on this Friday. Should be interesting to see if John Pac can make a run over his final five holes and catch our leaders. Currently been holding for most 13. Then from the edge of 15 for birdie. There you go. Right there. That’s a nice little putt. goes out in four under 31 on the backside and made the turn and stayed hot here from the bunker on one. Almost jarred it. That would lead to an easy birdie at the first. Then from just off the green at two, tracking to about a foot. A kick in. Birdie got him to six under on the day. Then at six, trickles it in. Beautiful. A bogey free 63 for Mattie Schmid. And he is currently at 11 under par. Tied for the lead with Ben Griffin. I’ll give you a number. We made 158 ft of putts one day and 58 ft the other day. Guess what? Today was the day he only made 58 ft worth of putts. How about that running? Really good. Simpson riding that front edge. Have a short look at birdie here at number eight. So Simpson at one under. Aaron Ry up next. He’s one over. So looking like he’s going to need at least one more birdie to make it to the weekend as that cut line hovering at even park. pretty much straight off the left. Yeah. Ry one over on his round. That was a good looking swing. That was a fully released cut. I like it. Oh, didn’t get quite the hop we were expecting, but that was a very good golf swing. So, Aaron will have a solid chance to get to even par. Now, Camilo Vgas under par for the tournament. He’s one under on his round today. He was a big drawer of the golf ball and he started hitting a lot more cuts, hitting a lot straighter. Let’s see. He’s taking the right hand side of the box, but it looks like he’s taking dead aim. Oh, fly asking for it to fly. You see our shot tracing technology provided by Trackman. Only 83 foot apex there, but Vagus gets it to bounce on. And you’ll have a good look at birdie here at number eight. That might have been a groove low right there. I don’t know. But it didn’t sound great, but the ball flew a little farther than I, you know, where it really need to. All right. I know you like the swing of Aaron Ry that he put on his T-OT. What do you like here, DP? It’s just so simple. I know the angle’s not great, so it looks like he’s aiming in the right bunker, but he’s really not. He’s aiming pretty much right at the hole, maybe slightly left of the hole here. And watch this. Watch how it all goes back one piece. You even saw a rehearsal in the beginning where he just really nothing’s moving. His shoulders are taking that club back. That club, all it did was when it stopped at the top. When he got halfway back, all he did was actually his wrist up a little bit. There’s no early wrist set at all. And now at the top, he gets a full turn here. And watch this motion down. See how the club just laid down very so slightly and then he just clears left beautifully. And watch the extension through. There’s not a big flash through the ball. In fact, you almost saw that broken left elbow going past the ball trying to keep the club face from from shutting down. That was really well done. Ry a winner in the fall on tour. And there’s just one top 10 though this season that came in Mexico. That was a T4. Really had a fantastic 2024. Ended up winning the Windom. Yes. Also had a runner-up finish during that season at the Rockford Mortgage Classic. Six top 10s, 13 top 25s last season and ended up finishing 23rd in the FedEx Cup standings. That kind of takes care of your business for the next year. Plus, the win gives them another year. And that is if if there’s the worst tournament to win on the PJ tour, it’s the final tournament of the year because you can’t get to the playoffs, right, without But I’m just saying there’s no bonus. You win the first tournament of the year, you win a Sony, right? Win there, you get three-ear exemption, right? Basically, win the last tourn of the year, you only get a two-year exemption. So, it’s it’s I’m making a joke there, folks. But literally, it’s a big difference winning early in the year as opposed to winning late in the year. But it’s still a win and you get the full two years after that year that you won it. Then I could really complicate things and say there’s some tournaments you actually get three wins and then majors in the players championship you get five years. You want to do a deep dive here? Used to be 10. used to be 10, but no, what’s really funny is when they propose that to the players board, I go, there’s no way the players are going to vote that. And they did to get it take the 10-year exemption to the five. And I was really surprised. You got to hit that one. That was right in line right there. That’ll be a two putt par for the Jagus. He remains two under par, one hole to play. Now arrive from the front portion of the Green Ry traditionally takes a very thorough read on his putts, but as you mentioned yesterday, once he is ready to go, he goes. It doesn’t take long. Oh, what a good stroke that was. That was a misread. All right. Now, Webb Simpson in tight here at eight. Webb playing in just his sixth event this season as he’s been coming back from back and neck injuries. It’s a great birdie there. Gives him a little breathing room. You know, he hadn’t been playing a ton. Hadn’t played very well. And make a cut, give him some more reps, that’s huge. you know, he’s he’s playing just to climb that ladder and get back into the mix. I mean, he’s not playing for money anymore. He’s he’s just fine. Even with as big a family as he’s got. Someone made a mention of that cuz No, I’m doing okay. I, you know, we’re we’re just fine. But he just loves to compete. Yeah. Looking like he’s going to make the weekend at two wonder. As you see Ry tap in for par. be just his third made cut in six events this season for Web.
