everybody, you know, it’s like the easiest way to get into live, right? But I think he was just kind of looking for any kind of starts because he doesn’t have any status. And so, a quote uh from him, I’ve actually been dealing with that since like 2019, but it took maybe four years before I did anything about it. It took literally bottoming out to stop. I didn’t play at all last year. I took a whole year off. Uh, and this year has been about trying to get my card in hand again. 10 years ago, if you’d said to me, “You’ll be in this position mentally,” I was so unaware of what those words meant. And it takes going through something like this, or someone very close to you going through it before you can actually appreciate what those struggles are actually like. It’s hard because I still feel like I’ve got a rider cup in me. I truly believe that. And I wouldn’t still be putting myself in the positions where I feel anxious and exposed unless I felt like it was going to be worth it. Uh that’s an awful, awful, awful spot to be, I can imagine. and just celebrating the days where, you know, he pieces it together, shoots 64 in the final round, and and finishes T7 over there on the DP World Tour. So, yeah, massive congrats to Chris. That’s that was an awesome story this week. Um, but he is now I I assume into next week, but he’s got no status. He’s just playing off of sponsor invites, so hopefully he can kind of keep the train running and and uh I’m gonna add him to the list. That’s right. Monitoring, man. Uh, that’s all kind of all I had. This is kind of a bonus one, just like a little bit of a, you know, a buy hole sort of thing. TC, you sent this over. I I want to issue a a heartfelt RIP to the wrestler Sabu, uh, who died at the age of 60 and who our friend Big Rander Anthony, you know, sent over this photo and he just said, “Doesn’t this look just like Sie?” And I really I think I think it does. Uh, just it’s it’s very uncharitable, Sully. I know. you know, you don’t you don’t have quite have the gap in your teeth. He’s got a little more Yoast Liton maybe that like they they dialed up the Uncle Yoast uh slider. He’s got kind of a little chin strap thing going on. Not Not a lot of coverage on the front of the chin or I should say h had rip. That just really tickled me. And said, I don’t know if I don’t know if I’m seeing this one. Uh I’m hurt once. I don’t I don’t know if I’m quite seeing this one. I just There’s little glimpses. There’s little glimpses of it that just it’s kind of like you got to unfocus your eyes a little bit, you know, just like look look really quick. If you look super close, it’s not going to it’s not going to hit you. But uh other than that, guys, a couple Yeah, d people people keep, you know, more more smoke around the Rory to to uh Royal Melbourne or Rory to the Australian Open, which is hopefully played at Royal Melbourne. I’ve heard some they’re having some trouble with some of the surrounds down there on on, you know, the fescue surrounds. Um, but man, if that’s the case, summer of summer of golf, hot and heavy down in down in uh in Oz in December, sign me up. Could be uh Yeah, your guy who’s whose job you were calling for, the guy you were calling to get sacked from Golf Australia. If he lands Rory, I mean, that could be a big, you know, it’s a big fish in the boat. No, this should have been happening two, three years ago. Our guy, he’s you know, Rory wouldn’t have come down for the for the co-ed thing with the improper setup and all that stuff. So, well, we shall see. Yeah, some some smoke around there. I think Evan Priest was was uh floating that this week that it sounds like a Rory to Australian Open uh visit could be. Yeah, Rory to Australian Open. Uh guys, we got a lot of content. I I think we can we can flip the page. It is officially Championship. PGA Championship Week. Uh please, please come on out. Come say hey. Come watch. Come drink a High Noon. Uh can’t wait for that. That’s going to be really, really fun. Confront TC and Randy about their Charlotte takes. I know I have multiple family members that are ready to uh ready to boo. Sie, it’s interesting you bring that up. We’ll talk about that more this week. I’m getting in I’ll get in Tuesday. Uh I’m planning on eating dinner Tuesday, Wednesday night. I may go get some sample some breakfast spots on Thursday. Uh thank you to everybody who’s sent out or sent over recommendations. I’ve gotten hundreds of them. Like literally hundreds of them. Uh and also I’ve gotten a lot of notes of people who are like, “Yeah, man. I grew up here. I still live here.” Like you guys kind of nailed it. Spot on. So it does sound like the restaurant scene has evolved and got improved a lot over the last six to eight years since I was last in Charlotte. But um listen, I look forward to talking to a lot of those mid-level junior bankers this week. Uh Cody, was that me with the stocking cap on? Just going back to kind of the wrestler stuff. Of course, that’s me with my notorious mustache. Mhm. Interesting. You don’t think that looks a little bit like Sully and the wrestler there. I don’t know if Ry’s vibe looks I’m like, “All right, TC, I got Neil. I got Okay, Sully. Yeah, for sure. Randy, I I guess that leaves me in the middle. I’ll send you my reference. Don’t worry, buddy. Uh, why am I so short? Why am I so short? The [ __ ] dude? It’s clear. It’s just a framing thing, TC. I knew this could possibly be a point of contention, but you are the shortest one on the squad, and I I had to move somebody out. How tall are you? Uh, five nine. Five. I’m taller. I’m taller than Dej. No, that’s No way you are. There’s no way. We can settle that. We’ll settle that. Happy hour. We’ll do a a true get your bets in now. There’s no [ __ ] way. Oh, I could totally see this. TC’s going to lose and be like, he’s going to blame his chiropractor. He’s like, “Oh, he’s got me all [ __ ] misaligned.” TC’s going to show up with little Marco heels on. I might I might do a little inversion table action beforehand. I’ve got one, TC, if you want it. It’s still yours. It’s in my garage. Just check that, Ben. It could be like You can see Neil’s Neil’s elbow is ahead of yours, so maybe you’re standing back, TC. You know, you’re farther away from the camera, I think. Uh, also guys, subscribe to the NLU newsletter. Let me get that in as well. Don’t don’t miss anything NLU related during the PDA Championship week. Subscribe to all of our newsletters. Uh, this week, new subscribers will be entered into a random drawing to win a mystery box of goodies from the NLU Pro Shop. Love, love, love the mystery boxes. Something we’ve kind of done at the NIT for a long time. Uh, bringing it to the pro shop here. Uh, so go to subscribe.n nollayingup.compga-2025. Say that again. Subscribe.nollayingup.compga-2025 for all the details and how to subscribe. Uh gentlemen, that was a fun one. Fun week calls. We’ll put the link in the show notes as well. Put the link in the show notes. And then thanks to everybody who keeps donating to the Evans Scholars thing, too. I think we got another big donation this week. We did. Uh we’re kind of cooking, TC. We need link also in show notes. Yeah, that’s right. I believe it’s nolangup.comf uh if you would like to donate. We’ve we’ve got some great great great momentum going on the Evans Scholar stuff. So, yeah, let’s keep it up. And I’ve thrown it out there if anybody, you know, Casey asked, she said, “Hey, this guy wants to donate. So, he’s wondering how how much it would be for TC to get in one of the big letter hats.” And I said, “I’ll do it for any any donation over a thousand bucks, I’ll do it.” So, hit me up. Do they pick what’s on the hat? I feel like for thousand bucks, they probably do [ __ ] I mean, I feel like I get I get right of refusal if it’s inappropriate or immoral or unethical. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. T It’s got to It’s got to be aligned with the TC way. I feel like you should have to donate 100 bucks if I’m taller than you. That’s just But personally, deal gladly if I if you know, I’ll wear it as well. All right. What do you There’s another hundred bucks coming to the coming to the kitty. I think I’m team TC on this one. I think he’s a little taller. I think so. I’m like I’m like 510 and a half, dude. There’s no way. Yeah, there’s no way. I am. I am. All right. Well, you might be taller than me, but I will I will bet my I put a lot to this college foundation. I’m taking the under on that one. Maybe when you had hair. Yeah. Maybe when you had hair. Push your hair down. All right. I just got a haircut. Perfect timing. You’re claiming that you’re you’re 510 and a half. I am. No chance. Yeah. There’s no chance. You should be I mean, you’re also taller than me, which I I I believe I am taller than you. Yeah. Okay. You could continue that belief. Well, happy hour. The other thing that uh just coming across I’ll bet you a 100 bucks, too. That sounds good. I didn’t realize this, but the PJ Championship also does a champions dinner. So, Xander, his menu just came out. I’m not going to Everybody wants TC’s reaction. We’re going to hold that as well. So preview tomorrow live on the no laying up podcast channel just like we did during Augusta and then we’ll be back over here on Wednesday. I’m pumped, boys. I think we might need to put a put a pause on champions dinners. We might be expanding a little too fast on on uh on champions. The Thomas Keller fine for Chevron. Just a little I don’t know. They don’t have a Masters either, you know. I’m I’m good with that. Yeah. Yeah. The the ladies is ladies is different. PGA always kind of has felt a little bootleg. Yeah. God, I wonder what Ben’s gonna cook us for, you know, what’s his champions menu gonna be? Who’s gonna be there? It’s just him. True. It’s true. Uh guys, great being with you. 1. Amazing golf course in Japan and great win to Lucas Herbert.
What a joke he’s not in the PGA. 24th on TUGR and 44th on DataGolf. When are the majors going to abandon the farcical OWGR?

  2. PGA Championship draft board…don’t think Bryson is ahead of JT?!
    Forgot about him?
Laughably tunnel visioned towards the PGA tour

  3. Soly you really gotta focus your camera on your face. You mic is in perfect focus but your face is a bit blurry because of it

  4. In the UK the Sky golf coverage is going downhill. SKY no longer take the CBS feed and just do voice overs from London. So we don't get the benefit of the improvements from CBS.

Didn't take Comcast long to start cutting costs 😢

  5. Hae Ran. It’s definitely an R. Korean R has a single roll of the tongue at the beginning making it sounds more like a D
