And we are back for l coast to coast here on a Wednesday, a golf Wednesday on C to see as we move on from the PGA Championship. We get back on the grind with the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas. Of course Cam Stewart, the Prime Minister, is here as he is every golf Wednesday to get ready with the picks to preview, etcetera, etcetera. Cam, good to see you as always. You know, before we get there, I was just telling you during the break, I was I don’t get down much. I love golf, I love playing the golf, I love it took me about 48 ho. I was beat up. I mean, when that guy just runs away and hides cam. And I know there was a little point on Sunday where Rahm teased a little bit. You never thought that Scheffler was going to lose that golf tournament from Saturday night, about five when Bryson went and threw up on himself on 16 and 17 on Saturday. From that point, you knew it was over and it was a little disheartening. Cam. No. It’s crazy. I got Rahm at 25 to 1 and there was one hedge point. But I’m thinking, you know what? Whatever whatever’s going to happen is going to happen. And the best is I got to bet boost this week. Carver Scheffler to win by three or more strokes plus 350 the guys plus 250 in the tournament. Thanks for the bet boost people. I’m going to tell you something. Maybe this guy over 4 to 1. He’s an automatic play. But you did something very creative that will get to that first round leader number a hell of a lot. I know what he’s been coming out of the gate hot. You get six times the value Carver. Good pick. That’s that’s it. We’ll talk about it when we get there. And that’s how I’m lining them up. So here we go. The Charles Schwab challenge. Why don’t we look first cam and see who do we got here. Well, this well of course we have Scottie Scheffler who’s plus 240 before they even hit a ball which as we know can this guy take a week off Carver. Can he just spend some time with his family like you. It would be great. Wolf Lodge with the kids. Great Wolf Lodge like please and stay there for an extended period. Probably got Great Wolf Lodge in his backyard. Cam. Yes, he’s got everything he cares about his backyard. Daniel Berger, Jordan Spieth, Matsuyama, Fleetwood, McNealy are all here as well. Aaron Rai, Harry English who finished what a finish for him at the PGA Championship this past week. All right. So look let’s get into this first. e are a lot of without Scheffler markets this week. Cam I don’t know if I want to just play those and or maybe just sprinkle a little half and half maybe take what I would normally play on the outright market and do 50 over 50 or 7525 because I don’t know if I want to get involved with this guy again this week because I’ll probably win again. Great call. I don’t know what I did. Carver. I reduced my top ten 30s and 20s, 30s and 40s and added to the first round leader market because that’s the fun market for me and you, and it’s one that we hit a lot. So you got to play it. You’re right though. We got to bet without Scheffler. If this guy could be there again. These numbers are of course that I’m going to give you are the straight outright with Scheffler included. You bring a couple bucks off of each of these and you could probably get that on the without Scheffler market. I’m going Si Woo Kim at 40 to 1 this week I think. See who’s been playing great. Cam. He hasn’t been able to put the entire four rounds together and finish it off on the weekend. But maybe he can finally do that. But Akshay Bhatia is number kind of jumped out at me 70 to 1 at this course. I know he hasn’t played well, but he shouldn’t be down the board below some of the names and stooges that he is on this board this week. So I’m going to take a shot with 40 and the same thing with Tom Kim 90 to 1 for Tom. All right. Fine. I’ll bite. I’ll go for Tom Kim this week at 90 to 1 because I he could show up any week cam and suddenly start winning golf tournaments again. Eric Cole at 100 and Tom Hoge at 100. I think cam for both of these guys, these are great courses for Cole and Hoge. Couldn’t have said it any better. Great numbers. I’m going to add Hoge to my the hoagie sandwich to my card. This is it. If Cole can finally win for us Carver, this will take all the Scheffler bad vibes away. I’m going with Ryan. Ginger 35 to 1. Carver is right. We should get him a little bit higher. But perfect course for him. He’s a precision ball striker and that’s what you need at colonial. JT post in a hot player right now 55 to 1 JJ Spaun I know Brady is a big fan. Brady Cannon loves the spawn man and I love him to 55 Davis Thompson another guy that keeps it straight 60 to 1 Bud cauliflower not getting a lot of respect. Eat your vegetables at 80. And you know me Cole Cane baby Eric Clapton style. Let’s get it done at 100. We gotta have that Cole cane on our card. How about that. So Brady’s in on Jay. He does like playing JJ spuds. That’s what he loves one of his favorite guys that he likes. All right here’s the placements for me. Everybody’s on Daniel Berger this week. All right fine. Top ten at plus 240 I’ll get involved Speith as well. Top ten at plus 250. The postman always rings twice. Top 20 at plus 180 Davis Riley won here a year ago at a huge number. We’ll go top 20. And what he just finished his second year at the PGA Championship this past week. All right 20 for him at plus 220. And I’m going for the Phillips screwdriver this week. Yes Carl Phillips for a T20 at plus 650 carvers coming over to put my bed frame and TV to get out to TV with the Phillips screwdriver. Let’s go. We got burger time burger bag at top ten I love him right now. Plus 240 top 20. Hello. My girlfriend had Harris English last week. If you can believe it. She’s a better golf capper than me. She throws darts. Brian Harman, top 20 plus 190. Gerrard watch out for Ryan Gerrard cover. He’s becoming one of my favorites. This guy is a leaderboard machine plus 210. And you said it plus 230 for a top 20. Sign me up. First round leaders for me cam I’m going to the same strategy I did a couple weeks ago with Scottie Scheffler when he was also in Texas. I’m just going to play him for first round leader. If he’s going to go smash everybody, he’ll probably get off to a good start. And I’m getting 11 to 1 when the guys plus 240 to win the entire tournament. Amazing. All right let’s go 11 to 1 Keith Mitchell is almost a must on Thursdays now at 55 to 1. Little Mac Hughes at 65 to 1 this week JC afternoon nap at 70, Tom Hoge at 75. And this slam. And Sami Valimaki has been a great Thursday player also cam I think we got to keep him on the card at 100 to 1. And I’ll go with the Phillips screwdriver again. I think he’s going to play really well this week. 110 to 1 for first round I got to add Phillips. And you’re right man I’m telling you Valimaki is a one day warrior Tommy Fleetwood 35 to 1. I don’t expect them to win, but I expect them to be around the top after the first round. 40 to 1 for Ryan Bethea 65 to 1. That’s a great number. Hoagie sandwich 75. Cam Davis a great Thursday player at 80 to 1. Cole riding him for everything. Carver I’m all in. He’s a buffet at 85 to 1EVR Erik van Rooyen at 95 to 1. Let’s rock. Yeah I’ll have to do Cole for first round leader two. We’ll just get he’s leading. We have him at 100 to 1. You will le your mind. Cole Kane I have to cover because you’re right. I could see him leading Thursday and then, like, falling apart Saturday or Sunday, and then we don’t get the full payoff, so I’ll be there. Cam, let’s get back on the horse here this week down at colonial next week. The memorial getting involved looks like no Rory either for the memorial next week. And we are back for l coast to coast here on a Wednesday. A golf Wednesday on C to C. That means of course Keith Stewart from Read the Line is with us as we get ready for the Charles Schwab Challenge at the Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas. After a big PGA Championship win for Scottie Scheffler on Sunday. Keith, good to see you as always my man. It was fun at quail. I mean it wasn’t fun if you bet on anybody but Scotty. But it was a fun, fun weekend at quail. It was an incredible weekend at quail. And you know, you and I, we were together all week last week, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and the leaderboard kept building. And we knew everyone, you know, pump the brakes. Johnny Vegas isn’t winning this thing. Ryan Girard’s not winning this thing. You know, everyone in the media center is freaking out about there’s no big names on the board. And then by the end, it was Rob, Bryson and Scotty going head to head. And we had a we had a pretty good clash of the Titans. It’s too bad Zeus is on his game these days, and I don’t think it’s the Charles Schwab Challenge this week. I think it’s the Scottie Scheffler challenge this week. I don’t usually Keith like I get so annoyed that I don’t want to watch the golf, but I almost got it this weekend because like when Bryson did what he did on Saturday on 16 and 17, when he was right in there, me and you were both on Brian. We wanted Bryson so bad to be involved in this thing all the way through. You knew he was kind of done after what happened on 16 and 17 on Saturday. You just knew when you put your head on the pillow that Scheffler was going to win. And that’s always tough. And yes, there were other tickets that we had in play and other things going on. But from like a, a drama perspective Keith, it sucks so much out of it. When Scotty’s got that kind of lead going into Sunday. So I was walking step by step with Bryson on Saturday afternoon on his back nine, and we’re on the 17th hole. He takes the lead on 15. We’re coming down 16. You know a bad bad nine. Make that you know he doesn’t make that par putt. But I didn’t think that would rattle him. And he hits the nine iron. And at the time that he’s hitting the nine iron it literally bounces hits that bank and it drops in the water. We all go oh at the same exact moment, Michael across the pond over at 14, Scotty’s Drive is rolling up to two feet, nine inches, and I turned. I looked at the guy next to me and I was like, colonial. That was it. Like Scotty makes eagle, Bryson makes double and the tournament was effectively over. And hey, everyone made a run on Saturday afternoon. But you know, Scotty just kills you. It’s like death by a thousand paper cuts. He’s not going to make a ton of mistakes and he lets everybody else do it. He’s like, I mean, if this was Top Gun, he’d be Iceman. He certainly would. And we’ll get to Scotty in a little bit again for this week, because I know he’s a stupid number at plus 240, but we’ve got to find some ways to actually play him. So we move on now to the colonial. And this is like kind of like a little pit stop. Now Scotty’s playing and you have a couple of other names that are playing and Scotty’s probably playing. e loves playing the Texas events, obviously with him being down there. And then we get it cranked up again next week at the Memorial. Tell us a little bit. Anything changes this week? I mean, this is always kind of the same. We’ve been at the colonial for a long time now. Keith, is there anything we need to look out for this week? Is there any weather concerns, etcetera, etcetera? Well, there’s probably three concerns I can think of. Number one is that about a year ago it went through the course, went through an extensive renovation. So the you know, the PGA tour has almost been here 80 years. But Gil Hanson Jill Wagner came in between, you know, just prior to the 2024 edition of this. And they redid the whole golf course and they took it back to its roots, to its original design. And we saw a lot of guys using more of the ground game last year. Now, last year was a little bit soft due to the weather. This year. It’s been firm right now. I just looked at the weather before I came on with you. It’s 92 degrees in Fort Worth, right? It is going to be firm and fast. You got to account for around the green acumen. It’s going to be, you know, there’s going to be some bounce through the fairways and that Bermuda grass rough. We’re going to have Bermuda grass. There’s not going to be a ton of overseed. So the second thing is, is that, you know, when it comes to the changes of what’s gone on down there, you know, the weather itself is that it’s going to keep it that way. There’s a little chance of a storm like on late Thursday night, but it’s like a 12% chance of like maybe 2/10 of an inch, right? Maybe just enough just to feed the grass to make, you know, the rough a little bit more difficult over the weekend. Now, the weekend itself is going to be windy. It’s going to be just like it was at Quail Hollow. It’s going to be difficult conditions. And the third thing is that if you ever thought Scottie was going to take a week off, he’s there in his hometown again of Dallas Fort Worth. In the last three years, he’s finished second, lost in a playoff to Sam Burns back in 22 and 23. He finished one shot off the lead of a playoff and he finished third. And then last year he finished second again and he got boat raced by Davis Riley by five strokes. So if he was going to mail it in, it’s not going to be at a place where he just went two, three, two and he’s in his home town, those three things add up to a very short number for Mr. Scheffler. Yeah, and it is a very short number. And I think even before we do, your Outrights and me and cam were talking earlier whe did our picks, that I think that we, we don’t like to do it, but I think you have to now for a week like this, you have to utilize the without Scottie market this week like it really because it’s him and everyone else. I mean, it’s not even like there’s a Xander or Rory or there’s like like it is an enormous gap between him and the field. So is that how you’re looking to play it this week? Mike? Three weeks ago he went to Dallas right, to the CJ Cup, TPC Craig Ranch, a golf course that was easy for everyone. And he beat everybody by eight. He opened up with ten under par. He beat everyone by eight. Then he went to a golf course in a major championship, conditions that he never played before for 72 holes of stroke play. And he won by five. Could have won by seven had he not had a mud ball. Could have won by eight if he doesn’t bogey the last hole. And now we’re going to a golf course that actually fits him. You know, nearly 50% of your approach shots are coming from 125 to 175. Like that’s his wheelhouse. And he’s putting really, really well. The thing is the thing is about Scottie right now, if he wants to really build legacy, is that he needs to start to put runs together of winning tournaments in a row. And I’m sure he knows that he’s got this. He’s got Memorial where he won last year, he’s got the US open coming, Travlers where he’s defending. He can pull off 5 or 6 in a row here. So you know, for me there’s without a shadow of a doubt. We’re not betting him at plus 202 40. In fact I think that number is too high. The whole thing for me is the without Scottie market. Yeah. Is there anything else we could do with him? I’m going to do what I did a few weeks ago. I’m going to I’vt a first round leader again. I’m going to I’m going to play first round leader again. Because if he’s going to blow everybody away 11 to 1, that sounds great to me. As opposed to plus 240 Keith, you know. So we will find out what you think of that and your entire card. And I think the ladies are also back in play in Mexico this week. So we will get it all done when we And we are back. Farrell. Coast to coast here on a Wednesday a golf Wednesday on C to see Keith Stewart from read the line is with us here today. All right Keith, since we did all the Scotty tell us how else you want to play him and then we’ll do the outrights without market, which you’re going to have. Well, you got to be creative, Mike, at ths point. And we’re not going to go for four rounds at plus 240 or plus 200 or 260, whatever the number is. But I’ll go one round at plus 1200, which is what the number was where I got him for first round leader. Go back to Dallas. Right shot 6110 under the first day. And if you go look at the PGA tour website in stas there’s Keith Mitchell. And then sitting there in second is Scottie Scheffler with the second best scoring average on Thursday afternoons. I’m also going to take him for third round leader because if he does start slow, by the time he gets to Saturday night, he will be in position just like he was at Quail Hollow. He’s plus 300 there. It’s a bigger number and I’ve only got to go through 5454 holes in order to get there. So in my mind, there’s less chance of somebody else sliding in there. So that that’s how I’m going to deal with Scottie this week. I think of it as compounding interest as Benham as many ways as I can, and then just hope that he goes wire to wire. And then that’s the only way you can collect. Yeah. It’s you got to get like you said, you said the perfect word is creative. That’s really what you have to be with Scottie Scheffler going forward. All right Keh you’re outrights which I guess as we just mentioned are going to be in the without Scottie market this week. Yeah. All the numbers that they’ll put up in the graphic I’m sure are without Scottie. First one Daniel Berger he won here in 2020. And what’s significant about that is that that was just coming out of Covid. It was like the second or third event. It was like a major championship field and he took everybody down. So he’s obviously very comfortable here. You know we know how good he has been all season since February. But the Potter, it seems to go off like once or twice around. And then he finishes like top 20. Well I think he’s coming back to a place with these perfect brand new greens, bent grass. He’s obviously comfortable here. He’s won here before. I like Berger, he’s one of the favorites without Scottie in the market. Like right around plus 1800 J.T. Poston plus 3300 without Scottie, you know top 12 at colonial last year after the renovation. Top five at the PGA. And when J.T. Poston is hot, he tends to do special things. I think back to 2022 when he was second at the travelers. The next week, he wins the John Deere. That’s kind of the way that J.T. Poston rolls. And that’s the key right now is that he’s rolling the rock. He’s actually improved his ball striking over the last year or two, but he hasn’t putted like the J.T. Poston of usual posting. The postman’s about to deliver another guy, Eric Cole, a huge number here without Scottie. We are on a positional golf course with Bermuda grass. I know not on the greens, but Bermuda grass everywhere else. When you look at Eric Cole play Wailea or Harbor Town or Valspar or Sedgefield, where they play the Wyndham, you know, all of those courses that force you to, like, not use your driver a ton. Those are the places where he always finishes top ten. And he contends, so I love Cole. He’s been playing great as of late. And I think this is a sneaky place where, you know, he could definitely come in second. And if he knows that Scottie’s already ahead by five, he probably won’t feel the pressure of not having won before. So those are my three outrights I’ve got. I’ve got the Cole man on the card this week as well, Keith. So hopefully we can have ourselves a nice big hit coming out of the PGA Championship. The placements for you. All right. Top ten I’m going to go with Harry Hall. And I hemmed and hawed over this. I may even end up outriding him. But at plus 600 for a top ten he was third here in 2023, which is significant because he tied with Scottie Scheffler. He was great that year. He had the 54 hole lead. He’s a good fit here. And why? Because probably the biggest weakness like hole in his game is off the tee. He’s been very solid on approach lately. He was nice at the PGA. His around the green acumen and his putting is very, very good. And he wears the Hogan cap if that counts for anything give me a top ten. Top 20 Aaron Rye if you need the straight and narrow and you don’t need a guy to putt, just, you know, with 20 places. Aaron Rye is your guy. You think about him winning at Wyndham. It’s a very good comp. Then the other one, JJ Spaun. If it’s a ball striker’s Paradise, JJ spawn is going to be there. You think about some of his finishes this year. Certainly the second players the guy keeps the ball in play. He was third at LA which is another place for the Sony Open where you’ve got to just be positional and just go A to B all day long, like playing chess. And then we go into the top 40. Henrik Norlander, he’s e trick pony. I know he has one superpower, it’s approach, but it’s a very significant one here. I feel like he can come in with the 40 places and the last one, Brian Campbell, the guy who won in Mexico, banged it off the bamboo in the playoff and beat the Poltergeist. Right. Brian Campbell has been playing really well. He played good at Augusta, so he’s been good on approach. He’s fourth in the field in approach and he’s also beend at scoring. It’s a short golf course. He might hit more drivers than anybody else but 40 places. We can cash some money quickly the head to heads and give me one lady in Mexico. All right. English over. See? Woo Harris. English. Great history here. Great PGA tournament. Spawn over. Thompson. Spawn for the ball striking Thompson missed the cut at the PGA. The ladies are in Mexico. Oh, Mexico. Carlota Ciganda third at Liberty National. And the last time they were there eight years ago, she won the Lorena Ochoa match play. Keith Stewart rea
