Ben Griffin just switched to the Mizuno Pro S-3 irons this year.

Ben Griffin is now a two-time PGA Tour winner after earning his first solo victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge by one shot over Matti Schmid.
Griffin signed with Mizuno early in his rookie season on the PGA Tour in 2023 and has bounced around a few different models of the company’s forged irons until settling on the new Pro S-3 irons for this season.
At the WM Phoenix Open, Griffin told me the Pro S-3s were the best irons the company has ever made.

This author put the single-piece shallow cavity irons into his own bag to test them against last year’s Pro 243 irons and just this past week determined that they were a little too much iron for me. But that doesn’t mean Griffin’s praise carries any less weight. Lo and behold, in the very same week, Griffin used them to capture another PGA Tour win.
For players who desire extreme precision and shot-making ability, the Mizuno Pro S-3 irons are some of the best options on the market.
The S-3s start a new Mizuno Pro Signature line within the Mizuno Pro family, which the company says will run for an entire four-year life cycle, as opposed to the two-year cycle the company has run off the past few years. Forged from 1025E Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel and incorporating a copper underlay, the irons are another example of the classic Mizuno feel the company has been known for.
They feature a new Triple Cut Sole (also present in the new JPX 925 Forged) which adds bounce to the leading edge of the club and adds extreme relief to the trail edge allowing for easy entry and exit through the turf.
Mizuno Pro S-3 Custom Irons

Iconic Mizuno Pro FeelThe Mizuno Pro S-3 delivers the signature feel that has solidified Mizuno’s reputation. This exceptional sensation stems from the advanced Grain Flow Forged HD process, performed exclusively at Mizuno’s Hiroshima plant, and is enhanced by premium materials:
1025E Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel: Provides a soft, responsive touch that golfers love.
Copper Underlay: Subtly enhances vibration patterns, ensuring a smoother, more connected feel with every strike.
