The DP World Tour returns to Austria this week as the European Swing continues with the Austrian Alpine Open presented by SalzburgerLand. Being played at Gut Altentann Golf Club, the 18-hole golf course was the first in continental Europe to be designed by 18-time Major Championship winner Jack Nicklaus. With us now less than four months away from the Ryder Cup, two of Team Europe’s principal architects of their victory two years ago in Italy are in action. Luke Donald, who will lead the European team for the second time at Bethpage later this year, is joined by Edoardo Molinari, who will again assume his duties as a Vice Captain in New York.

Welcome to the Official YouTube channel of the DP World Tour. Every week you can find extended tournament highlights and individual player highlights from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood. This is also the home of the 14 Club Challenge, Little Interviews, Fastest Hole and many more challenges, pranks and world record attempts featuring the biggest golfers in the world.

Among those out first, Nikolai Vonellinghousen the German. This for Birdie at the par five ninth. That was his final hole of the day. Vonelling with a round of 65. It is a par of 70 here to take the tournament lead. Matte Schwab, another Austrian here. This is at the first hole and finds the bottom of the hole. Nice start from Schwab. Here’s a former Austrian Open winner, John Catlin, at the first. Coming out of the rough, it’s uphill this second shot. You can’t see the green. Sort of stuck into a little bit of a hill this one. He’s played that well though, Catlin. Nicely done. Here’s Matia Schwab, another one of the Austrians in the field. 14 in total this week. Oh. Dan Hillier who came close to winning the Hero Dubai Desert Classic pipped in the end by Tier Hatton coming towards the end of his day to finish his opening round with a 66. That’s no problem. Nice start. Now the left hand low chipping method off the steep up slope here. You want to swing with the slope, not into it. His shoulders are very level though. See how he stabbed at that? You want to swing with the slope. Pretty well though. Wow. Third shot of Brun at the fourth. 499 yards this one. Oh yeah, beauty. That’ll do. Well, we’ve seen a couple of chipins already. That’s early on. That’s nice. Back out to the action to the number to the number to number four and Cabrera. That’s amazing. and Woody. Chris Wood. What a delight to see Woody out here again and playing well. One of the most popular men out on the DP World. That’s a peach of a shot. 123 here to an infinity green. Can’t see anything behind it. Oh, that’s just a cork, isn’t it? It’s insane. Basically, it’s completely insane. It’s extreme. It’s unbelievable how fast they are going and how dangerous it is. It’s It is absolutely ridiculous. It’s one of the most dangerous things I’ve ever seen. Is it really bale? attempting to get to three under. Oh, and it does. There was never any doubt on that, was there? Halfway there. It looked like it was home Jerome. Four under up and down the hair would be very handy. Keep going. Yes. Nicely played. Okay. To the 18th. Well, hold. So, out in 30. Started at the 10th. He’s tied for the lead of five under. Pass champion many, many years ago. That was Oh, that’s pretty good. That was beautiful. That That was all. Welcome back, Don. You must be feeling good. I feel great. Thank you, Richard. Another one of the six Austrian amateurs in the field. Boandal and that will do very nicely. Thank you. At a tough hole, pops it in from the fairway for a birdie three. Believe it’s going to spin. If you land it short of the hole, you can actually spin it back in the water. Yeah, that’s very well judged, Jay. Absolutely spot on there. If you do picture that flag, I think with plent, you know, with a full shot, I think he will be going for a swim into eight. It’s the first time since 2022 that Chris has played three consecutive tournaments on the DP World Tour. So good to see him back. I mean had terrible. I mean when their legs expanded obviously before now time for the lead. Marcel Schneider at the second his 11th. Oh this is going to get better and better and better and better. Oh never never. Straight to seven under pass. Two shot lead just like that. Boxy was saying, you know, that’s when you hold a shot, you start thinking, you know, I think this might be my week. It’s exactly what he’s feeling right now. What a beauty. Catelyn found the fairway at 11. Another short path four. Not much left in. You’d be expected to give yourself a good birdie chance. Stay there. Stay there. That’s fine. There. Beastburgger. You give him a little extra knowledge. He’s normally pretty good. There we go. Well, that’s one of them back, isn’t it? So after a double bogey at nine, it is a birdie at 10 hill into 10. Oh yes, please. That’s a gorgeous golf shot. Andy Sullivan. He played nicely last week in Belgium. Hello. Hello. Hello. Here’s Martin Coover looking for a much needed birdie. He’s got to hold one of these. Crystal ball sitting there in front of Dominic Hollier to be very careful. That’s the way to do it. Stay there. Stay. Stay. Stay. It’s a good shot. It’s a wicked little pin position. Then this one just comes over that little just past Luke’s marker. Little bit downhill off his right. Yeah. Oh, nicely held there from Chicara. Lombard at the 16th. Short par four off a good drive. Should be trying to get this in relatively close. And yes, that will do. Now Schwab, two under par. Three holes left to play. His second shot here into the 16th. Come on. And there’ll be a few birdies here today, Tony. Surely with that T 80 yards up. Little copy lie here just pin high left for Kra. I wondered if he might get a little hybrid or blade it with a wedge, but he’s going to put this in the fringe. That will do nicely. Excellent stuff. 202 yards that 14th is playing. Come on. Come on, sweetheart. Yeah, great job. Done a great job getting the course in shape. Let’s just go to the 17th to Brun for his birdie. Left to right swing of this one. Yeah, well done. Actually, yes, it was the stuff we put in the garden is manure. Horse manure. This is just a little low bump. Nice. Nice. Let’s catch up with Chris Wood who’s dropped a shot at the 13th. Here he is at 14. That looks to be exceptional. Anyway, come on, Mr. Donald. Put one in close. Better. Much better. Make sure he gets ball first and he’ll get a face full of it. got ball first, that’s for sure. Divot well past the ball. Uh what a shot he played. Oh my. And he’s going to get a free read and 33 home. Brilliant stuff. Seven under 63. To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. And to subscribe, click here.
