My dad flew down from from Joberg to to come watch expecting to be there for the whole day, right? My girlfriend too. So, uh they came up and my dad arrived as they said as play was suspended for the day. We got a message saying play suspended for the day. Like there’s definitely not going to be any play today. So, you know, do do what you need to do for today. So, he’s like, “Oh, well, I I can’t stay for Monday. I got work to do. So, I’ll let me just book the next flight out.” So he take he gets the next he’s he’s driving back to the airport when the the tournament director comes to me and says no no no we’re going to do the playoff today probably around 3:00 I just got goosebumps so I call I send him a text like I know you’re probably in the airport like we’re going to play at 3:00 he’s like okay I’m coming back so he comes back from the airport um yeah we kind of waited around for a bunch of time then one of the journalists Michael comes to me and he says uh listen the the RNA wants to do a um a presentation for the for the open spots and that’s when it like clicked that okay like we’re having a playoff and I’ve I’ve got a spot in the open. I’ve also now come either first or second in the SA Open depending on how the playoff goes. Um and with that I’d played well in these DP events before um Maitius and and Russell Ka where I’ve made enough points to where because I finished second I knew I was going to have a DP card for next year with the amount of points that I I had accured. I didn’t know that. Yeah, I didn’t know that. So I would have had a full card um for the following season which would have been a category 10 card which is better than a Q score, better than challenge. I would have had a full card. I would have gotten into most everything basically. So that kind of gave me a little bit of freedom going into the playoff. I I spoke to my Katy Shannon and I said, “Look, like our life isn’t going to change depending on how we play this hole because we’re in for next year. We’ve got a full DP card anyway. So, let’s go play with with clarity and freedom and let’s go make this
