And another brute here at 18. And Cam Davis is a couple under par. Beautiful line. His ninth hole of the day produces a birdie. 18 playing as the third hardest hole today. So a three is tremendous. Here’s Cam Davis at the first after birding the 18th hole. Wow, that’s pretty significant back-to- back birdie stretch. We take 18 and one. Cam Davis coming off two birdies back to back here at the second. All right, that left for par to stay four under par. Cam Davis on this very difficult 488 yd par four. really want to put it in the Oh, wow. Fairway. Come on. Bunkers are reachable on the right. That is short and right of the bunkers to three. Davis playing out of this fairway bunker. Luckily, right in the middle of the bunker. Shouldn’t have too much of a problem. Unfortunately, coming up with good 30 yd short. This is third hole. Cam Davis with his third after coming well short out of the fairway bunker playing up into the hill. There’s a little ridge right there. The ball could trundle back down further away from the hole. Now back to Cam Davis. Cam Davis at the third for par. Best PGA finish was a T4 at Oakill a couple years ago. And what a nice save. Clipping from behind anything. Can’t play defense. No. No. Till four. And Cam Davis. the shortest par three here at Quail Hollow at four under to four and Cam Davis for birdie in the lead. So we have a hole in one and we have a tie for the lead at five under after Cam Davis. Birdie’s the fourth fifth hole. Davis can hit a good one here. That one fan and the bleachers will go bananas. Nope. To five. And Davis for the lead. Playing beautifully. Another really good shot right on line now at six. Birdie putt for Cam Davis to hold the lead all by himself. He curled it right in. Near hero status back at home, isn’t he? Absolutely. To have done so well. He’s done so well in the majors as well. A very impressive player. Just a bit erratic on the greens at times, but uh definitely one to watch. Cam Davis with his second at the par five seventh. Very fortunate that it stayed up in and around Quail. Davis not one of them over at seven. Yeah, very awkward shot and it’s going to come right back to his feet. The first two/3s up the hill and then it goes back down. Andy, we were talking a moment ago, why why hadn’t he won more often? Well, we just looked up his stats off the tea are not very good this year. This golf course this week, they get to cheer on 99 of the top 100 in a major. Cam Davis cleaning up his par five, seven, remain six under. Aggressive as you like, Curtis. Eight for 12 fairways hit so far today. Some players who don’t have high profiles have played great, including at eight. Cam Davis found the bunker off the T. Saw him tap that. putt from where he was. So Davis two putts was in the bunker off the tea in the short par4. Eighth remains at six under heads to the final hole of the ninth. He’s working with a hypnotherapist trying to take a different approach and get his head back in the right place. He said he’ll try anything and if it doesn’t work, he’ll drop it. But why not? That’s sort of the game in a nutshell, isn’t it? Go to 17 as we move tonight. Great mind or just stay in the fight. It’s only Thursday. Uh, he came out of it. Big long second shot. Caught the tree. He’ll be left with a difficult third over the bunker. And the third for our leader Davis. Looks like a pretty good line to throw it up in the air. He did that. Will it settle? That’s reasonable. Not bad. He’ll have that to post 65. Dave shot 65 at Oakhill in 2023 when he tied for fourth to match that. No. So, he’ll surrender that shot, which means that Gerard and Davis are your leaders.
