After superstar Rory McIlroy finally ended his 17-year wait for victory at the Masters, his heroics also proved influencer Paige Spiranac’s golfing knowledge beyond any doubtPaige Spiranac previously made a couple of accurate predictions heading into the 2025 season(Image: Photo by Ben Jared/PGA TOUR)
Golf influencer Paige Spiranac demonstrated her abundant knowledge as she rightly predicted that Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler would win the first two men’s majors of the year.
In the case of McIlroy, the Northern Irishman ended his 11-year wait for a fifth major championship as he earned the Green Jacket honors for the first time in April. At the 17th attempt, the man known as Wee Mac triumphed at Augusta National in dramatic circumstances as he completed a career Grand Slam.
This month, Scheffler bounced back from his arrest at last year’s edition of the PGA Championship to close out a third major of his career. The American, who previously won the Masters in 2022 and 2024, defeated Bryson DeChambeau to earn the spoils at Quail Hollow this time out.

The success of McIlroy and Scheffler during this calendar year will come as no surprise to viral sensation Spiranac, though. The social media superstar previously forecast: “He’s going to get it done. Every year I say Rory’s gonna win the Masters, and this is the year!”
Aside from this prescient suggestion, the TikTok and Instagram fan favorite then backed Scheffler to win the other three majors of the year, with this prediction having been true to life so far. Offering up her tips in terms of who would prevail in the four major championships this season, she replied: “Rory, Scottie, Scottie, Scottie!”

McIlroy’s joy was palpable as he finally ended his hoodoo by winning at Augusta. Describing his feelings on a career-defining success at the iconic Georgia venue, he later confirmed: “It’s the best day of my golfing life and I’m very proud of myself, proud of never giving up. I’m proud of how I kept coming back and dusting myself off and not letting the disappointments get to me.
“It’s a dream come true. I have dreamt about this moment for as long as I can remember. This feels incredible. It’s my 17th time here, and I started to wonder if it would ever be my time.”

He added: “At the presentation ceremony, I mentioned that watching Tiger Woods do what he did here in 1997, and winning his first green jacket, I think that inspired so many of my generation to want to emulate what he did.
“There were times in my career where I didn’t know if I would have this nice garment over my shoulders, but I didn’t make it easy in the final round.”

As for Scheffler, he admitted that he felt relieved at having closed out his PGA Championship win, he gave his analysis of his performance at Quail Hollow. He recalled: “This golf course will keep you on your toes. It was weird because at 7, 8, 9, I felt like I hit really good tee shots.
“And I looked up and it was 30 yards left where I was looking which was a bit unsual. Making the turn, I kind of squared my shoulders up and I hit a really good tee ball at 10, a really good tee ball at 11.
“After that, I did a really good job at executing on a lot of fairways, a lot of greens. Played a really good nine holes when I really needed too.”
In a spiritual sign off, he added: “I’m a faithful guy. I believe in a creator. I believe in Jesus. … I feel like I’ve been given a platform to compete and show my talent. It’s not anything that I did.”
