Ladies and gentlemen, we are live from the Star Hugh Golf and Resort for the second round of the Suyup MBN Ladies Open. It is great to have you along for moving day holes 19 through 36 and a 54hole stroke play competition to be awarded 180 million1. Another billion one purse up for grabs this week as we head out onto the course on a day where the weather is just as nice as we were at yesterday. It is currently 27°. Some cloudy skies which are actually probably doing the field a favor by keeping the sun off their backs. What a way to begin with an incredible touch from just off the green. We have a very busy front half of the leaderboard. Pungman Gi, Chabin and Chong Yun Ji all tied. Chong Yun G with half a round to play. Chabin and Pungman Gi in the clubhouse already. Eigay Young, she is at six under. A lengthy punt for a birdie at seven. She is even for the round. signed for 15th position currently. Now Pakyongyang also at six under also even after a 66 the end of the day yesterday. She was two strokes off the top. So, this reverse grip putting style has been working, has been feeling good. Doesn’t translate to a birdie on hole number six. Of course, last week’s champion returning to the wind column outlasting the fields. Chong Yunji at 11 under. This is a chance to move into sole possession of the lead. Downhill putt with right to left break. Didn’t quite have it sorted. So, she hits the turn with the par. At least that’s what she’s hoping will be the case with birdies on three and six. It’s her debut win back in May of 2022. It would be just her second victory in three seasons. If she can get it done this week catches the side of the hole. It will not drop. Uh-huh. There’s EA1. She’s another player in this. [Applause] Early afternoon cast hasn’t quite gone storming up the leaderboard as of yet. One under as she nears the midway mark. Va young will be looking to rescue a par here as well, but she stood up early. I think she [Music] knew all pars to that point and a bogey at number seven. Kim Shian at nine left to right breaking pot is tracking well just a bit too much speed perhaps. Good effort. [Music] as their gallery snakes their way down the hill towards the green here at the par [Music] three. We are ready for some tea shots. Hong Jung mean will lead us off. It is a seven iron for her at seven. Eight might have been the preferred club in [Music] hindsight. There’s a centrallylo pin at seven. 19 yds off the front and 10 from the left. Unsungi one hole further along. It’s a nine iron on. It’s a nine iron on eight at nine underpar looking to go all the way back finds the center of the green. Just the one bogey on the round after 24 holes. It was at number 10 yesterday. Gangapokei at four today. Birdied three. She is even for the rounds. Partred this hole yesterday. similar depth but more to the right. She was pretty quiet on the front nine yesterday. Her only birdie, excuse me, not even a birdie. Her only score under par was an eagle at the par five third. most of her improvement in the final five holes where she carted four birdies. Chan Yun Gi right here in round number one this ninth hole. One of her eights on the afternoon. We’re up in the mountains. It’s as much a test of cardio and stamina as it is a test of shot making. This is a stunning picture. You can just make out the fairway. The players will be expecting to rate G. Dungan will get us started. Started the day with four birdies in a row. One through four. hasn’t driven the ball particularly well though. Missed four fairways on the par fives. 10 of 19 overall. So Eugene approaching high and with that spin maybe a bit of side spin keeps it good and close. And now young clears the trees and finds the center of the fairway. two strokes back. Tricky look at a birdie on number eight. downhill punt with a little tap to get it started and she will see 10 underpar. She was ranked third after 18 holes and kept up that blazing start with another pickup and we’re only eight holes through her round. a busy week in the world of golf. Of course, this event here in Gyongo, the Star Hugh course playing the host, but also the US Women’s Open being held in the United States this week. G was always posting back up to set up a par. [Music] back to back corners for our co-leader. She hits the turn with the 33. Pengy Young fast putt up the hill right on the money. [Music] Things are under par for the round with 12 to go. Lots of time in a momentum building type of putt. She absolutely rolled the dice. If she was off the mark, she was going to be a long way off. Sam Eugene also out with a 33. Eagle three bird 35. Next up to do a little bit of scrolling to find her on the leaderboard. Tied for 44th. That’s down eight spots from the beginning of the day at the moment. The projected cuts just too under anything less than that wouldn’t be good enough though. There will be some movement up and down throughout the afternoon. Excellent. A1 28 under par. corner of the fairway. Staying on the front stage of the greed. [Music] Up and down the undulating fairways mean averaging the fourth longest drives on tour this season. [Music] 252.66 m is what she averages. Three good approaches. We’ll cross our fingers for some birdies. [Music] What [Music] is play? It’s got some similar features to hole number eight. this first hole and it is a long one to get things started at 517 m. Drivers too much club free dung in at nine. Okay, she goes down to the woods. Drops in softly on the right side of the fairway. [Music] Despite the gallery hoping their shouts for stomp stomp sits off. If all does end up on the fringe, her putter might be a little bit cold, but her driver is still performing well. It’s a friendly kick back into the fairway. [Music] closest to the pit with a nice shot. Attention cast back to EA1. One for nine under. What a putt. Back to back now after a fourhole cold streak. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Fantastic results. Couple of birdies backto back. Here Jun mean moving left at the end. Exactly in the nick of time. Five under now with her third birdie. A quiet 70 to start the tournament, but she is catching her stride at just the right time. Jung electing to putt from the fringe. Not enough speed though. Perfect read. Moving left heading online around five under through 11 to a time for 21st position. Yeah, that’s so Gim back to back for her as well. Five under through 11 safely inside the cut line. And just gave herself too much to do there. Oh, okay. go. Okay. You got young to go to six under par, but she is not confident with that club right now whatsoever. and the 10. Lot of ground to cover. Looking for the back middle of the green. Rolls up the hill. Young, that’s her par. Disappointing front nine. 37 with just one bogey. Nine iron for Buck Yongyang. She is unsure. That’s why shorts able to climb up the hole. No such problem over here. Directly at the pin and an easy tap in coming up next. [Music] closest to the pin thus far in the group. Nobody’s necessarily threatening. See if Hung Jong Ming can change that. perfectly in between. So, all three have their work cut out for them. Well, here’s how things stand at the Star Hugh Golf and Resort. Pungman Gi, Jake Abin, and Chong Yun Gi all sharing the lead. Chung Yun Gi with eight holes remaining. EJ and two cards of 67 today. Unsung through nine is one stroke back of the lead. Paken Young inside the top 10 once again. Eight under through eight. And our projected cut line is at two under par. This is the SUP MBN Ladies Open. More in a moment. Good morning. [Music] Thank you. Well, we are right back to it. Here’s Pyang. Missed the first putt. Wants the flag out for the second. was in her part to reach the midway mark in a pretty good standing. Young beginning the back nine, the star course and the frustration suffered from the front look to be continuing. She will just avoid the rough, but she’s not necessarily feeling the control of the clubs that her caddy hands her. [Music] Not bad first effort. So mentioned earlier that earlier finish in the season she was able to get near the top. It was one of a sub substantial note as it was fifth best finish of her entire career. She’s a two-time winner. Both those wins were in 2019 and 2020. Blasted drive. That was certainly long. We mentioned she is the longest driver on tour, but she trades a little bit of accuracy in for that extra yardage and ends up in the tall grass. This will be EA1 looking for double digits under par. And she has another. Look out when she is putting like she is right now. No lead is safe. Backto backto back birdies to go out with a [Music] 32 not to be outdone. She didn’t have to do much. The approach was that good. Takes the outright lead on hole number 11 as the first to reach 12 under par. There’s P Juang and they needed that one. Time for 72nd. Her third birdie of the round. She’ll need at least one more two to feel comfortable. She tries to make the cuts. Join us for tomorrow’s final rounds. Coochi one quietly moving herself into the fray begins her nine holes on the hue course now. With a fortunate bounce, Zay Young only 128 meters out. It’s chosen the eight iron. It’s technically back pin placement, but it is an oddly shaped green here on hole number 10. 111 left for Eong and a nine iron also from the rough. Yeah, she goes right at it. Despite not being in the fairway, some incredible control, not even with a wedge, but with an iron. It’s a great setup shot. The bar has been raised then for Pakyang. Shentos is back nine, tied for eighth. Four strokes back now thanks to Chong Yun’s earlier birdie. 66 yesterday. She is trending towards the 68 today which would certainly keep her in contention. As we mentioned earlier, she has done most of her damage on the back nine and late on the back nine as well. Same cannot be said for Hong Jung mean who yesterday only was able to find one birdie on the star course. It was hole number 11. Wouldn’t mind one of those balconies overlooking the gorgeous course. Putting green always a busy place before the round. After the round, it’s a make or break club and everyone knows it. Will take this opportunity for a quick power up. Need to wait for the fairways to clear. Green line for Hong Jung mean. Another player that struggled with driver so far in the event. just the sixth fairway she’s reached today on the par fours here to right breaking punt stays pretty straight. Just a little tap in to finish out the hole. [Applause] One. sends it away and pack nine has officially begun for this group. You wouldn’t be blamed thinking that the winner could very well come from that three. Brilliant approach from the rough reported with a birdie. Woo! Chung Yun G. stays straight now. And she’s got another one that stops one revolution short. Otherwise, she’d be looking at at least the two-stroke lead. Let’s pull. Let’s go. Let’s start to hole number one. Heading on to approval. Fresh off the birdie. Dungan. spends a whole lot of time in the air. When it lands, it’s a bullseye. [Music] We’ll just have the legs to reach. Well deserved and well timed birdie. There is the heat. [Music] Time on the green is shortlived. An overhand approach that rolls into the rough. Gay Young next up on 11. a satisfied nod. She collects her tea. What the Pang Young and her seven iron 131 up over the sand over the green as well. [Music] The only one in regulation mean might actually prefer to be back in rough. That won’t be an easy putt. Well, with that we reach the 3:00 hour. Nothing changing drastically just yet at the top, but from amongst our featured groups, contenders. Just waiting to see how their back nines shape up. What are you talking? And welcome back. Higa Young playing her approach shot as we head back to behind the 10th green. Pakyang will be the first to play. Floats it midway between the flag and the fringe. A little bit too much weight to that. Now unstock sixironir off the te 165 with the pin in the front right corner right down this little valley. I won’t have any quarrels with that. Bit of a left to right brake, but elevation wise, fairly straight, slightly downhill. That’s a makeable punt. A1 didn’t quite get it out of the rough. This is to save a par. And the streak had to end at some point. We didn’t think the birdie streak would end with a bogey. Pakang at number 11. Tomorrow we’ll see this hole drastically reduced from 369 m to 270 just like last week. Opening up the potentials for Eagles and what it could mean for the back nines. Got an early opportunity on hole two. Still an opportunity here for Bakang, but she cannot find the birdie. Okay, I’m getting also fails to save the par. Bit of an early speed bump. B. Bogey number two, pardon me. Four and 10 now. Drops her down a rung. [Music] Awfully close. Not quite there. Eye young will have to settle for a par. Chung Yun GR leader approaching 13 heading to the back. The back spin makes it hit and stick exactly where it lands. Play some doll after the Har will lead us off at 11. Sliding down the hill into a very popular landing zone based on all the previously repaired divots. This is the green towards which they are playing. Dongan 4.9 m for a birdie. Overhead hits it and misreads it. Fortunate outcome for her. One wondering where she ends up. Answer is perfect drive. That will be more than just a headscratcher. That will be a heart sinker. Dun in double bogey. What’s that? down from their perch up the stone wall. Future group is on the march. [Music] And no moves offline at the very end. Unsung can only laugh. while the others start to falter. Chun has an opportunity to extend the advantage. Finally gets her speed right. Her ability to read lines today has been second to none. It’s five birdies now. She is 13 under through 13 holes in the second round. Oh yeah. EA1 standing over our ball in the fairway. A 50 degree wedge in hand. She goes up and over the bunker, but not too far, of course. Just like that. It’s tempting to be as aggressive as possible, but any miscue and that sand trap is right there to welcome you. [Music] And follows suit likely a little bit further but not by much to EA1. leaves home. Jung mean being even closer. Gives it a little over half a swing and ends up right and tight to the hole. He shot at 12,65 m this par three with another frontlo pin brings it to within six or seven meters. That will bring us to a break. Chong Yun Gi has a two-stroke advantage. She is poised to break the tournament best eight under by the way. The course record here at the Star Hugh Golf and Resort. Echenu also out of 67, but she’s done for the day inside of the top five. Maso Young, Kim Ji Sue round out the top 10. The projected cut is still at two under par. More from the Suy MBN Ladies Open when we return. The Saturday action resumes on hole number 11. Here is EA1 for a birdie. wasn’t quite the spot she wanted to be in misaligned by a fraction. makes bounds and caser the bird. Much better spot to be than Eong who really let it slip with a double. So here she is at four under looking to bounce back. T-shot well right of the pin slipping downhill and that’s a good bounce back indeed. There’s six birdies and just the one bogey on the day, but she’ll be hoping that that’s in the rear view now at five under. [Music] [Applause] Up and over the pond with the water fountains onto the green. Here’s Puck. Starting left and sailing above the hole. Young at five meters exactly looking for six under. We’ll have to listen. We don’t hear the rattle and see it slip out the other side. Mean the last chance for birdie at 11. Just hangs out long enough. [Music] for 18th now. Six under her fourth birdie in 11 holes. That’s a pretty good clip to try and maintain. Go all the way over to 18. Edan is at two under and just about moved up to four with one swing of the club. able to use any club in her bag to knock that the rest of the way. A good finish for her to the front nine. Now at 13. It’s one of the best approaches from the day thus far. You’re you’re grinning and you can understand why I’m beat now on hole number one. Two under after 27 EA1 gazing down at the T shot at 12. The exact wrong sign of the green. Tries to immediately dissect what went wrong in the swing. [Music] Gee, this looks slow. Was it inches closer? It’s out of gas. [Music] It’s much closer on the par three right alongside Hung Jung. Tailing on in, keeping it within a nice 3 or 4 meter radius of the pin. That’s an approach that should lead to a birdie. Unsung knows this is going to break hard right as it goes downhill. It needs to start moving. hardly budges at all as that was straight down. Great weight. This is the back side of the putter to tap it in. She’ll stay a 10 under. Power for our leader. The advantage stays at two. Sun starting to poke through the clouds and the trees. It is Chung Yun Gi from Pugman Gi and Chabin. EJ and two. Ansungi tied for fourth. Chiian Soul EA1 tied for sixth at nine under. Chem at 8 under along with Maso Young and Kim Ji Su. 120 players in the field. As we hit a break, I remind you of the projected cut line which is currently minus two. I would see 71 players qualify for the weekend. So, we’re at the midway mark of our coverage, the midway mark of this tournament. Stay with us. Welcome back to the Star Hue EA1 will feel like miles away from the pin. It’s a really good account of herself. A strong effort to set up a sherpar. Floating that over the pond up on the hill perched just above the pin. Number 15, Chung mean so for a birdie. Look at the break on this thing. Wow. She knew she had her work cut out for her. The national team player stays for now south of the cut line. A gang now her bid for birdie. He needs one of these to go but remains snake bitten. backspin comes in just in the nick of time to keep her on the green and putting Okay. Jung mean comes down to you. Oh, catches the inside edge but not to be. [Music] Young doesn’t have quite the same success. She ends up on the fringe. Yeah, EA1 suffers the Same fate as he dung in a puff from about a meter downhill over struck. See her bogey for the second time in three holes. She hasd all the hard work she did on the front nine. Chong Yun Gi on 15 the par four. Yes, really good. She has been consistent not just today but all tournament thus far taking it one hole at a time in search of that elusive second victory. Young begins this par five. It’s an interesting split here at the Star Hue. We’re on the front nine. Two of the first three holes are par fives. You really are thrown into the mixer. On the back nine, a par five interspersed between two par threes and you don’t see another one until the last. Next is EA1. Doesn’t seem to be rattled by that bogey, but there’s certainly a noticeable absence in confidence with the putter. Heat up here. and just slows up. Get a firmer strike. Young have to settle for par. [Applause] [Music] Get on and Soni here at 14 6.3 downhill as well. It’s not quite going to reach [Music] was 95% of the way there. But we all know how fickle putters can be. You need to be 99 if not 100 every time. Got six pars in a row. She stays tied for fourth. Pak Jang just inside the fringe and inside the hole. First birdie since hole number three. Gives herself a little extra leeway. above the cut line. All right, we’re getting into a little bit of a run of momentum. Sunny Jean goes up to six under tied for 17th. EA1 drives the second shot along with the fivewood. Is that your contacts? Taxing just in behind us. [Music] Skip in rough and stuck in the sand. Hong Jung mean tried to reach the green in two and ends up in the bunker. [Music] [Music] He dung a par 31 14th showed a great deal of mental fortitude and resilience to Birdie after the bogey. Strong T-shot. That’s about 4 meters away from a birdie. [Music] [Music] could not get closer if they would have [Music] tried. He got young and he dung in signed by age looking for birdie. [Music] For all the good there have been moments of frustration amongst it though most people would take their frustration in the form of pars immune to the bogeies that have befallen young amongst others. She gets the back spin to trigger just in time. It’s a consistent theme, partners being right beside each other. We saw it at the previous hole. We see EA1 and Bucken going to do it here. Joy Lee is the next to come through hole number one. It’s one under after 27. Okay. Sure. When we come back, we will have four putts for birdie and they’re going to come thick and fast. Chung Yun G just parred 15. The advantage stays at two. The closest player still out on the course is Ansungi who’s three strokes back and it’s now a fiveway tie for seventh. Sixth way, pardon me, at eight under par, five off the lead. Projected cut is still two under in the second round of the Suyup NBN Ladies Open. It’s getting close to crunch time in round number two of the MBN SUP MBN Ladies Open. Event number 10 of the season, the 13th playing of this tournament. On the back side of the first par five of the back nine, Pakyang and EA1 both will have putts for birdie. Side by each. Pakyang the first to try and the first to birdie. 14 is where the group will head next. It’s where we find Bak Jang and she has found a birdie. It’s the second of the back nine and the second in a row as she goes to four under. All right, we just saw exactly what needs to be done. See if EA1 can replicate it. Not quite as if she pushes that wide. He dung in unable to capitalize and reach six under. Sometimes the supporters can do my job just as effectively. They’re excited for that from Jung Yun G and for good reason. You got Young with a chance that birdie clips the side of the cup will not fall. What’s up? [Music] [Music] gang. That’s a fun perspective. The BMW on offer just behind her. Fortunately, 400 is a long way [Music] off. Heat. Heat. [Music] delivered over top of the flag and stopping. Well, let’s call it 8 m or so past DA1 with a good T-shot. Pang. Merrily escapes bunkers one and two. Goes right down the middle between them. Good flat. Changing G. Haven’t seen much of that from her that close. And it’s not just the lack of awareness on the line, but the over hit as well. Some commiserations from the gallery as she looks down at the hole with disappointment. We reached we have reached the 4:00 hour. Hour number three begins. Welcome one and all. She went and played bold, attacking the second shot, ending up in the sand, getting up and down to propel her forward. [Music] Okay, that’s it. She was worried that it was going to move away at the last second. Hold on. Just long enough for the bird. Pakang dealing with this murderous break on the 15th near the front. The tournament officials know exactly what they were doing when they put the flag there. It’s against Wits. Nice dog. Jung mean has the honor here. Four holes on the way in. skirting that over top of the hillside rough and landing in the fairway aspiration from the supporters of Vid Dongan as she misses her putt. King on the fence. Does she like it or not? She was awfully close to the bunker. Looks like she avoided it. There is some dark One is the one in the group to come up empty-handed. Drilling the fine wood into the rough. She’s going to have to get used to the camera following her this close. She is the player to beat. Now uphill on the par for 16th. She needed speed to get up but carried a bit too much of it. The advantage remains two, but she’s running out of holes to build on that gap. And Sunungi remains waiting in the wings. Chungi is up to nine under through 13 playing on the back nine. Chenna also up to nine under for a tie for eighth position. T9 has seven players at it at the moment at eight under par. rejoining our featured group on 15. It’s 101 meters out to EA1. 5 m above the hole, but from the rough, so it’s basically a wash. It skips and rolls perfectly. pin high in a really good spot for a birdie. Pyongyang with a much cleaner lie. She might have wanted that to land a little shallower. Takes her much further from the hole than she wanted to be. And she looks a bit resigned as she hands off the wedge to her caddy. Pak’s got a chance. That’ll do just fine. I beg your partner got caught up in the green on Saturday. She’s been after that for some time. One hole left and now she’s up to 14 under. Jung mean a pitch and roll through the rough through the fringe. Good and tight. Now, as we well know, this is the very complicated side of the green. Caddies and golfers alike already getting to work trying to get a read. Now we in back left pin location today in round two. It’s a good illustration of just how much distance there is still to make up. You got young. No such problems. navigated the algorithm of club distance, spin, and the like and is rewarded for it. [Music] The uphill climb back to the pin was looking good until the undercurrent, the rip tide, moved it away. [Music] [Applause] Two putt par. Three holes. All that remains. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Well, with as many holes that have those front facing pin locations, 17 bucks the trend. Now, it’s on the back rise. Chung Yun G is starting to put a lot of distance between herself and EA1 inside of 3 m. She is unable to connect. She’s forgiven on 15, but she needs at least one, if not a couple on the way in here to make sure the wind isn’t out of reach before she even reaches Sunday. There is Jung downhill inside of a meter. Easily makeable park. It’s nice. I’m trying to [Applause] Can’t have any notes on a drive like that. It’s a good start. from Pakyang. [Music] Feels like a lot that we’ve seen today. It’s always just in behind. Not quite the distance, but very much the accuracy. [Music] Park Jang up the hill. Oh, come on. [Applause] Found her stride. She was nowhere even on hole number 12. Two under was barely inside the cut line. Definitely got her groove back. That leaves EA1. He was gesturing right, avoids the worst of it. There’s not much wrong with that at all. [Music] Young and that will just hang on. T19 her first birdie of the day. That’s a sign of relief as much as anything else. Kim Shihan at 18 breaks the opposite direction. [Applause] 18.2 m for Unsung Sunsungi. The roar for EA Young’s birdie a moment ago. warrant an even higher decibel level than that. Understandably, it’s not quite struck with the pace it needed. [Applause] 18. So the am 69 today, three under and that might just be enough or perhaps not. That’s the gloomy update projected minus three. Gin Young with a birdie of her own to go to five under. [Applause] Back to back, three on the back, nine and five in the round thus far. A par to end the round. Five under tied for 29th. Bogey free today. 67 is 5 under. Pjang on the second to last hole. As mentioned earlier, another 380 meter affair. Sends her drive to the right side of the fairway. [Music] I don’t need arriving on the green but not fully cresting the hill. Oh, I see. Yeah. Young looks back at her caddy and thumps the driver down. [Music] The supporter section starting to grow here at 18, over at 18. Here on 16, we see the arrival of the first approach on Here’s Hong Jung mean. For a moment, it looked like it was going to stay close enough for a tap in. Still reachable. and Suni needs this for a par. Avoid dropping to nine under. That’s a clutch putt. Very well done. to stay bogey free. Now it is nine in a row. But T4, both she and her caddy breathe a sigh of relief. Sun Eugene only 77 meters posting up on the par five 18th. You got young a sixiron 141 bouncing right to landing on the hillside rough. [Applause] [Applause] Swooping back in. Buck John with a lengthy birdie putt, but a birdie putt nevertheless. Next on at 18 is a very, very good one. [Applause] [Applause] in 110. We’ll probably play like 120. She’s only going with nine iron. Very calm winds. Nice and close. [Music] That was a really good effort on 16. A bit too long of a punt. Big ask a EA1. Jesus so narrowly there. So nearly. [Applause] Sun Eugene finishes officially with a 69 one one uping her effort from yesterday. Tied for 29 at five under [Music] [Music] parang is next to try. walking it way in. Just freezing by. [Music] [Music] Buck and Young eight under through 16. Next is Eay Young. Bump and run. Almost ran it all the way to the hole. 6 under through 17. Migon [Music] [Music] Jung mean overheads. Your miss is right. Chong Yun Gi one last chance at a birdie right to left breaking putt and she reaches 15 under 64 yesterday we thought how is she going to top it just about leveled or equalized it 65 she is in complete control of this competition [Music] now. Pang starting to sweep in left. Breaks a little late or a little early, pardon me. She’s finally cooled off slightly. Comes at the end. One to play, five under. Tied for 29th. Not up at this tea. It’s Hung Jung. She still is up 16 positions from where she started the to started the day, pardon me. And that in itself is an accomplishment worth [Applause] celebrating. Here’s Zong to join Hong Jung at that 600 mark. Currently 10 back. didn’t make it nine. Skips over, hits the back and requires one more punt. Holding. Thank you. Birdie here yesterday for EA1. That’s the confidence swing of someone who knows how to solve this riddle. Sansson 76 m out her third shot at 18. [Music] She now trails by five despite having the third best score. That’s more of a credit to Chung Yun G than it is a disservice to her here as well yesterday for Pak. It is a generous par five. Thank you. Strong starts just past the social contribution targets. It’s too good of a drive from Nigayong. Jin Young her approach shots. We’ll get the gallery excited. [Music] her time working her way onto the green. And now that she’s there, she’ll be hoping that she just has one stroke left. Sixiron for EA1. She’s 137 m out. Wants to draw a line almost perfectly over the inside of the left bunker. is too much club for her even with a little bit of help. A gargantuan serpentine putt for birdie. [Music] [Applause] Kenyang is next. She’s winning the closest to the pin competition thus far. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Hong Jung mean eight iron puts in a strong showing pin high and a chance at a birdie. Well, the 65 officially on the cards, it is time for the best round thus far. Though, Jungoe has three holes left and is also on pace for a 65. A 63 would be a new course record. 64 would tie, which Onion G was able to do yesterday. Paken Gang EA1 and Cooji1 all on the course, all on the same score as we get into the final few minutes of this second round. We’ll take a break and come back with the putts at 17 18 in its entirety and the second round highlights. Don’t do anything. And welcome back. Checking in with someone we haven’t seen much of today. Chennui on a hole that our featured group came through about 25 minutes ago, the 14th. [Music] EA1 steps up on 17 first kept the flag in knowing she was going to need to hit this with pace. Fractionally off and it cost her a birdie and Jin Young. Three birdies in a row to finish the round. Six of them on the day. She 67 in the second round. Second shot on 18 from Migay Young does exactly what it was intended to do. and then 10 parts in a row, but a great first eight holes where she did some serious damage. She’ll be one of the final players to finish tomorrow. We’ll enter the third round at 10 under. Oh, so close. also goes outside. And we’ll settle for a part. [Applause] Great bounce popping up onto the green by number 18 dung in two shots and now she faces a putt for Eagle. Jung mean has no troubles with this 18th hole. That is birdie number six for her today. Time for 15th one to play. [Music] Look at that back spin. [Applause] brings it to a tidy halt. Centimeters away from an eagle. [Music] It was a good arrival. She will just hang on basically. Penheim Pakita. [Music] You sure? [Music] [Applause] Second home. Jungle mean takes the honors and delivers the first shot of her final hold down to the right side of the fairway. Sure. Bouncing once, twice through the bullseye and coming to rest on the other side of it. She Oh, sure. That’s a nice [Music] This 18th green is where everyone is headed. Eye young with a birdie in a 71. 7 under through 36. Ed dungan for eagle. Expectation is never there, but the hope certainly is looping around. It’s not quite where it needs to be, but it will be 600. [Applause] Vast improvement from round one with the 66 today. She was almost in danger of missing the cut 18 holes ago. Much different feeling now. Oh, go check the road. Second shot at the end of the fairway from Bakyang. Hi. One last party for the road. Also improves on yesterday with a 66. [Music] Six under is their score with one round to play. Unless you’re going to try to reach like dong in. That is the perfect second shot. Jung mean has it in her lock. We’ve already seen her do it on the back nine. 235 but uphill. would have taken some gargantuan swing to do it. 480 meters. You pretty much need 250 260 off the tea to have any chance. To credit Hunger mean for recognizing that while might have been the Boulder, more fun way to do things, it likely would have cost her something. [Music] Well, if all goes to plan, we’ll only have six shots left. Setup and a birdie putt for our group. We are nearing the end. It is 5:00 p. p.m. local time. Immediately following the conclusion of our featured group, let the second round highlights and send you on your way. The picture has felt clear. The contenders, the challengers, the pretenders, and those who won’t join us will continue to give this round a polish in just a few moments. See [Music] Come on. Let’s go. [Music] Here we go then. EA wanted to start us off. She was one of the best with wedging hands in the nation. [Music] number two is Hong Jung. She goes exactly the same distance away as EA1. [Music] 24 hours from now, barring a long playoff, this tournament will be done and dusted. About 22 hours from now, the gallery will swell. There will be arrival announcements, trophies being polished, sports coats getting one last lit roll and photographers in position. There’s nothing quite like the magic of a championship Sunday. It’s where all of the hard work first two rounds in this particular case is realized. [Music] [Music] [Music] Pyang again came up short. So this is her fourth. It is from 22 m. She’ll still be away. [Music] [Music] Okay. Heat. [Music] [Music] She’s had the entirety of the last 60 seconds to think about this putt for par. Eight under right now is still in the top 10. She needs this 3.8 m putt to stay there. Unfortunate ending to an otherwise very good day. A day that’s off three bogeies after she managed to go all day yesterday without one. So it is seven under. It is a tie for 14th position by Day’s End and more crucially to the remainder of this tournament is eight strokes back of Chong Yun G. EA1 is next. He has ridden the roller coaster today. That’s another unfortunate time for a dip. No birdie. It’s a par of which there were six in a row. The birdie stopped at nine. A much more challenging back nine for her. [Music] Jam mean to get to eight underpar to the day. Stop running. The top 10 with three birdies in the last five holes. A day that was full of them. She was also crucially able to minimize the amount of bogeies. Well, there are still a few groups in behind them. For all intents and purposes, that’s the end of the line for us today. So, let’s look back on the day, a day that saw many of those who finish at the top of the leaderboard working early long before we came on the air. And a couple of familiar names that will feel very good to say repeatedly tomorrow, including Pugman Xi. Get it. Get it. Get it. [Applause] She had the back nine to herself and did a number on it. Birdie’s a 10, 11, and 18. Coming back [Music] onto the front nine and not really showing many signs of slowing down. That’s not to say there weren’t obstacles in the day. Of course, there were. four was an example of it. Over hits the chip, but does save the bogey. And I say save the bogey because it was such a long putt and it could have gone substantially worse. Seven is where we want to go next. And on seven, it’s where we check in with each two. [Applause] Fifth birdie with only two holes to play. she would be able to muster up backto back rounds of 67s. Chong Yun Gi when we began she was sharing the lead with Chay Gabin by hole number three she had birdie number two. It was a sign of things to come. This was the final hole for Pungman Gi laying on nine a 66. 11 under par had her in first position at least sharing first position for quite some time. She would eventually have a little company. Nearly even got past but Jay Gabin was unable to capitalize on [Music] a final punt for birdie. So she would [Music] flake slip in her 69th and final stroke. One bogey came with eight today. And speaking of eight, how she fared at eight. Such a fine razor thin line. She had to guide the ball across it all the way into the hole, pick up a birdie. And at 11, it’s when we would finally see Chung Yun break free. Wow. Putting it less than a meter to the left, at least an hour left to the right for her. We tap it in from there and say, “Okay, this is my turn. This is my time to build a bit of an advantage.” Hole number nine, EA1, a 6.9 meter putt up the hill, then back down. on it would inch closer and closer and just have enough to reach. She’d go up to a share of fourth position, but unfortunately for her, that’s where the birdies would end. Jung Yunji had found another to go to 12 under and then this effort on 13. Really has played the par fives well. In fact, she birdied every single par five today. One of the many reasons she is at the top. Pakyang a putt from just inside the back fringe. [Applause] Only her two under score at that point. She tried to keep pace with Chung Yun, but it was something of a lost cause on 70. A long uphill putt. A little right to left movement. She had absolutely dialed in perfection. go up to six under. And then on hole 18, the lead was three until it wasn’t. It moved up to 415 under par. 64 and 65 is a dream. Opening 36 to this tournament. So tomorrow she still has 18 holes to play and anything can happen. We know that certainly with Pungman Gi putting the way she was today. Jay Gabin maybe a bit of a slow day but a chance to bounce back tomorrow. Echanu Anssungi all in the top five but four strokes is an incredibly comfortable advantage to begin championship Sunday with. As is tradition for the final rounds, we move the clocks back an hour for our coverage. So that means we will see you tomorrow right back here accordingly and we’ll go from there. 180 million1 that’s what will be up for grabs tomorrow from a 1 billion1 purse. We see three under. We see some familiar names at three under. And that’s the projected cut line. I can still move a little bit as there are still players out on course, but around 66, the top 60 seems fair for a 120 player field. We’ve got to run, but we’ll be right back here tomorrow. We will crown a champion at the Suyap MBN Ladies Open. Might it be Chung Yun Gi? She’ll be the favorite when we see you in less than 24 hours time. But for now, from the Star HQ Golf and Resort, it’s farewell. We’ll see you back here tomorrow on the KOPGA tour.
