ALEDO, IL – It’s time to dust off the clubs and make a difference. The 12th Annual Mercer Foundation for Health Charity Golf Tournament is set for Friday, June 20, at the beautiful Highland Springs Golf Course just south of Milan—and it’s more than just a day on the greens. It’s a vital fundraiser to help grow the local healthcare workforce.

WRMJ’s Terry James sat down with Mercer Foundation for Health Executive Director Al Zwilling on this week’s “It’s Your Health” to talk about what makes this event so impactful for Mercer County.

“All the funds raised go directly toward nursing and allied health scholarships,” said Zwilling. “It’s not just about future doctors—it’s about CNAs, lab techs, radiologists, and all the essential roles that keep our clinics and hospitals running smoothly.”

The event is open to all, with three ways to participate:

Golf as a team – A four-person team is $300 and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch catered by Mercer Market, and a charitable donation.

Sponsor a hole – Perfect for local businesses looking to support the cause and get visibility on the course.

Do both – Combine your sponsorship with a team entry for the full experience.

Zwilling emphasized the tournament’s strong roots in the community: “We see a lot of familiar faces come back each year, from serious competitors to folks just out to support a great cause and enjoy a fun day.”

Registration is simple—just call Al Zwilling at 309-582-9256 to receive an electronic registration form. Past participants will also receive invites by email.
