Today I am testing a golf ball that you can find on Amazon here in the UK and it does have claims to rival the Pro V1 for just $29. But for that price we know there’s only one man for the job. That’s the first shot with that golf ball. It felt nice and soft. It is a three-piece urethane ball, but at £29, it’s obviously destined for mid- handicap Dave. You’re trying to say I’m tight with money, Chris. Dave, I’m not saying anything of the sort, but at £29 for a threepiece European ball. That’s right up your street. Straight down my straza. Yeah, straight down your straza. So, we’re here at Garath today. We’re with Dave’s favorite golf club here in his golf bag, which we are just about to film with. But we’ve been sent some Legato golf balls, which we’re going to discuss in this video. We’re going to show you with numbers how they compete with the Prov1. They go like that. They complete compete pretty well, Chris. and they could go straight into your golf bag, the LTX3085. So guys, getting the correct golf ball for you is imperative. So this year we’re making sure Dave has the perfect setup in his golf bag and that includes getting the right golf ball. And if we can get something that is 20 cheaper than a Prov V1 and performs as well, then would you consider that? Dave actually hit two off the tea with the same club. And we can see straight away the consistency. So Dave’s going to come in with a pitching wedge. Now this is the first test for this legato ball for durability. Again, pitching wedge here. Is that going to do anything to that urethane cover? Because it is a little bit cheaper. Let’s see. Again, it’s a great launch and a great strike. And there we’re just up onto the green. So, a good shot from there, Dave. We’ll take it. We’ll go and inspect that golf ball. Yeah. Up on the green. Let’s have a look and inspect the golf ball. Has it made any marks again? Feelwise, did it feel as soft as a Pro V1? It did. Yeah. And the ball flight was pretty good. Has we got any markings on there? No, no, it’s just grass markings. Really? Perfect. And the one big thing that we have got there is an alignment aid. Look at that alignment aid. We do have a good alignment aid on there, which we’re going to use now with the putter. So, when we’re buying a golf ball, this is where, yes, we want it to be just as long off the tea. Yes, we want it to feel good with our irons and into the green, but this is where it’s incredibly important that it feels good off the putter. And one big thing that I think is alignment aids for your mid-h handicap golfers will certainly help you lower your scores. That’s pretty good up that slope. A little bit of work left. And that’s what I think a lot of these companies that you can get online and you can get from Amazon, they don’t put the time. They don’t put the research in. They don’t put alignment aids that are going to benefit you on there. And this one’s certainly nice and thick. You can see as it rolls over, so it can help you not only align your putter, but also get some feedback of why you maybe miss a putt. But hopefully Dave knocks this one in. Fantastic roll for a nice and easy par. So Dave’s going to come into this par three now, the 12th hole, playing around about 157 yards. We’re going to hit the legato. Then we’re going to hit the number one ball in golf, the Pro V1. Everybody knows and we all know with that slogan and with the advertising comes an extremely premium price. But how will they compare flight performance-wise here? So, launch a little bit out to the right distance-wise. Looks pin high, Dave. Yeah. Let’s come in with the Pro V1 now. So, we can’t blame direction down to the golf ball, but looks pin high. Was working back ever so slightly. So, it should be just right to the green, past those bunkers, which is the main thing. Again, you want a golf ball that’s going to you can trust. You know, it’s going to carry past the trouble on certain holes, which we’re going to put through its paces on the next with the driver. So, identical flight there. That’s a swing from Dave. And that only just got over that bunker. Dave, how did they feel? Uh, very similar. Yeah. Yeah. Very. So, very interesting there that the Pro V1 actually only just got over the back of that bunker which kicked it through to the back of the green and and the legato is just behind that bunker. Okay. So, we’re going to come in with driver now on the 13th hole golf at the 57 yard par five. So, we need a good drive down here to get into a good possession to get into a good position even with the second shot. So, let’s see what ball have we gone first, Dave. Legato. Legato up first. It’s another nice launch there. Slightly left. Let’s see what that does. 192 going 210. It’s not bad from a miss strike, Dave. No. Launched well. Wasn’t the best strike. Let’s come in with a Prov V1 now. We’re going to try and hit two with each here and get a little bit of an average. Certainly a lower launch there, Dave. What’s that one going to do? 176 running out to 210. So, two totally different ball flights. Two not great strikes, but performance-wise, pretty similar. Let’s grab two more, Dave. We’ll hit those down here again. So, back in with Prov1 to start with. Prov was it? Yeah, I’ll swap it around. Prov this time. Mixing it up. So, Prov1 up first. Another low flight. Again, not your best strike there, but again, 172 going 211. So, incredibly consistent with that Pro V1. Extremely low ball flight. Legano. Now, in with the Legato. Legato. Sorry. What did you say? Lego. Lego. It’s an office I used to work in. It’s called Lego. There we go. The legato. So again, a better launch than with the Pro V1. A longer carry. Yeah, straight away there. Longer in total, Dave. Very interesting. Now, obviously the big question is, guys, when we’re talking golf balls is, can one of these golf balls off Amazon, a direct consumer golf ball, compete with a Pro V1? So we’ve just seen there with those driver numbers very similar spin rates but if anything the legato actually performed a little bit better for Dave and this is where yes you can say was a mid- handicap golfer he might be inconsistent with how he returns the club and that is the exactly spot on to be honest but that golf ball did perform as well and for £29 you’re saving quite a bit of money over a season but now let’s test it with some wedges and this This is where Legato do claim to obviously have as much if not more spin than a Pro V1. So, we’ll certainly put this to the test. We’ve got his pitching wedge and we’re going to start with that legato golf ball. Fantastic strike. A fantastic flight there for Dave. That’s right next to the flag. And that stopped exceptionally quick. So, gone 111 actual carry. stopped at 117. But for me, if we have a quick look at the numbers on that shot, let’s go into those now. We can see for from there we’ve got Dave 111 117 total. 6,600 spin for Dave’s club head speed. I would say that is pretty good. And if I zoom in, cuz Dave wants me to obviously do that. I just think that’s remarkable. Dave wants me to do that because that is right in there. So, let’s come in now with the Prov V1. Dave, let’s see just how that does. And a lower launch, which is what we saw with the driver. Shorter carry. Yeah. And 110 total. So, again, it didn’t sound too bad. I thought I hit that as well. Interesting there. So, it’s launched lower and that was probably low on the face and the spin has jumped up there. So, interesting. Low on the face. It has gone a,000 revs or around about 800 more. Let’s keep testing. Right. So, up here we can see the difference. So, yes, that launch low had a lot of spin on there, but so did this one right here. And if anything, I believe, so we’ll do the pitch mark in a second. We might have even had some back spin from Dave, but a better flight, but less but less spin according to Yeah, which is not a bad thing for me. It’s still right up there. It’s still competing at 20 cheaper, but to be fair, Dave, it’s two wins so far for the legato. Let’s move in a little bit closer. So guys, the two balls in torque and we’re now up and around the green. So we’ve got a chip shot that somebody, well, not just like Dave, like all of us, we often find ourselves in this position just short after hitting a reasonable shot in but didn’t quite reach. And now we want a golf ball that we can trust here, Dave. Yeah, you’d say I’d taken the wrong club again, I guess. I mean, more than likely, Dave, but let’s see how these perform on there. So you’ve got your pitch wedge. We’re playing a bit of a bump and run. Let’s see if we get a difference in flight and distance control here. Legato’s leading so far. It’s a nice fly just past pin high. You would take that, Dave. We now come in with legato ball. Snow again. Like I’ve just mentioned to Dave and we’ve just mentioned off there again the covering doesn’t look as premium but for 20 cheaper I mean that’s more aesthetics than anything. Okay. Just a little bit lower there from that legato. It wasn’t the best strike, Chris. Um but it it still felt soft and nice. Yeah. and it’s still done exceptionally well, but I want to put these balls to the test with a driver. So guys, you will see there so far with Dave, it has performed exceptionally well. So, can you buy a direct consumer ball off somewhere like Amazon? Can you get good numbers? The Legato certainly proves that. I want to take a couple of drives. So, we’re going to hit a couple down here on the fourth hole at Lindri and see just how it performs for me. Legato right there has performed pretty well. So a high launching shot there, but again look to come off with plenty of speed. So again, we’re still going to get a good amount of speed off that ball. Be very interesting to see how it performs in a long time a longterm review with Dave. So obviously he’s going to be playing with these golf balls. We’re going to see what it does to his scores and just how they obviously hold up. Because the big thing is if you’re paying obviously a little bit less, how long do those golf balls last? Are they not lasting as long as a Pro V1? Because yes, you might be saving 20, but how does it do? Let’s go now in with a Prov1. And again, an identical flight there for me. Coming off at the same trajectory. Both looking pretty good. But guys, would you buy a ball off Amazon? And if you would, have you seen the Legato golf ball? Because for me, performed exceptionally well with our mid- handicapper. Not too bad there for me. But how will it do longterm?

I use these great balls for the price
I don't think Mid handicap Dave will be a mid handicapper for much longer. His game and ball striking seems much improved these days.
Legato is a good ball ..and you can catch them on sale for 18.99 time to time👌
I've been playing them for two years. The ball performs well for me and you can't beat the price. On their website junior golfers can sign up and get a dozen free a month.
MH Dave never fails to impress. Kudos to anyone who's prepared to filmed while testing balls, clubs, etc. Excellent video boys 👍🏻🌟
Dave with a Legato is a dangerous combo 🔥 thanks for the review Chris!
Well done Chris and dave 👏 😊
I've been playing this for the last 2years, and they often go on sale often, but the numbers and performance are unbelievable. Bonus: I don't feel as much guilt if I lose one.
Don't Seed have a ProV competitor? PS it’s not Legarto but Legato
Gabe on Let’s play thru was been using then for a few years.
Not keen on Daves shell suit bottoms 😅
I looked up Lagato golf balls on Amazon Canada. They are over $50. Sure that is 10 or $15 better than a pro V one, but is it truly a budget ball? Welcome to Canada… where a one dollar chocolate bar cost you seven dollars…🤷♂️🤷♂️😮💨😮💨

Great video as always guys! Keep it up! And thank you.
Dave looking very dapper in this video!
The Legato is the ball of chouce on Let's Play Thru and he tests everything.
Having played Legato it’s as good as any ball I have played , distance, spin , durability. Personally I prefer a Bridgestone RBX because it’s so straight but otherwise would take Legato all day over Pro v 1.
That’s actually the old model LTX3085 you’ve got hold of! Golf Ball Addict channel on here recently reviewed the new one!
If you're testing "cheaper" three piece urathene balls would love to see the Srixon Q Star Tour under the microscope. Can often be found on offer for around £2/ball.
Legato are not cheap if you are getting them sent to Australia
I am now a huge fan. They were on sale for 18 usd and I picked up 2 doz. Great at that price.
I have used the Legato golf balls. I normally play Wilson Duo Soft but when I want to try working with a firmer ball it is either the Legato or Vice Pro Soft. Those are my preferred hard balls. My driver swing speed is about 65 MPH.
I play these and they are great! Learned about them from Gabe on Let's Play Thru. I'm glad to see your review, especially with Dave.
"There's only one man for the job."
Truer words were never spoken.
I bought a box of these last year and they are brilliant I would definitely buy them again. 👍⛳
I don’t think these 2 balls are a fair comparison. I think this Legato ball is more like a TM Tour Response. I had bought one box just to try out the Legato. I liked it so much, the next Prime Day, I bought 4 more boxes at $22 a box. That’s a heck of a deal for a really nice ball. I have not had any issues with the cover. I used one ball for 3 rounds before I hit it in the water. It was perfectly fine. Overall, this is a great value golf ball.
Haven't heard of that ball but bought a very similar ball called Cavell S golf ball from amazon normally £29 a dozen but on offer for £24. A very good 3 piece Urethane covered ball.
This is my gamer. They just released a new edition and was able to get a couple dozen of the original ball for 18.99 on Amazon. I love this ball.
Gabe from Let’s Play Through in Florida uses this ball all the time
Thanks to the Golf Ball Addict and Let’s Play Thru for bringing these balls to my attention! Can’t beat the performance for the price!
BTW – Legato just released a new version! Golf Ball Addict gave the new version a marginal review of the new version. The easiest way to differentiate the new from the old is that the "g" in Legato does not have the loop on it. I too am a big fan of the "old" Legato ball.
