The 2024 UIL Texas 6A boys 4x100m race back in May was one of historic proportions. Relive the moment as we went behind the scenes to follow the U.S. high school national record-holders — Atascocita (TX) — along with Duncanville and other huge programs at play before they would go on to run in the fastest high school 4x100m competition in HISTORY.

Four teams would go under 40 seconds: Atascocita (39.14), Duncanville (39.47), Galena Park North Shore (39.79) and Katy Thompkins (39.85).

  1. Dreads add ten horsepower, if you're lining up against someone with dreads there's a high probability you're getting beat. I call it the Samson effect.

  2. They would have had another 39 team in The Woodlands. They ran faster than Duncanville in the Division prelims, then dropped the baton in the division finals.

  3. As a dad, I love and respect our kids. They are just different!! Some of my friends kids( older now) won texas state championship in 5A, and 6A ball. And got scholarships to ut, smu, tcu, and numerous others!! Just have to keep them out of that big city fast life. From a dad to all of those young athletes, keep grinding it'll pay off!! 🫡🫡🤟🏾

  4. Jelani was a born track runner and already fast… hence why he made Klein relevant and Atascocita relevant. 2025 its very quiet for both those teams Lets keep it real. At least DVille been consistent with speed

  5. Imagine running a 39.8 and not even getting a medal.

Really this meet had great running all around. Even small schools had guys running 10.3s

  6. Jamaican high schools have the fastest times ever…where did you get your nonsense from..check penn relay or jamaica champs records

  7. Silver is a hell of an accomplishment at state, but that last handoff cost Duncanville the gold.
