You can pick it apart and analyze it all you want, the main point is that it's a bad look on the NBA and the spirit of the game. The league already has a reputation of being soft and these soft calls make it worse.

Everyone should calm down. SGA averages 8.8 fta, significantly less than Harden in his prime, and SGA is in the middle of the pain all day. He's good at fakes, lean ins, lean backs, side contortions, and still gets the ball in the hoop, even with seven footers trying to stop him. Does he get a call now and then? Everyone does. Take a breath.

The problem is not only do they give shai the free throws, but on the other end they’ll make a call against the other team resulting in a turnover.. so it’s almost like a 4pt swing,
Second problem okc gets credit for their defense but let, the refs are helping them always have 5 man back because most of the time the other team has to inbound from the free throws shai just got.. meanwhile everybody else has to play transition defense because they don’t get the whistle on missed layups

Guys like SGA, Harden, Brunson, and Trae Young are guys who hurt the game by playing the system and bending the rules. Just because you technically can get away with it doesn't mean you should make a mockery of game and cheat the fans. Nobody wants to see guys on the line 10+ a night. Ngl, I don't watch games anymore. I have heard about the foul baiting, so I looked into it. SGA, according to stats, gets around the same amount of free throws that every 33+ ppg scorer has gotten throughout NBA history. Kinds seems like he's being held to a different standard than guys like MJ and Kobe. If you attack the defense, you're going to get fouled a lot. Or, at least, that's what my middle and high school coaches taught us and it seemed to usually work for us.
This is like the late 90s with baseball how Homer's sold tickets so they looked the other way while guys juiced…scoring sells tickets so let's let the offensive players do whatever they want and you can't touch them and bums like Gobert win defensive player of the year 4 times😂 all he does is get some blocks pff pathetic

At the start of this playoff series everyone was talking about how physical the refs were allowing it to be and no one is talking about that anymore. All it took was for teams to face the thunder.

Favorable is an understatement. & Windy, you were one of the better analyst out there. You can’t say that it’s a foul and then not have the same Kohls on the other end.
