seems to have got good favor with Liverpool fans mainly because of Jurgen Klopp. Obviously Jurgen Klopp decided to make that impassioned speech to Liverpool fans. What did you make of Klopp’s speech before we hear it? What did you make of it? Well, he had to say I I think it was a little bit rich from Jurgen Klopp. What I’m about to say here doesn’t change the fact that I totally respect his place in Liverpool’s folklore. He is a Liverpool legend, but it doesn’t mean that you have to agree with him on every single issue. And I think that he has effectively told Liverpool fans how to feel and how to behave. I thought he was a bit rich. Yeah. Yeah. No, I completely agree with you as well. Let’s hear uh said speech. This is what Jurgen Klopp had to say. A Liverpool FC Foundation event. The former boss was reacting to the Trent uh booze. what happened in the game uh when Frank came on at halftime and I watched the game when he came on and I heard I heard the booing and I I I said I’m old so it might be my hearing and I thought I made I switched on the volume that’s booing. I needed another 10 seconds to realize I switched the telly off because I I I I honestly I couldn’t have been more disappointed in this moment. This is not us. 100% not. Be angry. Don’t understand it. Whatever. This boy, this boy gave and I was there. I was there every day. If he wouldn’t have given everything, I would tell you now. But every day he gave absolutely everything for this batch. And now he decided after 20 years in his club that he wants to go somewhere else. If somebody should be angry about that, it’s the owners. But they are not interesting. Um obviously that’s when he came off the bench against Arsenal. Um I don’t I still don’t think Jurgen club who obviously I have so much respect for um the best Liverpool manager in my lifetime. Right. I still don’t think he understands that Trent Alexander Arnold for what it’s worth orchestrated a move at the club. And that’s why Liverpool fans are angry and upset. It is what it is now. Look, it’s water under the bridge. But that’s where the booming came from. Not because we understand that he gave service for 20 years. We get that. We understand that and how good he was. But it’s to orchestrate a move at the club. Also, simply because you occupied the office of Liverpool manager doesn’t mean that as well. Yeah. I mean, just just because you occupy the office of Liverpool manager doesn’t mean that you get to tell Liverpool fans how to think and how to feel about the situation. Liverpool fans gave nothing but unilateral partisan aggressive support to Trent Alexander Arnold. They loved him. They defended him. They expected him to be their next captain. They wanted him to be the one club man. They believed him when he told them that he was just a normal lad from Liverpool who dreamed of being the Liverpool captain. That’s what he told them and it and because of that they loved him. But when you love someone that much, and this is applicable to to footballers throughout history, when you love them that much, when they betray you, when they leave, when they force their way out of the club, and if you look at the way that Trent Alexander Arnold forced his way out the club, an amazing footballer, Liverpool, the club that he loves, barely got a penny for him. And they’re only getting money now because of the Club World Cup. Yeah, they got nothing. Even Cristiano Ronaldo, when he left Manchester United, signed a contract to make sure that Manchester United got paid. Yeah, Alexis Mallister did it for against Brighton. Exactly. You signed a contract. So, I think that Liverpool fans are the reason that you can tell that they were so animated, the reason why they booed was because they love so much. The reason why Fernando Torres got booed was because they loved him so much. The reason why Mason Mount got booed is because we loved him so much. You know, some players leave and you don’t boo them because when Higuain left, we’re not going to boo if he ever came back because we don’t care. I agree. Don’t care. You know, we loved and Trent Alexander Arnold was loved and if you if you think about it, the reason why he has left, it’s only for his own furtherance. It isn’t for the benefit of anything other than money. You know this thing about you don’t say no to Real Madrid. Liverpool are an amazing football club. Liverpool are a a great club. They exist in the pantheon of great. They are up there with the very best. And crucially, this is the difference now between say when Steve McManaman left Liverpool and when Trent Alexander Arnold has left Liverpool. When Steve McManaman left, you had to leave to win silverware. Top tier silverware. You weren’t going to win a European Cup then. Now he’s leaving the team that are champions. Well, he’s leaving the team that are champions to go to a team that aren’t champions. It’s not a footballing decision. It’s a brand decision, a financial decision, a friendship decision with Jude Bellingham. It’s it’s it’s a many things, but it cannot be looked through the lens of football. All right, that being said, and and look, I think many people listening uh will agree with everything you’ve just said. Everybody disagrees. It’s weird. I think No, I think there’s a few people have really got Liverpool fans back about this. I think the vast majority would agree with what you say. Do you know, I saw a tweet that I reckon sums it up. I think we I think we’re when you say people disagree, I think we’re taking social media as somehow a large percentage of the public. I just can’t believe I just can’t believe the front of people telling Liverpool fans who sit in the cop how they should feel and I and I extend that courtesy to Klopp. I think that Klo has some front to tell season ticket holders in the COP. Some of them who have been going there for half a century. Yeah. And he’s saying this is how you should feel about situation. I don’t know how to feel about the situation. But I concede that I’m not a scouter. I’m not a Liverpool fan. I don’t know. But do you know who I defer to in this situation? The cop. And the cop booed. And I’m And I would never have the front to say the cop got it wrong. Yeah. Um he’s now obviously um ended his contract early or at least Real Madrid have bought him out of that contract and Liverpool are going to get 10 million uh for Trent Alexander Arnold which I guess considering he’s going to walk away in a couple of weeks for free better than it’s out of order though. It’s changed down the back of the sofa that kind of money in football now for a player that quality. Trent Alexander Arnold is worth what on the market? 100 million. I I would say less than that but a lot of money. 100 million cuz he’s not your traditional defender is he? Your defenders don’t really go for much. 100 100 sounds like a lot. AD, but you know, I’m not going to argue over the millions. 26. I’m not going to argue with the millions. I even even if we go on a really conservative estimate, right, let’s just go let’s just go 60. Yeah. You know, Mason Mount with a 60. Let’s go 60 million. In the era of PSR, that is so important. And he could have easily everybody could have still won. By the way, Real Madrid would have got an excellent footballer. Trent Alexander Randall would have got his move and Liverpool would have got 45 million quid. Everybody could have still won, but they didn’t. And the only winner in the situation really is Trent Alexander Arnold. And the only loser is Liverpool. This text has just come in from David Morham. As a Liverpool fan of 50 years, I agree with Klopp. And Liverpool fans don’t boo their own players. I understand their strong feelings around Trent Leven, but Liverpool fans have usually got more class than that. My feeling is that the booze came from a minority who didn’t turn up for the Crystal Palace match. I certainly wasn’t a minority cuz you could hear the booze. I mean, those boos were as loud as I saw. Great tweet which I think sums it up perfectly from David Mor. The the tweet said the cop booed and the main stand clapped. Now if you think about how football stadiums are broken down these days, the main stand is going to core really is the cop and the main stand. And you know if you want to know something about if you want to know something about any football club, if you want to know how Liverpool fans feel, go to the cop. If you want to know how Man United feel fans feel, go to the stret. If you want to know how Man City fans feel, the equivalent of the kipax. Well, what’s the equivalent of that villa? The whole end. The whole end. This is where this tweet comes from. Perry and Holway says the Hulk still booed Jack because we admired and adored him. Perry the Villa fan. That is true, isn’t it? Exactly. And this is something and by the way, they got 100 million for Jack. Exactly. But this is something that we’ve done for years. Like I don’t understand why we got so precious about like I I I was taught really before my time. But I I I was taught to to make sure that I had a had nothing but disgust for Gordon Jury. Gordon Jury was seen as a Judas. I was bought up to know that this geyser called Gordon Jury was a massive Judas. And I would extend that to Gus Davo Pouyet. I would extend that to Mason Mount. If you turn your back on a club, especially when you’re loved, you will get booed. And I don’t know when as a society we became so precious about this # class. How do you think he does at Real Madrid? Not as well as everybody else. Not if if Real Madrid somehow think that they’re going to solve their defensive frailties by signing. That’s not what they bought him for, though, is it? Don’t I think I don’t know if he’s we know him very well and I don’t know if the continent know quite how pronounced his defensive inability is. Agreed. He he is if we’re totally honest. You think about the wingers in Spanish football. Terrible. I mean they they and by the way they go at you also. They don’t they don’t cut in like our wingers. They go think about the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris. The only player in the world the only man in the world who didn’t know where Venicious Junior was was Trent Alexander Arnold whose responsibility it was was to mark him. Liverpool lost that cup final because Trent Alexander Arnold lost his man. And by the way, as well, the Spanish press, I mean, we think the press over here can be Well, Real Madrid fans Real Madrid, if he thinks this was bad, they’ll have their white hankies out. What’s the their newspaper? The marker that literally absolutely goes to your head if you play bad. Yeah, but look, he there is no doubt that he’s wonderful. He’s a fantastic. There is no doubt he’s a wonderful footballer and there is a chance that this is going to work out for him. But ultimately, what he’s turned his back on is is total and utter legacy. He an iconic status at Liverpool. He’s turned his back on all that to become a very rich forgotten Galactica brand. All right, Brand Trent Alexander. What do you make of it? 03717234. Desperate to hear from Liver Liverpool fans are on this one. Obviously, look, you got 10 million quid for him. But regardless of what Jurgen Klopp said, regardless of the the Trent tears on the bus, what do you make of the whole move? still upset, still gutted, or have you forgiven him and you wish him good luck at Los Blanos on AM on DAB, via the Talk Sport app, and on your smart speaker. 1. I admit that after watching Jurgen I softened significantly on Trent but watching him at trophy celebrations and in the parade he started annoying me again. Literally put himself front and centre of everything! Have a bit of humility ffs, he was bloody glued to the trophy at anfield!!

  2. What a load of dribble. Why can’t you just understand he wanted a change? It’s really not that difficult is it. He fancies something new, not just football – lifestyle too. Mental how people don’t understand.

  3. Rory Jennings talks more sense than a lot of Liverpool fans . Totally correct klopp should keep out of it . Pathetic the way they then cheered the rat the following day

  4. Trent got his respectful farewell and was shown gratitude in front of the Kop on the final day.

Trent got shown the fans dissatisfaction at how he handled everything.

    Both things are valid.
Why are these 2 separate issues conflated into 1 thing?

  5. Jurgen was 100% correct.
The booing was classless and immature.

But also, Trents fake tears were nauseating too.

    Signed – a Liverpool fan

  6. Supporters pay through the nose for tickets and merchandise. Players.. agents .. managers live in their rich bubbles and are generally clueless about ordinary people that have to graft for their much smaller salaries often in jobs they don't like just to get by. Yeah.. supporters can boo

  7. I think Rory is a man we all have to massively respect, i mean the fact that he managed to get a job on talksport talking about football when he knows nothing about it is truly remarkable.

  8. I don’t think people would have booed on the second occasion even if Klopp didn’t make that speech

  9. I have great respect for Klopp, but it’s unfair to suggest that Liverpool fans have no right to feel upset. We are the heartbeat of the club, we stand by our own, we fill the stadiums, we pay for the tickets, and we carry the spirit of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” with every breath. Our unwavering support has helped shape Liverpool into what it is today.

But just as we love deeply, we also feel deeply when we’re hurt. This isn’t just about leaving, it’s about how it was done. It feels like a betrayal from someone we trusted and held dearly. There are more honorable ways to part ways, and the manner in which he left was, to many of us, deeply disappointing and disrespectful. That’s not something we can easily overlook.

  10. Liverpool fans think their club is a death cult and Trent must stay forever.
The share f*cking hubris and believing that a player who they paid nothing for spent 20 of his 26yrs for the club, won 2 league titles, UCL title and more…. Yet they're upset because he's leaving?
    A pack of entitled hypocrites

  12. These Muppets still going on about a game that happened 3 weeks ago and since then Trent got a great send off and Liverpool got a great replacement and a surprise double figure transfer fee

  13. He’ll do well at Madrid until he plays Barcelona and he’ll get washed but Madrid get washed by Barcelona all the time so that won’t matter.

  14. “It cannot be looked at through the lens of football” is a wild take. I know Rory (and the general audience he’s speaking to) tends to be very Anglo-centric, especially in its view of football, but RM is a bigger club that has won more (outside of this year) both recently and in general. It’s Rory, though, so this is a deeply unsurprising take.

  15. As a liverpool fan I agree he will struggle if he puts in as little effort as he did at liverpool in the last couple of seasons….lazy player.

  16. Why do so many commentators accuse Klopp of trying to tell people what to do and think? Klopp literally said in this speech that he didn't want to tell the fans what to do or how to feel about this issue. He was simply expressing his disappointment with the fans' reaction and his opinion that the fans were wrong in this case. Many people would do better to listen carefully before making public judgments.

  17. And yet they are not Real Madrid. No matter how long of a prose or superficial vocabulary these clowns use Real Madrid is the pinnacle of world football. Its a simple agonising fact for the fans of liverpool

  18. Now watch Trent become on of the ebay defenders in RM history because you can guarantee whatever Jennings says the opposite will happen

  19. Rory the helmet,Trent ain’t worth 100 million he’s the most overrated footballer,Rory can’t understand why Trent would wanna go to Real Madrid 😂idiot it’s Real Madrid, the biggest club in the world

  20. What annoys me is Trent's unawareness to the harm to his legacy and disconnection to the fans. You would think he would be more perceptive or he just doesn't care, which makes it worse.

  21. Here we go. Again. Arnold was fine at Liverpool, and Liverpool did very well with him. Now he leaves and he is a poor defender.

  22. Rory Jennings show is the only Talksport show that I do not regularly watch. He makes up his own facts. I thought I would watch this one to give him another chance. Now I regret it.

  23. According to this guy Trent is loved by Liverpool because he’s a wonderful footballer but he’s gonna be terrible at Madrid because Madrid doesn’t know he can’t defend 🤔

  24. Klopp has always been a company man, to be fair. He thinks the owners are the only ones that have a right to be angry? Talk about being out of touch. I remember when the Super League stuff came out, and Klopp couldn't say how pathetic the whole attempt was.

  25. Its a little disgusting to see someone being empowered to share opinions about a footballer's true intentions, or ability… without really having played the game, or studied tactics, or having inside knowledge of the locker room. Might as well be airing tabloid nonsense.

Everyone has the right to an opinion, but maybe keep opinions on overall ability/intent to oneself… the haaland prediction alone should be disqualifying to take someone seriously.

  26. You think liverpool fans booing you because your leaving on free is bad, wait till you get a load of Madrid fans booing you if you have a game like Trent did against Utd early in the season. 😂.

  27. Klopp “this is not us” … but, it literally is exactly how every liverpool fan acts… matter of fact thats how most fanbases act lol

  28. I disagree with booing a player wearing our shirt(except diouf) but i dont have a problem with it.Just wait until Madrid come back to Anfield.Trent might just pick up a mysterious injury
