  1. Glad to finally see Haywood getting some visibility. They are great looking, but big concern I had with them was the durability, especially with that brushed finish. I'm actually looking at getting their DI.2, in the beautiful copper finish.
With any DTC clubs you should go get your spec first, understand what shafts, flex, length, and lie work for you.

  2. How do these compare to a Ping i500/i525, Takomo 101, P790 or a Cobra King Forged Tec X for a bogie golfer that’s dedicated to getting better and not spending a ton on for massive GI irons?

  3. If your customers want you to fit them for DTC irons, why not?

I looked into the idea of paying a fitter to fit me for some clubs and then order in those specs from a DTC brand but with shipping and taxes for where I live, it would have worked out almost the same price.

  4. Happy to see you outside some I kinda miss your old videos. Not that I don't think the new ones are great but a little change up every now and then is nice. Would still love to see a video about some forgiving but also forged irons that are loft more traditional. I love my mx 23s. Maybe something similar to those but a little newer. Honestly you are one of my favorite youtube golf channels, I love the used club content.

  5. Great vlog buddy, I think you stocking/doing the odd DTC clubs that you think are worth the money is a great idea for those wanting new clubs at great prices

  6. I can't see a problem with you adding another string to your bow – you've always been clear about your payment streams etc so there should be no concerns about bias.

  7. Really interesting to see the Haywoods. I keep buying other sets of irons to try them and see if they feel right for me, but so far nothing feels as good as the JPX-923's

  8. I think fitting DTC would be BRILLIANT. My background is air travel marketing and originally everyone said “a travel agent cannot charge extra to sell a DTC airline by adding a service fee”. That’s now the norm and could be for DTC Clubs. Consumer pays for fitting, gets a great and customised deal, everybody wins.

  9. i think you should do it buddy i know of a chap called Sam who owns golf repairs for you in derbyshire who know fits for haywood from shirley golf club pro shop so the more people fitting for dtc brands could possibly bring more golf to people with the correct equipment

  10. I’m in Canada. They are $1075 after Canadian taxes … but no tariffs! 😬

Plus up charge of around $250 + 13% taxes if you choose certain shafts (total, not per club I hope).

Not brutal but maybe not enough of a savings on the big brands if you are only buying irons every 5-10 years??

    Great review either way!! Thanks!

  11. I'd be very very interested in a fitting for DTC brands, it's the thing that has put me off going down this route. Some nice looking and well priced options just am i buy what I need…. Certainly would pay a fair fee to get the right set of clubs in my hands for the next few years, but also can't justify spending £1000 plus on this years top brand model….

  12. Simon if you want DTC and club fitting and end up with a fanstatic quality iron at a reasonable price you should look no further than Orka

  13. I have shafts that a perfect for me. Does anyone have heads only suggestions from direct to consumer suppliers? Tell me about your experience. Cheers,

  14. To me you’re providing the best value in fitting. Usually that means second-hand, but DTC is growing like crazy so it makes sense for you to have it as an option

  15. Think somewhere that has d2c brands to see what you like and fit in to would be great, yes it would come at a small cost for fitting but it saves massive expense or losses getting it wrong first time and trying to resell them. The US sub 70 model is great too the fact you can get a few clubs for a small fee as a trail to make sure it’s what you want and need is amazing, sadly not replicated in the uk market place. Also the price point of the Haywood up-charge shafts in the woods is amazing value honestly best d2c brand in terms of value for money I have seen so far.

  16. I buy off the rack, RH, Reg., some new, some used, some new a year or two older. The only set I haven’t tried are the “one length” irons. It’s a hobby! I try all make and models of balls. I enjoy your content. Thanks

  17. I ordered a set of Haywood irons and they were delivered last week. I love them. Was playing Callaway Rogue irons and the Haywoods feel much better. Price was great and delivery was perfect. The options provided are great compared to other DTC companies. You won't regret buying Haywood clubs.

  18. I’ve built two sets of Tacomo irons for a guy that comes into our shop. He knows his specs knows what shafts he wants even knows that he eats them -1 flat. I think it’s a fantastic idea to custom fit DTC golf clubs. I wish more of them would sell just the heads

  19. I dont think anyone would question your integrity. I think that loads of people would benefit from a fitting with both dtc and 2nd hand clubs. It sounds fantastic.

  20. I don't see a downside. If someone comes to you looking at used, you carry on as usual. If someone contacts you asking about your new options you fit to new and explain the potential downsides.
Then the customer can make an informed decision.
As long as you don't turn into a commission hunting salesman then there is nothing wrong with providing a good, honest sales service…. A good salesman is worth his weight in repeat business and referrals.
I think you are a good salesman 👌
