What? Subscribe. Subscribe. We’ll we’ll we’ll highlight all that. Don’t you worry. Just saying. You got to you got to remind people. Subscribe right now. Subscribe. Subscribe. Subscribe. Subscribe. Subscribe. Of course. Philadelphia, baby. You’re going to love it. Best sports fans in the world. Actually, the worst, but that’s what makes him the best. KB KB, big day. How we feeling? [ __ ] terrible. I feel you. I am [ __ ] myself all day. I’m so scared about this next game. Oh, I’d rather have that type of stress than everything I’m [ __ ] dealing with right now. So, what’s wrong? Yourself lucky. What’s wrong? Get it off your chest. Let’s start the show off on a high note. Oh, no big no big deal. Just, you know, haven’t had a car for a week, over a week. haven’t gotten any status updates. We called today. They’re like, “Oh, yeah. It’s a it’s a it’s looking from all the research we’ve done.” What [ __ ] research have you done? What are we what are we writing a dissertation on? What’s wrong with my car? Do we do we have like a a master’s program? It’s it’s a computer uh system problem that only the dealership can reset. So, it took you four and a half days to realize that a computer had to be reset that you can’t do and you couldn’t give me an update on that because why? So, we had to call my [ __ ] insurance, have them tow my car to the dealership because I can’t drive the car because it stalls out and my luck 31 and a half years would just come to a crashing close if I decided to get behind that wheel. Uh, which now puts me in the predicament that I’m 98% not going to be able to be in Albany for PLLO opening weekend because I don’t have a car. Because I don’t know what the expense cost on fixing my actual car is going to be. On top of what it would cost to rent a car, on top of the [ __ ] absurd timets that renting a car has to get it back to the rental car dealer. On top of don’t have a hotel. on top of DJ being like 50 and this is no fault of DJ at all, but flights being [ __ ] $600 from Michigan to Albany is absolutely ludicrous. And I also on top of that just have dayto-day stuff with this company to do. I have [ __ ] intern forms that I have to fill out for our intern when he comes back from uh Europe that I was filling out. And then his professor was like, “Oh yeah, uh we’re we don’t accept digital signatures.” So I had to print out one piece of paper for two forms to physically sign and then scan them back to my email. It’s It’s just one thing. I I try I try to just make a happy life for myself. I I just want to be content with what I do. I don’t want to have to answer to anybody. I want to be my Isn’t that the American dream, Steo? Isn’t that the [ __ ] American dream is to just be happy with what you do? I try to do that, but what do I do? I have to drag my dick through the [ __ ] coals of the earth’s crust in order to get one iota. One iota of significant movement to make sure that this company runs smoothly. Yet we have people I watched the [ __ ] Dr. Pimple Popper show last night against my will because my dad loves that [ __ ] and some chick has [ __ ] goddamn some weird form of rosacea and she talks about it on TikTok and she gets 16.3 million views and she’s complaining about how she doesn’t want to just be seen as the rosacea girl and it’s like sweetie you recorded a video about your [ __ ] rosacea. What do you expect is going to happen? Also, you’re mad about the comments. Turn the comments off. Guess what? You don’t have to read the comments either. That’s life to like you want to be an influencer. You just quit your job. You quit your job for one rosacea Tik Tok and you’re complaining that your audience is now enamored with your rosacea. I’m sorry. It’s so goddamn frustrating. I want to pull my hair out. I want to swan dive like those two British dudes who do the [ __ ] synchronized diving in the Olympics and win every [ __ ] year. What’s his name? Tom something. Tom Daly. I don’t even [ __ ] know. They’re the [ __ ] best divers on the planet. I want to do that into the [ __ ] Skookul River right now. God, I knew I clip that. I knew I wanted to do this show early because I wanted live reaction KB and I got it. had to keep that boiled up because I just got done like 3 hours of PLL press conferences that were fantastic. And as I’m sitting there, I’m like, man, it would be real [ __ ] great if I was going to be there on Friday. Guess what? Not happening. Have you Have you pondered at all an Amtrak? I I probably wouldn’t be able to maneuver it just in terms of getting home and it’s it but life’s a [ __ ] mess. That that life when you look up life in Miriam Webster’s dictionary, it should just have an asterisk and a footnote that says, “See the word mess.” And then when you go to the word mess, it’s just my [ __ ] ugly mug staring right back at you on the page being like, “Yeah, you you want life? This is what life is all about, bub. Right here. This [ __ ] mug right here is what life is. That’s life. It ain’t easy, kids. Life’s tough. Get a helmet, as Eric Matthews once said, and then he boped Corey right on the forehead.” Shout out to Mark Blutman. That was peak writing. I bet my mic sounds real loud now, doesn’t it, Steve? Does it? It does. It’s real loud now. It finally sounds real [ __ ] loud. Finally. God, I You don’t realize how much you need something until it finally comes around. The day that the multi-millions come around, I’m gonna I’m I’m gonna really know what it feels like to know how much I need that because boy oh boy do I [ __ ] need that. You’re going to be on [ __ ] goddamn cloud nine. I’m I’m I might find cloud 10. You know, it’s real nice. Cloud9’s real nice, but you never know. You might look up one day and there’s a whole new set of clouds above you and you you you get curious. What the [ __ ] up there? What’s going on up there? I thought cloud9 was the highest you could go. Guess what, Bob? There’s an infinite number of numbers out there. Well, you know what? At least you got it off your chest and you got it done right here in the the humble seat of me. And so so I appreciate that. But you know what? There are much bigger fish to fry. I also have news for you because Kay was talking about this. Shout out to my dog. Uh I don’t know if it’s for all the accounts, but I can go live on Tik Tok now. Oh, we can now. I can go live on Tik Tok. Apparently from my account and the main pod account, it gave me the notification, but I don’t know if it’s for all the accounts, but I assume it is. But I can go live on talk because my friend Nicole went live during like a protest and she got like a bunch of [ __ ] views and and I brought that up at uh at the truest like hey we should go live and then you were like no we can’t do that. I’m like this is really weird. For the longest time it said you had to have 10,000 followers to go live and I was like well that sucks. [ __ ] bing bong but now I can go live. So maybe maybe we’ll test some things out that maybe in the future when I’m not fuming and Tik Tok decides to take it down because I’m dropping curse words that the kids can’t hear. Yeah. I’ll I’ll simoc cast my view on Tik Tok live or something. Absolutely. Let’s do it. Well, anyhow, it’s great to have you here on Get in the Hole. KB Steo here. Ethan final day of his vacation. He is out. Yeah. What What a lucky bastard he is. You know what a lucky [ __ ] bastard he is. His mom is a legend. [ __ ] feels like he’s been away for a month. He went he went on vacation with us at the truest and then he goes on another vacation sitting in mud like the [ __ ] dude in Dune just rising from the muck. Bastard. Yeah. [ __ ] Lean Ethan Alib. Shout out to [ __ ] Timothy Shalamé, right? Dude, he’s turning into [ __ ] Jack Nicholas before our eyes. It’s absolutely amazing. He looks like the [ __ ] bowling guy, Pete Weber. The bad boy of bowling. He’s like, “Who do you think you are?” I am. Oh my god. We got a few questions that I sent out through social media and the folks have answered. People want to know what we think about things happening in the golf world this past week. Mail call. We got Will Alurus, a double herniated disc in his back, the same one that he suffered last year. With Willie Z’s injury, does this officially already in his very young career make him a one of the major what-ifs in the sport of golf history? So, I’m I’m a huge sucker for the whatif universe. And I hate uh not hate, I am I’m jealous of Trey Wingo for quite literally pulling an idea from my brain because Dylan Misola and I talked about for years about adding a podcast on the we probably still could do it. Um, but there is like written text conversation about us starting a podcast about like sports like whatifs and sports like domino effects that like led to different things like what if you know the Blue Jays never traded Royale of the Phillies or what if you know uh you know Alex Rodriguez was suspended in the 2009 World Series for doing steroids? Like do the Phillies go back to back? Like stuff like that that like has so many different universes that it could sprawl off to. Triwingo started a podcast very similar to that. But it’s that’s a passion project that once we have millions and millions of dollars, I would love to do with people. Um, but when it comes to whatifs, I’m of the belief that you can’t decree a whatif until the person’s career is over because there’s still opportunity for that player to come back. There’s still opportunity for that player to compete in the sport, whatever sport they play. Um, so until their career has come to a definite close, I always leave the door open on the whatif tab. Now, is Will Alour trending towards a whatif player? I would say yes. I think he’s on that path. Could he find, you know, a little, you know, path in the woods that leads him back to not being that? Absolutely. I mean, he’s still only 28. Um, so the the the opportunity for him to get back on track is obviously there. My big issue is the fact that he’s had multiple back surgeries. What is causing him to have the the wear and tear down? Yeah. That has led to multiple back surgeries. like what happened in the first back surgery that didn’t fully take or fully, you know, figure out the issue that he now has to undergo a second one. And the first thing I thought of when I saw the the post that he put out was uh was Mike Trout and how Mike Trout has his back issue that they have said they really only see that back injury with uh people who work in heavy machinery. or powerlifters because of the force that’s put on your back. And with baseball swings and golf swings being eerily similar, I’m wondering if it’s a similar case to what Mike Trout dealt with with his back and what Will is dealing with with his back because it’s not far off age-wise either from when Mike was dealing with his back injury. I know Mike’s a little bit older than Will, uh, but not by much, but it’s still relative age range. So, I’m wondering if it’s a similar thing just with the the force and the torque that Will swings with and if that’s something that when the time comes for him to get back to to training and everything, will a swing coach kind of say, “Hey, we might have to adjust your swing force and and you know, how you swing your driver and how you you know, approach, you know, the the full body torque to make sure that your back doesn’t fall apart and that you have to retire far earlier than you need to. So, it it’s fascinating because the the Willie Z injury this there’s a lot of different layers here and I bring up the what if idea because actually first person I did think of was Mike Trout, right? And granted, it’s been two very different career trajectories. Zour has been doing this on the Ptor since 2022. He had his surgery in late 23. He missed almost eight months. Now he’s going to miss another six to seven potentially. uh he’s going to miss almost the entire year. I think what’s really crazy though is that this is all coming at a point where if you remember after his first surgery when he came back he started changing his putting motion. Now is that partially because his putting was not very good when he was healthy? Yes. But he moved to the broomstick which allowed him to stay more upright when he was putting. Part part of that was because he felt back pain when he was even bending over just to putt. So already the the initial feeling there is, hey, I have lower back issues. Now, he said that it started out in the spring. He’s gotten a little bit worse. That’s only about I think five or six months at the most between the the the time he was cleared from the first surgery to now feeling discomfort. Yes, this is an injury that that’s very rarely seen by pro athletes. Could it be the fact that he is so skinny and can hit the ball so far that he is putting so much tension on his muscles in order to get there? I mean, I doubt that he’s not. It isn’t. It isn’t that he isn’t working out. Sure, he is, but he maybe just isn’t putting on muscle the same way. Is there a muscular distrophe thing going on? Could it very well be? And this is a precursor with his current injuries similar to what like David Wright had where he had spinal stenosis where it’s almost like you don’t you feel the pain in your back but it’s like it’s like a it’s like a crippling effect almost like it only progressively gets worse. It doesn’t actually figure itself out. Um I’m afraid to know what is going to happen to uh to Will. I mean, in talking to my wife as my medical expert, the chief medical examiner of the Mackoy household. Um, which is very funny that we have two chief medical experts combined on this podcast between your wife and my dad. So, like like right there, like just from talking to her, she’s like, “Yeah, well, it seems like two back surgeries in a couple years.” Even she reminded me this is very tiger-esque. Tiger Woods had had two back back surgeries very recently uh back toback when he was deal dealing with it back in 2013. So all of this stuff’s kind of like it’s a very similar career arc and we already know what happened to Tiger Woods post 2013 2014 15 when those surgeries happened. It’s it was a totally different player. I mean I don’t want to go all the way to say that Will Touris is a what if because his career is still very young even though he is 28 years old going going on on 29 in a few months. I mean the guy has shown flashes of being one of the best players on earth. I remember if you go back to prior to prior to his surgery, um the last eight or nine weeks of the year, I mean, he won his first career event and his only event at the FedEx St. Jude. He had gone into that week finishing top 20 back-to-back weeks over a sevenwe span. He finished second at the US Open, fifth at the Memorial, second at the PGA, fourth at the Zurich, sixth at the Masters, uh fifth at the match play when it existed. He played really well at the MX and the Farmers Insurance Open, but when he came back, it was again two very different players outside of three top 10s from the Genesis all the way to the Masters in 2024. Did not even he finished only top 15 twice and that came after a stretch where multiple cuts, finishes outside of the top 40. He finished 12th and 13th at two playoff events and then we haven’t really seen much of him ever since. He’s had uh one top top 20 finish uh over the last 15 weeks. And it’s very clear that he’s just been losing strokes consistently this spring after playing probably the players. It’s probably really what when he saw the issue because you could see the decline and a lot of it comes from the putting um stroke and whether or not that he’s still feeling the pain while he’s even standing more upright or not is to be seen. But I I am going to consider him a bit of a what if right now because if his career does nose dive, the potential that was Will Alauses in 2020 is so paramount. And to see him fall off, it kind of reminds me almost of like Greg Odin and Brandon Roy. They were supposed to be like the backbone of the Tim of the the the Blazers and they just injuries built up and they were out of the league in five or six years at the most. It’s a it’s very esque kind of a situation, but hoping the best fors out to us and hopefully he can recover and uh and get to that form that we want him to be at. He was at one point a top 10 golfer in the world. He’s nowhere near that. He’s towards the back half of the top 100, possibly even 150. But um we got to see challenge. Yeah. I mean I I think it’s all going to come down to what exactly the injury is. Yeah. to his back and like where it is. And then just the recovery process of figuring out the amount of torque and pressure he can ex you know exert when he’s swinging a golf club and genuinely like if I’m Willurus if doctor says hey you’re going to have to dial back here you can still play but you’re going to have to dial back on your drives and stuff like that I would trade need a little bit of drive power in order to just say, “Hey, I can play longer.” I mean, dare I say, and this is also a personal thing, like you’ve also got to look at at your long-term health. Uh, I’ve been told after having three three knee surgeries that I’m probably going to have to get a knee replacement probably by the age of 55. And a doctor once told me probably should stop playing football and stop playing baseball and everything. And obviously I picked up golf and and I’m healthy now and everything, but at what point do you give up golf entirely to know that you can at least live the rest of your life and hopefully have a have a good back? That’s the biggest thing at this point. I mean, like we talk about it with like concussions, right? There’s there there’s a level that guys can withstain. I mean, um, Philip Heedle of the Rangers has like seven concussions, two violoa, the same sort of issue. Like at what point do you say I got to just just end my career for the betterment of myself and and my future children and grandchildren who want to see their grandfather not be a [ __ ] crippled mess when they’re 65 years old. Like who wants that? He retired early. Patrick Bull is retired for the same reason too. Like like those guys value Andrew Lux has the same issue. He saw CTE becoming so big he was like I’m get me out of this like and it makes sense. Who wants to deal with that? So hopefully uh Will can make the correct decision along with his family and uh can can can figure out, hey, if this is a going to be a long-term issue, how do I approach it? And really, that’s the most important thing um for Will. Uh Dan on Golf this past week had Josh Carpenter of the Sports Business Journal, and I reference Josh all the time. He’s a tremendous journalist. He does a great job for the SBJ. They’re talking about Liv and uh sorry, the PIF and the PGA merger. And uh I I got a question here with live with the PGA PIFF talks cooling yet again. Does Josh Carpenters’s recent comments showed that that the PIF never wanted to come to an agreement in the first place? Now Carpenter went went on the show and was asked while talks have cooled have like do you know anything aside from that behind closed doors? And he said has live golf worked from a business standpoint or or an ROI standpoint probably not. But from a conversation standpoint, people are talking about Liv like it’s just another golf tour. Whether or not they ever really wanted to be in the room in the first place, they’ve won. I think it’s a really interesting take and I actually agree with exactly what Josh is saying. It feels like because we’ve been at this now for almost two years, almost more than that. Scotty gets asked about it. Rory gets asked about it. Three three years. No one has said anything about the continuation of talks between these two organizations. And it’s making me almost feel like the PIF was trying to get involved with the PGA Tour solely to get people talking about it and continue to be like, all right, you know what? There’s movement towards a reunification of golf. But did the PF ever really want to be at the table and try and join up with the PJ tour? They have billions of dollars, gazillions of dollars. They knew that signing the deal with with the CW wasn’t going to yield them any money. They knew signing the deal with Fox wasn’t going to yield them a lot of money. They’re get they’re growing Live Golf, but at this point, Josh is right. It feels like we’re just talking about Liv like it’s another tour that’s out there. And yeah, it’s different and like it’s polarizing and it’s much more polarizing than the Latin America’s tour or the Asian circuit, the the KFT. There’s a lot of different things out there. Live golf just seems like it’s existing. I mean, outside of what, maybe five guys, Brooks, Wen Neman, oddly enough, Patrick Reed, John Rom, there’s a few others sprinkled in there, but those are those are kind of like the guys that get like talked about. Yeah. in terms of just like the overall zeitgeist of golf. Like every other guy that’s gone, they they’ve like been Thanos snapped away from like the the forefront of golf’s like lexicon. Like nobody talks about Dustin Johnson anymore. The dude won the Masters in 2020, Grand 2020, but still went out and won the Masters in 2020 and with a record score, right? like and he has fallen off the [ __ ] cliff that Black Widow gets yeetated off of in Avengers Endgame. Like that dude stinks now. And like ever like every other guy that’s gone like is either older or uh you know they they they don’t have the competitive drive or nature to compete with the guys that are on the PGA tour, that are on the DP World Tour, that are on some of these other tours that compete week in and week out. And one that’s a testament to like those five guys and the the couple other that we didn’t name that are in the the mix, but those five guys in particular that they’re able to stay sharp, be in the field in majors a and still be relevant in everyday golf lexicon, but like I mean we talked about it when it came to the forefront two two three years ago like this inevitably was an attempt did sports washing like this was a a major thing to sportswash with where the money was coming from. We talked about that. Uh we knew that that was the case and at the end of the day I think the PIF is realizing golf’s not as profitable as say soccer, whether it be you know Premier League, whether it be MLS, whether it be some of these other sports that they’re investing in too. They’re realizing like these are just like single entity guys. It’s not team sports. The team sport aspect I don’t think took off the way that they expected it to. And I think at the end of the day, they realized that and have kind of just drawn back their overall interest, but have kept their name out there to keep Liv’s name in the the forefront of people’s brains. Like I I genuinely like it’s so silly to me that these guys all jumped and everything. Like I get the money aspect and everything, but like I feel like if you ask them now and seeing where their careers are and where they could have been potentially if they just stayed on tour and they had the balls to kind of just like go at the the good old boys club and go at Jay Monahan and go at kind of the establishment that is the PGA Tour and fight for what they wanted. a lot of those guys careers would not be as, you know, washed away as they are now. You know, at the same time though, I I do want to make this argument. Liv guys have gotten better in major tournaments. Like Sergio Garcia has had a a a revitalization of his career and he’s one of the best players on live once again. the guys who went and we beat we beat the horse so much about it. But the Pters and the Westwoods and Richard Blands of the world, even like Bubba Watson, who was who was on the drop zone last year, now now Dustin Johnson’s following suit, they did it because they already had generational wealth to begin with. They didn’t need to worry about making more money. And you know what? like we could still perpetrate and say like say Bryson should have never left, but let’s be honest, Bryson had had another revitaliz revitalization of his career as well. And at the end of the day, this goes back to what like like what Ben and I were arguing were arguing about months ago with with Rory before he was um getting back to his winning ways, right? They only care about majors. You so long as doesn’t matter where you’re playing. You could be playing in [ __ ] Argentina if you have a chance to play in majors. Majors maketh the man. You are determined. No one cares. And we’re going to talk about him in a little bit. Today’s Sam Sneed’s birthday. He has 82 PGA Tour wins. It’s the most ever tie with Tiger. Do we talk about Sam Sneeed as one of the top five greatest golfers ever? No. He has seven majors. Yeah, he’s top 10 ever majors, but we talk about Brooks Kepka as if he’s better than Sam Sneed. Talk about Rory Malroy like he’s better than Sam Sneed. That’s just the reality. If you win majors, you win everything. Bryson is a better player now on live that now he’s creating and he’s finished in majors better than he has in his entire career. John Brahm while has taken a hit in terms of his his overall all his overall notoriety has been playing better on live golf as of late and therefore has shown up in majors. Wke Nean is really the only guy that that you could really say this guy could have been the future of golf and he gave up give up on it for the money. Everyone else had generational wealth already. They they had nothing to worry about. walking is the only guy and then like the the US amateur winners like David Pu and James Pio who went over and like Caleb Sat from Tennessee like he had a chance to go big on tour but he knew it would have been a grind so naturally you go to live those guys I also get because it’s so hard nowadays in the pro game to make it out alive like we’re going to talk about it too in a little bit guys who just played at the NCAA individual final like John Pack won all three major awards boards is one of the best best players on the current tour and now he’s just grinding to keep his card as of right now in his first year officially on tour. He has a little bit of time, but it’s a it’s a grind. It’s hard. He was the best college golfer on earth two years ago. So like I the way I see it is that the live golf did really win because now they’re just a staple. They’re just there. They’re not they might not be getting views. They might not be getting the same notoriety the PJ Torres, but the guys are still in majors and they’re still showing up. Patrick Reed is still finishing top 10. Bryson’s almost Bryson’s on the verge of winning once again. Bruce Kepka is still in the mix every single uh major come around. John Rahm in the same boat. These are guys who they’re going to ball and they’re going to play and and you know what? They’re making their money right now. They’re doing it for the next generation. It’s everyone else who who no one really cares about. Harold Varnner hasn’t done anything. Jason Kraak I forgot was a pro golfer like that’s insane. Neato Pereira has fallen off the face of the earth and then all the older guys like but but at the same time we’ve stopped debating the PI the PGA Liv thing. Liv is just now there and honestly that’s really all they ever really wanted. They just wanted to be they didn’t want to be the polarizing ugly cousin that everyone hated. They just wanted to do things a little bit differently and it’s kind of worked out at this point. And you know what? There might never be a be a reunification in golf. And if there isn’t, fine. There’s just they they have a seat at the table at the very least. And that’s the way that I see it. KB maybe the funniest thing to come out of the golf season so far. Cobra released a new partnership with who else but Chipotle. And with that, Max Homa gets a brand new driver cover. It is a Chipotle rap burrito. Is it the best partnership in golf? I was gonna say, is this the Max partnership that everyone’s been clamoring for? I mean, it’s kind of amazing. Like, I haven’t seen something as good as this since the vape company sponsored Jake Knap and got like and became one of the most searched things on earth after he won his first time. I mean, good for Max getting the bag. That’s my guy right there. I mean, it’s to me, this is the type of [ __ ] that like golf should have been capitalizing on a half decade ago. Like, why is it taking until now to get creative and get like cool [ __ ] like this? Like, this is like this is a nobrainer type thing. And good on Chipotle, good on Cobra. But it’s crazy to me like how far back in time golf partnerships and creativity really is when you look at everything because this feels like it should have happened a long time ago. It’s the same thing that we say how how is Jaggermeister not sponsored by Stephen Joerger literally like and I mean Joerger Meister if you want to throw it our way feel free um but it’s truly like for the greatest sponsorship of all time like creativewise like these brands and these companies like and this is this is for all of sports but like there’s so many like marketable opportunities out there and it’s crazy that it’s taken so long for ideas like this that are probably conjured up in some high school or fresh in college kids apartment and never sees the light of day because they don’t get an invite to the table for creativity licensing and everything. But I guarantee there’s some kid in college who said, “Yo, you know what would be sick?” And he’s probably it’s probably some sort of high thought, you know, or delusional thought, you know, after cramming and stuff. Yo, you know what would be sick? A burrito rap driver cover. And I guarantee it’s written down somewhere. Some college kid in like 2018 and it’s now just seeing the light of day. Yeah. And it’s it’s just wild how far behind so many companies are in terms of getting creative, in terms of their approach to marketing. And you know what? I I commend Cobra and Chipotle for doing it. I’m just blown away that it took so long for it to happen. I I And also to talk about just like the actual advertising of it and how cool the partnership is. I mean, we were talking about it at the truest like um like do whiskey brands sponsor like players and like a lot of your Craig sponsors like JT Poston and uh Max Homa and a few others as well. But like there are a lot of brands that that could benefit from advertising with golfers and getting their name on bags. I mean like we’ve seen some crazy stuff like obviously the MLB sponsors a few guys. Cam Young, uh namely Eric Cole, uh John Johnny Vegas, like that’s a cool uh partnership. The Anaheim Ducks sponsored Jake Knap with a vape company. I mean like uh Kira Fie Barnatra, probably the coolest one I’ve ever seen because he was a known vapor trying to trying to get off cigarettes. Jewel was like, “Hey, we want you.” And they gave him a [ __ ] gigantic rig with all this [ __ ] and and they’d be like, “Yo, yo, Barn Wrap, blow blow for us.” And he would [ __ ] just shoot clouds everywhere. Like that’s perfect. It’s genius. Dude Wipes with Harry Higgs. Face of a brand right there. like it’s perfect. This is one of the cooler partnerships. I I I still think the dude wipes with with Harry Higs. It’s just the most like regular guy playing golf kind of vibe, which is perfect. Uh another one like this, this to me is like same level as Tiger Woods and Monster Energy. Yeah. Like it’s a little bit strange. This monster monster is weirder because Tiger probably has never put an ounce of monster into his body. But I would say he probably has done the what’s the white one? The zero calorie or whatever the zero sugar. I guarantee I never had monster so I can’t even tell you. But like but I guarantee that’s choice. Max is absolutely though a Chipotle guy and it’s like% and that fits. Ben Griffin won at Colonial this past week. What was the best prize that he received? Was it the was it the the sky blue Land Rover, the plaid jacket, or the honor of at one point in his life being an absolute nar being a lone mortgage broker for three months when he quit golf back in 2021? [ __ ] being a narp. Um, I mean, I always say the the prizes and everything are f I I think the jacket takes it, but the Land Rover I would say the Land Rover, but you got to figure out what the taxes are, the payments, all because, you know, they’re not paying for all that. They’re just like, “Here’s a car.” And then it’ll probably end up on Repo Wars when he finds out that he doesn’t have the uh the the bills paid for it and he’s thinking that, you know, the PGA Tour, somebody’s going to pay for it. No, Ben Griffin. From from one to another, make sure you find out the logistics on the car payments because I’ll say this, that would suck so massively. I don’t know where you can get a plaid jacket. Like, exactly. that looks as good as that. Uh he also is a graduate of UNCC, which by the way, shout out to shout out to UNCC. A great time to be a fan of this program. Uh just won Jackson Kovven is one of the best like golfers out there. Uh sorry, he goes to Auburn. David David Ford who won the uh the Haskins contrib might have won the team championship in the in in the NCAA. The baseball team is absolutely insane. Uh women’s lacrosse team just won the natty this weekend. Yep. that that as well. So, a sky blue, Carolina blue, Land Rover, pretty damn cool. But we got to talk about the story about how he used to be a Narp, right? He quit golf in 2021. He became he became a loan mortgage broker for about four months and he was on uh afterwards with again Dport and he was like, “What’s the story here?” Like, was that was that was that that like a stop gap thing? He was like, “Yeah, dude. I had $15,000 maxed out on an MX from traveling the globe trying to become a pro golfer, and I [ __ ] sucked.” and he gave up he gave up on golf after four months uh and for four months was a loan mortgage broker and then left his job and got and got his break and uh has made it out alive. But that just goes to show you, right, the the challenges of being being a pro golfer trying to jump start your career. Literally had to put his his passion on the back burner and work a normal job and he couldn’t travel to tournaments because he couldn’t take the PTO for it. And uh yeah, for four months he was a he was a Narf. He was one of us. And I think that that’s the that’s the greatest prize, right? Is knowing that you overcame that. Uh, no plaid jacket or sky blue Land Rover is going to ever equate to the fact that you were once an average dude, but now you’re here making millions uh, and capable of a better life for not only yourself, but but but for everybody else. So, see, I would I would argue because he is still athletic, he’s a he’s a nonathletic athletic per he’s a nap. All right, so like we had this joke in college. Uh my friend Steve used to live with two tennis players. Uh and they they had a slogan. It was it was my friend Steve who was an OT or PT. Uh Aiden who was a lacrosse player and then Austin and uh and Ian who were both tennis players. And the whole joke was that they had a PT, a lacrosse player and two Narps living in the room. Tennis players didn’t think of themselves as big time athletes. I mean tennis and golf go hand in hand, bro. their country club sports still still pretty athletic. You still gota be you ain’t you ain’t not not everyone is fat Perez or Barcel beef. Barcel beef for play podcast. Barcel beef for play podcast. Uh here’s my Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup flavored protein bar. I love Beef. Beef, you’re welcome on this podcast anytime. That guy is a [ __ ] unit. I could listen to Beef read me a phone book. His voice is so soothing. Barcel beef puts fat Perez to shame. Oh, he just makes him look like Perez. Therefore, honestly, puts me to shame because I’m also a bigger guy, too. Barcel beef makes fat Perez just Perez. Exactly. We love beef. Good for him. Uh, some breaking news. The TGL announced Wait, hold on. Let me let me let me back up. Back up. Here’s breaking news. program. The TG The TGL has officially announced their first ever expansion franchise. Detroit is the city announced the Motor City Golf Club will be introduced in 2027. No word yet on additional expansion teams. However, we do have some trademarks out there for teams out in Dallas, Chicago, and there’s another city that I’m drawing a blank on, Vegas. Thank you. Um, some cool things about this team. It’s co it’s it’s co-owned by Lion’s owner and chairwoman Sheila Hamp, as well as Broncos owner Rob Walton, uh, and major attorney Jordan Rose. Michael Hamp, who is the team governor, also uh, the the wife of Sheila Hamp. He’s also the co-owner of Middle West Partners. They’re also a major investor in the group. So, the first team, Detroit. Who do we think is going to possibly be on this team? Two things. Number one missed opportunity for Did you Did you say there was a name for Motor? It’s Motor City Golf Club. Okay. I I like that. Missed opportunity to call it 8 Mile Golf Club. Uh oh, that would have been sick. That would have been so dope. Um Detroit, cool. Up and coming. like not up and coming, but like they’ve been around as a sports city, but like all of their teams are starting to like come to prominence. Like the Pistons make the playoffs this year. The Tigers are the best team in the American League. The Lions are, you know, one of the prominent teams in the NFC. Um the Red Wings are working their way back to to prominence as well. But cool city. It’s unique. I’m glad they didn’t do Vegas or Dallas off the rip because I felt like that would have been kind of blah. Um, so this is different. This is fun. Number one, I need to see the colors. I need to see logos. I need to see all of that in order to give my full assessment of Motor City Golf Club. Give me Throwback Pistons colors and we’ll be cooking with gas. Um, who is going to be on the team? This feels like we we kind of talked about this when we found all of the trademarks for the four teams. What was that a couple weeks ago? Yeah. This feels like big Canada vibes. This could be a team filled with Canadians. Um simply because the Michigan and Canada border are right there. This feels like they could be Detroit’s team, Michigan’s team, but also be Canada’s team for the time being. So, I think there’s a there’s a really interesting like group of names in the mix. So, obviously we don’t have any Canadians currently in the league. So, Cory Connors, Nick Taylor, Adam Hadwin, and Pend are all on the on the slate. Um, this I don’t want to say to say this controvers controversial at all, but as a as a majority and historically African-American city, uh, and the roots that come with Detroit, it kind of gives me like the northern Atlanta sort of vibe. Like Atlanta’s Atlanta’s the dirty south. Like Detroit kind of gives me that that that like northerner vibe. I could very much see like the swag of Tony Fen now coming to the forefront as like the leader of this team early on. I know he’s a California dude really. He’s from Utah. Uh he’s Samo and he has the West Coast roots, but I could see the swagger of him really coming to the forefront and leading this team. I can see Cory Connors joining the team. If you want some other uh some flare out there in the room, there’s a lot of other names that stand out that I think uh could fit. One name that I think actually is a very um interesting one that might be uh I I don’t want to say say unpopular but a little bit strange. Uh Victor Havlin might also give you a little bit of extra oomph when you’re looking for a big name to join that sort of a roster. I mean again there there are other guys that that are out there who are currently top in the world. Um, Seraka is another name that that could fit. Bigger guy, interesting kind of drive. Uh, but I think Tony Fen is probably the one name that I would tab for this team early on. Cory Connor feels like the face of a team. like he’s young enough and like in the because I don’t know like I’m not saying Tony Fenol can’t be on this team but I also feel like he would be better suited for like a West Coast situation just with like living proximities and stuff like that for like fanwise. But like Cory Connor feels like he is uh one of those players that is in the golf lexicon week in and week out. He’s still relatively young. He’s only 33 years old. Um, and like he feels like Canada’s guy right now, too. So, if you do go like the Canadian route of making this a team filled with Canadian guys, like Cory Connor should be at the forefront of that. And I feel like he’s almost a lock so long as he wants to play almost a lock to be part of Motor City Golf Club. Yeah. really curious to see who they end up uh picking out of the hat in order to get in on this. And of course, there there could be trades. There could be different things involved now as TGL grows. And we have two years to get there. So, we don’t even know what’s going to happen uh until that until then. There could even be there was reports earlier of a Dallas team worth about $77 million. That could very well come into the fold early on now and be the second team, but they’ll be announced next year because they already have the infrastructure and everything uh and a bid put out there. Uh this seems like it was like like it was sort of a bit not uh under the rug, but like we all knew about the Dallas thing for about three months and now we get this. So could very well see two more teams in the fold. That would make sense. Would also add to that um divisional aspect that you and I were talking about a few weeks ago on the show. So I think that could be be very interesting. We’re going to take a short break on the other side. We’re going to give you our shout outs of the week. KB, I’ll give you the floor to open up with our first shout out of the week. Who is it? Uh, shout out to my guy Tommy Fleetwood. Dude has the patience that I wish I had to wait for that ball to drop in the cup like that. He’s a [ __ ] legend. What an absolute specimen. Just Ian Mckllen [ __ ] Magneto vibes waiting for that ball to drop in. Just an absolute stud. That’s my guy, man. I Tommy Fleetwood, if you’re listening, which I hope you are, my good sir, you are welcome on this podcast any day, anytime. We we will accommodate the time change. I know you live somewhere else as opposed to where we live here on the East Coast in the US. We will accommodate for that. You are welcome on this podcast whenever you want. Uh not to deter from my uh glazing, as the kids say, of Tommy Fleetwood. Uh Steve, do you hate Spencer Strider as much as I do? Yes, he is the [ __ ] worst. He just hit Bryce Harper in the elbow and Bryce Harper is now out of the game. As if anything in my life. Can’t just go simple for for one day. Oh my god. My my my future Hall of Fame first baseman is now out of the game because Spencer Strider can’t handle the pressures of pitching at Citizens Bank Park. What a [ __ ] mustachioed loser. So, while the attention all goes to Ben Griffin this week, uh why are we shouting out Tommy Flewood? Well, uh first of all, like you want you want you want to talk patience. Guy’s played 154 PJ Tour stars and has not won won a tournament. Like we’re talking one of the arguably five greatest DP World Tour players ever, has not won on the PJ tour in 154 starts, finished top five this week. It’s his 27th top five without a tour win. The next most of amongst active players is Ben on with 14 top fives without a win. He has 41 top 10 finishes. That’s like almost double the next guy on the board. Like how the [ __ ] is this guy not going to win an event at like I I can’t believe it. I am appalled that he has not won an event yet. But also, that’s just why I love Tommy Fleetwood. And I can I can tell you right now, if you bet Fleetwood top 20 every week, it’s just it like that should be that should be the gold standard play every week. Fleetwood top 20. Cory Conor’s top 20. Shane Lowry top 20. That’s it. I’d love Should we just do that? We should just do that every week. Any any week that he’s in, we should just like track that and see how often any week all three of them are playing. We should we should track that. I’m telling you. Ethan, if you’re listening, I need you to backtrack from the beginning of the year that who who were the guys you said? Tommy Fleetwood. Fleetwood, Connors, and Lowry. Top 20. So, I need Ethan to backtrack that to January 1 so that we have a full year’s worth of data and see where we are. Well, you know what? Let’s let’s backtrack it to literally this week last year. Okay. and and next week we’ll get the numbers and then continue tracking it the rest of this year too and see where it is and then we’ll have real like concrete data on those cuz those three guys are always they’re always in the mix. 90% of the time they’re in the mix and like the odds are probably decent probably like plus two plus three. Tommy was like plus 140 I think this week if I remember correctly for a top 20. Yeah, like the numbers are there. Plus odds for a guy that is consistently a top 20 finisher. Like like this week, let’s see. Let’s see what his odd odds are this week for for a top 20. This week they’re including ties. It’s it’s minus 125. But like if you were to bet all three of them, right? like a three pick a three pick parlay this week it’s five and a half to one he’s minus 110 without ties for top 20 like like with ties Fleetwood’s minus 125 Conor is minus 120 Shane’s plus 105 that’s that’s a that’s a five and a half to one odds this week alone and if you do if you do it without ties just if you feel that confident with them being in that top 20 uh three pick parlays plus 720 that’s I mean I mean personally I’ll take the ties for the for for the payout. But for sure, but if you feel that cuz like without ties, Fleetwood’s – 110, Cory’s – 105, Shane’s plus 120. Yeah. Like that’s crazy. So, we we’ll get those numbers and we’ll uh we’ll we will report back next week. I want to give a shout out to David Ford and Jackson Quinn. If you’ve never heard of them, well, get ready. You’ve heard of them now and you will hear from them very very soon. Uh both earned their way onto the PGA tour through PJ University. David Ford, uh, the class of 2025 top player. He won the Nicholas award, sorry, won the Haskins award this year, given to the best player in college golf, uh, of Chapel Hill. And Jackson Kovven, the third player to earn his accelerated status to the PGA Tour through PGAU accelerated. I gota I got to read you some numbers from from from Jackson Kven. First of all, David Ford, I I don’t want you to like be the bottom guy in this comparison here, but you’re an incredible golfer. You were a top three amateur in the world at one point. Like, you deserve to be here on this stage at gradu at graduation. So, congrats to you. We’ll see you on tour very soon. Uh Jassie Corin earned his card. He’s going to return to Auburn for for his junior year, but in two years, he earned 20 points. Now, for for reference, Luke Clanton is finishing his junior year and just earned his 20th point to get on tour. So, we’ll see Jack uh Luke Clanton soon, leaving as a junior. Quinn’s going to go go into his junior year. Uh Quivven finished top 10 to earn his 20th point. He becomes the third player to earn an acceler accelerated card through PGAU. He’s one of five active PGA Tour players to have ear to have won all three Nicholas, Haskins, and Hogan awards in the same year. Now, the Nicholas award is given to the best player of the year across all levels of golf. So, so the there’s the D1 winner, D2, D3, and so on. Haskins, I don’t mean to cut you off, Steve, but we have Oh, no. We have breaking news. Per Josh A. Carpenter on Bring it back. Uh, per Josh via Underdog Golf, PGA Tour officially approves changes to eliminate staggered start for tour championship will be stroke play going forward. Yes, thank you. Thank you. This is literally 30 seconds a minute ago now. Has needed to do this for years. I hated the idea of staggered scoring because it literally gives the advantage and it takes away every ounce of of skill from the bottom tier. I believe if you finished if you’ve been in the top five, you’ve won the torch championship every single year. It’s been like there’s been one outlier. Now, East Lake is hard, but if you finish 30th, it [ __ ] sucks to have to have to erase a 10stroke deficit when the first guy on the board is Scotty Sheffler and Rory Mroy and Tony Fen now and like, come on, man. Like, ridiculous. Thank God they’re getting rid of this. I do so think that they need to bring a match play into this. They will be adjusting the course setup as well. This is from a press release sent to um players a few minutes ago. According to Josh A. Carpenter on the tweet machine, uh in response to data indicating fans want to see winning scores closer to par, the PGA Tour rules committee will adjust the course its course setup approach to encourage more riskreward moments throughout each round, further heightening the drama and competition to determine the FedEx Cup champion. And it will be the toughest tournament to qualify for already. the most elite field in golf. The tour championship field size will remain at 30 players in 2025. The player advisory council is studying the qualification system for future years to raise the stakes on the entire FedEx Cup season and reinforce the tour championship as the hardest tournament to qualify for. I think this is huge for golf and there’s a lot of different reasons for this. I think that making it making it more heightened and making it more elevated and this is actually a great a great reference because you talked because we talked about it earlier. Everyone only cares about majors. They want to win majors but the tour championship should be like the fifth major. The players is very much for that because it because it is for the players by the players at TBC Sawrass at a public golf course. That’s perfect for them. But the tour championship needs an identity. And we and we talked about it last week with the PGA and how they need more of a new identity and a different identity that it lacks, right? I think the 30man field is great. I think they need a two-day stroke play and you chop down to the top 12 or the top 16. Do a match play to get from 16 down to four and the final day is the top four. And that and it’s match play the rest the rest of the way. It’s the same way the PGA would do it. And I think it’d be so good for the sport because we love the RDER Cup and we love the idea of match play and it pits the best of the best against each other and it’d be perfect. I do like though how they have they’re making the course harder. They’re making it more towards par. They’re going to make it major style vibes. The purse is going to be huge. If they can make this the sixth major, that would be such a big boost to the overall product of the PGA Tour because at the end of the day, they call it the race for the FedEx Cup. Shouldn’t that come with some sort of a a intrigue and an interest? Absolutely. I love the move that they’re making here. Good on the PGA tour for finally doing something that I agree with. Christ. Yeah. Didn’t didn’t mean to cut you off on there, but that was literally It’s all good. Let’s get back to the shout out though. So, Jackson Quinn, I want you to understand how like important this is from a golf standpoint because this kid might be like [ __ ] incredible one day. He I’m losing my track. Gained his 20th point. He’s gonna he’s going to not he’s gonna forego his tour card this year and go and go into his junior year at Auburn. But what are we going to miss and what are we going to expect from Jackson Kven in 2026 when he hopefully joins the PJ tour. He’s one of five active PJ Tour players to have won all three major awards in the same year. the Jack Nicholas award which is which is the player of the year across all levels division one two three and four there are different levels given to everybody uh the Haskins award which is the top US golfer voted on by players coaches and and me and me members of the media and the Hogan award which is given to the top college golfer in the world anywhere in the world he is the best golfer in the world he’s the only person to achieve this as a freshman he won all three awards as a freshman now there are multiple people who have won all three awards. Matt McNeely, Patrick Kentlay, but only five have done it in one season. He’s the only one to do it as a freshman. Scythe Tagala did it. John Pack did it. Levig Goldberg and Patrick Rogers. They’re the only four other guys who have done it in college, but Jackson Kovven is one of one. Now, David Ford won the Haskins award this year. Uh, welld deserved. Good on David. We’ll see him on tour soon. But shout out to those guys, man. Absolutely incredible stuff. Like the the future of golf is in safe [ __ ] hands. KB, who we got next? Next up here. Where is mine? Uh, Michael Lasassaso, who won the NCAA individual title for Old Miss this week, knocking off one of the best fields in NCAA history. A huge win for Miss and Coach Chris Mallaloy. Yeah, huge win for Michael Assasso. Uh, saw a few tweets. What’s your opinion? He was wearing 4in shorts. Like those calves. Those calves were [ __ ] humming. [ __ ] yeah. Let the legs breathe, boys. Let the calves breathe. Let the thighs breathe. 5 in inseams and up. We don’t We don’t need none of them. We don’t need to be wearing capries this summer, boys. What are we talking about with this seven this 9 in inse? No. Let the puppies breathe. Let them brea. Yeah. If Chubbies wants to sponsor this podcast, I will wear them on the show. You’ll have You’ll have the thigh cam ready to rock and roll. The thighs need to breathe. The calves need to breathe. We don’t need to be wearing capries or or anything like the the 2003 NBA style shorts. We don’t need to be looking like St. Bonnies back in the day. Okay? We need to be [ __ ] letting those puppies breathe all summer long, all year long, quite frankly. Uh but I like this guy even more. He’s letting him breathe. Good on him. 4-in inseam is a power move. I could see the ad read right now for Chubbies and and like I would be all over that [ __ ] Birthday shout outs this week. We mentioned him earlier in the show. It’s absolutely no offense to this man because he is one of the greats in golf whether or not we want to talk about him that way or not. Happy birthday to slamming Sam Sneed baby. Born today, May 27th in Ashwood, Virginia. Tied with Tiger Woods as the all-time wins leader in PJ tour history with 82 PGA Tour wins. He has 143 pro wins over a 30-year career. He’s won seven majors, including three Masters tournaments, three PGA titles, and the 1946 Open Championship at St. Andrews. Happiest of birthdays to Sam Sneed, uh, who is celebrated by his family as he unfortunately passed away back in 2002. So, shout out to the boy slamming Sammy Sneed. You know, I do this. There uh Lily Rose Depp. Hi. Um also celebrating a birthday today is uh uh former NFL starv. Uh, uh, rest in peace, Font Davis, right? Yeah, I think so. Yeah. Didn’t he pass away? Like a a suicide or a drug overdose? Last year. April 1st of last year. Yeah. Terrible. Crazy. He was like one of the funniest dudes. Um, he was great, too. Also celebrating a birthday today in the golf world. Ayaka Furu, Japanese golfer. Oh, there you go. 2024 Evian Championship LPGA of Japan. Tour player of the year in 2020 2021. Born in Coobe, Japan. Shout out. Best beef. Also also uh Andre 3000 and Jedakus celebrate a birthday today. Absolute legends. KB, we have some more breaking news. By the way, Today is just a show of breaking news. Liv DS is back, but there is bigger news than just the fact that there’s live duel. They’re playing in Virginia. But who has been invited and who is hosting live duels? Wesley Brian boy Dickens. The Brian Bros will host on their channel live duels in Virginia. They’ve also announced three more events in Dallas, the UK, and Chicago later on this year. This could also very well mean that Wesley Bryan, who’s suspended by the PGA Tour, might honestly just say [ __ ] it and might get a a a chance to play live golf full-time. Maybe even George, who knows? It’s kind of wild that would like you want to talk about plot thickening, right? And the only way this gets better is if Grant Hordvath accepts his uh PJ tour exemption to to play the Barracuda in a few in I think like a month. That’s what we call in business. It’s wild but not too wild. I really hope that Wesley Bryan goes goes in place for Liv because he he deserves the money a but also in the same way that Bryson h had a revitalization of his career because he was able to to just create. Wesley and George have both said they want to commit themselves more to their content creation and playing on Live. It’s a guaranteed revenue stream on top of the fact that you can now create full-time and you can do and you could do it with a pretty much loser schedule. I think it’s a great move for the Brian. I mean like not to say that like you should not want to be on be be on tour, but they wronged Wesley Bryan and shame on them. And so I fully think that if Wesley Bryan goes to live golf and he gets the chance to do it or you know what, if he just keeps keeps on doing his channel and does live duels and gets gets a ton of a ton of subs and a ton of views from this, then great. And you know what? Good on Liv for expanding their footprint past Grant Horvath, too. It’s it’s such a power move for Grant Horvad and the Brian brothers for them to say, “Yeah, if you’re going to do this, you’re doing it on my channel, our channels.” That’s a power move. And is I forget is it I think it’s also the whole point of it is is to get because Liv doesn’t have the same amount of subs as these guys do, right? I I’m just cur do I don’t know if you remember or know was the original one also like simal cast on the live channel? No, it was exclusively on grants. So is this one exclusive? Yes. To theirs as well. See power move by the creators for sure. Get the bag whatever they’re they’re doing to do that also feels like a missed opportunity for Liv. What what’s that? to just to just grow their digital footprint on their own channels. Now, I didn’t watch the original one, so I don’t know how marketing of like, hey, go subscribe to the live channel, too, or whatever, like how that all flushed itself out. Yeah. But it does feel like a missed mark on the league itself to say, yeah, the exclusive broadcast rights of this are going to be on a creators channel. And you know, even if it was like in post and you know, it’s live on the channels, but then you also get the video version on the Liv channel once it’s done. Yeah, that that feels like a a small misstep by Liv. Good on the creators, though. That’s that’s called maximizing your IP, but it does feel like for Liv to like we said, like they kind of just exist. This is another layer of them just existing. So, what’s really well, yes, I I agree with you, but also you got to think like again, they’re they’re expanding their footprint though to the creator side, and it’s a it’s a let me help you out. I’ll scratch your back, you scratch mine. Like, Liv is still getting the notoriety because you’re playing on the golf courses that have like live advertising everywhere. So, even if you’re a casual, you’re still automatically jumping to that. probably is also ad reads and stuff related to live golf and players are wearing their team logos and everything. For reference, the DS Miami had 2.4 million views on Grant’s channel. Grant only has 1.2 million subscribers. Now, the Brian Bros are only at about 550 and change, 550K and change, but uh Grant Horvat streamed with the Brian Bros uh the women’s amitter. They played Augusta National uh 1.1 million views there. They did they did another video together and that was at Quail Hollow this year 1.6 million. They did Valhalla the year prior that was 1.2 million. So there’s certainly a lot of uh a lot of viewership. The Brian Bros roughly average. I’m trying to find their like average numbers and what they usually get like on episode. Sorry if I if there’s any like cut out here, but um like they like they played with Phil Mickelson that that got 1.1 million views. uh they played a match uh with Grant, Rick Shields, Fat Perez, and everybody else. 3.4 million views. So, like they’re getting almost a million views, double their viewership already. So, that’s going to grow the Brian Bros channel first of all, and then on top of that, um if there is a chance that that they go to live, can be full-time creators on a golf tour for them. That and that’ll be huge. So, good on them for that. proud of Wesley Bryan making a good situation out of something that very well could be screwed over by the PJ tour. KB, before we get into our uh our beer money picks, today was the start of the scripts national spelling day. And like any good event and like any good podcast host with someone like you who doesn’t watch golf every single week, I want to see if you can correctly spell some of the hardest names in golf. So I I do have to preface this, Steve. I I do have PTSD when it comes to the world of spelling bees because your boy was royally r o y a l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l y y [ __ ] in his elementary school spelling be. So I was part of the what they used to call gifted and talented portion of my class. You were you were in enrichment? I was in Leap. Yes. Um, now [ __ ] show off. In in my fourth grade class, there were five of us in Leap out of our entire class of fourth graders. The five of us received some of the most deceiving and ridiculous words to spell. Meanwhile, the regular kids, the the narps, the normies got words like soccer, got words like uh vehicle. Now, Steve, the word I received that knocked me out of the spelling be in round one, which when you’re in fourth grade, that’s a traumatizing thing. You’re on stage in front of the school, microphone in your face for potentially the first time, and you you get told incorrect. It scarred me as you can you can tell as it is still bothering me 20 some odd years later. I was given the word personnel. The word was said to me personal as personal. Ah, it was stated to me as personal. Now when I hear the word personal, I don’t feel the need to ask for language of origin, a sentence. That that’s pretty straightforward. So when I spell P E R S O N A L and get told incorrect and that the word was personnel and then you put the emphasis on the word. I was fuming and then the next kid after me gets soccer and says capital S O C K R. I wanted to blow a [ __ ] gasket. I was pissed. But shout out to my lifelong friend Tony Campanella who did it for the Leap Kids and went on to like the state spelling be and [ __ ] popped off. She’s a legend. Well, I don’t think we’re going to be going uh that crazy here, but [ __ ] person. Actually, actually, we might because uh we have some names for you. We’re going to start easy with some names that you should hopefully get. We’re gonna start with Charles Schwarzel. Yeah, we we only care about the last names. Charl Schwarzel is which is we’re just spelling the last name. The last name because the first name is fine. Schwarzel. I’m going to go capital S because that that is a point of emphasis. Let me tell use. You don’t you don’t need to specify that, but I appreciate that. S C H W A R T Z E L Schwarz. Congratulations, Charles Schwarzel. Very good. Next up, we have Brandt Snedeker. Sneder. Country of origins, German. I’m gonna go capital S just for the fun of it. S N E D E K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K er. Oh, so close. The double K. It’s one K. I don’t know. I had Mandela effect of seeing his last name with You had Sam Decker in your head. I had I have a million things in my head. It’s okay. Next up, we got South African uh will be a name in my opinion on Tori as a young man. Aldrich potgger. Aldrich Potguider. Really? It’s poter actually. Aldrick Potgy. This is a challenging one. You’ve got my brain in a Philly pretzel right now. Uh, potgy. Potguire. P O. I’m I know I’m going to get this wrong, everyone. So, I’m just I’m throwing darts at the board here. P O D T G E Y D E R. Love it off. Yeah, I was ger. Yeah, I was never getting that. You probably won’t get this one either. Peter Uline. These [ __ ] names. Peter Uline actually of the uh the Range Goats over on uh on Live Golf. What’s the country of origin? Uh let me do some quick research. Don’t you [ __ ] say American either. It’s [ __ ] horseshit. That’s That’s [ __ ] goat [ __ ] right there from from New Bedford, Massachusetts. It’s like That’s like my sister. She says there’s no way JT Realm Mutoo is just American. Um, yeah. No, we we have no info on country or origin of the family. We just know New Bedford, Mass. Can you repeat the name for me again? Peter Uline. E U L far off. Yeah. [ __ ] Way off. Yeah. Get a real name. All right. All right. Grow up. I’ll give you a real name. Ui. Two vows. What the [ __ ] in the wheel of fortune is this? I’ll give you a real I’ll give you a real name that that that actually might know. Lewisen. Yeah. Give me one. What do you think? O Z T I H E I S N. No. Lewisen. Bless you. Have you ever seen the uh the Mike Francesa clip of uh of Louis? No, I don’t know if I have or not. Oh my god, this is the funniest video of all time. I’m going to see if I if I have access to this uh because it it is just so funny. under his last five rounds at Augusta National’s in at No, he’s not in. He’s still on the course. Louis Husen’s now seven under Louis. Uh’s in at No, he’s not in. He’s still on the course. Louisen is now Louen. All right, this one is really crazy. Uh, and and I will preface this with the fact that that it is actually two. It’s a name space name. Tyrone von ass Wagon. It’s a real name. There’s no chance this person’s real. Country of origin is in fact German. This is like a [ __ ] Courage the Cowardly Dog villain. This is somebody from like a Scooby-Doo movie. Tyrone Van ass wagon. This is somebody’s NBA 2K my player. Tyrone V. Who is this? Who is this guy’s parents? Where are they from? Tina and Freddy Van ass wagon. Where are they from? Did you say Tyrone? Oh, actually, I’m sorry. He’s South African. I thought you were gonna say [ __ ] He was born in in Johannesburg. I thought you were gonna say shit’s creek. Uh, no. He is uh Oh my god, that’s great. I I don’t I genuinely don’t have a clue. I I need to see how this is. Tyrone von ass Wagon. Asswagon. All right, we have three more. The way that’s spelled, it’s probably like van ass vegan or something. Yeah, it actually is ass wagon. I swear to God, that’s crazy. Uh, this next one you should The next two that the next two you hear them very often. The first one you should know. We’re going to go Michael Torbjornson. Uh, aneurysm. Uh, I’m going to throw in the red flag. I have no clue how to spell it. All right. It is T H O R B J O R N S E N. That’s one of those names where it’s like phonetically it makes sense. Torbjornson. Yeah, I knew there was a J in there. I would have put the J in the wrong place. I would have put like an O with two dots. KB, if I had a gun in my head and I had to spell this, this guy’s name to save my life, I would be able to do it. Christian Bazaden Hoot. No, I’m dead. B E Z Ui D E N H O U T. I know it off the top of my head. It’s not cuz I read it right in front of me. I have the last one that I know for a fact that you won’t get, but I need you to try your absolute best to do it. PGA Tour Thai Golfer Jez Yanaude. What is with these names and them being so vulgar? Nano actually is how you say it. What? Yanowatan. He’s Thai. Yeah. Jazz. Jana Ananode. No clue. That’s how Jazz says his name. No. All right. We tried it. I’m sorry if if I’m giving you horrible flashbacks. Now I’m gonna have [ __ ] nightmare. I’m gonna be like the [ __ ] war meme of of all the [ __ ] helicopters and [ __ ] I need I need you guys to photoshop my face into that meme. That’s me during this whole [ __ ] thing is just war flashbacks of spelling bees. Actually, I I have the photo that is you in that exact moment. I I saved it somewhere on my phone and it’s absolutely perfect. I Where is it? I need to find this thing because it’s the funniest photo I’ve I’ve ever seen in my entire This is you. Literally me. I just did a still frame for myself to put me in on the actual guy picture who’s there. Oh my god. War flashbacks. Let’s get to the good stuff. Uh, for some reason my things don’t want to load up. That’s actually insane. What What the actual hell? Oh, there we go. Finally, it’s working. Oh my goodness. Whoa. It’s time for our beer money picks presented by Kenwood Beer, America’s best light beer. You got the um the video from K last week. The Kenwood Beer. Oh yeah. Uh absolutely amazing. Only 120 calories, eight grams of carbs. So call it the best life beer that you’ve ever had. We just say you can’t beat the original. Go to kenwoodbeer.com. Use the candy tracker and see where you can get your hands on some ice cold refreshing candies from your favorite liquor stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and beyond as at as the Wellelss Fargo Center as well as the Man Center. It’s man it’s man center season, babe. If you’re going to concert the man, uh, which is Steve, genuinely, I should look at the man center concert schedule. It’s a concert venue that I just know, knowing you, you would enjoy. We should hit it. How do you spell it? M- an the man’s. It is one of the coolest outdoor concert venues. They’ve done so much renovation to it. I saw the Arctic Monkeys a couple years ago there in September. Beautiful venue. They got the Tall Boy Kenny’s at the Man all summer long, all season long. Love the Man Center. So, you can get Kenny’s at the Man all season long if you’re going to concerts or shows at the Man. First of all, Cynthia Orivo is performing with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Gas. Uh, Star Wars in concert, bro. Gas. Uh, what else is going to be there that I that I go see? I’m not going to lie to you. Um, this is probably one of my weirdest uh people who I like a lot. Rod Stewart is performing with Cheap Trick. That’s and that’s just that’s that’s just immediately like I want to go to that. Um, they’re actually doing uh July 24th. You’ll appreciate this. NFL films, a championship season with the Philadelphia Orchestra. It’s all about the Eagles. That rocks. Fish is going to be there in July. We’re going to see Nas July 25th. Ilmatic Live. Holy [ __ ] Weird Al. No. Pass. Also, the the greatest name in all of uh in all of music, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. July 29th. Steve, can I interest you in Kesha and Scissor Sisters that Outdoor? First concert I ever went to, believe it or not. Actually, the second concert I ever went to was Mmore and Kesha. Big time rush. I’m actually already seeing them at uh at Jones Beach, believe it or not. Oh, my boy Quinn. Quinn92 is coming to the man. Yeah, bro. Recently announced September 9th. Let’s do it. I’m good. Stanging Shaggy and Mount Joy. I love Mount Joy. Machi. Oh, not them. That’s [ __ ] Vance Joy. I’m an idiot. All right, let’s get into Let’s get into the Kenny Chatter. Top 20 pick at the memorial. Who you got? Let’s see. As I write down the timestamp for the ad read real quick. Um, top 20 in conjunction with our Tommy Fleetwood pick. That’s just a That’s a podcast pick there, everyone. That’s for science purposes. Um along with Corey Connors and Shane. It’s solely for research. It’s scientific. Um [ __ ] it. Why not? Big tone. Tony Fenel. I dig that. I dig that a lot. Let me find Let me find it. the odds for you with the ties. Uh, plus 120. There you go. I like it a lot. Um, a lot of consistency happening on this leaderboard in terms of like top names and really good results on this golf course. Tony Fen now actually does fit the mold. He has two uh top 10 finishes in his last five attempts at this golf course. There’s a lot of different ways that I can go here. Uh, but I’m going to ride with a name that I’m familiar with that I appreciate a lot. He’s plus 115. He’s right ahead of Mr. of Mr. Tony Feno. I’m going to go with Seaka this week for a top 20. By the way, you I’ve been on a cold streak like none other. Uh you’re up you’re up three on me and I don’t know if I should be embarrassed as a a golf knower, but uh I’ve been riding the coldest hand ever, the Schneider. Hopefully I can get off it. Top 10. Um, we are going to go in conjunction with scientific purposes. Top 10 plus 200 including ties. Tommy Fleetwood. Tommy Fleetwood. Tommy. Tommy Fleetwood. Wood. We need to get We need to record that. We should like you you You know, you know what I need? I need a a compilation reel when for when Fleetwood wins his first event of just him nailing putts to a Fleetwood Mac song or we just need to get in the lab and do it in like an orchestral type of thing where it’s like angelic like just so many voices raining down and it’s just like Tommy Fleetwood, Tommy Fleetwood, Tommy Fleetwood, Tommy Fleetwood And then it just continues going. But in that in that Tommy God, the people probably hate us from right now. My neighbors probably are like, “Who the [ __ ] is this guy?” Probably dogs [ __ ] going insane. It sounds like God absolutely nuts. All right. Uh I need a [ __ ] top 10 for the for the brand. Uh, how’s he been doing this year? He’s been absolute dog [ __ ] almost the entirety of the year, but I for some reason feel inclined to ride with this man. Where is he on this leaderboard? Here he is. Oh, you know what? He’s had a couple of good finishes. All right, I’m going to go out out on a limb here because I need a uh a win for the brand. I will take your Tommy Fleetwood and I will raise you a man who has not been playing very inspiring golf. I’m gonna go Matt Fitzpatrick at plus 300 for a top 10. Uh in his last five starts here, he’s finished third. He’s missed the cut back toback years and finished ninth and fifth. I have faith here that M that MPatrick can put up a pretty good week. He’s coming off of backto-back top 25s at the truest and a top 10 at the PGA. So I I will ride there. Top five. Um, I’m going to I’m going to go with Colin at plus 280 including ties. I dig. Uh, I’m actually going to go with someone else who’s who’s similar. I do like Column this week. Uh, he he does have some really good numbers here. won in the past back when it was the work day in 2020 and he has two runner-ups including last year only behind the Scotty Sheffller. Uh I’m going to go though with Patrick Kentlay this week. Um he really let me down to the PGA. He missed the cut just uninspiring golf from Patrick Kentlay over two days. But uh prior to that a top five finish at the truest and a 13th place finish at the Heritage. He’s been playing really well. He just can’t close out in majors. But if he can gain the same two and a half strokes that that that he has at the players and at the Genesis and at the MX and at the Truist a couple weeks ago where uh where he’s finished top five in all those events, he can very well capture a win here. If you remember Patrick Kentlay finished, he won in 2021. He finished in third in 22. Um actually he won in 21 because John Ram COVID if you remember that one. Uh but Kentlay is a winner here. He’s won here multiple times. He’s a lot of top 10 finishes. Finished here fourth in 2018, seventh in 2020, third in 2022. So Kent is a baller. He will uh show out this week. Your gimme pick this week. Um My Gimme pick is going to be Oh, do they not have That’s annoying. Um, let’s see. I had something in mind, but they only had one half of it, so I have to I was going to do another make the cut, miss the cut parlay, but they only have the make the cut odds. Um, bastard. I’m going to go with future friend of the program, Andrew Novak, minus 115 for a top 30 finish. I am going to join you with a top uh a top 30 play, but I’m going to go a little bit uh off the beaten path here with this one. Um he’s had some good success here in the in his past endeavors. Uh so much so that over the past few years it’s led him to a top five and a second place finish. He also finished top 40 last year just inside at 39th. Uh he’s had a pretty good year so far. I think he could do some damage this week. He’s minus 150. So he’s pretty he’s he isn’t the greatest uh layup play this week. I think Novak’s a much better call. But Denny McCarthy for a top 30 uh is where I will go here. Not to call it free money because uh because of any other reason. But uh McCarthy at minus 150. Straa is minus 150. You can get Henley at minus 140. I mean Harris English has a good numbers here. McNeely is 120. Uh so you can parlay any of those names, but I’ll take Danny McCarthy as my solely um top 30 pick for a gimme. The latter parlay. So for science again, we’re going to do Fleetwood Lowry Connors. Aside from that, what is your latter parlay top? Uh are you are you doing another four nations? Yep. I’m pulling it up right now. There we go. The KB Four Nations parlay. We are going to go uh plus 135. Cory Connors is our top Canadian. We are going to go I don’t like that there. So, we’re going to pivot to uh Minwa’s top ocean at plus 220. Okay, we are going to go with we’re going to go Seeu Kim, top Asian at plus 210. And we’re going to go Scotty Sheffler, top American at plus 210 for a four nations, four pick parlay, top USA, top Asian, top ocean, top Canadian plus 7,126 odds. $1 to win 7226. Actually insane. That’s nuts. Uh I’m gonna give you my ladder play. Top 40, top 30, top 20 this week. Uh let’s see where I’m going to go here for my selections. Actually, I can probably get some better money if I place him top 40 this week. And he actually played pretty well, so I’ll I’ll go with that. That’s a pretty good uh that’s a good pickum. Uh actually, no, the value is there for for Yeah, the value is there. All right, sweet. Um I will admit that that that this bet is a little bit risky uh inherently. However, I do think it is worth the look uh for all of you uh you betterers out there. Uh three legs plus 725. I’m going top 40 is Max Homa. He’s priced at minus 200 uh but does have good success here at this golf course in the past in his career. Uh particularly as of recent uh he’s finished sixth fifth. He didn’t play uh two years ago. He finished 22nd the year prior. Now granted those sixth and fifth place finishes were when he was really uh at his best abilities. However uh he has found a bit to his game. It’s been working for him. He’s he’s been getting better. So over time I think mass will come out on top and he’s played well. the burrito bump. It might be uh the top 30 play again, risky in nature, but his course history here has been really good. He had a top 10 finish this past week. So, part of me is making me think things might work out. I’m going to go Ricky Fowler. He has three top 10s at this golf course in the past. Two years ago, he finished ninth here. I do think Ricky uh for a top 30 is a valuable play here. 75 to1 to win the event. certainly won’t get us that far, but get us over the line for a top 30 and I will be happy with that. Now, again, also this is all with ties, might I also include. My final pick here, let me see where he is on the odds board quickly. uh in his last three years of this golf course, it took him a while to figure out this course and get to a level uh of confidence. But in his last three years, 10th, 41st, and eighth, I’m going to go with Sanjay M for a top 20 finish. He is plus 175 with ties or top 20. So again, that is Homa plus top 40, Ricky top 30, and Sanjay top 20 for a total net bet of $1 to win you $8, but $10 to win you 82 bucks. It’s not bad. So, we’ll call it a pretty solid play there. Your winner at the at the Memorial, what are you taking? My winner, you talked about him a lot. I liked him coming in, which makes me feel good. Plus 2200 to win. Patrick Can. Yeah, Patrick Can has some some serious history uh at this golf course and a skill set to boot. However, um I’m actually going to go with with the second highest guy on the odds board this week. Uh also, by the way, public service announcement to everybody out there. Uh you can get Scotty Chef at 280 to win the event this week. I mean, you might as well take it while you have it. Uh, but while you are going to go with Kantlay, who I have for a top five, I hope Tagatti Cash was there for both of us. I’m gonna go with Colin Morawa here. Uh, very similar to Patrick Kentlay in that regard in terms of really good success. It’s just I we’ve seen more from Colin. We just flip. Yeah, we’ve seen more top five. You have top five. I’ve seen we’re we’re riding together, Steve. So, we’ve seen very similar successes for both Kentlay and uh and Colin, right? Let’s just say John Rom was was in the field in 2021. Uh Morawa has three top three finishes, two runner-ups in 2021 and 2024, which means that Colin would have finished third in the event in 2021. Kentley would have finished second. He would have had three top threes, including one runner up, a third place finish, and a win in 2019. Uh but he would he would clearly have more um overall success with five top 10s. Collins is a lot more recent though. Uh he finished runner up to Scotty Sheffller last year. Uh and he withdrew in 2023 due to an injury. So that’s a a wash away sort of event. Um I will take Colorawa to win this week. But of course you really can’t talk about the history of this golf course without thinking Scotty Sheffller uh in his last four outings uh at this golf course. 22nd, 3rd, third 3rd, first take him at plus 280. You really can’t go wrong. That’s why he’s final thoughts here before we go. It is 7:59. Game four of the NBA playoffs is right now. Basically, I am uh I’m nervous. Um I can’t say too much about the NBA. I’ve been very much out on the NBA for quite some time. Um, go Pacers though. I don’t get how people hate Tyres Hallebertton. He is so easy. He [ __ ] rocks. [ __ ] Tyres Halbertton. [ __ ] his dad. Shout out to Mr. Hallebertton for being able to be in the building. Um, I I hope Tyrese shoots one of 20. I hope he goes in front of Daddy. Um, he’s so easy to root for. I’ve been a fan of his primarily since the Olympics when he posted uh the photo of his gold medal and did the whole group chat caption. I thought it was hilarious. He’s an easy player to root for. Um go Phils. Uh shout out CJ Cursed, an absolute animal. Uh can’t wait to watch him play. It’s going to be a little bit because he was playing with a broken hand allegedly and still put up a [ __ ] sock trick in the national championship game. Um, I’m all in on the Water Dogs this year. I think they have a real shot to win it all. After speaking with Coach Tyranny and Michael Sour today, media availability, I I couldn’t be more in on a guy who I was so wishy-washy on going into last year with Coach Tyranny. He has fully bought me in. And um we have one locked in potentially two very fun partnerships that we’ll be announcing in the very near future. One of them will be coming this coming weekend and we’ll have some fun stuff to do uh leading up to allegedly us being in Galloway in two weeks. Um, but a very fun partnership that’s been months and months and months in the making. Um, that I’m very excited and they will be a part of this program uh for the month of June. So, we’ll be absolutely awesome. Looking forward to it. Folks, it’s going to do it all for us here. Episode 206 of the Getting the Whole podcast. Be sure to follow us on all social media.
