Former golfer-turned-model Paige Spiranac has labeled Chris Pratt as “the slowest golfer” she has ever played with after teeing it up with the Hollywood actor at a celebrity Ryder Cup event earlier this year.

The PGA Tour is well underway for 2025, and already there have been some iconic and memorable moments ahead of this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge – the 24th event of the year. In April, Rory McIlroy claimed his first-ever Masters title to become just the sixth player to secure a career Grand Slam, while world number one Scottie Scheffler put himself on course to achieve the same feat on Sunday by winning the PGA Championship.

But while the professionals have been the main focus, there have also been opportunities for others to show off their skills. That was the case at the Genesis Invitational – won by Ludvig Aberg – back in February, when a number of celebrities were able to take part in their very own Ryder Cup.

Spiranac was just one of the participants who took to the greens, where she found herself partnered up with singer Nick Jonas. Pratt was also on hand to test his golfing skills, but the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Jurassic World’ star left the 32-year-old influencer far from impressed.

“At Genesis, they did a celebrity Ryder Cup and my partner was Nick Jonas,” Spiranac began on a recent episode of the Vanity Index podcast. “We played against Chris Pratt. He was very slow. Might be the slowest golfer I’ve ever played with. Super nice guy, unbelievably slow.”

Spiranac, who often posts snapshots of her sultry golf outfits on social media, added how Pratt, 45, “had all these people around him and he’d tell these amazing stories,” but didn’t swing at a swift pace. “We were like, ‘Hit the golf ball,'” she recalled.

After Vanity Index uploaded a clip of the episode to Instagram earlier this week, Spiranac provided further context on her game with Pratt, posting in the comments section: “It took us over 3 hours and 30 min to play 9 holes for context lol.”

In another part of the show, Spiranac revealed the most famous stars she’s ever golfed with. “I was in a foursome once with Mark Wahlberg and Justin Timberlake and Gary Player, so that was pretty sick,” she said.

The influencer made headlines earlier this year when she recalled the treacherous time she endured at the 2015 Dubai Ladies Masters and how it almost ruined her life, citing what she describes as “brutal” treatment from her fellow female players.

Spiranac, who had also previously opened up on the online abuse she received after making her professional debut on the Ladies European Tour, had received a sponsor’s invite to the tournament, which many believed was above her level of play.

Spiranac conceded that she understood why certain eyebrows may have been raised at her sponsored invite to Dubai, claiming she had practically “walked in” to the tournament while others had “worked their a– off, week in and week out,” but could have never expected to be treated the way she was – especially by fellow female golfers.

The former University of Arizona and San Diego State University student, however, has since hung up her clubs to go full throttle with her influencer career, now boasting 4 million followers on Instagram and 1.6 million on TikTok.

Lapping up brand deals and modeling gigs, she has certainly made a name for herself, yet she still has a major passion for golf. In July 2023, she launched her own subscription-based website called OnlyPaige to post instructional videos, livestreams, and vlogs.
