This is apparently something that Zack Johnson does with his grips according to @peterb1210 (who owns a set of his irons)
.
I have heard things about players on tour using things like chopsticks down the back of their grips to help them get their hands into the right place but I hadn’t heard of anyone using cocktail sticks until recently
.
Even though they are of course quite small and thin when placed inside a grip they will protrude out to the point where you can even easily see it
.
If you were thinking of trying this for yourself you could use it down the front or the back , the front would give more of a visual aid and down the back would help you to feel where the club is sitting in your hands a bit like what the golf pride aligns do
.
I love finding out little tricks that players do like this and I think it’s worth giving a go as every little can definitely help
.
Thanks to Peter for sharing this information 🙌

  1. When removing the grip to reuse it, the air may not escape from the top, causing it to burst.

  2. 저렇게 비대칭으로 만들어져 판매되고있는 상품이 있습니다. Rip Grip이라고 합니다. 손가락 안쪽에 그립감을 높여 주는 목적인듯

  3. I assume none of the negative commenters are familiar with the very popular golf pride “align” grips. The toothpick serves as the same alignment aid/grip reminder for a much lower cost. It’s a handy tip

  4. "Just take an eraser"………………..RIP – eric burke stone creek valdosta ga He was the club pros dad and he regripped clubs, I ask him to do this to my clubs and he replied……. bill , why don't you just , just take an eraser…. that was 30+ years ago
