This is the tea time golf pass tip of the week brought to you by QuickFix [Music] Golf. Darren Aya here, Quick Fix Golf. And at QuickFix Golf, we want you to play better golf now. And are you struggling with the chipping yips? Well, if you play this game long enough, you will. I don’t care who you are or how good you are. Uh mistakes will creep in and if you do it enough, you will get the yips. So, we’re going to take a look at Matt Fitzpatrick today and one of the ways that he combats some of the chipping yips in uh in his game, and hopefully it’ll help you out, too. What you are about to watch is horrifying. Yes, even the great Tiger Woods can yip a chip. And when this happens, the leading edge catches the ground before the golf balls hit. And it’s a breakdown of the lead hand. Here you can see Matt Fitzpatrick demonstrating his cross-handed chipping technique. And to me, it allows his left hand, the rudder of the club face, to slide the golf club right underneath the ball. And as you can see in this demonstration here, he clips the grass nicely without taking a divot. The club’s sliding right underneath and the leading edge of the golf club is not grabbing the grass. Here’s a closeup of me holding the golf club cross-handed. While my left hand is on very weak, it makes it very difficult for the leading edge to interact with the turf, therefore allowing the golf club to slide right underneath the golf ball. So, there you have it. Go cross-anded. Give it a try. It might work for you. It might not. But at the end of the day, you don’t have a choice. They have to do something different because the chipping hips once you get them they don’t go away. Make sure you got your tea time golf pass to get the great deals at your local courses.
