John Ross Galbraith is just three shots off the lead heading into the final round of the Stromberg Masters at Belton Woods.

Galbraith is eight-under-par after a second round of 68 as he looks to hunt down leader Will Marshall today.

The Whitehead Golf Club man roared out of the blocks with three successive birdies on the fourth, fifth and sixth holes to turn in 33.

His back nine was solid if unspectacular with a bogey on the tenth and birdie on 12th to climb into fourth place.

James Sugrue, who had back to back top five finishes before this week, carded a sensational second round of 66 to make the cut on two-under-par having opened with a 74 and he shares 25th place.

Niall Kearney is a shot further back while Marc Boucher and Noel Murray also progressed into the final round.
