The TOUR tees it up at Colonial Country Club for the second time following a hearty renovation effort that was unveiled last year. Straight off his PGA Championship victory, Scottie Scheffler will be gearing up in Texas Longhorns burnt orange as he hunts for his third straight PGA TOUR title in Fort Worth, Texas. Joining the three-time major champion, are Harris English and David Riley, both of whom finished tied second at the PGA Championship. Riley is also defending his title this week and is not quite ready to surrender the tartan plaid jacket quite yet. Other notable players in the field are Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Hideki Matsuyama and Tommy Fleetwood.

That is such a great start for Griffin. If you’re wondering how are the nerves for Ben Griffin, I think he just answered it pretty well. What a start. That is the way to start for Ben Griffin. He has got everything under control right now to get the 16 under. And a dream start for Ben Griffin. Opening hole. Bud Collie starts his final round at minus 6. Pretty far back there. 147 yards. Whoa, look at that big bounce. That was nicely judged for an Eagle. Having a pretty good round today. Three under. Wow, Atlas. Whoa, what a putt. What a putt. That gets Wy to five under and eight under on the day. Ricky Fowler now his third at the fifth. Curt, I was talking to him coming up the fairway. Asked when he was going up to Ohio. He’s going tonight. He said he’s going to go take a look. Oh, take a look at a birdie to start with. Nice little birdie at the fifth, but he said he’s going to go take a look at the US Open qualifying courses. It’s hard to believe that Ricky Fowler has to go qualify for the US Open. Buck Collie on the green at five playing with Lucas Glover and Carl Phillips. A long putt for birdie. Oh, he’ll take that. Wow. Just outside 45 ft. He’s got a heck of a round going all of a sudden. That’s a great start. Obviously, the birdie at five is an absolute bonus. Off the club and then it went long. Tough shot here down in that rough downwind. No problem. It’s tough for some, not for Fleetwood, who’s now tied for second. Goes out in 31. Over to 13. Thank you, Ian. 194 yds. And they’ve hidden the flag today. Back right. Lot on offer today for players like Harry all trying to chase the AON swing five and this is really going to help. If you can knock that one in, that’ll be birdie number five for her. Exceptional shot. And the final grouping. And can Mattie Schmidt get something going? Yes, sir. Putted so well yesterday. 70 yds and roll as we go back to nine. And here is the pretty attempt for Schmid. Get the hole. Oh, and it’s a good one all the way in for the young German who was a number one ranked amateur in his country while he was playing collegiate golf over in the States at the University of Louisville. That long back swing. Seems to have a little better flow with this putter in the bag this week. Like that. Like that. looking for his best finish this season. Yep. The world number one was never going to miss this event in Fort Worth. His T-shot here at 13. That’s six out on the way for Scotty. Little left of the hole. There’s a back stop back there. This for a closing birdie to move into the top five. Come on now. Are you serious? No way. Three, four, five, six. I think it’s moving. Seven. eight. I think you got to still give it a little more than 10. Okay, he’s going to go around his playing companion here. What a shame. What a shame. He thinks it’s moving. We need one gust. Just one. There it is. Tommy lad line is solid. The Louis Vardinal needs a birdie and that is sensational. How can you leave it short? [Music] Seven. Didn’t hit any trees. Oh, that’s a really, really good shot. Outstanding. I was surprised he got as much spin on that to get the fade spin on it, Trevor from the L. That was an incredible shot. 70. Use that fade and go right at it. started right and once again ballooned it up. [Applause] Now you bring six into play and you’ve just given it to Ben Griffin in my opinion. Y two putts is all he needs. Very quick at the end. Wonderful putt. Come on now. should go left at the end and it certainly did. That was classy. All right, a tap in to remain 12 under and Matty Schmidt has to get it up and down for Bogey to drop back to 10. Really, really good four Ben Griffin. You’ll remember that one, mate. That was so good. Well played. Oh, that was really good under the pressure, but still it’s a bogey. [Music] Way left. No need to be a hero. Comes out funny. Look at it. Will it skirt it? I think it stayed right up on the side slope. Nice. How good is this? 3 ft. 3 and 1/2 ft. Great angle, right? Oh my goodness. He did. He did. Pops it up. Rolls it in. Birdie. The high arching three.
