hi there and welcome back to the performance center here at holey Hall Golf Club in leads my name is Ryan rastell PJ professional here at Hoy Hall golf club and also equipment expert for golfshake.com if you’re new to our YouTube channel hit the Subscribe button see loads more content from all of us here at golf shake to help you play more and play better so we’ve got two brand new utilities to try from Cobra so we’ve got the new DS adapt which fits in with the rest of the new family and also the king Tech hybrid as well so have a bit of a look at these and we’ll talk about the [Music] tech so let’s start with the new DS adapt so dark speed adapt lots of adap ations from last year’s dark speed range that was out and was extremely popular to be honest um we’ve got lots of um differences in the technology so the hot face has been improved so what that means basically is when we don’t hit the center we’ve got hotter areas here in the heel and the toe where most of us will M hit golf shots and hopefully get more like centered strike type ball speed when we don’t hit the middle so we’ve also got this power Bridge technology which is inside the head there which is helping move the CG slightly so we should get slightly lower spin maybe a little bit more ball speed as well we’ve got Weighton in the back there not adjustable but kind of we can get different weights in there to change the cug a little bit should you want to but the biggest technological change that we see in all the Cobra products for 2025 is the future fit 33 system that we have here so this Cog system that we have in the huzzle which allows us to have 33 different iterations and kind of setups to really fine-tune these clubs for every golfer out there the DS adapt is a slightly sort of higher launching model than the tech that we’re going to have a look at in a second probably a little bit more forgiving easier to get in the air the shaping has been changed it’s a little bit wider in the toe than last year as well to move that CG even further back and help you get it in the air available in lots of different Lofts as well so you can really slot them into your set and kind of instead of hitting the equivalent iron there is a hybrid in there that will help you too um like I said the shaping I think is improved I I really like the look of it it sits behind the ball nicely and looks I think a little bit squarer when you sit it behind the ball which which I quite like um some hybrids from time to time have looked very upright and very draw biased this certainly doesn’t look like that and I would certainly be in the camp of someone who doesn’t particularly get on well with hybrids most of the time so it’ll be interesting to see how these go normally I hit them left all the time because they’re really upright these because and obviously down to the fact that we can fit them a bit better and FL and the LIE look a little bit nicer to my eye so yeah very very interested to test this so when we look at the king Tech this is more of a players hybrid if you like we do have adjustable weight in in here to kind of help with the draw and fade bias we do have po shell technology and we do have the hot face in there as well but when we look at the profile it’s a little bit Slimmer from front to back a bit more of that kind of peanut shaped head which I quite like as well and again the addition of future fit 33 allows us to really find tune this as well slightly different shafts available in this so we’ve got the Mitsubishi um chemical shaft in here hybrid 80 g stiff uh the mmt and then in this one KBS uh PG hybrid so players graphite hybrid 85 G in stiff as well so we’re going to try both of these we’re going to hit them on the track man and show you exactly what we find so we’re going to start off with the standard DS adapt three hybrid 19° I’ve just put it in the standard A1 setting there so let’s have a bit of a hit with it and see what it does I really like the look of this actually it doesn’t look massively kind of draw biased like some of the models do feels good off the face too nice and solid again I’m expecting to hit these a little left because I always do with hybrids I mean that’s still fine it’s on The Fairway 255 pretty good hit and again like I say I think the feel is very very good again good I mean certainly that kind of that metal wood type sort of feel to it almost like a seven wood or a fivewood distance-wise it’s pretty comparable as well so 2501 total there probably slightly lower flight than I was expecting if I’m honest but yeah very very nice to hit so let’s hit a few more and we’ll try the tech so now on to the tech obviously looks wise to my eye I I like it a little bit more um it’s more that kind of slightly kind of more open it looks a little flatter which which I quite like I can see these kind of grooves on there as well that are kind of helping me to align a little bit more let’s see what the flight is like again nice and Powerful sounds very different to the DS adapt I quite like that it’s a bit of a pushy one more of a players hybrid because like I say that I’m always guarding against left with these I don’t think I need to with this cuz it actually sits more like a a fairway wood which I quite like that certainly hasn’t gone right I think I pulled that one it’s still okay it’s still on The Fairway I mean like I say the flight again just feels a little bit lower than even the um DS adapt did but that’s more down the middle I think yeah slightly better shot but yeah I mean completely different looks completely different feel but kind of more penetrating flight I think that we’re getting off this but I’m going to hit some more with both and then we’ll have a bit of a look at the numbers so when we look look at the results that we got with both of these utilities or hybrids whatever you want to call them so we we see that in the um DS adapt that we’re getting um a slightly higher flight so 91 ft as an average ball speed at 144 so a little slower um and actually slightly lower spin than what we were seeing with the tech which I wasn’t expecting um but we can see in terms of how far it carry so 231 and 251 as a total it’s quite a powerful flight really that we’re getting with that and certainly more powerful than I was expecting when we look at the king Tech we can see we’re getting a bit more distance even more powerful flight does carry that little bit further um but the height at 78 ft is quite a bit lower it was almost driving iron like really when we were hitting it and certainly a club that you know probably off the tea or maybe when you’re playing into the wind would be an amazing Club to be able to really flight the ball down and and kind of knock it under the wind there a little bit certainly felt quite easy to manip as well so I could hit a draw with it I hit a couple of Fades with it as well and was also able to flight it up when I wanted to and I think the you know the addition of future fit 33 allows you to kind of make these hybrids whatever you want them to be so you can change the uh the lie as well as the Loft obviously and do both of those independently at times too so um you know if you do want it to be a bit more draw bias you can make it that way if you do want it to launch a little higher in land softer you can do that by changing the Loft as well I I just think that adds a massive I don’t know I think it’s a huge Improvement really I suppose on on the previous model of utilities and hybrids that we’ve seen from Cobra certainly the most adjustable and most versatile I think that they’ve ever made hopefully you’ve enjoyed that review uh let us know what you think of these hybrids are they ones that you want to go out and give a try because I really think you should do uh let us know what you think in the comment section below do you use hybrids in your game at the moment are you kind of Shifting out some of your irons and adding more and more hybrids into your set let us know that as well hopefully you’ve enjoyed that and we’ll see you all very very soon

  1. The King Tec’s increased weight adjustability and flatter players profile definitely caught my attention. However, based on the data alone, I’d likely go with the DS-Adapt. It offers a higher peak height and launch, presumably resulting in a steeper descent angle, which is ideal for me since hybrids in my bag typically replace long irons for longer approach shots into greens. The overall distance being similar makes the DS-Adapt even more appealing for this purpose. By the way, your videos are always incredibly insightful and well-presented—thank you for consistently providing such thorough and helpful content!

  2. Great review and both these new Cobra hybrids look really good, I am currently playing a Darkspeed 17 degree and its absolutely brilliant especially off the tee, so how do these new hybrids compare to the Darkspeed, would the DS Adapt be a better option in 17 degrees as it launches a touch higher and how forgiving was the King Tec in comparison?

  3. I need a 250 yard club. My 3 iron isn’t dependable for that distance but don’t want a wood. Need something to be easier in the rough and still handle long approach shots. I’m a high speed and high spin player so this one has my eye. Don’t want a left miss club either and the Tec checks all those boxes. Plus I’m a cobra guy recently haha
