After the New York Knicks took down the Boston Celtics en route to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, a lone Indiana Pacers fan named Hans Perez was attacked by a group of Knicks fans outside of Madison Square Garden with bags of garbage, prompting the Pat McAfee Show to step in and link Perez up with Paces guard Tyrese Haliburton after seeing the viral video. Rick Strom breaks it down. Give us your thoughts in the comments below!

Oh nah. Oh nah. Oh so she trying to save the day. Yo nah. Every got on camera. N it’s cuz even though the paces like they nuts. Yeah. my own business. Oh, she tried to say it is and she like, “Never mind, I ain’t doing.” Nah, they violated. Ain’t no squeaky. Remember that Pacers fan who was bered and had trash thrown at him twice by Knicks fans in New York? New York firefighter Hans Pere. How are you, man? How you doing, guys? I’m good, man. I made it out. Yes. Yes, you certainly you certainly did. The man who was assaulted, Hans Perez, spoke with the Pat McAfee Show. What were you thinking was going to happen whenever you went out there? Were you walking home or what? How did you kind of find yourself in that situation? Oh man, the in-laws, my in-laws live about roughly 20 blocks away around West 50th Street. So, I was dropping the kids off. My daughter had a basketball tournament the next day. I was working. Couldn’t make it. So, in-laws were taking them. I said, “You know what? I have I’ve been wearing my jersey all playoffs long. I’ve been supporting my Pacers. I’ve been wearing it all over. I haven’t went by a Madison Square Garden with the jersey. All right. You know, at fun, at first it was like dudes just talking smack to me. It was a little fun, you know. Dudes were just going back and forth. But then it started getting a little, you know, a little more handsy. Dudes got dudes wanted the jersey. They said the jersey got to come off. So then I I started getting a little nervous. I’m looking where’s the nearest police? You know, who’s going to save me? Anybody here to save me? You know, then the mob started getting bigger and bigger and bigger. I’m trying to just walk. I was just trying to walk. walk. I’m like, “Let me stay calm. Let me walk. Let me walk.” I know if I run, who knows what that turns into. I seen that movie before. When you run, someone trip me or someone, you know, it could get worse. So, I just try to walk. I was like, “Let me stay calm. Let me just tell guys, calm down. Chill. The series didn’t start yet.” And the host had a very special surprise. Sorry that that happened to you, but we actually have a special guest who wants to talk to you. Uh, ladies and gentlemen, the point guard for the Indiana Pacers out of Iowa State, Tyrese Hallebertton. What’s up, bro? What’s up, brother? What the hell? What the hell, my man? How you doing? I’m good, bro. How are you? I’m glad I’m glad you made it out the jungle alive, bro. I’m glad you’re still still here with us, man. I’m I’m glad to hear it. Yeah, man. It was rough. if I feel like I’m going to war with you guys, man. Well, well, speaking of going to war with us, speaking of going to war with us, I wanted to hit you. Uh Pat told me he found you yesterday, called me. I said, “I got to get on the show and talk to him myself.” Um I want to personally bring you a plus one out here uh to come to game four uh here in Indiana. I’ll bring you guys out here, put you guys up, get you guys seats to the game. the Pacers. Everybody in our organization wants to make sure you’re taken care of. All the team’s excited to meet you. Uh we It’s all we’ve been talking about. Everybody’s seen the video. So, man, we want to bring you out here and uh yeah, man. I’m really excited about that. So, you and Hans, I believe that’s on Tuesday. I believe that’s on Tuesday. You’re able to make the trip. I know uh scheduling obviously as a firefighter or something. You know, I got to I got to talk to the guys. I mean, I’m pretty sure we could work something out where to come see. And a great gesture was had that video. Uh when I saw it, I was I was shocked. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, but I’m glad uh glad that we found you. And uh hopefully I can I can meet you here within the next week. That would be that’d be pretty awesome. Tyrese actually was the one that hit me up and said, “Hey, can can we find this guy?” And that’s why I put out the tweet that was like, “Somebody find this man.” What we also learned was this man is a firefighter in the state of New York. So yeah. Hey man, know you’re combating those fires and saving us all and we’re definitely going to call you when we need you, but uh we’re also going to assault you when you wear the covers of an opposing team. According to ESPN, Perez was followed on the streets by a large contingent of Knicks fans who were celebrating their Friday victory over the injury riddled Jason Tatum Les Boston Celtics in game six. that was in the Eastern Conference semis. After getting hit twice with bags of garbage, Perez continued to walk away as the crowd continued to follow him and heckle him in a clip that has gone viral on social media. He would say in a Pat McGriffy interview that he has seen how people when they have hordes of others surrounding them don’t run because they’ve seen he’s seen specifically what has happened when people try to run away and it never ends well. So he kept his composure, he kept his cool, and he walked. Now, was Karma possibly in the building for game one? Oh my god. Hey, possibly. Of course, that was not the gamewinner after review Tyresese Hallebertton’s vote was on the line and they would go to overtime after that was ruled to two and they would defeat the New York Knicks. A crazy stat from the Athletic prior to tonight. Last night, NBA teams were 977 and0 in the playoffs when leading by at least 14 points with 250 or less remaining in the game. I believe the Knicks led by eight points with less than a minute left and then they imploded. I was I was at the gym. I was reading some of the quotes and Carl Anthony Towns was right when he said they played a great game for 46 minutes. Those last two haunted them. If they played better in that final stretch, we would be having a completely different conversation. And obviously, I agree. But you didn’t. A Tom Thibidoled defensive-minded team crumbled. One that was just inexcusable to me was off of an inbounds. Obi Toppin has a wideopen dunk. He actually had two. One was a putback where he wasn’t boxed out and the second was off of an inbounds play. Where is the defense? Where is it? Aaron Nesmith catching fire. Fine. Sometimes a guy is going to do that against you. Fine. But the lack of interior defense was jarring to me. And as a Chicago Bulls fan who has seen what Tom Fibido le defenses do, completely unacceptable. And I know that they are watching film like crazy. Game two, Friday night in the Garden. So all those people that filed out early, all those people that left, here is my question to you. Are you going to stay if they’re up 15 with a minute left? You going to stay? I saw Larry David’s reaction too to this and that was also amazing. Putting his hands over his ears and just basically like seeing Suzy in his dreams. If you remember the curb episode, if you know, you know. Just startling. Pascal Seakum been a fantastic player for his career. Jaylen Brunson. Okay. OG Anobi missing free throws, not good. Carlenthy Towns missing a free throw. Not good. So, not only did it come to defense, it also came down to free throws. Regardless, I feel bad for this Knicks fan. I’m glad that Pat McAfee linked them up. On this show, I feel um I call balls and strikes. I criticize where it’s fair. And I have criticized Pat McAfee in the past mainly for allowing Aaron Rogers to spew sweet nothings for an hour straight. This though, amazing. Truly amazing. Him linking with Hallebertton, bringing Hallebertton on, addressing the fan. Awesome stuff. Super awesome. And I hope he’s able to find a way to go to a game in Indie. I think that would be super cool as well. If you can and are willing, please become a paid member here at TYD Sports and or go to tyt.com/join. If a NY fan caught that anywhere, they'd be crying for cops. Just classless
He knew better. If you live here long enough to have the accent, you know better 😂😂😂 he wasn't hurt.
So easily divided by fake corporate sports teams, no wonder right wing left wing garbage works on this nation.
New yorkers are trash
That’s dope of Hali man damn. Salute!!
Hatred is in the air from the White House.
And they talk about others like the Philly fans where you at sa or the knucklehead comment guy who seems to dislike Philly for some reason not speaking up for Philly but what's fair something this country seem to be lacking lately and when you see certain people all on the commercials on tv in the hood we already know the deal cb so sh
And this is why we need to stop putting so much focus, hype, and prestige on fucking sports. put that money, time, and energy to promoting sciences and learning.
NYC is trash…they gave us Trump and they’re whiny sore losers.
Lol all of them are IDIOTS WORSHIPPING OTHER IDIOTS getting paid to be idiots 😂😂😂
And this is just for them advancing to the ECFs. Imagine what these idiots will do if the Knicks actually win the title?
That was a firefighter such stupidity.
He really represented for Indiana and Tyrese. The most underrated player in the NBA. Y'all sick in the hood.
NYC is trash and Knicks fans are trash. LMFAO
LOL Cool dude (ima knick fan)
I’m a SACRAMENTO KINGS fan and I get depressed when I see Tyrese on TV
Dumbest shyt ever!!
It takes a special type of stupid to walk around Madison Square Garden at the height of Knicks fandom with a Pacers jersey on. Dude was trolling and he got what he was looking for.
Knicks suck
The main bad actors are the ones who get dragged out of the car by the police. And You wonder WHY🤔
Fuq that!! He's only telling his side of the story. He was likely doing some taunting of his own to be the only Pacer fan at MSG to be attacked
Unbelievable 😒
Where is the NY Knicks response to the absurdity this NY firefighter suffered??!!!
Indiana ✊️
1. Not surprised
2. In Consequences I believe
3. A curse needed for any sports team in dis GREAT city
Let’s just call it what it is. J hope these ni##%#% in the WNBA and these niiiiiiiiiiiiii fans know that racism is a two way street.
Ive never seen anyone completely shit on NY like haliburton did in 24 hours.
Terrible to see people behave like that but I am not surprised as you can't really trust people! At least I don't!!
Basketball fans in the US are too loyal to the point that assaulting anyone is forgivable when done to an opposing team's fan/s. This reminds me of diehard football fans in the UK as well. 😢
Third world country antics. I’m sure throwing that bag of garbage at him will change the outcome of the games in the knickerbockers favor. The Pacers just completed another win, they are 2 & 0 against the knickerbockers.
How they gon act now since they’re down 2-0😂
1st world country my arse
THATS PURE CLASS,GOTTA LOVE IT.
He should never have worn a Pacers jersey at MSG….freaking idiot. 🙄
Same old New York thinking they're better than the rest of us. Sad asf! Indiana about to sweep y'all under the rug.
Knicks about to get swept!! 😂
They worst then the Boston fans but not racist as the Boston fans
Pacers in 4
Who is the dude in white and white head band? He should be in jail
Absolutely disgusting 🤢 🤮 New York fans are the WORST!
As a Knick fans that video was disgraceful, NY has some of the shittiest sports fans on earth
Im glad the dude is being blessed
Lol basketball ain’t that serious
The leave on Tuesday should be auto approved, unless his boss is a solid Knick fan haha. EEnjoy the game, Han. We are up 2-0.
Is that Yasin Bey, Most Def Black on Both Sides, De La Sol and ATCQ in your background?
Long time Knick fan until they traded Porzingus then I made the switch to my home borough Brooklyn Nets. A downgrade maybe – but realizing how obnoxious Knicks fans are made me a true Knick hater. They are worse than Cowboy fans and this incident make me ashamed to be a native New Yorker. I couldn’t be happier to see the collapse.
Love the Blackstar album btw. Was the source of many deep discussions when it came out.
Shout out to Hali for taking time to show hans some love.
This reminds me of New Yorkers yelling we want Houston in the 22 playoffs only to get swept.
Karma … the Knicks are down 2-0, and Indiana fans are hyped
Cmon man really takes the fun out of the light hearted trash talk, degenerates ganging up on 1 dude like it’s gang colors…
