Tiger Woods’ children are said to be quite taken with Vanessa Trump, their father’s new partner, and it appears the affection is reciprocated. Even the US President Donald Trump has expressed his approval of their budding romance. The pair went public with their affection in March, with the 15-time major championship golfer addressing any gossip directly via social media.
The celebrated 49-year-old golfer, who is currently recovering from Achilles surgery, found himself single after a highly publicised divorce from Elin Nordegren in 2010. Now, it seems he’s struck a chord with Vanessa, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr. with whom he shares a vital relationship principle.
With both Woods and Vanessa bringing children from previous marriages into the mix, their offspring were schoolmates at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Details about how or when Tiger and Vanessa first met remain unclear, but reports suggest that Vanessa has had a positive influence on Woods’ children.
A confidant divulged to the Daily Mail regarding Vanessa’s relationship with his kids, Sam, 17, and Charlie, 15: “She likes the kids; they like her.”
Furthermore, the golf legend informed his ex-wife Elin about his current relationship, making the effort to have a personal conversation and maintain the harmonious co-parenting of their children.
An insider revealed: “So there was really no reason for any drama with Elin. It was more of a call so she didn’t learn about it in the news.
“Tiger knew it was going to get out eventually so he had to make the phone call to Elin before his love life ended up in the newspapers again. He’s made this call before about other women – but never like this.
“Her response at first was like, ‘Seriously? A Trump? For real?’ She was more amused than anything. But she really quickly just accepted it.”
Earlier this year, Woods took to social media to announce his relationship with Vanessa, stating: “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side!
“We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”
In a similar show of support, President Trump has also endorsed their pairing, expressing his fondness for both Woods and Vanessa. Despite their separation, it seems Trump still holds Vanessa in high regard, stating: “I love Tiger and I love Vanessa.
“He and I have a very special, very good relationship with Tiger. I played golf with him a couple of times over the last month, and he’s a fantastic guy and a fantastic athlete.
“He told me about it, and I said, ‘Tiger, that’s good, that’s good.’ I’m very happy for both. Just let them both be happy. Let them both be happy. They’re both great.”
