  1. Honest warts and all account of the round. Looked pretty tight there Matt, you think that was getting in your mind a bit?. Regular stretching has done wonders for my back and the way i recover from a round.

  2. Really enjoying the series Matt. I’m need to keep this one on repeat, playing with physical disabilities I really need to stretch more thanks!
Must give respect for the towel trying to ease the stress on the practice green, mowing them at 0500 in the dark and seeing phantom dark footprints where someone was practicing for a long time is creepy as hell lol practice greens get the most abuse of anything on a golf course

  3. Love the videos Matt, i really think your mentality needs to get better, one bad hole and your mood completely changes which makes hit more bad shoots. Really think you should watch Rick Shileds video when he is playing with the course manager for me it’s one of the best learning videos on the mental side of the game and how to think on each hole.

  4. When you do your Open qualifying do you intentionally avoid playing at the same qualifying event as the other YouTube golfers (Finch,Carter etc)

  5. It just goes to prove you don't need a 7000 yrd golf course for it to be difficult, stand gc reminds me of Leek Westwood tight fairways and small greens

  6. Hi Matt, I'm a big fan of your game, today was your worst performance off the tee I've seen, so to score what you did with 0 fairways hit should be a positive, the rest of you game is in great shape and shows you what to work on in the coming days. You've got this sir, I have confidence in you breaking par on this course with just a normal driving day.

  7. The exercises, which you do starting at about 3:10 are exactly the ones my physio has me do as well. 😄 10 minutes each morning. Since I started doing this, I have never felt any discomfort from playing golf anywhere in my body, even after long range sessions.

  8. Looked a struggle that mate, very negative off the tee, and if you play irons you have to be in play and your iron play was shocking. Onwards and upwards mate but I wouldn’t bother with open qualifiers as you got no hope

  9. I am no Professional Matt but if I offered you £100 on every tee box if you knocked it over 200 yards and hit the fairway, what club would you use? Probably a 2 or 3 iron, food for thought

  10. Bit of a gripe stop with the clickbait intimating you won. I watched the video in its entirety despite the poor golf and realised pretty quick you weren’t going to win. Fair play for posting it but a little more honesty in the title please

  11. I’m not sure telling us who you beat is any kind of justification for that display? Despite some reasonable up n downs, the long game needs a lot of work and 2 way misses off the tee (even with mid irons) indicates you’ve got a lot of work ahead. Props for posting that said 👍

  12. Tight course, Matt, but I think that psyched you out a bit. You were thinking more about what could go wrong off the tee and steering your tee shots – never a good idea. I think you're right about the need to focus on a target off the tee.

  13. I found it weird watching you drive without your nice fade. You seemed to be drawing it at will but on 15 slope goes right to left you’re drawing it and 16 goes left to right and you’re straight/fading? Then 17 slope right to left and you’re drawing it. Not trying to be a twat because I can’t draw or fade at will but seems like slope of fairway should dictate your shape. Love the vids.

  14. Enjoyable watch I'm enjoying this series. Liked your strategy of trying to take some of hour competitors out with errant shots. Nearly took three out 😂

  15. Probably should have watched this ‘after’ I’ve played my match this morning. Need to get your round out of my mind now. An honest watch though Matt. Hats off for posting. 👍

  16. Dropping your ball on the green and filming it roll as some ones lining up a putt was nearly as shocking as hitting a drive straight past a golfer on your fairway and no shout of 4.. 😮

  17. Having trouble with thorax spine, shoulders tend to twist closed relative to the hips and tilted sideways away from the ball for me. Result is head position is off by few degrees and back-swing goes too far inside and I miss the putts to right (right-hander).

Few of those pushed and hands take over and end up pulling them all eventually missing both ways. With putt it is essential to get the basis and fundamentals aligned properly to make as many as possible.

A 57-yo professional coach as myself have had a load of strain on thy body, monitoring total load and proper recovery time between workouts are really important. Mobiity training and physical excercise along with playing and practicing are essential to keep other weekday activities tolerable.

  19. Looking pretty much like my game, birdies, bogeys and doubles on the card, if not one even worse and sometimes an eagle as well…

Boring golf, the good one seems so impossible for me. 😅

  20. It is funny, how we tend to take an annoyed breath after missing a 20 footer ever so slightly, yet the percentages are really thin to make one off that distance. I think it is 8 feet, where the PGA Tour average is even 50/50, which is a good reminder for us lower level professionals and amateurs, that the average at the highest level is not what it looks like on telly.

  21. Nice content here… 6 holes in and you've missed about 4-5 shots at least 10 yards right, can't think of a single hook or miss left. At some point is he going to say to himself "I seem to be flaring my shots to the right, I'm going to compensate by aiming 5-10 yards left"? My guess is no. Like watching a Rick Shiels video when he hooks every approach shot and still keeps aiming at the pin…

Whether or not you win a local competition, or qualify for the Open, keep putting these out. They are a great watch and it's interesting to see how a low/scratch player plots around the course.

  22. in comp, you and I are the same. I also lose my head time to time and the hard part is to just lett it be, as one do on a "everyday" round of golf. Question is why "you" cant do that?

  23. Really pulling for you and your game mate. Club face control was all over the place today. How you managed to only shoot 6 over was a miracle!

  24. Love the vids, can we look for a new mic position to stop all the ruffling? been watching you for about 7 years

  25. I really enjoyed this whole video. Was not your best day Matt but showed alot of battling qualities and some great scrambling. Best of luck in the next comp.
