Dan Rapaport heads to Athens to visit the University of Georgia, learn about their program that’s pumping out PGA TOUR pros and play a match with some of the top Bulldogs.

The intersection of golf and culture.

Behind every drained putt or hosel rocket into the stands is a human being with complex emotions—among them, an insatiable appetite for golf. That’s what we’re after. Golf’s humanity is what makes it so special to us. There have never been more reasons to love this game, and we’re endeavoring to explore them all.

This makes it out. This would be unreal. Go. Oh, it’s right down. It’s right down Main Street. Get up. Go. We are here in Athens, Georgia. We are at the University of Georgia. When you think of college golf, there are a few programs that you think of. The University of Georgia is definitely one I was counting this morning. They had eight players in the 2025 Masters. Eight players from this college program played in the Masters. So, we’re going to walk around. We’re going to get to know and get to see this beautiful campus. Play some golf at the University of Georgia Golf Club. Uh should be a pretty epic day. I’m ready. Let’s go. Yeah. I’m not sure honestly if I was supposed to do that. Um maybe some of the guys, the golf guys can tell me if I just violated like a big time canvas rule. I’m not sure. Dan, what’s up boys? How we doing? Good. I hope I didn’t just ruin something. No. Did you just ring the bell? I rang the bell. Do it. How’s it going, Dan? Nice to meet you. How’s it going, Carter? Good to meet you, Carter. Nice to meet you, George. George, good to meet you guys, Dan. Thanks for having me. Absolutely. You ready to uh show me around a little bit? Let’s do it. Let’s go see Georgia. Let’s do it. Dan, this is the uh first football field for the University of Georgia. Come on. I mean, I think What were we were we the first public university in the United States? So, this was our first football field and this was basically all around us was the first part of campus. So, everything south of here is new. This is the north campus. They play they used to play football on like a 50 yard field. Yeah. I mean, I think it’s shrunk over time. Okay. But I don’t Yeah, I don’t think the streets were here and I don’t know how much stands they had, but yeah, this is Is the football stadium close by? Yeah, it’s probably it’s probably like a 15-minute walk. 15 minute walk. 50 to zero against Mercer. Yeah. First game. Yeah, that’s what it said. 1892. I didn’t know football was invented then. I didn’t either. That’s when football was when that’s when it was a man’s sport. It’s a purist. You know what I mean? Yeah, for sure. It’s like hickories. Exactly. You know, a lot of balls. For sure. Here we are at the uh the arches. This is kind of like the symbol of the University of Georgia. Um obviously we’re kind of here at the end of semester. So a lot of graduation picks are going on here. So this is kind of a cool marker landmark here at the University of Georgia. So and I’m not supposed to walk through that thing, right? Yeah. So it’s bad luck to walk through if you haven’t graduated. And somebody might have might have already done that. Already Zach screwed it up. Yeah. It’s okay, Zach. You’re never going to graduate from the University of Georgia. You going to be okay. Okay. You’re doing all right. So, you guys live like in this part of town? No, we’re kind of closer to the golf course. Yeah. It’s like an area called like Five Points. Okay. So, that’s kind of where our house is cuz it’s a little closer to the university course. Is this where like people go out and stuff? Yeah. This is this is the night life right here. This is a busy spot Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Coach Hack tries to keep you guys away from here. Yeah. As much as possible. Yeah. From from this area, they started out of the uh 40 watt which is like right down the street. That’s a good like local music spot. Yeah, it’s like a it’s like a concert hall. All right. W Street Records. Yeah. I hear this is this is the We’re about to go check it out. Smells like a record store should smell here. How you doing? How’s it going? [ __ ] You got a vinyl player for Yeah. I was going to say if you’re single, a vinyl player is a really worthy investment. Really? Yeah. Is that the one? Might be the difference, bro. Do you guys see like is there a bunch of live music in this town? Oh, yeah. All the time. The Georgia theater always has really good music. I don’t go as much as I should. Focus on the golf, baby. Yeah, I’m trying to. Alabama Shakes, Alt J. I’ve heard of all these bands. I need to get more in depth in the older music. That one. This is a good album right here. That’s sick. I want that one. That’s what like Blue Sky and 46 bucks. It’s worth it. Gosh, that’s a sick. I didn’t know this that expensive. That thing’s tour. I don’t know. There’s like there’s a few songs that I have on here like on Spotify that I listen to all the time. Like my most listened to song on Spotify last year was uh was Blue Sky by them. And then Melissa and Ain’t Wasting No Time. Those are all good ones. Feel like Spotify kind of like it didn’t ruin it. Oh, it definitely did. But like in a way like you just listen to individual songs off all these albums. So it’s like Winter Skard Paw. That’s a good one. So, was it just like Georgia always for you guys? Basically, our parents were in school together here. Really? My dad and mom met here, but they’re both just went to school here. So, yeah. Georgia lifers. Yeah. So, you had to prove to coach A that you were you’re good enough to follow in dad’s footsteps. I’m not good enough, but I was good enough to slip on the team. Well, Buckyy’s on the hunt for uh Franklin’s top 10 record. Yeah. Got top 10 the next two. And then you set the record to tie him. Yeah. What do you have 10? Yeah, you had 10 single season. So, you had a good senior year. Yeah. I’ve had eight top 10 in a win. So, that’s why that’s why your cliff is higher than your Yeah. PJ tour. You That’s good though. Yeah. You want to peak before you turn pro? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. So, you’re going to turn pro like the day after NCA basically. I don’t know cuz from what it looks like I’ll have Canada and they want to they don’t start till July. So, I might play Palmer Cup if I can get in June cuz it’s a congre my aunt’s member there. Really? Sick. Really? I’ve been there. I was there when they had that one random tour event when Gary Kgo won. I remember that. place. Yeah, it’s really cool. Me and George will probably find a house here with um a guy named Connor Crees and then Trent Phillips. They’re both Creie’s on Americas and Trent’s on Cornferry. Yeah. And we’ll uh figure out some pro deals around here and practice at our facility. Have you uh done a lot of traveling cuz I’m America’s is like I’m not ready for that. It’s going to be interesting. I I uh we played the Ford and I moved up and I was like I probably should go get a passport. I didn’t have one. I can’t believe that I went home and got one. Have a passport. [Music] Yeah, it’s going to be important next year. It’s all It’s all South America basically, right? So, from what we hear, it’s not the easiest travel, but you got to do it. Got to do it. Earn the stripes. Mhm. Well, I can find fun though. Oh, yeah. Well, will you get into like second stage also? Yeah. Second stage school. So, if you just get hot and Q school, you go corny, right? Yeah. That’s the best way to do it. Or just win the thing and then you big tour. Yeah, exactly. All right. Georgia Theater. Yeah. Yeah. Here she is. The famous George Theater. You’ve been here? I have been here. Uh they have a lot of lot of concerts and music events happen here. They also have like a lot of like formals and stuff. Formals, man. I wish I was in college still. Yeah, it’s a good spot to be. I’d love to go to a formal at the Georgia Theater. Yeah. If anyone wants to take me to Formal at the Georgia Theater, my wife would understand, I think. Yeah. A lot of headlining artists that like roll through here, too. Small town. Yeah. Megan [ __ ] was just here. Yeah. Megan [ __ ] Green’s going to be here this week, right? Lot of lot of country music. Yeah. This is a country music spot. Yeah. Cool. All right. Well, let’s go play golf. Huh? Let’s go do it. Let’s go. I’m feeling golf. All right. Let’s go this way. Come on. Let’s do it. That’s perfect. My car’s right here, too. There you go. That’s cash. All right. Well, we are uh we’re leaving campus area to head to the golf course. Strong vibes with this crew so far. Georgia boys. They’re all from Georgia. Play here at the University of Georgia. So, we’re we’re building a team. I told them that there’s a number to beat. We shot six under with the Auburn guys. I think we shot 8 under with the Texas guys. So, that’s a target. Got to birdie every hole. It’s very very simple. Uh they said that the golf course is is difficult, but nothing crazy. It’s all about birdieing the par 3s. We got to hit some shots into the par 3es. And uh yeah, you know, we’ve been going to a bunch of these SEC schools. We’ve done three SEC schools now. We’ve done Auburn, we’ve done Texas, and we’ve done Georgia. And I’ve just loved every single one. and I don’t want to be, you know, like the Drake who is just a fan of every single college. So, I’m in a tough spot because every time I go to one of these campuses, I love them. I love the golf teams. Um, so I can’t, but I can’t be like pro Auburn, pro Texas, and pro Georgia. So, I’m Today, I’m pro Georgia. I think I get a pass. I think I can do when I’m on campus, I can lean all the way in and then maybe let it marinate after and see which school really grabs my heart and leaves a lasting mark. Georgia’s doing a good job. They’re off to a hot start. All right, Scratch University is back. We are here at the University of Georgia Golf Club in Athens, Georgia. I am joined by three lovely gentlemen from the University of Georgia golf team. I’ll let you guys introduce yourselves. I’m Buck Brumllo. I’m from Carterville, Georgia, and this is my uh last year at the University of Georgia. I’ll be graduating in about a week. Senior year, baby. Same here. I’m a senior as well. I’m George Langham. I’m from Peach Tree City, Georgia. And uh yeah, me and Buck are graduating in about a week. And I’m Carter Laughlin. I’m from Duth, Georgia. I’m a junior. Uh so I still got a year under my belt, but I’m already feeling the pressure of feeling old like George. Already feeling old. So what we do on this series, we’re going to play a scramble. Four band scramble, nine holes. We’re going to try to beat the numbers that we’ve already posted. I believe we shot six under with Auburn. We shot eight under with the University of Texas. So now we got the Georgia Bulldogs. We’re going to let the dogs eat. We’re going to hit driver absolutely everywhere. And we’re going to make some birdies. That’s right. Let’s do it, boys. [Music] Nice and smooth. Danny, you’re not going to outdrive anybody today, so let’s not try. Oh yeah, that was that was actually hit hard. A little bit down the right. Probably will out drive me. That actually had some pop on it. Yeah, it did. Yeah, that was that was in trouble. All right, have me. That’s That’s spinning like a 1,800. So, I’d probably be better at golf if I use two rain gloves, but there’s certain lines that I’m just not going to cross. You know what I mean? I forgot about the shot. Almost $5. Points need expensive round for me. Nice swing, Jared. That’s perfect, right? Yeah, that’ll be good. Yeah, it’s good. Kind of kicks right. Here we go. fun partner or four. Yeah. So, you played three years at Coastal Coastal Georgia. Yeah. Is that D3? It was NIA. Were you always just trying to get to Georgia? Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Coach understood when you said, “Hey, I’m going to that bigger school in Georgia.” Yeah. Yeah. He played actually at Georgia as well. Okay. Nice. That’s a bomb. I’ll play that. You do that. You do that tuck always? I do. Wow. Yeah. Little training aid. I got to I got to call the USGA. Anything to make golf easier. Yeah, a lot of guys do that with putting. I don’t see it as much with driver. I always try to I’m a big fader. So I when I get steep, I kind of let go of that elbow. Got it. So that always See, George likes the flying right away. Yeah. I don’t know where the face is. Yeah, me either. I’m telling you, the driver I hit far, but the wedge it’s it’s interesting. I got a wedge lesson from Mark Blackburn and it was like the exact opposite of what George was telling me. It’s amazing how you’ll go see two two teaching pros who are like the best teaching pros and they will tell you like completely different [ __ ] It’s kind of amazing. It is insane. Yeah. I’m getting 117. Okay. Playing 18. 17 playing 18. Yeah. Going right Yeah. We’re not playing We’re not playing US Open golf. No. No. Scott Faucet today. No. He sends me the funniest [ __ ] text messages. That guy. He’s like, I can’t [ __ ] believe Bryson just hit [ __ ] three iron on three at Augusta. I couldn’t believe that either, honestly. Dude, also because like he kind of had his foot on Rory’s neck. Yeah, he had lead. He had the lead. He has the tea. If he hits a If he whacks driver up there by the green. Yeah. You know, and then Rory hit driver and made Ry. Yeah. And he made bogey. Yeah. Where’d he hit it? Rory. Yeah. Bryson. Bryson hit it up like a three iron up there next to Bunkers. It’s just such a hard wedge shot. It’s so narrow for a guy that’s not an amazing wedge player either. That’s kind of And short game’s disgustingly good. So just bomb it down there sense. And then if you That’s what Scott always says. It’s like you reassess. If you hit in a bad spot, just hit on the green, make your par. Oh, that’s more than a pace left. Get some sort of crazy kick. Nope. Close. All right, send it Lang. Yeah, I actually didn’t hate the ball flight. Just a big time pull. Just a big time pull. Oh yeah. Stop cutting. Bit close. There’s a little ridge over there. Yeah, I was say they bounce for sure. It’s probably only like 15 with the bounce. Like that. Feels more off the left now, Bucky. Yeah, that’s what I was saying. Aim a little left. Yeah, kind of bleeding in from that little fan. I like that. That one’s bleeding, too. Put your head up. Go. Okay, I got a better bounce. Got a good bounce. All right, one of us has got to go left of it. Yeah, we do. I went left of it, but not that far left of it. I’m just I’m getting ready I’m getting ready for my midam stroke play qualifier. You know what I mean? If I shoot even par one under. Where are you playing it? Yeah. Uh in Myrietta where uh Ricky Fowler’s from. Not a good spot. It’s not. It just smells. That’s the best line. Stick. Yeah. All right. Good shot, Buck. Boy, Buck. Thanks. So, is your name Buck or not? It’s It’s But I thought it was Michael. That’s like my legal name, but I’ve been called Buck since I was a newborn. Since you were a new So, that you were always Buck. I always Buck. Buck. O. I’m pin high. Buck. I think that’s you. It’s got that’s got to be buck definitely the farthest one. Yeah, this one’s me. Yeah, that’s weird. Took a big firm. Yeah, definitely got some bounce. Firm and then kind of slow. It’s an interesting combo. Only one of us is pinac and it’s it’s the old guy, the elder statesman. Guess I just hit mine too hard. All right, I’ll guinea pig for you guys. All righty. Any aim pointers? Not in this group. No. We got a freshman, Matt Maloney. He lives by it. Do you guys give Do you guys give him [ __ ] for it? We do. He like actually can’t see with his with his eyes. He like is fully convinced he can’t use his eyes. What percent? Cuz like on tour it’s like probably close to like 50. In college is it less more you think? Definitely less than 50. I think some guys kind of play with it but not as uh tour it’s like everywhere. Yeah. Not as catties are doing. Yeah. They’re making their caddy do it. This has got to be at least a foot, right? It’s got some Yeah, it’s going to turn at the end. It’s going to be straight for like the first couple feet. You thinking like uh like a a good foot on the right? Yeah, I think I like it rolling somewhere. Is that how you read them? Kind of right over spot. Yeah, I kind of split up. Starting at like somewhere in here, probably. That’s what I like, too. Okay. All right. Let me fix this. Come on, Danny boy. Do something special. Roll that. Show off that roller. Show off this roller. Too much brake. Oh man, it didn’t turn as much as I thought it would. Well, I just Yeah, I hit it pretty soft and that was just not a great putt. Got about right. I think it’s still probably two, right? Yeah. Oh god. Stay. That one broke a lot. All right, boys. All right, Lang. Let’s get right here. Get this piece of This is This is your time to shine, Lang. This is your the Langum is the nicest hotel in Chicago. Just telling you we need to go there. The Lang going to Illinois. That’s actually hilarious. Yeah, that’s where you stay. Break ball. Break. Break ball. Break. No way that didn’t go in. No way. No way that didn’t go in. All right, Buck. All right. Dang. You’ve gotten You know how it’s going to break. You’ve gotten three looks at it. It’s for a natural birdie. Natural birdie on the birds. All three of those did different things. Bars hurt us. Go. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. God, come on. I’m thinking in my head, this going to be a long [ __ ] day if this doesn’t go in. Come on now. Let’s go, boys. One red. One red. One red. High five around. All right. 3 what is it? 370 off this ski. 356 from here. We can get it pretty close up there. [ __ ] There’s some downwind. That’s what I was saying. We need a little gust. I don’t know if you have an extra gear, but if it’s time, this might be it. I’ve only hit it once and it was with B Todd, Brendon Todd, and he thought I was like Superman. I was going to say you probably hit a 100 by him. Isn’t it wild how what a career he’s had given He’s the best putter I’ve ever seen. Is that right? Yeah. It’s unreal. All right. Nice. Yeah. Very good swing. Wow. I’m striping it off the tea. Yeah, I’m loving it. That just going to be on the up slope. Yeah. Yeah, it’s perfect. I’ll be like, we’ll take it. 50 yard, 60 yard. Good start. So, when I want to hit a cut, Got it. This one will probably draw now that I said that. That’s the trick with YouTube. You never say it before. Exactly. It’s cutting. That cut right into the cart path. Cart path could help. Yeah. Nope. Oh, that didn’t sound like a car. No, that was lumber. All the way over into the mag. Holy crap. Get a double shot tracer on that one. Walked like 60 ft. Put a two T’s down this putter. Nice. Tiny. I couldn’t hit like a 10 foot gap in Yeah. putt with it and he just knocks him. Listen, when you when you’re limited like that distance-wise, you got to be [ __ ] perfect with everything else somehow. All right. I need that wind to show back up. Come on, win. High fade. Should be down off the left, eh? Yeah. hammered it. Where’d it go? It’s like left kind of holding that left crater. Yeah, just left of the We might be using Danny’s drive here. We might be. Oh, I might have stepped in front of that thing. That’s okay. I think that might be a good angle to that pin. Yeah, you’re just going to do everything possible to keep us from using one of mine, huh? I think we could have got close if I didn’t if that’s spinning. Do you guys always get numbers or do you kind of eyeball it from this far? I normally just eyeball it. Yeah, I’m a numbers guy. Really? The perfect line is like probably the right edge of the fan. It’s like 47. 47. That’s a good number. I got 47. Probably just like the right edge of the fan is where you want to be. 47 yards. You put the yards right here. Little graphic. 47 yards. Sit. Sit. Sit a little. Sit. That’s got to be deep, right? Yeah. It took a firm hop. Damn it. Everything’s so low and drivey. I’ll send it. Send. They got a some skip to Yeah. Like you got That sounded really firm. He made it in the sprinkler head though, so it stayed. These are the only bent gra in America that get firm when it’s warm out. Yeah. It’s crazy. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s cuz they punch so early. Sit. That’s got to That’s got to sit too, doesn’t it? Yeah. Bandit. All right, Paul. Me and you. Okay. That’s better. Yeah, it’s nice. That should be really good, right? That’s going to roll like a putt. Should add some check on it. He’s looking at it. He’s tough. He’s a tough critic. He doesn’t give He doesn’t like giving the thumbs. He doesn’t give us much. That’s a good one. That’s a good one. He’s just locked in. That’s all. Yeah, exactly. It’s a man about business. It’s fair. I say worse things in life. Nice corner. Thanks, George. Hey, Mr. Carter. People call you that? Is that the little Wayne? Yes. That’s before. Is that before your time? No. A little bit. Oh my god. I’ve never been a huge fan of those albums. I never listened to them. That’s just before your time, bro. I love Lil Wayne. I just never listen to them. Although I should. Carter 3 was like us smoking in cars in high school. Oh, that’s pretty. I cannot believe that that Mr. Carter before his time. One of those is going to be good. Good shot. Give us something. Yes. Thank you, Brian. Come on, Brian gave us something. Okay. Yeah. Nice buck. The stingiest camera guy in the world. Shot. Buck’s 200 through two. All right, Bucky, you finish off your birdie. Doing it for the cameras. Yeah, do it. No, Buck. We know we got to keep the same order. I do the All right, fair enough. He’s being charitable. Yeah. What a nice guy. He just wants to watch me miss Leslie’s taught you well. Yeah, I don’t have putters. Very nice. Come on. Definitely pulled it, but it’s No, it don’t matter. Okay. Two. We’re in it, baby. Let’s go. We’re on pace. You guys ever seen these guys? Jason Day put me on these. I’ve got really bad ADHD. Like I can’t Yeah. Sometimes I’ll play a round of golf and I’m like, I haven’t looked at the hole or the ball in eight holes. So he he designed this thing. Yeah. Basically just like gives you something to look at. Kind of interesting. I grew up playing golf with Boo Weekly. Okay. He works with my swing coach. He loves those things. Really? And you need them. You got to have them. Yeah. I mean, I I think it’s like a very personal thing, but I a lot of the times I’m standing over a putt and I’m like, “What am I looking at?” I used to draw a green dot on the top of my ball really to stare at you. It quiets your eyes down. I used to put dots like back behind anything. So, I would try to hit it with driver, you know what I mean? Like Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, Cameron Smith, you know, most guys who line it up, they line it this way. He does his the other way and he tries to like roll it. It’s kind of strange. He rolls it okay, though. Yeah. That was a good shot by you right there. [Music] What’s our line here? Like right where it right where the rough meets the honestly savor the left and everything kind of funnels that way too. So might start tucking my Yeah, do it. It adds about 10 miles. George George will fire me if I do that. Hang kick right. It’s close. Missed that limb. That’s fine. Fine. Yeah, that’s fine. It’s just in the rough, though. Yeah. One of you is going to do better than that. I hope that’s good, right? Nice. Yeah, maybe just That’s when That’s when you’re you play a lot and you’re not just petrified of a water hazard. Oh, it still bothers us. You got to just ignore it. Yeah. This C shot used to give me fits when I couldn’t hit the ball left to right off the te hitting it where I hit it all day. I hit more slidy tea balls into this freaking tree right here. Yeah, that’s not a good one. I mean, nice. Pretty George. Very good, George. Nice. Do it. I don’t even think I need to hit. Yes, you do. Turtle. Miss me with that false. Good job, Georgie. Humility. Proud of you. You freed me up. Willie Wilcox told me that humility is a mental illness. Not wrong. I agree with it. Stuck with me forever. Yeah, that guy’s swinging is so sick. I play a lot of He’s one of my best friends. We play a lot of golf together. He’s a [ __ ] riot, that guy. Yeah, him and Sanjay are the funniest pair. Yeah, they got to be. Oh my gosh. See you. That is an absolute missile. Boom. You can’t hit it much better than that. No, that was a good one. Yeah, I’d say that was a good one. Okay, we’re using that one. Yeah. And we have pitching wedge. I think we’re using that one. All right. I can’t see the I can’t see the flag. That’s probably by design. 86 83. It’s It’s out off this way across the pond. It’s over the water. Okay. Well, that’s probably Dude, I was I thought this was a dog leg left. Yeah, that’s good to know. So 86 84 86 playing 84. I don’t know if it actually plays down. Kind of firm. 86 84. That pin looks like it’s back. What’s the cover on that on that? Uh, is it like 75 or is it like 72? I would guess probably high 60s. I think I’m just going to hit full seven, which goes like 77. It’s about 70 to cover. Yeah, 70 covers. It also Those are my California yardages. It goes a little further here cuz it’s warm. Okay. I think it’s just for me again. I’m I’m going to just set us up here. I’m going to try to go seven iron and split the two. Split the fan and the That’s the line. That’s my Scott faucet. Yeah. off the left, but it feels down off the right. I don’t feel much at all. Oh, Danny, I got way out in front of it. Go. I don’t know if that carried. I don’t think it did. Went to the liies. Yeah. Oh, that was a poor golf swing. It’s fine, though. Damn it. I keep putting you on these side slopes. No, it’s okay. It’s not your fault, my friend. Oh, no. It’s Hang on. You got a chance. Hang on. Okay. Yeah, it’s dry. It’s fine. It’s the right distance. Well, we got to make three from the spot. What’ you make? I chipped a six. Chipped a six. I’m going to chip a seven. Terrible tors. It’s dry, baby. It is dry. That’s my partner. You’re right. Lanceoft Hotel. Yes. Yeah, George. I did it, George. Golf shot. Thank you. It’s it’s it’s playing probably 80 80 85. You think it’s off the left or off the right? I think it’s almost straight into like from here. Straight into you, Bucky. All righty. Draw. Missed it. Spinning a little bit. Good shot, George. All right. All right. All right. We got George’s. Yeah, George is on the board. I’m on the board. Shot always has such an awkward angle to it. This one? Mhm. It’s a good second shot. Just going to go right at the end. This thing does a little bit does a little bit of everything to be honest. It’s hard to read. Be pretty slow. My first instinct, I almost thought it might go left. I think it’s going left. And I think the last couple rolls might straighten out, maybe even go right. I’m going to play it pretty straight. I like straight. I don’t think it’s going to do much. Yeah. At my club, we call this putt a rat in a drain pipe. Just [ __ ] hammer that thing like a rat in the drain. I honestly think you’d have better luck just hitting it straight. That’s what I’m saying. I’m just going to try to hit it straight and bang it for you guys. Just give it a chance, Danny. No poito. That thing is pure. Yeah, it is right. Yeah, it did go left. Okay. You got a good look though. Yeah, right edge Bucky. I mean, I think you could even play it inside if you hit it with pace. Yeah, it’s like inside right. Yeah, I’m not very good at the pace thing, though. It’s a good putt. Yes, Carter. Here we go. Carter’s on the board. The whole squad. Yes. I thought it ain’t going to be no shut out. The whole squad. We got three. Four for four through three. Four through three. Let’s go. Really good start. Exactly what we want. Really good start. Let’s set a record. Big trouble. That set a record. Those Auburn boys are shaking. They might can win the SE championship. But they didn’t win it. No, they won last year. That’s what I meant. You guys fish down here? Yeah. So, we met this wonderful guy behind the camera yesterday while we were down here fishing. Yeah, it just so happened. Yeah. This is the This is the honey. This is a good spot. It’s the honey hole right here. Right here and over there. This is my spot. Nobody else can fish here. But Buck has laid ownership of this. This is mine. All right. Do you have to let him go or can you cook him for dinner? I don’t think cooking for dinner would be the best uh best idea. Well, there’s a little fertilizer. Yeah. Chemicals from a golf course. Not good. Yeah. It’s a little sketch. You’re right. It’s not exactly organic. No, not not the freshest water. The reason Buck hits it so far is cuz he ate a crappie out of Carterville pond. Is that right? Steroids, baby. Give you superpowers. He woke up the next morning and was swinging at 1:30. Almost grew a third eye. Yeah. And a third leg. It’s like your Spider-Man story. Yeah, exactly. Sick. Got a little bit of the grass growing formula in me and all of a sudden I’m swinging at [Music] 127. 91 81 to cover. 91 is playing 87. So you pretty much just want to land it a couple yards short. All right, we’re four under uh four under through three. We’re off to a very, very good start. We got to keep it going. The par threes are always the challenge here in this tournament. Got to keep the pedal down. R3’s on this side are kind of tough, too. Yeah. Keep turning. I like that. Get down a little. Yeah. Say it. Might need to sit just a tad. There’s that back stop there. Come back. Ooh, that was close. Oh, that was like Did it stay up there? Yeah. There’s a little piece of flat fridge. Oh man, I hit that pure as hell. That was a really good swing. I hit that pure. What’d you hit? Six. Yeah, that’s about 190, but that probably I hit that hard. I probably went like 192. Okay. Yeah. Oh, no. Cart path. Delete that one, please. Cut. Good number. All right. Cut. One yard. One yard. Just forget that I hit that golf shot. It’s okay. We’re human, Paul. We’re human. We’re human. Come on. Up all my good shots last like five days. Did you play solid at SEC’s? Played pretty good. Yeah. Couple of days. Yeah. Oh, Langum. The Langum. Go in. Do it, George. Go in the langum. Go in. Come back. That’s got to get better, right? Yeah, it’ll come back a little bit. No way. It stays there. No, it’s coming back. Very good. Lang is dialed with the Give me some SG approach, my friend. Georgie, you can get eight over that bunker. I don’t know. I might as well go for the one, eh? You’re I never have. So, where Yeah, we’re in a good spot, right? I mean, you probably have like six feet. Yeah. How far you think you carried that, George? I probably carried right at like 88 90. Hang. All right. Overdrew it. It’s got to go, doesn’t it? No, it’s there. Okay. Left side of the green. Get a little better, too. Shot, Bucky. That was a hell of a T- shot. Yeah, it was very nice, George. Thank you. Swing. Thank you. Hey, you got a lot of potential, kid. Yeah. Thank you. You know what, George? This is called a birdie. You make it. So, what you’re about to do is called a birdie. Yeah, George. If this goes in the hole, you take one away from your score in relation to par. And that’s and that’s good. It’s what you want in this game. So, make sure this one goes in. So, you do you do that 20 times and you keep your bogeies to a minimum and you might win the tournament. Yeah, that’s like a like the right edge or more. Half a cup. More. Okay. Give a little bit. Half a cup. Hit it right here. I like it. That’s a lot more than right edge. I always see this like right here. Like I like it just inside this blade of grass. Yeah. All right. Get that pace down. This was for 50 back. Bad caddy. Bad caddy. I mean, that’s it’s dead straight. Dead straight. No, George. Left edge or right? Maybe not that right edge. Don’t spread misinformation. Seriously, it’s an epidemic. It’s a team effort here. That’s a good bud. Yeah, I actually thought we rip one in that one. You hit it. I thought it was crazy. Very good. That’s the lab right there, baby. That was pretty. Five through four, baby. Come on. Five through four. Let’s go. Let’s go. UG. You hit a good fight. Do you guys bark or is that a little too far? They’re really hardcore fans, dude. Have you seen uh what’s his name? Uh Speed. He barks all the time. He barks. This guy’s an animal. He’s so [ __ ] funny. Boys, we’re off to a pretty ideal start. Great start. This is very nice. Five under through four. When you guys did break 50, how many was it just two of you? All three, but we play a different course. That’s what we’re saying. This one’s probably We could maybe do it here. Yeah, cuz it’s a little open. Like Adam Country Club was tight and the greens are so firm and fast. Making the two there was huge. That’s a big two. And we made And we made a three on the par five, too. We’re off to a really, really good start. Couldn’t ask for a better start. Put on one was It just shows momentum, man. Yeah. If that putt doesn’t go in on one, we might be already behind. We might be one under right now. Exactly. Mhm. Bombs away here. Just kind of at that bunker. Yeah, that left bunker. Hangs on. It’s fine. Take good. Good kick. Yeah, it’s chilling actually. It’ll kick left. Yeah, weird. That was like the pro miss where it’s like it’s kind of going right. But it didn’t didn’t slice. Can’t wait to get into my title list though. Yeah, cannot. That’s what I got. GT’s sick. Yeah, that’s what I got. They put me in way more loft to get some [ __ ] I’m so low in low spin. Yeah, beauty. Like I can chip. So it’s like if I if I can just keep it in play, I’m going to win, you know? I’m going to be a club club club demon problem. Yeah. You ever played club championships when you were like growing up and stuff? Yeah, I played I played mine. Did you win it? Yeah, I’m a three-time champ. Had a boy. Mhm. You’re about to be ineligible though, right? Once you turn pro How many time What age did you play your club championship up until I played it when I was I played it five times. Got second twice. Beautiful. Won three times. Who beat Who clipped you? There’s a guy named Chad Branton uh at my club. He’s always been a good mid am. He’s like a senior am now. Got it. But he uh wore you down. Yeah, he won it like six years in a row or something. Great. Good player, dude. He drives it nice. Really good swing, Bucky. Thank you. He drives it really nice. See you ball. See why I like to hit driver. Yeah. Got to hit it everywhere. 85 playing 89. Okay. It’s nice. You never heard of cutter and buck? I have. Yeah. Well, my my best friend from home that we live with wants to make butter and park. That’s what I thought you said. No, I thought he was shouting out Parker’s clothing brand. It’s crazy how many golf clothing brands there are now. Everybody’s got one. How much have you guys practices like inside 150 or almost all of it? Yeah. Yeah. We don’t spend much time hitting drivers or Do you guys have like a little greens you can hit at? We have uh concrete plates that go from 50 to 100 and then we do a lot of those Trackman combines where they do the step spit out the number. Yeah, spit out the number. Do you guys do like a use like a clock system or how do you do it? Just feel it out. I just use feel it. Mine’s kind of stance dependent like how wide my stance is and how much I choke up on it, but I don’t do a clock system. I did a thing with Jake Knap last week and he said that he uses energy. He goes, “This is an 8.5 energy, 7.8 8 energy. I’d never heard that before. Oh my god. Yeah, that’s a different one. Us California guys are a little weird. Clock wouldn’t get complicated for me. My swing coach um says that it’s easier with like really high caliber players. It’s they’re better at swinging a mile an hour than hitting a golf ball a carry number. You practice it for like a week as a high caliber player. Like he starts you out at like 62 miles an hour. Okay. And you can do it within five swings. And then that’s a number you keep going. Yeah. You got to have consistent launch like dynamic launch. That’s what it really goes down to. Yeah. All right. What did you say was 82 playing 88? 80. Yeah. 85 playing 88. Okay. Looks pretty. It’s got to sit. Sit. Feel like that’s probably a little deep. Might be a touch deep. Yeah. He turned back. Turned around. Might be a pretty hard pin to get to wedge tampon. I’m going to try to skip this. I like that. If it’s like that one that’s right over the ridge, then I think it would be perfect. It looks like that’s what it is. Yeah. I like that. That’s too hard. Landing up slope. Golly. Took a club extra and forgot to swing soft. All right, that was a Ned. Yeah, Lang, it’s right on top of that ridge. Yeah, that one looks pretty good. Still a little skip. We’ll see. That might be short, right? Yeah. Nothing from Brian. Brian’s impressed. I’m going to get it in this better grass. I thought y’all were long, so I was like, “All right, that one’s short.” That one didn’t look like it took. What’ you hit? I’m going to try to hit a spinny 90. See if it’ll stop. Go a different way. Yeah. Yeah. Little high spinny one. That’s different. Let’s see. Oh, that’s got to be good, right? Lucky. Should be good, right, Brian? Nothing. Nothing. All right. That one looks like I feel like that’s the best one. Make a putt. Maybe might have to roll one in. Thanks, P. Got to be a friend of the course. Yes, sir. Leave it better than you found it. Shout out Caleb Manuel. That’s got to be you, Buck, right? Yeah, I think so. Sling Bucky. Cutter and Buck. Once again, that was big. It’s pretty It’s pretty hilly out here. Yeah, it’s golf course. Kind of reminds me of AU club, honestly. I can see that. There’s definitely some similarities. I’ve never played there before. AU? Yeah. I Isn’t it private? I went out there. I think it is private. Yeah, it is. They’re kind of a recent thing, right? Like they weren’t that good historically. Auburn. Yeah. Um they’ve always been They’ve had good players. They’ve never really been good as a team. Yeah. Coach Kleiner. Yeah. They’ve been killing it though. You see from over there, George. I don’t see much. I don’t see much. Right center. Yeah, definitely inside the hole. Yeah. Carter, you want to you want to take it home for us? I don’t I Is it It should just be dead straight, right? Yeah. Yeah. I like that. Square to square. See if the technology works. Yeah. Right. Yeah. That’s what me and George were whispering. You thought it was going to go right. Should have called town out. I literally like looked at it and I was like, “Fuck it. I’m just going to put it in there. Just do it.” Left edge, Dan. Left edge. Maybe inside. Carter didn’t hit it with much pace. I was in the back. I think it’s the audio. I was like, “Check.” Yeah. I saw you guys. You guys were both I literally looked at it down there, too, and I was like, “This is so not going left.” He’s cheating. Yes. Roll that lab. Roll that thing, baby. It’s another one. Keep it going. I love this thing. Yeah, I’d make love to this thing if they let me. I need to get a butt. Yeah, I know. I haven’t made one whole day. Just in case you guys have to. Yeah. Yeah. But thanks. Yeah. Nice little guy. You’re saying this thing where it’s like the grip goes in like kind of weird. Yeah, exactly. Cuz they don’t have Yeah. This one’s just straight. Yeah. They make different like shapes of this thing now, don’t they? Yeah. Yeah. [Music] This t-shot’s in my head already. This t-shot’s just fully in my head already. You got it. We got to work on your selft talk. I know how much time you have. That’s trouble, isn’t it? Um, if it hangs on, it could be okay. I mean, I was just so defeated before I even hit it. You know what I mean? Close. I got s I got sad over the tail over the ball. Can’t be doing that, Denny. It’s pretty ballsy that we all have driver on. No, we’re playing a scramble. There’s a reason why I have this uh iron over here. What can go wrong, though? The one iron. This T- shot looks a lot tighter when there’s leaves on the trees. Yeah, it does. Oh, that’s true. Yeah. Driver’s a lot more inviting in the winter time. Yeah, cuz it goes through that left side. I think that did get through though. I didn’t hear anything. Yeah, it’ll be close. The pin’s the hole out pin. The back pin. Nice. There it goes. Hang them. All right, George. Let’s go get him. I hit something. Oh, lumber. What’s your low out here out here? Um 62 one day. Pretty low. I’m qualifying. That might have been I lost the guy on my cart, Trent Phillips. What? You shot 61? Yeah. Well, they have like pins on the red teeth or something. No, they were just normal day out here. We just fed off each other one day. Sick. Yeah, that’s what I needed to see. George, I love that. Good swing. Yeah, George is flushy. Swing, bro. Thanks. I messed up the shot, Tracer. It’s okay. Oh, so did I. $25. It’s right down the middle. Don’t worry. You guys are running up today. This ain’t bad. This ain’t good. I’m broke. Dollar beers. Dollar beers are cutters. Yeah. Yeah. Where do I even hit this, George? Uh, you can go over the tree. Like go over the left tree. I’m not much of a drawer. Doesn’t have to draw. All right. My foot slipped. Sit. Hit something. George is in Got us. We’re going to be fine. All we need is one, boys. That’s right. I do not like That’s the first time I’ve ever hit driver on this hole. Yeah, I don’t really do that very often either. I was about to make a a joke. Me and Buck were guy 99 and 100 left against the gorilla. You’re the gorilla. What do you guys think about that? Gorilla wins. 100 people. 100 people win. No. Versus a gorilla. Yeah. You haven’t seen this gorilla? Yeah, dude. Gorilla’s taking Gorilla is going to grab you and he’s just going to swing you around in circles. You couldn’t touch the helic maybe. But if you had to have picked the hundred. Well, I’m thinking like a different argument. Do the hund get to strategize also before cuz I feel like there’s strategy involved. And if you circle them and all just collect I don’t know. I do these right. I think you could take two heads and just mash them against each other. There’s no weapons or anything? No, they’re [ __ ] You’re thinking gorilla. No problem. It’s a little gory, but you’re going to take guy one. Just take his turn. Okay. Left side of the rake. It’s a big bowl. Is it all the way back there? Yeah, it’s all the way back there. Literally, everything funnels to the flag. If you just get If you miss it right of the rake, it might come down and be like a foot. Pulled it. God damn it. That’s so far over the green. It has a chance. Oh, it’s a horrendous golf shot. Might have caught the fringe over there. Holy bad is that bad. I think he’s still filming. I think it might have came down. Oh, yeah. I think it’s in the hole. That’s good. Right there. Yeah, that should be good. Should have gotten back there. Nice, P. Thanks. Swing. I like it. I like filming it, which I like. Little half yard draw. That was drawk. That was nice. Thank you. It’s about the first golf shot I’ve hit where I’ve wanted to today. Good. One’s better than two. Six. I like that one too. Very good. George, I think that one’s going to be really nice. Nice. Let’s see. It’s pretty. Yes, George. I don’t even want to Brian. I want to I want to be surprised. The Langum Hotel. The Langum Hotel. George. The Langum. Langum. I got to work on the second part. Oh, that’s got to be good. I think that’s got the best line. One would think that was the most left side of the of the rake. Nice. Yeah. Swing, Bucky. Yeah, Bucky. We gave it a chance to go in. Four looks, we should be able to make it happen. You took the line off the top of that thing. I did. You like the just the naked look. I I for the longest time I like lined up the ball really fat and lined it up with my putter and I just freed. It’s more freeing when you’re putting with nothing. Yeah. Get a little athletic with it. Yeah. This going to fall, right? Yeah. Has to. Yeah. You think it’s like a ball out with some pace or more? Yeah, I like that. I think that’ll have a chance. I think it’s kind of similar to that one on 12, honestly. Yeah. Pulled it. Oh, Danny, that was a bad stroke. I think it’s a ball. Didn’t give you guys much there. Sorry. I think it’s left edge pace, right? God, a good putt. Quite straight at the hole, isn’t it? Left edge pace, L. Yeah, I like it. We’re getting closer and closer. We’re inching in. Thank god we hit putts on the last. It’s slow. Yeah. Go. Oh my gosh. You might have done that. Yeah. Bucky. Bucky. Wow. Here we go. What? I just ran out of pace. That was a good one. Hit it. Go. Go. Oh no. Oh my goodness. It took a look and said no. Wow. Wow. That was right in the jar. [ __ ] Bucky. That was a good putt. Good roll. I don’t think it’s going in. No, that sucks. All right, first par. Okay, we just got a bird. We just got a bird. The part five. We couldn’t do anything about Wow. I thought that was going in. Yeah, except for me. Short and scramble is what I’m doing out here. That wasn’t your best. That wasn’t your best. The line was right. We’ll give you a break on that one, Bucky. Yeah, you’ve done enough. You hit every single ball. You’ve done enough. What do you say the actual was? 70 77 down to 66. Okay. About 57 covers online with it. You hit eight. I can’t get eight there. I don’t think so. I’m going to have to chip a seven. Oh, I pulled it again. Don’t move deep, too. It’s like back left. like that. Yeah, that’s pretty swing. Thank you. That’s very pretty. Oh, yeah. Very good. Carter boy Carter. That’s big. Mr. Carter. He had no idea what that was. That was right. I did know. He’s like, “Is that is that Lil Wayne?” I didn’t know. I just had to double check before I soundtrack of my adolescence. Around the world, we’re back. Yeah. You know the song Mrs. Officer? Yeah, that’s on car three. Didn’t cut. It’s cutting a little. Come back. I might end up closer than mine. Back. Uh, it’s stuck. Ah, want softs. Yeah, I think it’s just I almost want to hit a nine. Smooth eight. You want to hit nine? I almost do, but I mean that was really soft. That’s still long. Yeah, I’m going to cut an eight. Cut it off the bunker. Yep. Sit. Cut. Sit. Spin. Ah, didn’t listen. All right. Good shot. What is it? A little deep. Yeah, just f just a second. Oh, yeah. That was lovely. What is that little pre-shot move you do with this? It’s um for the like this whole spring I kind of had a problem with like stacking up on my front side the the whole time. Okay. So, that gets me behind it and then I can turn through it. Got it. Do you feel that when you swing? Yeah. I try to feel like Johnny. Like you lift your left toe up. Uh I probably don’t, but it’s like what I think about Fielder’s real. Carter is telling me you guys get to go play Augusta, huh? We do. Once a year. Yep. How good is that? Pretty sick. Do they put that on the calendar for you guys to like make sure you’re school in order. You got to make no D’s. It’s a C’s and above and you get to go. So that makes us work hard. It sounds really petty. Yeah. But accounting at Georgia and finance at Georgia really while you’re traveling. No, it’s a that’s like a real that’s real class. Yeah. So that’s the motivation. Yeah, that’s the motivation to No, typically like per semester you got one class you’re sweating out. Yeah. Okay. Like I had finance I made a 70.13 in finance this semester. My tea time at Augusta. I’m safe for now. My sophomore year I made a 96 on my accounting final to make a 70.02 in my accounting class. And that got you to got me Augusta. That’s the real drama. The best feeling ever. That’s the real drama. That’s amazing. The thing’s on. What did you shoot? What’s your You’ve played four times now then. I played three. I missed it my first year. I shot 68. Tipped out my Was that my our junior year, me and you? Yeah, I played with you. You shot. It was impressive. It was very impressive. It was one of the better rounds of my life. You beat Jeff? I had won 300 and 11. Jeff played the member TE’s. So, you were mashing it. Yeah. Yeah. We played the tournament TE’s, but I Yeah, that’s crazy. 68 at Augusta. What do you Where were the birdies? I played I birdied I birdied 11 all three times I played it. That’s your hole? Yeah. So I birdied 11, 13, 14, 15, and 16. Oh, so you got it going? Yeah, I had it I got hot. I think I shot even on the front then four on the back. Sick. So yeah, that was dope. That’s amazing. What number that day, too? Yeah, it was like 40 raining. What time of year do you guys usually go? February. Beginning of February. Mhm. All right. What do we think here? It looked pretty straight from that side. It’s like right on a spine. I think it’s got to go that way. I think honestly. Did you mark it on it or I don’t know Mark on it, George? I marked it. It’s I barked it to the right. Okay, good. You think it’s a little You think it’s left center? I’m gonna look at it again from back here. I would say left center. You’re pretty. Yeah, I think like I think left center might be edge, but I would guess center. Pulled it the whole way though. You could see it was like it was like left edge the whole way. I like I like Yeah. inside left edge. Just getting in there. Just getting in there. Yeah, he just throws the ball. He goes outside. I yanked that. You straight. Did I just aim it over there? Give me a George saying you aim that way. I’m sure inside the hole. Yeah, inside the hole. George, that’s the only thing about this thing is I have a tendency to just aim left. All right, let’s focus, boys. I get with the labs, too. Everything of that center shaft, I aim left. Everything else about it. That’s what I thought. Come on. You think the center shot aims you left a little bit? I do with mine. You think you pulled those? You were aimed right. They do set a little left, huh? I always have to watch that. I’ll notice I’ll notice that. Yeah. [Music] All right. We are seven seven under through seven. So, we got to bury these last two to set the record. Yep. Yep. You said this this hole turns like 90° right to left. So, we’re trying to hit it kind of just left of center up here. Mhm. You’re going to go over the trees. I’m going to try to. Okay. The bucket line. It’s a long par five. It’s usually driver 3wood. If I can get a good one, I can get us like six iron, five iron. I’m going to try to hit a hot hook. Do it. Not that hot. What are you doing? You think you’re Tiger Woods? It’s all right. That’s a hot hook. You You called the shot, but like that’s not That’s a snap. That’s a Maybe we were going for a high hook. That’s a snap hook. It’s just like what do you do you Sometimes I get up there and sometimes I feel like I’m not going to hit it in the fairway and then sometimes I feel like Tiger Woods. Kind of amazing. That’s good, right? Yeah, that’s nice. Good shot. That’s going to take I think all of us to get it. Well, that’s what we do. That’s what we do in the scramble team. We find fairways. Allow Bucky to do Bucky. 250 260 out. You can definitely reach from there. Very nice, George. Beautiful, isn’t it? That’s very good. That’s the good line. Out of boy, George. What do you mean, kid? The leg. Free buck up. All right. Free buck. Nice. Wow. Come on. Is it go that far left? Yeah. That’s money spot. Another $5. That’s with that T-shot. You could do it every single time. That’s going to kick, too. That was unbelievable. Holy crap. You don’t see this on a golf course every single day. No, you do not at all. Been here for a long time. 1788. It’s got a little gate over there. You can, you know, family members can come visit. I wonder what those small ones are. The small ones over here. Think they’re like pets or do you think I don’t know. I don’t know. They don’t I’ve never seen Do they say anything? They have Yeah, 56. G CC. This is lost to history, man. No idea. Those have That’s CGC. That has initials on it. Wonder if those are youngans. I hope not. I hope it’s not either, but your mind your mind just went to a dark place. Yeah, I mean what? I don’t know. No, you’re right. It’s small graves. Yeah, it’s interesting. Crazy though. It’s kind of hidden up here. Yeah, you guys got some history. Yeah, this is uh George Lang’s ball. And then if you see about 100 yards down that way, they made a Walmart. And then there’s my golf ball on the other side. The Walmart joke. The Walmart joke. I’m included in that, too. Yeah, I was Carter’s back there in Raport. It’s another 100. They put a Langum Hotel between your ball. Yeah. Oh, it’s low. Carries. It might be really good. It might actually work. That’s going to that’s going to roll through. I mean, it’s going to be in the back rough. It’ll be okay, but it’s fine. Carter softer shafts. I don’t like messing up the juju. All right. Oh, is it me? Yeah. You got eight? Yeah. I’m You’re going to hit nine, right? Yeah. Yeah. You ever hit nine iron in this hole? Not Not often. I usually have three wood. Sometimes it’s your driver. Yeah. I’m punching it right at the green and chipping down. So that’s a good pen for this hole. Yeah. It’s probably the hardest one to make 32. Yeah. But it’s a good flag. Nice. Mhm. Really good, Carter. Thank you. Might go in. Oh, yeah. Carter might go in. Very nice. Like it. Yes, Carter. Here we go. Come on now. We’re coming alive. Come on. Hell yeah. Cut him. Lang him. I feel like that might have I don’t know if I can though. It’s took a ginormous hop. I think that’s really good. Just don’t know how much space we have left of it. Lands soft. It’s like trying to draw. Kind of like that one actually. It’s a lovely flight. Driver 9 iron. Yeah, lovely flight. It’s a shame it’s 50 yards right. Yeah. Is that I almost say I get wedged or tier. Turtle. Yeah. It’s a lovely flight. It’s a lovely fly. Yeah. I like the one where he goes he looks his cat. He goes that is that the worst golf shot you’ve ever seen? No. Answer the question. Yeah. The ones of his like wife coming out of the portaotties. So that’s my lighting. He wants to scream so bad. Oh, he’s so funny. I think I can get wedged there. Do it. You think you can get wedged there? You’re showing off now. No. What do you say? 60s if it gets there. Yeah, 60 is going to be perfect. This is a joke. Especially off a side slope. Yeah, it’ll come off pretty hot. This guy’s a joke. Get back there. Skip. Oh, so close. Five more yards. He just wanted to hit driver wedge and throw a 550 yard par five. That’s what he wanted to do. All right, boys. Good. He’s hitting nine iron there all day. 100%. It’s okay. Don’t believe the antics. We’ll allow it though. We can drip one in here. We can definitely There’s a funnel right here. I’ll promise you that. So, it’s pretty good kick. Pins left, so that should be fine. Yeah, I like that little swing, George. Nice little Carter. Little bleeder. Little bleeder. George Carter. Same guy. It’s kind of a little more than usual today. Better than going left. That’s definitely the better of the left. Nice. Yeah, George. That’s good. That had no spin. He’s got British open game. This guy that has no spin. That was pretty towy. Did you crack that driver? No. Swing speed. Uh, I could have this for the rest of my life. Strong mother. Not going to be cracking drivers in my game. He’s a strong man. Shot. Wow. Beautiful. Harley swing. Thank you. That’s it. I don’t know. Lang might have got me with that. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. 5,000 RPM. To see about that one. That was an impressive impressive driving display. What did I say BMW? That’s what I’m good for, Dave. Impressive driving display. The ultimate driving machine. That’s what I meant. Trackman just puked. I need some old man gloves. These are like for you guys. I don’t really know much about tang. I’m just saying more the shaft I think. And these these are all these are also blanked up and we have one flat. Totally different. Just looks different. Yeah. Get this here. I’ve always liked how flat looked. I always kind of bounc wedge. Yeah. I choked it. I think I get 52 over bridge. It’s very gonna be very nice. That’s pretty. Oh, that got a good kick. The Langum played his ball today. Come on, Georgie. Come on, boys. Swing. If that went in, I’ll buy you a night at the Langum. Is there a Is there a regional in? That’s like $1,000. Is there Is there a regional in Chicago? Yeah, that’s where we think we’re going. That’s not close. That’s not close to Chicago, unfortunately. It’s like four hours away. Ah, down state. We’ll just send George on a George Send him on a mission. Spa go watch game or something little side quest. Spa night. Yeah, they do. They light the lightning. Oh, Bucky had to do it to us. Kick left. All right, those all should Why do you think you’re going to Illinois? Just like a hunch. Like you do like a little M. Our coaches have been doing it for so long that they’ve like almost mastered the formula for like where they going. So they think you’re going and will Illinois be there? Um Yeah, they should. I think that’s how they do it. They lost sight is going there. Yeah, I think like the host gets to play there if they make it. Yeah. Yeah. So you guys course, is it? Yeah, they have their own course. Yeah. Yeah. All right. All righty. Let’s go make a putt. Let’s take us home or let’s see if one of us made it. We got to beat those Texas boys. No, we talked about I think it’s if it’s 100 fit men, it’s 100 guys. A gorilla is going to pick you up and spin your There’s 100 others. There’s 99 others. Yeah, but he’s going to take you and just like use as a weapon. Of course 10. Look, I mean that guy that you got to sacrifice who you know that gorilla is going to take you by the ankle and slam you back and forth like this and everybody else is going to be like, I don’t know about that one. You give me like Aaron Donald and Jon Jones. a wide range of humans, you know what I mean? Yeah. Nice shot, P. You cut me. Let’s go. Get a couple of those big sumo wrestlers. Let Dan finish it off. Yeah, I would love to. All right, I got to set the scene here, guys. We are eight under par, 38 holes. We got this putt to set a new record on Scratch University to pass the Texas Longhorns. Setting up a rivalry. Yes. This is outside the hole, isn’t it? I think just outside with a little bit of pace. Be somebody, Danny. Do it one time. Be somebody, Danny. Just be somebody. Whose approach was this? Carter got me by like an inch. Carter about time. Yeah. Had to let you have it. God damn it. Hooked. That snapped. Wow. I really wanted that moment. Didn’t deserve it, though. Got to earn it here, George. I’m not going to lie, this is kind of a sketchy one. Yeah, it just breaks. You saw mine. Fall out. All right. Pace. I actually hit a decent putt. Yeah, that was a good one. Good roll. Okay. Holy cow. Okay. Let’s lock in, boys. Let’s lock in. That’s ridiculous. Yeah, that is crazy. It’s like, let’s lock in out here, dude. Yeah. I was going to say a cup. You got it, Lang. Yeah. Don’t put it on me. Bucks had Bucks had enough pressure today for a night at the Langum. Yep. What did that way? There’s no way. There’s no way that one hit something through here. Oh my god. Not this. Not this. Not this. Not this. There’s no way. Not this. Not this. That’s such a cob. Yeah. I mean, y’alls broke. No. Please. No. I mean, this is what Texas has to have happen. Why am I actually kind of It’s not over. It’s not over. Really? And they’re not beating us. It would tie us. That’s true. This is going to go in. Bucky. Buckyy’s made for this moment. I got it. Come on, Bucky. I’m queuing the music in the video. It’s building. It’s building. The music’s going. Ball and a half with pace. Yeah. Prunlo for glory. 6′ 6 in. He’s got it. Never a doubt. Let’s go. Let’s go. The first hole and the last hole. Let’s go, man. Come on, boy. We weren’t going to miss all those. We weren’t going to miss all those. Good stuff. Nine under par through nine holes. It’s a new record. Bucky saved the day many times, but on the first hole in the nine hole especially. That was fun, boys. That was really fun. Thanks for having a dog. No, not a single. We’re not none of this going on. No, that was good, Paul. That was a good one, Paul. All right, Coach Hack, it’s a beautiful day here in Athens, Georgia. Uh, story program. You’ve been at the helm for almost 30 years now. What’s the state of Georgia golf? Young, but but uh getting better every day. I I really like this group of guys we have going uh for us right now, but future’s bright. We got great pipeline of recruiting going on and I think the state of Georgia golf is strong. You guys have an incredible presence in professional golf. That was kind of my uh impression of Georgia before coming here. We just walked through the facility here, the Boyd facility. You’ve got, you know, Bubba Watson, you’ve got I think there was eight guys in the Masters this year. Why do you think you guys have produced so many professionals? Well, I’d like to say it was me, but um but really and truly, I think we just we just get the right guys and put them in the right environment of being competitive and playing and and really having to earn your way into the lineup. And I think that just toughens them up and and gets them ready for the tour because as you well know, when you make it to the PJ tour, there are no guarantees of anything. You got to play well every every week, every every year. And you know, keeping your card is not easy. So, I think we just kind of toughened them up that way. I got a couple texts this morning from from tour pros. They knew I was coming down here. It seems like they they stay connected with the program. Are they are they kind of present? Do they help these guys? Yeah, they they all stay connected. I I always say I think we’ve got the greatest golf fraternity in golf because these guys all do stay connected. You know, a lot of them uh will stay and travel together and stay in houses together. We were at the SEC last week and uh you know Harris English and Davis Thompson both came out during the practice round and walked around with us because they were taking the week off and on any given SEC week when guys are in town, they’ll all come out. Um so I they do stay connected. They all love Georgia. They all were Bulldogs at heart and it makes one of the biggest points of pride that we could have is that they all loved being in Athens, Georgia. All [Applause] right, we did very well today, boys. But I want to see us dial the wedge game in. I thought there was a there, you know, we left a few out there. So, let’s see if we can hit this damn helmet over there. What do you say? Let’s see it. Send it, Bucky. You got You had enough practice already. Let’s see it. What’s the wind, Dan? The wind is straight into, but it’s it’s hard to tell in this stadium. I will say it swirls in the stadium. The flags aren’t doing anything. Flags aren’t doing anything. About 100 yards by my math. Oh no. Oh, I need a little holes behind us. Dan, it was off the right. It was off the fault. It’s always Dan’s fault. We were teammates earlier, boys. What happened to our camaraderie? Oh, that could do it. Lang, we’ve had an epic day here at the University of Georgia. We’ve got some good wedge practicing. and we failed to hit the helmet, but sometimes you just need to hit an eight iron through the uprights at Sanford Stadium. So, I want to see Bucky do it. And I’m pulling out my phone for this one because I want to see it myself. Let’s see it, Bucky. Ready? I’m ready, bro. It’s a dead straight shot. Dead straight. Oh, right down the middle. Right down the That is right down Main Street. Yes. What a shot. Oh, it’s right back there. Hit the helmet. Hit the helmet. Oh, that would be unreal. That was sick. This grass is nice. You know you’re a golf nerd when you walk on the field and all you’re thinking about is, damn, this Bermuda doesn’t really have grain. It’s pretty damn good. We got to hire up the guy who’s taking care of this lawn. Me and all my best friends. This place is huge. Golf brings you to some interesting places. I got I got balloons above my head. It’s been a full day here uh at the University of Georgia. We started off with a tour of campus. We saw kind of a look into the music scene. We went and played some really good golf with uh with the guys on the team over at UG golf club and then we ended the night in Formalware hitting golf shots uh in the middle of Sanford Stadium and then coming in here and I did a panel with uh supporters of the UG golf program. So, it’s a full day here on Scratch University. We had so much fun here in Georgia. We can’t wait to make more of these. Uh like and subscribe if you enjoyed the video. And uh yeah, Scratch University rolls on.

  1. Really good video. Except for all the times where Dan is talking or on camera. Other than that, solid.

  2. Comment section proves why America is the worst place. Not one positive thought in one mind.

  3. prob not the best to talk about smoking weed and drinking beer to aspiring pros/college athletes while they are on campus. all that annoying, off topic and inappropriate banter aside this content is interesting. Just stop being mega unc and shut up and ask better questions.

  4. Why is Dan trying so hard to be like Jason Day with his fits? The laidback styling approach combined with his yapping to be the centre of attention just does not fit for me…

  5. Meanwhile, every scramble I play in is won with a 50 shot by four guys that look like Jonah Hill.

  6. Danny, your content is so stellar. This in particular was great with how naturally you blend in with the Georgia group. Makes me want to go back and watch the others even with knowing the scores. Thanks for showcasing the college boys. Keep the On The Bags coming too please.

  7. Rapaport did not understand the assignment. Wearing blue pants and a blue hat with UGA team really irks me. What a clown.

  8. They still have $1 beer nights in college???….I went to college between 1984 and 1988 at Purdue and we had $1 Long Island Ice Tea night on Thursday at the best dance bar in West Lafayette (in decent size cups…great dance bar) ….$5 or $6 was enough to have a good night…used to we used to crush those…nice to know that inflation hasnt hit the College experience that hard…

Love to hear any other people with low price drinking experiences in College

  9. Stop on the F-Bombs, these kids represent UGA and the course. I have played at the UGA course when I lived in Athens, they would have kicked me out with your language.
