Golf fans, it is time to crown a champion of the Suyup MBN Ladies Open. Welcome to Championship Sunday live from the Star Hugh Golf and Resort. My name is Adam Jenkins. It is a pleasure to once again be behind the mic for what is shaping up to be another sensational day on the LPGA tour of Korea. It is 28° C and sunny. Hardly any wind. The course looks pristine. The forecast is there to match. And we will kick things off on hole number nine. Chem was one of our protagonists at the end of the opening round. She is in the featured group but has struggled through her front nine. Not that anyone in this group is necessarily setting the course on fire. These are championship pin placements and conditions after all. Jay Gamin is at 10 under. That means she trails the leader Chong Yun G by five strokes. It is a 48°ree wedge dead center of the fairway with a pin placement middle of the green and off to the right essentially exactly where our leader has gone. Her advantage is just two. She is even par with a chance to go under by the time she hits the midway mark. And the story line is of course can she hold on and win just her second ever professional title? Anssung is currently tied for third, beginning her back nine and she is two under as she begins the hue or she finishes the hue, pardon me, and enters the star course. That leaves Pungman Gi, who was sensational yesterday with a 66 start of the day in second position. She is also at even through eight. We won’t count her out. A couple of bogeies from the top and a couple of birdies from her throws her right back in the race. And approach shots like that could go a very long way. Chan 2 teeing off on hole number 10. She is currently in second position only two shots off the pace. Consecutive rounds of 67. She started the day in fourth. EA1 is at minus 8 with a chance for Eagle at 11. Tell you a little bit more about 11 as the proceeding groups make their way to the hole. She’s not going to have the double pickup, but she will be able to birdie and it will take her to nine under par. Just outside of the top 10. And it was a slow day for her yesterday when she shot a 70. And that would be a birdie, by the way, to bring her to underpar for the round. We had 120 players in the field here at the Suya MBN Ladies Open. We cut it down to 66 after 36 holes and we have 1 billion1 in the purse this week. Event 10 of the season, the 13th edition of this tournament. Back to nine. Jay Gabin furthest from the pin after the approach shots. The first to look for birdie. Starts to move to the right. a piece, but not enough for it to end up with a circle around the number three. There is Amy Jung for a bird at 13. The next par five on the circuit, the first of two on the back nine. Now, Pong Menji, who has won 19 titles dating all the way back to 2017, just had the one last season, breaking putt, but too much movement. Will be an even 36 for her. at the halfway point coming off a great result of the Tucson match play in which she finished tied for ninth position last year. Pungman G’s victory was one of seven top 10 finishes and one of three podium finishes when she won the Seltry and Queens Masters. Absolutely the wrong club. Too much of it. He goes all the way to the back to extend the advantage to three strokes. Bogei the second, birdied the seventh. Birdie’s the ninth. Just one top 10 finish this season, the Tasheen EPC championship. She finished tied for third from there. T47 at the KOPGA Championship. A colossal disappointment backto backto back top 20 finishes. So she was gaining a little bit of momentum, but this certainly counts as coming as a bit of a surprise to all certainly who are setting the favorites for the tournament. It won’t be a cakewalk. Of course, each two will be waiting in the wings. Pang Young on the par three downhill starting at left starting to move back online. off by centimeters to the outside. Tail of her day is that she still hasn’t been able to improve the score that she set by Day’s end yesterday when she shot a 71. After a 66 in the opening round, you would be fair in assuming that last week’s champion would be able to ride that momentum and once again challenged for a title. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, a sunny Sunday afternoon at 10:07 p.m. local time. And with Chong Yun Gi’s group having finished the ninth, we are very much on the way to knowing who will take the flowers. Yuna Yang here on 13 where she is in the back corner of the green. She is three under today. That’s every golfer’s favorite sound. Picks up another birdie. That is her fifth. She goes into a tie for fifth spot. Jim next to putt for eagle at 11 and she is going to get it there. Tied for seventh now. Two bogeies and two birdies. An even 36 on the way out from T18 all the way up to T7. One big putt. Pman has dropped out of the top 100 in the worlds. She was one of the very best in the peak of her career when every single tournament you thought, “Yep, she’s probably going to win this thing.” Two seasons in a row, remarkably. 2021 2022 she won half a dozen tournaments in each year. Now Chabin best ever finish. Well, it was a win on the Dream Tour. She finished tied for fifth at last year’s height to Ginro Championship. The major lowest I suppose the best finish when you exclude the majors was the 12th KG Ladies Open back in 2023. She finished tied for fourth position. We start the back nine with back-to-back par4s. This 370 meter par4 10th is the first. It’s been a tricky hole. Aim Jin Young is the player who is outside of the top 25 but the first player to birdie here. One of just three in the entire day. Even Higay Young, who is currently tied for third, struggled with the bogey about 15 minutes ago. So off our final group goes to the fairway. All working towards this green oni 18 and a half meters away. Hard snap back to the left. All things considered, that’s a very good putt. Stop rolling. Well past the green. This is the section of the course that is coming in on the front nine. Now he chan too close but no cigar. Second putt gets her there on hole number 10. Now Kimi Hyan. Crazy how close the start times are able to stagger. And now suddenly as Chang’s group vacates the green, Kim Shihan is here to finish her round. Not quite able to do it with a bird. Suni settles for the par 10. Maybe she escapes with the par. It’s a matter of perspective, but nearly 19 meters off the flag after the approach is no guarantee. Let’s stop. Green is clear and it’s a green light for Chungian G. She avoids the sand but also avoids the green. She’s perched up on the fringe. Much better results with shot number two from Pungman Gi. now. Chega being the last to go and she’s also short. And there is a greenside bunker and based on that reaction, I would argue she found it. Chong Yunji’s advantage is three. The group is marching up the hill to the 10th green. This is the final round from the Star Hue Golf and Resort live from the Gyongo region here in Yangyong. Welcome back, Chabin from off the green. Based on the sound of her grounding the club, she’s not in the sand. She’s looking high in the sky, looking to get this up and down in a hurry. a pitch and roll the flag down the hill. Doesn’t carry it enough. Gets trapped, stuck in the rough. So, she’ll have to swap out the clubs, grab a pitching wedge, and take her doover as hole number 10 claims another victim. This is Ched Ree putting for a birdie to 11 under she goes. Just time for fifth position. That is her second pickup of the round. Net second I should should say third birdie. She did have a bogey on two. Sh. I mean this is for the par so all she has to focus on is being close. cannot double here. Get down the hill now. Oh, that’s going to be tricky. So hard to perfectly control the speed, but the argument is always be a little bit past and putt up. First is trying to putt down. Kochi won at 11 trying to avoid a bogey of her own 65. She shot yesterday to be sixth after two rounds. Nice ball. Birded the par 37th, pokeied the par four sixth and stays at even. Putting from the fringe sat above the hole winds its way. And the more we see the putts from this 10th green, the more we understand why there’s only been three birdies today and a couple of boges. How about Chihan Soul also a player to start the round in sixth. She has par the first 10 holes. You can make it 11. She has remarkably throughout the week through 47 holes not bogeied once. That in its own right is quite the impressive accomplishment. Birdie here yesterday for Pungman G albeit with a much different pin placement. It’s 6.9 m. 1 in 10 from this distance have connected this season. What’s going Chain two will just have enough speed on the T-shot to roll it down onto the green here at 12. to the hill. Look out. Borrow the crowns with a big club. Trying to muscle it on the green. And I’d say that’s a tick mark. Che avoids the double, but it is a drop for second in 10 holes. That takes her outside of the top 10. Brilliant shot up and over the ponds. Final par three of the round. The wind’s giving a rather large push. Oh, it’s on and over in two. Well, arguably the most exciting hole before the finale is next for a featured group, though there are still some players that need to putt through and finish hole number nine. Chong Yun Gi just one under for the round, but leading this event by three strokes. We’ll take a break and be back with more in just a few minutes. picking up the action on hole 11. Unsungi shipping it up the hill at 11 and plays it to about 15 cm away, also known as a tap it. So that’s four pars on the bounce. Frani who stays in a time for third position. Eye young who has been in a really good flow able to capitalize on a strong start to 14. And this is EJN2. A long way back. Just had to get it close. Pakyanga was 96 m, but it was also with the wind at her back. Sliding that straight with very little break. It’s the first birdie of the round and it comes just at the right time. Each two for a birdie. Nice buddy. birdie. Very nice birdie indeed. Two once again. That is her fifth birdie of the round. Chyun G. So what makes this interesting today? Number 11. I promised you earlier we’d talk about it. So let’s talk about it. The distance has been reduced by 100 m. Much lower down on the hill to begin the drive. It’s 270 today. And downhill when the wind is just right, play your woods and your hybrids. Well, well, the opportunity for Eagle is certainly present. Ja Ram Eagles here earlier. So did Pacyam Hunga Pacquiao Chugin and those are the Eagles for today. Pangman G went for it all and ends up well left. Everyone’s gallery is okay. But they understand that the players will be sending it. That leaves Jab Bean. She will glance it off the side fringe and roll it back. It’s exactly the type of thing that she needs to throw her hat back in the ring. Reminder, this is a par4. You look up. Good. Yes. Over to 16. Buckyang. She knew exactly what it would do. Just didn’t hit it with enough pace. Mentally taxing and a really tough physical course might be just taking its toll. Yay Young. Look at this run. Five holes, four birdies up into a tie for third position. and two down onto the green with the pin today on the second stage of elevation on the par three. You don’t know. Okay. Awesome. She will cut the water on Sunday on the 12th. Also going to be stymied by the hill. A tricky putt for birdie. Oh, you got We have It’s a good She’s still got 90 minutes to prove that she’s ready to win again. up. There is no pungman G would have been for three. It would have been a birdie. Those don’t count in this port though. slow down. You can see the catty saying that’s okay. Stay there. Chica being unfortunate. Brilliant start, but some of the magic dust floats away. It’s like setup shot up and over the water. She is one of the hottest players on the course. Partying like crazy adds another up to 17 under par. That is three birdies total number seven and she is in complete control of this tournament and two oversees that ball work from right to left is from our vantage point from behind the flank. Nice and gear. So he comes close but can’t get it there. Jabby, there’s the birdie. Chunks off the bogey at number 10. Exasperated reactions to that miss from Eayong. Get him up again. Kind of a muted crowd as Zenungi runs it the rest of the way. really close. Swooping back online at the last moment, but Ei Jung will have to settle for a par. Come on. Come on. He’s wounded. Jung comfortable, confident, and knows she has a few pars in the tank. Right to left breaking putt and the birdie run had to end. Look at that. Thanks D shot on the par three goes right and we’ll roll down the rim of the bowl back towards the front where Chong Yun Gi is. Good job. Now Pangman G and she also comes close but really tricky pin placement today obviously at 12. It’s 165 meter par three. You don’t want to use too much more club than that because you’re risking going off the back and then chipping and then suddenly you could be looking at a situation for four in a hurry. Over to 13 with EJ and two. First of the two par fives on the back nine. Well, it’s a healthy advantage. It’s not insurmountable. Chong Yun Ji has one extra hole on each her closest challenger Yanwa Young at 5 under through 16 on Suni two under through 12. Eyang four under through 15 at 11 under par. And Shayabin in the final group is overpar for this final round. More from the Suyup MBN Ladies Open after a quick break. All right, right back to work on 12. Chein the first to putt for birdie. yet to find one all day long, which is shocking considering how well she had mastered this course Friday and Saturday. Set up for what should be an inevitable birdie, but underscores the struggles she has gone through today. It is right. Coach, she won 32 today. Starts the home stretch and gets herself back in the top 10. Pungman G inching closer but not enough power to get to the up. Hold on. Chan two sending that second shot at five. The second shot on 12th the par three. This is Chong Yun Gi. We’ll set up to a par. Young. Another close call. She’s running out of time. The podium seems faded, but for the sake of the rest of the fields, a miss here or there would go a long way. And there it is. So, a crack in the armor. Chyun Gi had managed to survive since the second hole without a bogey, but she’ll be dropping here. Six holes remain and the lead is much more attainable for each hand to now. Chan two on the green after three will be the uphill putt for a birdie. Oh, nice able to avoid a drop. That is a par on the par three. Unsung the setup shot right to the back and should feel good about the potential for a circle. Jab grabs just enough of the right edge. Downhill punt for coachi. One and 14 is going to go. Welcome to hole 13. 480 m exactly the same distance as 18. Jay Gabin will get us started with a drive over the pond. Two Dream Tour wins, 10 top 10 finishes since turning pro. Putman G. She’s five back, tied for fifth. There will be pressure. It’s the pressure that EJN felt last week. She was looking for her very first pro victory. She couldn’t quite keep pace and threw it away on 18 against Pakyang. It’s two strokes, so it’s no time to panic yet, but this drive looks a little bit right. And you start to wonder if the pressure is starting to seep into the subconsciousness of our leader whose advantage is down to two. Reasons for optimism, she hadn’t pokeied before today and on the back nine she had made at least four birdies on both Friday and Saturday. She already has one. Two more might put this thing out of reach, but that’s why we watch. It’s not done until hole 54 J two. That was her fourth. So shamp will keep her on the heels of the leader. Young second to last hole. Cutting into the wind. Not quite online. Oh, look. This birdie will go. It was a bit of an early celebration, but she had so knew it was going to be there. Four holes left and only five strokes back now to move within three and take sole possession of thirds. That’s misaligned. There you go. Look for Amy Jong either. We see the state of Chong Yun J’s lie in the rough. He’s got the hybrid out looking to rescue this. blasting that back out into the fairway. But no more mistakes are available to her here at 13. of a good drive means the second shot can be straightforward. And it was Just about all the way there. Good on Jacobine for going for it. She’s a power hitter. There’s no two ways about it. It’s an absolutely remarkable facility here in Yang Pyongun. This little piece of mountainside paradise. Up front of the green at 18. That’s the traditional par five to end this course. After 13, it’s the last part three. Three par4s back to back to back. Oh, then where the money is made. Achan two artfully delivered. A birdie is a definite possibility. Chung Zoe on eight iron. Can she make it two birdies in a row? Say never. with shot number three and even clears the fringe nestled in the border of the rough on the par five. Let’s go to 17. Young’s found herself in some trouble in the sand after two and unable to get onto the green. It’s trapped by the rough right there on an absolute rope. A frozen rope if you would. Direct line to the pin. Pungman G nonser head in approval. Nice putts EA1 for birdie her to two under for the day as she closes in on another top 10 finish. all the way there. long overdue. Couple backto back early in the round and now that she’s in the home stretch, she adds another. Chung Yunji up on the green at hole number 13. Her advantage is just two with each ha on her heels. Yun Huaya Young just might run out of holes, but a third round to celebrate. Nevertheless, Spongman G should birdie. That should bring her to an underpar score for the third round. More from the Star Hue Golf and Resorts after a quick break as we enjoy the sunshine on Championship Sunday. Got you. Picking up our final round coverage on the first par five of the back nine. Only six holes to determine a champion unless we need bonus golf. That is still a distinct possibility. Unsung just off the green. A little pitch and roll. was in quite a line, but the touch was sublime. She’ll have an easy par. Softly struck by Chung Yun Gi. Oh, drive into the rough back into the fairway for two. Down to the opposite side of the green for three. That was four. And now she has a putt for par and 2 will roll it all the way in. She is bringing this tournament to Chong Yun Gi. the heartbreak from last week. She’s used it as fuel. Still has to see it over the line, of course. But if Chong Yuni misses this, it’s all square with a handful of holes to go. She wouldn’t have known the results. She just has to take care of her own business. and under pressure that she didn’t even know existed. She avoids disaster. Pardon me. On 18. It started off on a torid pace, an unsustainable one in retrospect, an even par 72 after only shooting one under yesterday. She needs to find a way to take all the confidence that is understandably coursing through her veins and stay laser focused. And it’s a different animal when you’re not the one expected to win. Pressure is off, but the way she’s playing is back into familiar territory from a week ago. Yun Wang. Well, it’s emblematic of what has been a remarkable day for her. Found her game in the final round and has been soaring up the ladder. Now Jian Soul for Birdie. After all her pars, she has shifted into top gear and is racking them up left and right. Tied for third now. She’s going to go down as one of the all-time greats of this tour. Not the titles that shine and sparkle like Pungman G’s, but her consistency is unlike most we’ve seen in what feels like a generation. This touches well for Amy Jung. Unsung at 15. The nine iron. The approach is perfect. player. Hungman Gi gets us underway at 14. Oh, was that a splash? Came out of nowhere. No drama for G, but it is a little bit longer than she would have wanted it to be. Okay. Okay. Really good attacking approach shots on 15. Chenzu is bruising. Great shots in the group as well. Amy Jung to finish the tournament at 11 under par. Broke the wrong way. Let’s go. Young. Yuna Young third place. Was a bit quiet on the way out, but she storms in with a 31. Absolutely. Brilliant play. It wasn’t a splash. If there was any splash, it was the sand. Grains of sand are better than water droplets. G catches it too early. forces up the shot, but gets no further than the fridge. An understandable shriek of joy. Young puts it to within centimeters of a dunk and an eagle. Heat. Heat. Bung G now a putt to save a par. Too much speed. Wanted the flag in to use it as a back stop. fractionally off and it will cost her a stroke. Well, it is a brilliant way to end the day for a guy. 667168. She finishes an 11 under after 54 holes. It died. lead gen two for a share of the lead. She’s up to 16 under. Co-leader all of a sudden seven birdies now on the day. She is six under still with a few holes to play. Can’t help but think back to last week. What would have happened if her second shot on the par five 18th was in the fairway? Would we have needed a playoff? Would Ayang been a little bit unsettled by the pressure? It’s anyone’s guess the past is history. Chenu is right here and very much in the fight. And now Chung Yun G has some company at the top. Can snatch the lead right back. But it looks slow. It is just not going to be enough. Nice. Good. Bill Disappointing one for Bugman G. The sand stuck in the rough past the pin and tap in bogey. and two has three holes to go. He’s at 16 under. And the drama and excitement of this final hour has reached new heights. The way we’re going, it’s not Too hard to dream of a new course record or tournament record, pardon me, for a three-hole event. It’s currently held by Pakang Hyan. Shot a 17 under back in 2016. Purse was half as big as it was now in just 9 years. the continued interest and investment in this tour. The four round tournament record is held by Kim Hanai who shot a 23 under. She went 68 68 66 and a 63. Now we weren’t playing at the Star Hugh back then. Doesn’t make it that much less impressive. We came here in 2024, switching over from Mov. The tournament had been held for at least half a decade, if not longer. Starhu did play host in 2019 and Bungman Gi won this tournament for the first time. There’s only that fewear departure. The first tournament back in 2013 was held at scores back when it was known as Young Pyong TPC. She’s in a stretch of holes that she has been very strong in. So very popular region for this sport up in the mountains. Blue heron not too far away. G starting to show some signs of fragility as she struggles with the T-shot once more. See the T box for hole number nine and the clubhouse that we will loop around on the way in through 16, 17, and 18. The approach shot reaches deep on the green. However, I didn’t do anything. Oh, I think two also deep on 16. This is going to be fun, isn’t it? Yinwa Young deserves some flowers. The 25-year-old or the 2000 born athlete. One of the best finishes of her career. the Indonesia Women’s Open back in 2025. Well, that was earlier this year. She finished fourth, but nothing quite like this on the KPGA. T25 had been the best, but she was marvelous today and deserves her time in the spotlight. Chiian Soul with three holes to play. Same with Chennry. There are four offs, so never say never, but right now it very much feels like a two-player race between Chanu and Chong Yun Gi. approach time for Chong Yun Gi at 15. The first of this run of par fours in a really good up. Magenta left to right. Crosswind Breeze. She still has duration in her favor. More holes, more chances to birdie. Well, a putt like this could make I unbelieve. It’s going to break right to left. She’s putting into the wind. She’s putting downhill. Although the fact that she didn’t ask for that ball marker to be moved might lead one to believe that she thought even for her it might be a bit too much to bite off. And at 18, the best approach of the lots, saving the best for last. She had been the closest to the pin after all, being one in a good little run of form in the final few holes. Well, it was a lengthy punt after misadventures. She’s still not out of the woods yet. Alen Suni at 16 with a sliver of a chance. It’s a very good putt even though it won’t show up on the scorecard. It’s well over half a round in a row where she has par every hole. Cheabin the next to go on 15. It’s 11.7 m out. She comes remarkably close as well. The par is guaranteed. back to Chen two. So the pressure mounts as this is a punt to save a par is dialed in and laser focused. Two holes to go. She’s enjoying herself right now. You can tell that’s a much different outlook than last week. Embrace the pressure. Don’t fear it. It’s easier said than done, of course. Chun can take the advantage back. starts to move right and that’s a lost cause. Surprising snap. It will be a par. That’s a push at 15. EA1 with a brilliant end to her round and to this tournament. 66 70 and 69. He’s T7 for now. Strong showing. She’s starting to show glimpses of a shaky first round. yesterday. She was one of the very best in the entire fields. But it’s a bit of a sputtering run in comes in the bogey. day on an unfortunate end to an otherwise pretty solid day. This is for a double 72 an even par score. High contrast to yesterday when she shot a 64. She finishes at seven under. 64 is tied with Chabin and Chong Yun Gi for the best score of the week. But for Edian, it ends up being a bit unsustainable. 365 m 399 yds this par4 16th Chunji is away well Welcome back to the Star Qan with a rare misstep. She fails to find the green on 17. She’s over into the row. She just avoids the flowers and the water. Chan Yuni can breathe a sigh of relief. Uh-huh. Hong Jung mean. We haven’t seen her yet today, which typically isn’t the best of signs on Sunday. She’s only in one under. Start of the day tied for third. Yesterday was remarkable. 66. Attention back to each and two. Third shot on the penultimate hole. Pitched up, glanced in the rough again and not the fringe. So now it’ll be a chip or a putt to save a par. It looks like it’s the ladder. And Jung Yun Xi gets it awfully close to a chip in birdie. She might momentarily retake the lead with just a par to her name. We get most of the way there, but we’ll still require one more putt. And now back to 16. Cha bean for birdie. She too is putting into the wind. This is a very similar putt to chance. Left it short. unsung for a birdie. Looks a little left and a little slow. Next to try from a similar position is Pong Nan Gi. She won’t be lacking for speed. She splits Chong Yun J’s ball marker and the flag. Let’s move. Two backto back pars. Good recovery to avoid the nightmare situation. and she was smiling when she missed the pitch and saying, “Okay, that’s mental reinforcement that this isn’t too much for her.” And now she’s earned this smile. Relief and excitement and not being in the feature group might be the ticket. Jab bean misses out on her putt for par. This will go all the way. Jung mean with the finish. Just outside of the top 10, but ends with a birdie. Five of them on the day, but a smattering of bogeies as well. J Re for a par. 6967 and now a 72 in the final rounds. It’s down to three groups. Kochi one, Chiian Soul and Shauri out there on the 18th. And DJ and Su most important shot maybe of her career thus far. Things end up the way they could. Not to mention 220 million1 at least in the span of a week is not too shabby for the bank account either. Birdie birdie so far it’s a par five on the way in. It’s meant to be scored well. No guarantee. They have been a bit hard to come by. Five, six, seven, eight, nine by my counts. That’s from the groups that teed off on hole number one. He brought in an additional dozen or so for 21 birdies out of 66. So, one in every three. Jay is away now. on something. Hungman J on 17 will trickle back into the fairway. Oh, I don’t know. Hello. Jan Souls approach less than half a swing. Just a good setup. Birdie would take her into a share of third. It would also secure an improbable 54 hole span. And you couldn’t say it wasn’t deserved. Everything comes down to 17 and 18 and everything remains up in the air. It’s the stuff of dreams for a final round Sunday and we’re being treated to quite the show. The SUP MBN Ladies Open. Jung and with the rare for the hole but unfortunately common miss late in the round on the driver. This is not unfortunate in the slightest. She does go to the wrong corner of the green but rolls back down towards the middle. Now that is the putt for birdie and we will put that in the extremely unlikely column. Chan 2 second. She’s still 251 out. Taking a tight line over the left side of the fairway. Glancing off the rough and back in to the first cut. struck with pace. This group is no slouch either. Chenny Coochi one all nearing the end. Ansungi from middle of the fairway. Second shot ends up in the rough. One of these things where you see them triumphantly struting across the course and you forget just how much of a workout it is to navigate these mountainous courses, ups and downs and all of it. Jan Soul, not at the peak of her powers, but still one of the top 100 players in the world. And she put on a master class. 54 holes without a bogey. And she racks up a ton of birdies on the way in. She is a fourtime winner. And here’s a stat that shouldn’t surprise you if you’ve watched her for any amount of time. 41 top 10 finishes in her career, 18th podium for Jan Soul. What a performance. Not quite as happy with her performance on Sunday as coaching one her highest score of the week. still finishes inside of the top 10. Chenner is just off the podium places. If she holds this T5 669 60 69, pardon me, the story of her three round output. JM2 just needs to block out the noise. Focus on herself. One shot then another. She knows she is likely guaranteed at least the playoff. Hardest thing to do. It’s a game of repetition with subtle changes. You can never account for what it means when it’s all on the line. closest to the pin and it’s not particularly close and with one of the best setups of the back nine. Hello. Hungmanji from the fringe on the opposite side of the green almost traverses the entire width. This is the Chong Yun G. It’s officially 15 m between she and a birdie. If it’s there, it’s a sensational and b might just give her the win. It’s excruciatingly close. What do they say? Horseshoes and hand grenades. It’s the only time close matters. AJ and two for the outright leads, but she can’t muster up one last birdie. So all she can do is wait and watch like the rest of us. A 66 in the final round with just one bogey to her name. Seven birdies. The consistency pretty remarkable. 6767 and the best for last on Sunday. Now Pangman G for a par. struck firmly but struck online. The look on her face is pride. And it should be Suni the drought is over. She says 13 under 66 68 69. A brilliant showing for her. Welld deserved top three finish. It’s a must make for Chong Yun Gi. There isn’t a universe where I envision her missing. Okay. All right. 53 holes down. She heads to 18. Still in her control. She’s birdie at the par five. Every day so far. H2. She has already finished runner up twice. the 2022 Mediheel Hang Google Boat Championship last week. Of course, she’s guaranteed at least that, if not more. She’ll go sign that scorecards and watch knowing she’s done everything she can. Hello, middle. You don’t want a One shot at a time as the thirdyear pro tries to do something she has only done once. These moments, these next 10 to 15 minutes are why we love this sport. Personal triumph, adversity, resilience, all of it. Not to mention incredible athleticism, skill, and voice. And who better to witness it all than Pungman Gi. She’d also be the first to run over and congratulate her. Always been a brilliant stewardist of the sport. She’s always understood her platform and her standing. shot. Last T-shot is Chega Beans. And this par five is officially underway. Everything to play for. Thrilling conclusion to what has been a sensational event. Everywhere you look, you’re aruck. And that includes the sport itself. We’ll let the gravity of the moment sink in with no expectations. We don’t have the pressure unless you are of course a tried andrue Chong Yun J or Chanu fan. But for the neutral, for the lover of this sport, of this tour, we’re in for a fantastic conclusion. Awesome. Well, it’s all to play for second chance. Hungman Gi’s first. A little twirl of the club and not in celebration. Gripped. She ripped and ends up at the end of this particular fairway. Special site on Sunday as always supporters of the tour. A growing gallery. Everyone at the Star Hue couldn’t possibly cast their attention elsewhere. Think about the Similarities to last year to last week, pardon me, only seven days ago. H&2 second shot is what was her undoing. 235 smooth and simple swing. One stroke at a time. Chein 233. three. She going to try to go for this again. Yes, she will. And she ends up on the green, but only just rolls back into the rough. She had little to lose. Went forward to make it a little extra spicy. Remarkable to think it’s almost 3 years to the day. Chong Yunji won her first and only event. Head down. Stay focused. Butterflies and somersaults in her stomach. The nerves are all a part of it. This is another reason it’s extra special. She can’t get ahead of herself. Just as know she needs to stay mentally and physically ready. Part means there’s a playoff of bogey means she wins. She watched as she look away. It’s crazy to think the parallels, so many things to compare, so many things to contrast. Exactly seven days ago, it was a gut punch, a sinking feeling. She’s not in the final group this week. And maybe that’s the difference. At least for your first every tournament, every round practice, competitive charity, prom, it’s the same, but it’s different. He’s been here before. Just needs to be close. We’ve seen it. For the sake of crossing all of our tees and dotting all of our eyes, the pin is 11 yds from the left fringe and 10 yards from the back. A pivotal shot in this tournament. Chong Yun G’s approach. Little bit extra back spin. She has put well exhale a little bit. She’s nervous. She’s not showing us. Pugman G nine under her setup. So, everyone’s on Shadine has been waiting patiently. A timehonored tradition. As our final group makes it to the green, they will be announced. And then we’ll see if 54 holes will be enough. I suppose check’s not technically on the green, so the announcements will come in a moment. She plays her third and is closest to the stand in the group. Fore speech. Well, she’s the furthest from the pin, so she has to putt first. And she can win it all. Chong Yun Gi for the title. Here it comes. She’s done it. The champion of the Syria MBN Ladies Open is Chong Yun Gi. Has she even processed it yet? Look at what it means. Wireto-wire winner and no one deserves it more. The definition of glorious. Oh, she has wanted this for so long. has come so close on so many occasions. You are a champion again, Jung Yun. Kung Mi had to be inspired. How could you not be? Top 10 finish 10 under despite being over on the round of 73 at the end. And now she heads into the Selry and Queens Masters to defend her title. Special moment, two fierce competitors, but few understand better than Pungman what this takes. There’s something about the pump in pageantry of the Tampa to win it. That’s different. That’s special. Take a bean to make it a perfect trifecta of birdies. Perfect. 72 even par. She finishes tied for seventh. Shabin. And here come the waterworks both from her peers and six times in her career she’s had to endure finishing just short her second podium of the season in each two with grace and humility two weeks in a row the runner up the way she’s playing the golf she’s playing. Who’s to say next week won’t be her crowning moment? But there can only be one winner. And from 120 this week, it’s Chung Yun Gi. A putt she will never in her life forget. Three times since her last win. Did she finish P2? three additional times on the podium. Nothing compares. And here’s EJN2’s reaction from behind the green. She knew it had a chance. Incredible sportsmanship from a blossoming star, but it’s just not her time. Just like last week was in her time. There’s always a plan. She’ll have her moment, but it won’t be at the 2025 Suya MBN Ladies Open. And it’s a little bit out of nowhere. Mentioned it earlier in the week. She had a brilliant Stokshin APC championship tuneup for the first major of the year and she didn’t quite bottom out but finished just and only just inside the top 50. Following week, the NH Investment Securities Ladies Championship T19 T17 at the match play T17 last week, but it was that perfect combination. Everything seemed to click for her this week. She finishes with 19 birdies over 54 holes. Two bogeies today, too. That made it interesting. and will remember she started the back nine strong. She was only one under par the incredibly tough 10th. Got the bird at 11 but then immediately lost it at 12 and then it was five pars in a row before birding at the perfect time. One of the best putts of her career. Yeah, she just needs to get the water out of her ear so she can hear her name shouted by the supporters and the questions that SPS Golf and our counterparts on the Korean side of the broadcast will ask her in just a few moments. These are not the formalities are done. It’s official now. We’ll hear from our champion. We will revisit the Sunday highlights and then the red carpet ceremony will begin as it’s just all starting to sink in. Changing Gi is our champion. It’s a one stroke advantage. Ech and two for the second week in a row. Comes that close, but her patience will be tested. Yunay Young is 66 as well. The two best scorers of the day. Chihan Soul with a 68. A great back nine to finish tied for third and Suni is 69. Chenner outright sixth 69. EA1 a 69 to finish tied for seventh with Chein who shoots a 72 in the final round. She would have needed a 66 as well to be in competing for the title. And with that, we’ll take one of our final breaks. When we come back very, very soon, we’ll tie a bow on what has been a fantastic week in Gangido. there. Oh, there Oh, I think there Oh, There. Oh. foreign. Oh, ships. there. There. Don’t worry. Oh, for to keep forchech. They come from need. Well, an emotional return to the champions chair, Chong Yun Xi, almost three years to the date. Finally, finally is back. And you cannot say for one moment that I was not worthy of the venue, the occasion, or thoroughly welld deserved. A brilliant final round to race to the finish line and it took the final shot of 199 for Chong Yun J to do it. The awards presentation is coming up next. But before we get there, a look back to the day that was Chanu started the round in the penultimate group. She was five shots back of the lead and wasted absolutely no time going to work. A very rare birdie on hole number one, at least for those in the top 15. It caught some people by surprise like Pungman G who started with a bogey. Now, fortunately, she’d be able to write the ship from there, but she was in a great position when the day began to be one of the challengers. This from Chung Yun Ji on hole number two. I mentioned it was a rocky start for her and we weren’t trying to be hyperbolic. She missed her putt for par and would bogey and she’d have to be patient. While all that was happening, Han 2 was racing towards the top spot. this the approach on number five after already carding two birdies put it within a meter and would tap in to make it just a onestroke deficit on seven. Well, it would finally happen for Chong Yun Ji to get the monkey off her back right from the goose egg. And look, she’s always been a very physically emotional player. You never don’t know what she’s thinking. She showed you several fist bumps as she finally got that first one to go, restoring a little bit of an advantage. Now he choosi hole number eight, but bounced back with the birdie at nine. Hit the turn with a 33. And she wasn’t the only one to master this par four. Unbelievable approach from Jun Yuni. a birdie to see the number 16 beside her name at the midway mark. A three-stroke advantage. That is plenty to work with. She would go out with a 35. We’ll go to 12 next. She was up to 17 with a birdie at 11, but she’d lose it on the par three. She putted really well. I mean, we just saw it about 10 minutes ago how great she puted this week, but a bit of a rare one as she would drop the stroke on number 12. And so would begin an arduous march to the finish line. EJ and two, no such troubles. Birdies at 11,14 and 15. This was a big save on the 13th to avoid going back to back, stabilizing, getting the emotions back in check. As mentioned on 15, each and two would move into a tie for the top spot. 103 m out on the par4. And look how close she gets. This rockus ovation from those lucky enough to bear witness. And then a slight right to left breaking putts to go to 16 under. Now that’s the score she would sustain to the end. Par par on the way in. And at times she had to work for it, including this on the very next hole. Uphill putt. Once again, her her rating of the greens was absolutely sublime today. 17 where we’ll go next. And this was another big moment. She holes out from off the green. One hole ahead of Chung Yun Gi. She just wouldn’t have enough in the tank. Using up all of her magic running. That would have been for a 32 and a 65 in. and for the round. So, she had to watch and it wasn’t the best approach. Let’s not mince words and G shattering the decibel meter and the birdie to win it all. She was the first in the group. She was away after the approaches and saved the very best for last. And now she can soak it all in. The winner of the Shuya Bank MBN Ladies Open by one stroke down to the 18th green for the awards presentation. foreign. Okay. always. Yes. Then last All right. everything. Okay. Wow. Okay. crazy. Well, Chung Yun Ji has waited three long years for this moment to return to the winner circle. And I suppose she only knows how to do things the hard way. I remember vividly her first ever win. And if you were with us, and I’m sure some of you were, it was a fivehole playoff it took for her to beat Chian Soul and NO. It was played at the South Springs, another 54hole event, the 10th E1 Charity Open. It got to the point where they needed to cut a new hole for her and the rest of the playoff contenders, of which there were three until the bitter end. No playoff today, but it did come down to the final shot. And it was quite the memorable shot and that might be underelling it slightly. 54 holes of fantastic play. Pakyang of course came in after her win last week and was one of the favorites before a ball was struck and certainly after 18 holes were played. But it ends up being Chong Yun Gi with a wireto-wire victory leading from the end of day one straight through to the end. And of course your heart goes out to each who has to finish P2 for the second week in a row but playing some consistent golf. Some extraordinary golf, but it wasn’t her time. The time, the spotlight, all belonged to Chong Yun Ji and it is a victory we will remember for quite some time. That brings our three round competition to a close. We are right back at it next week from Sun Munan. The 2025 Seltrion Queens Masters Pungman GI the defending champion 120 players in the field 1.2 billion one in the purse. The tuneup for the 39th Korea Women’s Open Golf Championship. But for now, it’s the end of the road at the Star Hugh Golf and Resort as Chong Yun Ji wins the Suya Bank MBN Ladies Open.
