This is my full review of the Payntr 87 SC golf shoes. These could be the best golf shoes of 2025…but are they just too expensive?

classy refined and packed full of hidden Tech these are the painter 87 SC golf shoes they have a soft Clarion microfiber upper a fulllength carbon propulsion plate for stability and a plush nitrogen infused midell foot bed for Comfort it sounds like an absolute dream right but at £200 or $220 these shoes come with a serious price tag and for a brand that many golfers might not be familiar with that’s going to be a big ask now I bought these shoes with my own money so this is going to be a completely unbiased review I’ll run through how they fit what I like and what I don’t firstly let’s just cover off a few of the key details of these shoes so in terms of sizing I found that these come up just a little bit large they were absolutely fine in terms of the width of the fit and at the heel but I had quite a lot of room still at the end of my toes so I returned them and went half a size down compared to my usual size and they fit me absolutely perfect in terms of the fit first of all I’ve got to say that it does feel that it has quite a close fit around your toes in terms of the width it feels pretty standard I wouldn’t say that this is a particularly narrow shoe it’s not the widest shoe I’ve ever tried it sits somewhere kind of roughly in the middle and is a comfortable place to be rather uniquely it utilizes a booty design for the tongue and on the inside here so I don’t know if you can quite see that on the camera but all of this bit here on the inside is a one piece booty construction and then you’ve got the microfiber upper attached to that booty as well now the benefit of that booty construction is that it is giving you a really nice locked in fit with these shoes one other point on the fit of these is they actually have quite a low Hill drop so that’s the difference in height from the hill down to the toe now for me I didn’t really feel that much of a difference and I found these perfectly comfortable and enjoyable to walk in but if you know that you like a more regular size heel drop then these might not necessarily be the shows for you in terms of the key Tech features well first of all you have got this translucent TPU outsole you can see through that window section there you’ve got a carbon plate now this is a carbotex plate and it is full length so the whole point of that is that the shoe is supposed to kind of spring back and give you a little bit better energy return when you’re walking and putting the energy through these shoes during your golf swing in terms of traction the shoe has got seven spikes with one right at the top of the toe here and you’ve also got some extra bits of traction with some TPU kind of Nubs and sticky out bits and things like that out on the course I tested these in some pretty harsh wet winter conditions here and I didn’t slip once now before I cover my full likes and dislikes of these shoes if you want to support this channel then make sure you sign up to my free monthly golf deals newsletter I’ll include the links down in the description below and if you decide that these shoes are for you then I’ll include any affiliate links again in that description so firstly in terms of the likes I’ve got to admit I’m a big fan of the style and the design of these shoes I think they look very classy although I appreciate that design style won’t necessarily be for everyone there are a lot of little design choices and elements with these shoes for example you’ve got these gold dots on the hill here and I think they represent the number of Wis or something like that that Jason day has and you’ve got all these perforations around the outside and on the inside of the ankle and then some more of the perforations here on the front the second thing I really like with these shoes is the level of comfort that you’re getting you’ve got the nitrogen infused Mido and fit bed as well and that gives you a very soft cushiony feeling under foot and I didn’t get any blisters whatsoever walking 18 holes wearing these shoes straight out of the box the upper isn’t a leather it’s a clarino microfiber upper and it is very very soft I tell you it is a nice comfortable feeling on the top of your feet now even though these have got a fulllength piece of carbon running through that midsole these are still nice and comfortable to walk in you can see here that you’ve got these cutouts strategically placed on that TPU outso which means that the shoe will still Bend and flex in a nice natural way but you can see here that shoe really wants to kind of spring back to life with that carbon plate in it generally I prefer the feeling of having a carbon plate in my golf shoes or in my running shoes cuz I like that extra little bit of energy return kind of springing your step you get but it’s certainly not something that is absolutely essential what I do really like though is the level of stability that these shoes are giving me and that in part is down to that carbon plate which is helping stop those kind of twisting forces inside the shoe the outso gave me loads of great traction as well so I didn’t have any problems or any worries about slipping in these shoes and I’ve got to admit that there is a good balance of comfort and stability with these shoes I did my full waterproof test by pouring 300 mL of water over both the upper as well as the bottom part of the tongue and laces and and because of that unique Booty like construction I’m pleased to say that these shoes let in no water whatsoever that is seriously impressive in terms of dislikes my first one is the price they are simply really quite expensive the price point puts them right at the top of Premium level Golf shows and puts them on par with something like the brand new FootJoy Premier LX and a regular pair of FootJoy Premier is around £30 cheaper than these it doesn’t mean that they’re not worth that it just means that that price point might put them out of reach of quite a few golfers to be fair £200 in whatever you’re buying is a lot of money to spend something else to note is that the fit might not be for everyone it does feel a little bit shallow at the hill perhaps for some and as I said before it does have a very close fit above your toes so that just might not be the right fit and feeling for you something that some golfers might see as a negative is this upper material spending £200 for a pair of golf shoes that have a microfiber artificial upper rather than a natural lever upper personally I actually don’t mind it that much if it performs just as good and looks great and holds up then I’m not really that fussed now I don’t have that much of an issue of painter being a relatively new brand new brands have got to start somewhere but being a newer smaller brand will have its unique teing issues so when I had to change these shoes I did find the exchange process was a little bit of a hassle there was no free returns I had to arrange the postage to send these back myself which at £200 meant that I wanted to pay the insurance on the postage so I think it cost me near enough £10 to return these shoes and then I didn’t actually hear back from the team I had to follow up with them and then they told me that they couldn’t actually find the shoes that had been returned which was a little bit of a worry but in the end it all got sorted and The Exchange took a little over a week but that’s just something that if you’re dealing directly with the brand given that they’re new they’re trying to embed these processes at least certainly here in the UK that’s just something you might have to factor in so would I recommend these showes yes is the answer to that these are challenging the more established premium shoes in the market and in terms of comfort and performance these are right up there as one of the best shoes that I’ve worn in a really long time so really it’s going to come down to your preference in terms of do you like the look of these shoes and do you like the type of fit that they’re giving you I don’t think that you should really be put off too much by the price tag if you do like the look and the sound of them yes they’re expensive but there’s a lot of tech inside and they’re simply a premium shoe I don’t think that makes them bad value for money they’re just expensive as an alternative something like the FootJoy Premier series is going to look a little bit sleeker and perform just as well but it is going to feel a little bit firmer compared to these to help you decide I made a video comparing the FootJoy traditions and the FootJoy Premier Series so you can check out that video right here but first if you found this video helpful then make sure you tap that like And subscribe button thanks

Been waiting for this one…..
I appreciate the lack of a tall heel stack and I appreciate the looks of these vs a FJ premiere. Great review!!!!
Good looking shoe but way too expensive for the majority I would say.
How would you compare to the Galivan2r? I haven’t found anything I’ve ever loved as much.
their poor customer service and return policy is enough for me NOT to purchase. thanks for the review.
How does heel drop affect playing experience on the course?
Great video!!!
Do you have a referral link for the US site?? This took me to the UK one
Does this have a removable insole?
