There it comes. Oh my goodness. In your right seen like that. Going to go nuts when he hits those things. And now it comes down to one for the win. Is it his time? Hello listeners, you’re on another episode of the Pitchmark Collective. We’ve got Teddy Theodore Lassier II. We got Justin Lair, the left-handed guru. We have myself, the guy who cannot putt anywhere, anytime, any place. Cam, how we doing, gentlemen? might be the nicest intro you’ve ever given me, Cam. It was off the cuff. I didn’t even think about it until the the music was ended. So, uh, right now what I’m dealing with, Justin, is this little blurb down here. Can you see this? The StreamYard live viewer comments show up. Yeah, it’s throwing me for a loop, but I don’t know how to get rid of it. Ted, you got rid of it. We’re good. No, I did. I just clicked it. Oh, I didn’t clicked it before you. I did not try that tactic. So, uh, good call, guys. Um, you know, we’re just some technical champs over here. So, speaking of champs, Teddy calling it early with the pick them champ blurb here. You kidding me? And I almost picked the dark horse after Friday. It was looking like Vegas was going to get it done. And I thought I was going to look like the smartest man on the planet. I was so mad. I was just mad. I was like, why is this happening? Teddy’s dark horse Jonathan Vegas who’s had like one made cut in the last 12 majors that he’s played in leading leading that graphic wasn’t great. I think Justin you sent it in our group chat um with his his major record like there’s like dashes all over the place because he qualified it wasn’t good but and that that showed on the weekend because he he sucked. Yeah. But my pick Scotty Sheffller ended up winning so it all evened out. You can’t say he sucked. He finished T5. He sucked on the weekend. I said it and I stand by it. Oh, we got angry Cam today, Ted. You can’t you can’t shoot you can’t shoot three over par on the weekend and expect to win a major tournament. Well, no, but you can’t say you sucked. He sucked, pal. Well, if he sucked, then all the other guys that didn’t even make the cut, what are they? They sucked. That’s that’s in the like the actual like course of the tournament. When you don’t make the cut, that means you sucked. We’re just getting right into Justin Thomas. Justin Thomas sucked. Sucked, dude. Jordan Spuck. Yeah, we are just like jumping straight into it. I mean, Jake Knap, Jordan sucked. Uh Cam, your favorite? I mean, he’s your guy. Uh yeah, how did Shane Lowry and Seep Straa, like two of the most consistent guys this year, they missed the cut. Yeah, that was a that kind of threw me through a loop. Hideki, I feel like they all have Bud Collie to blame because he was like the guy that I saw like if Bud Collie makes this like the cut stays at plus one or goes to plus two. And I’m like, “All right, bud. Like you going to make a lot of people happy or you just going to annoy the [ __ ] out of him and it looks like he annoyed him? I mean Willurus missed it as well. Lvig, Patrick Reed, Patrick Kentlay missed it. Cam Smith actually Minwj they’re all sucky besides Bryson. Well I guess there was Rohm too. I was going to say besides Bryson and Rom who actually made the cut for Liv, but I mean those are the two you kind of thought would do anything over this week. I think that’s it. Sergio made the cut. David Poo made the cut. Terrell Hat made the cut. Made the cut. Yeah. So, all right. Like I listened to the pod from last week. Obviously the complaints about it being Let’s get the review of the podcast. Actually, Justin, what you had texted me some choice words, you know, when you listen to it. Uh, why don’t you just review it for us? Uh, and let Teddy know how you feel. I’m pretty sure that that was a group text that I would send it to. It was. Yeah, it was. All right. Well, I didn’t know if Teddy forgot about it. He looked like he forgot, but I I haven’t. I Teddy actually takes it to heart and tries to improve on a weekly basis. Exactly. I’ve been in the lab. just like throws a middle fing a Japanese middle finger up and just calls it good. Is that what that’s called? Your pinky is a Japanese I don’t know. My daughter said that to me the other day. We were so she had a tournament and uh I was tell actually I was telling Cam about this about your putting wos. So Addison, she was in a tournament on Sunday and she was just striping the ball. It was crazy. Like she hit almost every fairway with her new driver. Like shout out Taylor made QI10. That is the most forgiving thing I’ve ever seen. Um, but she’d get on the greens and they were rolling like 11 and a half, almost 12 and they put them in some pretty greasy spots. Um, and we get to this par five which is like I don’t know, it’s like 400 yards. They’re pretty short for her and it’s this dog leg and it goes off this like kind of cliff wall. So, she hits a perfect drive, perfect eight iron. She has a wedge in. She hits a wedge short and I’m like, “Okay, this is going to be a little touchy and she does like perfect little bump and run to give herself 10 feet.” And she hits the putt 10 feet by the hole. Then comes back and hits it three feet. So still has a sevenfooter and then rams that one by then misses the tap in and she’s about to just hit the ball like off and be. I’m like, “We don’t do that.” And she looks at me and she just taps it in. I’m like, “Oh [ __ ] you just five putted.” Like, what? Uh, so yeah, we were putting for par and we ended up with nine. So, we’re walking to the next. We ended we walked to the next one. I’m like, what would I what should we talk about during this? Like, I’m not going to bust her balls about it. Like, there’s no need. Like, she already feels and I’m try just trying to get her to stop crying on the course. Like golf’s not important enough to cry. Like let’s Yeah, let’s not give that much emotion to it. Cam and I talked about that last then I won’t then I won’t talk to you about my round today if crying’s not allowed. And she looks at me and she’s like I just want to I just want to and I was like what is that? And she’s like Japanese middle finger. So that’s where that came from. Which I thought was hilarious. I was like all right. Did your daughter make that up? Where’d he go? Yeah. Like is are we going to get in trouble for this? Because that’s something that’s like Can somebody at Hideki Matsuyama for us to verify this? We might just have to go look up on like Gen Alpha’s slang terms. Who? That’s probably Gen Alpha slang terms. What is Gen Alpha? That’s like my daughter’s age. Like sixth graders. Like the stupid [ __ ] that they were saying at the tournament was absolutely insane. Skibbidity. That’s one. Yeah. Or like Rizler and Oh, what’s the other one? Do you know the Rizzler? Are you a Jamaican dreadhead? And I was like, what what does that even mean? I still have no idea what it means. They just I don’t I don’t like where this is tracking Justin. Yeah, I don’t either. So, all sorts. Anyways, the PGA Championship happened. Yeah. Uh Scotty Shuffler still good at golf. He bogeied the 72nd hole and won by five. So, I looked at the TV and I looked at my wife. I said he could like sixbutt this and still win when he finally got on the green. But go back to the original question. Was it better than anticipated? The weekend was I would say I think the the course the course held up all right you know I mean outside of Scotty’s 11 under you the the next closest was six under so it played tough for 99% of the field I mean no one no one was happy about it being back at quail like there was I mean podcast too everyone about it I’m sure Rory was before founder of the club I’m sure all the members of Quail Hollow were like, “Yeah, this is sick.” Yeah. So, it so it held up. Ted, what do you think? Did you enjoy watching it? Like, it was It’s not my favorite course. It’s It’s more on the boring side. I think it’s like your typical PGA Tour stop where it’s Oh, come to Come to find out, it is your typical PGA tour stop yearly. spoilers. Uh, but it’s it’s relatively long, can be tight. You know, you got your 480 yard par4s, your 500 yard par4s, slight dog legs. The holes are all kind of similar to me. Even like a couple of those shorter like reachable ones, like I couldn’t tell you what number it was. And like with if they moved it up one day and then they moved up a different hole the next day, like couldn’t tell you. Um, so it just kind of everything kind of gets lost in the mix except for best player in the world won. Shocker. Um, I think the right player won and so I think the course did his job. That’s true. I mean, they had some crazy par threes, but you couldn’t like if you’re being honest, like looking at that par three, it looks like three or four other par fours that are on the course. Yeah. You know, shout out shout out to Seawoo getting that ace uh on a two yard par three. That was cool. He’s got He broke his own record of longest longest par. Yeah. Longest par or longest hole one on a par three by like five yards or something which is kind of crazy at the open. That is crazy. So So what do you I mean the course held up. What are the thoughts on Thursday and Friday? Because I know the weekend was when everything like everything happened on the weekend and I think all was right in the world of golf. But I mean Thursday you’re looking at the leaderboard going what in the hell is going on here? I was going to be very disappointed if everything held true after Friday. Like with work I wasn’t really able to watch much Thursday, Friday. Yeah. And so just keeping an eye on the leaderboard, I was like, I don’t even know if I want to watch this weekend if this is what it is. And it luckily it didn’t end up working out that way. Yeah, it it was tough. It was tough to watch all that. What about you, Cam? Yeah, I wasn’t wasn’t thrilled to see Jonathan Vegas shoot what was it eight under on Thursday. I’m like, what are we like? Especially I was salty towards Ted for sure. I was like to of course Ted gets a dark horse right here uh with with Jonathan Vegas. Um yeah, I wasn’t a huge fan of it Thursday, like Friday after Thursday, I’m like h I’m not even going to pay attention too much, you know, taking a glimpse at the leaderboard here and there. Uh Saturday and Sunday, Sunday got interesting. I mean, John Rom made his charge. You know, they’re tied at one point on the back nine and then Scotty kind of just figured it out. you know, he was missing left a lot, which was interesting. And then he I think he just had, you know, he stayed patient through that and and figured it out. And then, of course, as quickly as John Rom put himself into the mix, he put himself out of the mix. Teddy, you and I texted that putt that he lipped out for birdie. If that goes in, we’re probably talking a whole different tournament. It would have been very interesting. Um, and he should have made that putt. One thing I noticed, and I don’t know if it was just like the way, you know how sometimes when when guys hit it looks like the ball shoots out straight, right? Um, but really it’s like pretty, it’s just the way like the curve of the lens. For some reason, like every putt that like they would do that wormhole for like Rom, as soon as you would hit it, okay, this is going in. I can see where it’s breaking on the contour of the green. Wouldn’t go in. Scotty, his would always be like just outside and it looks like it should break further outside, but then it would kind of just come back in, curl curl in at the end and then he’d make those, you know, 15 foot par putts. I don’t know what it is. Like, is he just that much better at reading greens than everybody else? Like I don’t know how he saw that, but every putt that he needed to make and they would do that, you know, that that uh low camera view, the ball broke the opposite way it looked like it should and he’d make it. I’m not going to put my tinfoil hat on and say that the PJ tour was behind it. I’m not I’m not going to do that. I’m not doing that. I’m just saying it was very impressive how he was able to correctly read those butts. Just saying. He’s just saying, guys. I don’t think notice that at all or No. Am I by myself? No, I think you know. I think you’re the only one noticed that specific uh issue and possible conspiracy. Uh we’re looking forward to how it develops. So, as you watch the uh the next few tournaments over the the summer. So, let us know, Ted. Okay, we’ll do. So, Scotty, shot gains shots gain total first. shots getting off the tea. This is total year second. Approach to green first. Putting 15th. So like he’s still really good at putting but like not the best. Yeah, but what’s the difference between strokes getting first to 15th? You want me to just pull up the whole leaderboard on this now because I’m not prepared to do that. No, no. Well, I I was just saying on strokes gained, like who’s first in putting right now? If he’s 15th, who’s first? Yeah, I’m not entirely sure. Let me pull that up, though. You know, since I said I wasn’t prepared to do it, and you still dug the hole down. Uh, so here we go. Strokes gained. Putting So, who’s first? Who do you think’s first? Well, that was just for the tournament, right? No, this is for like all year. It’s through the P. championship. Oh. Uh, one of your favorite players here, Ted. Shots. Sam Burns. Sam Burns. Don’t tell me that. Yeah, tell me that. And now we know who Teddy’s picking for play okay this week by the way. He did. No, he did. Sam Burns, Sam Ryder, Jacob Bridgeman, Harry Hall, Brandt Sneder, Nico Echaria, Denny McCarthy, Rory Ashe, Sammy Valamaki, uh Frankie, is it Kappen, Zack Johnson, Danny Willlet, Christian Bazain, and then Scotty Shuffler. It is interesting to see Rory that high. I didn’t think a full full half shot between Scotty and number one. Yeah. I just thought it was interesting like the difference between first and 15th, but I mean everyone talks about how Scotty is putting as Achilles heel. At least it was last year. And I mean he’s fixed it to some extent. Well, I think it was because last year he was I don’t even know if he was inside the top 50 or 60. Yeah. So, I mean, to go from it being an absolute travesty to being inside the top, you know, 15, um, he didn’t even and that’s why he just won by, you know, five. Yeah, totally. Do you remember like last year it just felt like like Rory made a comment about Scotty like during impressor like maybe he should go to a mallet and then Scotty went to a mallet and then he just lit the world on fire like yeah I feel like it was literally the next week Scotty Sheffller last season was 77th in shots game putty how good he is with his irons like I mean he’s he’s a really really accurate driver of the golf ball surprisingly with all that foot motion. I don’t know how he does that, but it’s his approach shots like his iron game is next level. Well, when he misses like especially on the front nine, every time he would miss the green or like it just seemed like his ball was always in a different spot than everybody else and he had a much more manageable chip. Yeah, much more manageable chip. And then the magnet was under the green getting his ball into the hole on those P. He he definitely had like Bugs Bunny under there trying to trying to suck him down to to Looney Tuneville, whatever it’s called. Yes. Got line got just magnets in the subair system just going everywhere for him. Yes. All right. I mean, he he he’s uh the best ball striker in the world, and when that happens, you tend to to manage your misses a little better than everyone else, you know, where you can hit it. I have to imagine, you know, Ted Scott comes into play, too, of like, hey, here’s where we want to miss. Like, let’s hit this shot. Like, not telling Scotty what to do, but giving his input, it’s probably really good insight. He’s a uh proven guy who’s won a million majors at this point. So, did you guys watch the um Scotty Grant Horvat video? Yeah, a little bit. Scotty, he’s Scott. Scotty’s I would love to hang out with Scotty. Scotty sounds like a just a rad dude to chill with. But it’s so funny how they talk about he doesn’t have like a personality and then you like literally just picks it up like he’s been on YouTube 4,000, you know, videos. Like he’s just been there before. It’s like he’s just a steady guy. Like just because he doesn’t, you know, peel out of the parking lot after losing the US Open, you know, for missing the putt, like he’s got a personality. Just he’s just a chill guy, dude. It’s just not over the top personality. Yeah. You know, it’s not a Bryce. He was kind of getting fired up on Sunday, too. That was kind of throwing his hat down. Yeah. Oh, when when he he hit a shot and like you could read his lips. He’s like, “Let’s [ __ ] go.” And I’m like, “Yeah, Scotty.” Well, we were I was watching it with Addison and all of a sudden we saw that and she’s like, “Did he just got?” I’m like, “No, no, no.” So my wife and all of a sudden I’m like, “Oh shoot, he did.” Yeah. I’m like, “Dang it, he actually did.” Because I was totally like, “No, he he didn’t do that.” But my my point with the Grant Horvat video um was he was talking about putting and how Ted used to read a lot of his putts and he like said he wanted to get more comfortable with his own um reading the greens. So now Ted only comes in when he’s asked to on u reading the greens. So I have I have to imagine like going off of your own read and feeling confident and that is just a thousand times better than Yeah. feeling confident. Like I’ve had caddies before playing rounds. I’m an awful golfer. Like let me let me preface that but like it like I trust I trust their read over my read to be fully trained. Yeah. You’re going to put a better stroke on it when they tell you. Yeah. But for a pro it’s going to be like you know what like especially a guy like Scotty complete feel like you don’t see him on the range with the Trackman or whatever or the the SP like he’s just like all right dude this is where I’m hitting my eight iron today. So that’s what we’re going to hit our eight iron today. which is actually kind of cool. Like I actually really like that aspect that he just goes out there and just like feels it rather than throwing technology everywhere. I I have to like most of these guys, young guys now coming up are going to be the opposite of what I’m about to say. Like most of these guys coming up, you know, the JTs, the Jordans, the the Scotties, around those age groups, like they didn’t have that growing up. Like I’m sure they did, don’t get me wrong, but like but that generation before it was all feel like that’s how you learned how to play golf. You didn’t have the numbers easily accessible. You didn’t have all that. So I I bet a lot of guys would maybe benefit from taking a step back from that, you know, kind of aspect. Like looking at the numbers like what if Bryson just went out, didn’t pay attention to his [ __ ] spin spin rate. He can’t like his personality and his mind won’t let it’s not possible. Yeah. What was his uh He was so pissed about titleless golf ball this week. Is that what he’s Is that what he plays? Yeah, he plays a not Well, recently that’s what he’s been playing. Said it’s not the left dash because the left dash flies to left. Yeah. So, he left dot is like the low trajectory. You think he’s just going to go to maxf fly now or something? Maybe. Maybe like everybody else is. He’s asking for a straighter ball. I’m like, you have never had a straighter golf ball than you do at this very moment. And it’s not going to get better. They’re going to roll it back. Also, it’s tough when the iron face is curved. You’re swinging at 190 miles an hour. Yeah, there’s going to be sid spin on it. Well, and let’s not rem let’s remember what he does to his irons. I mean, his his nine iron is literally your and I is like five iron. Yeah. So, he’s literally swinging a five iron as hard as he can. Like, there’s a reason why the I don’t know why I don’t get any spin on these on these clubs that don’t have any loft on him. Yeah. Just throwing so much spin on him at all times. I don’t know. Like, I just The curve the curved face has got to be detrimental to him on on some, right? if he’s on the spin aspect. It’s just I I just think it’s such poor form to go out there and he just throws his manufacturers under the bus. Like Cobra was such a good partner for him and then he goes out and throws a fit obviously goes away from that. He’s it’s the driver. It’s the driver. This driver sucks. So now he’s on the crank driver and well and he should be playing the LA Golf Driver since that’s the freaking commercial he’s in. But he’s not playing that. and he plays that in his second driver, but the one that he’s using all the time is still that crank one. So, it’s like, dude, I don’t know. It’s weird. Those crank drivers are strange. By the way, I played with a guy like two weeks ago and he went out and bought one. One ugliest head cover I’ve ever seen in my life. It It seems a little PX PXG related. You PXG times 10. There’s flames sewed on the head cover. Hell yeah. Like, hell yeah, brother. Gonna get a little Cletus. Cam Cam had a Scotty Cameron that was flamed colors. So, no, it was Ronald McDonald. It was Ronald. Oh, yeah. That’s right. There was at least a theme to it. But guy loved it that I sold it to. Just absolutely loved it. Had to have it. Didn’t even negotiate my price. He’s like, “Here you go. I want this butter.” That’s That’s hilarious. So, all right. Back the Let’s get back to some quotes here. I I think the best quote of the week came from uh my PGA pro I picked to make the cut. Welcome to the block party, Michael Block. He said in an interview, he goes, “You know, honestly, gosh, please. I wish I wish there was more crowds because bigger crowds. That’s when I hit my shots and I I need to play in front of bigger crowds.” And he’s like, “If I could, I would, but I can’t.” And I’m like, “Michael BL,” like just reading it, I’m like, “What is going on in this guy’s head? You hit the shots with like he’s living on that Oakill Ace with Rory on Sunday. Totally. Which like do not get me wrong. That was me. Like I’d just be riding my hat on that until the the day I took my last breath. Played with Rory final round. Like he competed. He was in the mix. But it’s like Michael Black. Like we need Michael Black at every PGA Championship if you ask me. Well, sign him up. Wasn’t it two years ago when he said like I’d be a top player in the world if my driver distance was long enough? He’s like if I hit the ball like Rory, I’d be a top 10 player in the world. Okay, Michael. Yeah, that guy. Sure thing, pal. Sure thing. You shot a million. Did any PGA pro make the cut? I don’t think so. I don’t think so. So, we were all just screwed at that point. Yes. Yeah. Nope. Nobody made the cut. I’m still a little upset that I misread the rules for our PJ Pro because it doesn’t even make sense. The guy that I picked, his last name was Gross because I thought we were trying to pick Yeah. the worst PGA Pro. So, I was like, “Yeah, naturally, I’m going to pick Gross.” And I like I like I went along with that too, Teddy. I’m like, “Yeah, I mean that’s that’s what that’s why I thought that’s what we were doing.” But like as soon as like we I texted before and I texted after and it was the same rules and we just Nobody understood. I had to tell Justin what the rules were today. Well, I thought I thought Ted like I got I got two points. I was like, “Didn’t I get a didn’t I get a point for the best uh PJ pro?” And I just You should just pity give it to me at this point. Yeah, you’re down bad. like I’m down bad even worse. Yeah. Should we go ahead? Should we talk about some of the points? Should we just do a quick update? I was going to go back to like Thursday and Friday. Honestly, I was looking at this leaderboard again and obviously Vegas, Gerard, Davis, Donald, Fox, Smallley, Jerger, Ry, Norin, like no one is there. And then you’ve got Homa that shows up on Friday and like no one’s talking about Homa. like he can Can we just say like because as quickly as he showed up on Saturday or Friday, he left. It seems like he like is sneaky with his increase in speed. Like did you guys notice at all? Like he had quite a few like mid 180 ball speed Yep. shots. I didn’t think he had that. Never never had it before. Uh but yeah, Cam, you’re you’re right. I mean, he was what? Because this was playing par 70, right? Par 71. Yeah. So, he was he was two over round one. Then he goes and shoots a 64, which is probably what I’m still living in and just seeing him, you know, come on there. But then he went off planet Earth again and went 7677. So, there’s a reason no one’s talking about him. I I take everything back because I was so pumped to actually see him on the leaderboard for two days. Yeah. No, I mean he there’s a few club throws uh this weekend and Maxwell was one of them. Uh the most famous one coming out this weekend was Windham Clark uh his driver. He’s he’s well out of it. It’s like why are you doing this like on your 68th hole on like what are we do? Like why are you doing this now? And wasn’t didn’t he actually destroy like uh some advertising for his sponsor T-Mobile? T-Mobile. Yeah. He sent his driver right through the T-Mobile sign. I read somewhere that the volunteer still has his driver in shaft because the volunteer was like right next to the sign. Oh, that’s He’s lucky he didn’t go to the Magento VIP area or whatever they call it. I don’t have T-Mobile, so I couldn’t tell you. Dude, I have T-Mobile. Sounds right. And the app is called like Tife and I’m just not a fan of it. Not a fan of it. T-Mobile’s fine, but the whole I’m not gonna say what I want to say about that. Teddy, we’re probably tracking. Okay, we’re probably tracking together here. So, uh, anyways, T-Mobile, not that great. Uh, as you know, proven by Windham Clark sending his driver directly through their advertisement. Also, I hate Windom Clark’s hats, dude. They look weird. I hate that style of hat. It like they’re small and then like kind of I don’t know. They’re like not a flat bill. He almost looks like Smalls a little bit from uh the Sandlot. The bill’s not nearly as long as that hat, but it just gives me that vibe. Look like Yeah, totally. Sandlot. Yep. Uh so I mean, you know, Bryson, he’s right there. Like tied for second, six under for the week. He shot even par, 71 on uh Thursday, but 68 69 70. So steady back under par. Uh, it’s just Scotty’s on another planet. He’s He’s got the it factor. Do Do you think we see a Liv player win a major this year? I think it happens. It’s a US Open. And I texted the group. I was like, “What if Bryson just becomes a US Open merchant and just wins like seven majors, but they’re all US Opens?” I mean, you got to be fine with that, right? I mean I mean you would think that Liv would have a better chance winning the open with all the European players on that side used to the conditions etc. But I mean there is some argument to be had I would think. I mean do you think Liv is I think it’s not playing I mean Rom could easily go win the US Open or the Open Championship. Bryson could and I think that’s probably it. I mean, everyone talks about walking Neman because he’s won a ton of live tournaments. Yeah. But his like majors just he’s still a really young golfer. I’m happy for him. He just isn’t performing in the majors. But but it’s because he is so young still. Like he’s not You think you think it’s his age? I He just doesn’t have the experience. I don’t think that’s it. And also for the last four years he hasn’t been playing in majors which I mean the three of us go play in just a reg. So is it his age or the fact that he’s not playing in majors or in golf? Well there’s a direct correlation with both those chat. That being said he had a good he had a good finish this week. You know he was tied for eighth but well he went low on Sunday. Yeah. 68 three under 67 on Friday. Okay, I guess Friday he did too. I just clicked his thing on the PGA Championship thing on the thing and it’s just showing me like a clip. I just want to see his player profile. There it is. How old is he? 20. He’s 26. He’s two years younger than Scotty Shuffler. It’s about time he figures it out. I mean, Scotty didn’t figure it out till a couple years ago. He’s still fairly young. And honestly, all of his time wasted at live for the last four years. That hasn’t helped him. It really hasn’t. So, is that how long live has been a thing? 2020. Wasn’t it 20 or 20? I think it was 2020. Yeah. Well, it’s 2025. 5 minus one. That’s four. October 2021, the first live golf in this is this is the AI overview invitational series event was played June 2022. So I think that’s okay. Three years. Three years. That makes more sense. Uh I also just quickly want to mention I almost picked Patton Kazar as my DFO. He withdrew after round one and I would have been very upset with the two of you uh if I did not get points and picked him again for a second time. I think I think you got I think you got the point though, didn’t you? When you last Yeah, I did. So, it ended up Yeah, it was fine. But I’m just saying I was between uh who did I even pick? You picked Duffner. Oh, Duffner. Yeah. And you won. You still got it. I’m just saying I almost picked Khazar and you guys would have thrown a hyit. Why don’t you just go just say to somebody else, pal, because we don’t want to hear it over here. So, I went kind of a random hole here because we were talking about majors and stuff and my first thought is like, okay, am I gonna look forward to the US Open more than the PJ Championship? Cam, I know you are because you’re attending. Every every golf fan is looking forward to the US Open more than they were looking forward to the PGA Championship. So, but I I was looking at the past winners. Okay. Just US Open. Yeah. Listen to all of the like the live players. So, Bryson, Windham, Matt Fitzpatrick, John Rom, Bryson, Gary Woodland, Brooks, Brooks, DJ. Like that goes back 10 years. There’s so many live players. Thanks. Yeah, that’s just I wouldn’t even have guessed that thinking about it. So the two to win a major before they left was or after they left was Brooks and Bryson. Bryson. Yeah. Or Yeah. Well, no. Brooks is Brooks won the US Open after he left, right? Or was it the PGA? I think it was the PGA because he didn’t win. The last time he won a US Open was 2018 and there was no live and then Bryson won in 2021, but I think didn’t he leave right after that and then so he won in 2024, right? Yeah. Yeah. Speaking of Brooks, where’s he at? Fallen off the face of the earth. He’s at a quick stop getting Miller last me. Brook Brooks Kepka and I probably bought Miller Light literally at the same time. I’m just saying. Aren’t those Aren’t those out in your guys’ area or probably the area of the tournament? Aren’t those called come and goes or something? We have come and goes. We have quick stops. I’ve never I’ve never heard of that for a gas station. It’s spelled kum. It’s awful. It is so ridiculous. I remember the first time I took a work trip and we went to Missouri and I had to go fill up with gas. I’m like, I just feel weird. Yeah, that receipt’s going to look pretty sketchy when you turn that in. Yeah. He, you know, he just, he wanted to write the name in his expense report. Yeah. He just wanted to do it. He’s giggling the whole time. Oh gosh. I’m currently searching for uh our guy uh um Brooks Kepka. And it’s We’re getting real down low here. Yeah. Plus 776. Phil Mickelson right there with him. And Cam Smith plus seven. Yeah, also kind of fell off a little bit here. I think there is, you know, as we get more years in between from live started when people move to the present. I think people I think the case is being made that a lot of these players are kind of struggling with with golf. Just because some aren’t doesn’t mean some are not are. Well, just because some are doesn’t mean the majority is not struggling with it, right? But I mean, Phil, he’s got age against him, but like he can still play golf at a high level. Brooks is Brooks is what, like 32, 33 years old, five majors already. Falling apart. Just not there. Cam Smith is also not done. Oh, didn’t Cam won the open and then went, right. Yeah. Oh, yeah. That’s it. You’re right. Um I mean, he’s kind of just 35, so easy now. I mean, he’s So, he’s Rory’s age. He’s pretty much dead, right? I think he’s dead. Can somebody at Brooks and see if he’s alive? Dustin Johnson plus 12. Dustin Johnson doesn’t even He doesn’t even exist on this planet anymore. I don’t know. Maybe the case is there for for some of these live guys. I mean, Dustin Johnson’s probably older than KCO, right? He’s 40. He’s 40. Yeah. Yeah. Dustin Johnson turned pro in 2007. Happy for him. Dean Burster plus six. He’s got over $30 million more than Brooks. Would you ever guess that in PJ winnings? Yes. Because DJ won DJ won other events. That’s true. Yeah, Brooks was kind of just I’m going to win majors and then stopped winning majors a couple years ago. Yeah. Because he went to live. Uh but some notable PGA Tour players, uh Sunj missed, Mini missed the cut, Ricky Fowler, Jordan Spre, oh another live guy, Patrick Reed missed the cut. He competed though at uh at Augusta again this year, so he was kind of in the mix. We’ll give him a pass. Um, Hideki, I mean, he was out there just trying to he was chasing like Kyle Birkshshire speed in distance, you know, on the on the range after he missed a cut. And Ted, have you ever looked at his like driver shafts and like what his bag makes no sense to me. It It’s funny because he has an 8TX a 28 AD di 8x is his driver shaft and then he goes like I think he goes nine but he’s got that in like a three and a fivewood. The driver and the fairway woods are as heavy and as stiff as you can get and then in the irons he goes to S400s. Yeah. What I play which they are heavier than like an X100 but they spin 32 but Yeah. It’s just so weird to see like that heavy of a shaft. I’m like I I don’t know how he is swinging it like that that many times. I would be exhausted. He’s a He’s a freak athlete, dude. All right. What do you think? What What is What is Hideki’s What What would be the most surprising like second sport for Hideki? Like if he was just like surprising like more like like surprising or like that makes total sense or do you want like off either like I guess badass at bad mitten or something? What what if he was just super good at basketball? He’s probably not because he’s a little he’s a little like thicker than than most. Um but like what if you just saw like a highlight of him in Japan just draining threes or something? Would that shock you? Yes, I could see him being really good at like pickle ball. Pickle ball. Batman, something like that. Yeah. A racket sport. A racket sport. Cricket is probably great. Scotty Sheffler looks like a tennis player. Like could you imagine in some like little runners with like the the like just over the ankle socks, the short Yeah. I mean, he already wears like the the actual tennis Nike hat it looks like. So crooked at all times. Mhm. Yeah. He’s just got a little CC Sabath CC Sabathia to him. Exactly. I think it’s probably just his head shape, I have to assume. Or maybe just like, dude, I like a little crooked. I don’t know. Nike hats fit me a little crooked and I still wear them. So, I don’t know that he’s pretty we exhausted the I mean, what else could you actually talk about, Scotty? There’s like he’s won. Sweet. So now we go to the Charles Schwab coming up and you know surprising Scotty’s there. Um I mean it’s I don’t know the the fields I I don’t want to say like the field is surprisingly good because it is still like an off but I mean you got Sheffller and Novak Harris English Mav McNeely JJ Spawn Tommy Fleetwood. So you’ve got some names in there. I mean, straight vibing’s going to be there. So, I I think it probably helps to, you know, for a couple of these guys at least, Scotty and Jordan, it’s in it’s in Fort Worth, you know, not far from from where they live. Yeah. Uh I have to imagine like we’re in the full swing of things like these guys who are playing like let’s talk about you mean Hideki, Tommy Fleetwood, Harris English went real low on Sunday at the PGA. He’s probably just trying to keep things going. Uh whereas a lot of these guys are probably searching, right? They’re searching to to get into form for the next two majors, the uh the rest of the uh signature events. I mean, like you said, Daniel Burgerer, Brian Harmon, Bobby Mack, our favorite JJ Spawn. I mean, it’s not like a weak weak field. Uh you know, it’s missing some, but it’s got a pretty decent turnout if you ask me. But you know what I’ve noticed that’s happened this year is that like even if you go down to like the ranking of like I mean 50 53rd 54th are still people that we know. I mean you’ve got Bud Collie at 50, Bobby Mack at 52, Keith Mitchell at 53, Jake Knap at 54. Like a lot of these people that are down are actually becoming like kind of household names rather than just Yeah, we have no idea who’s playing this week. Shout out to Harry. Harry Hull. Yeah. I mean, I I I think that’s kind of cool, you know, like when when my wife and I are watching PGA Tour and all of a sudden it’s like, oh yeah, that’s that’s actually that person, you know, instead of like I have no idea who’s on this leaderboard. I think that’s the one good thing that like some of these signature events have done where they have freed up these smaller events for these guys to show up and actually play. Well, what’s interesting just just your mic’s not working at all. Oh, he went on a break and now things are falling apart. Yeah. Uh Tom Kim been struggling. He’s 83rd in FedEx Cup, 45th in OGR. He uh his qualification listed for this tournament on the PGA Tour.com website is member of lastnamed International President’s Cup team. Same with the Zayen hoop. Yeah, I mean that’s what they listed, but he had to have been top 125 on the FedEx Cup point. Like that’s how a lot of guys make it. I mean he’s he’s 83rd and he’s still top 50 for world ranking. So, but yeah. I mean, I wonder I wonder how the tour decides what qualification they’re going to list because a lot of these guys have like four or five different qualifications that would get him into the tournament. Teddy, do you know? I don’t. Well, what good are you? But definitely not for a question like that. I mean, I would I would assume it’s just like how like kind of payouts happen, right? Like you’re like in the tournaments we’d enter for gross or net like your payouts are going to the the biggest one like your the easiest qualification is they’re going to take that off the board so they can give you know someone that’s like 130 140 on the ranking. Yeah. I mean that’s my assumption. I could be totally wrong and Tim I know you could totally rip me apart in this and tell me how wrong I am tomorrow but yeah. Yeah. You guys want to know something? You know who plays well at the Charles Schwab? Well, he did two years. Michael Kim tied for six two years ago. Did you know? Did you look at the ridiculous run that Scotty’s had at the Charles Schwab? Yeah. Tied for second, tied for third. I’m assuming P2 means playoff and lost and then missed a cut in 2021. No, it’s just a second. Oh, yeah. So, it like playoff. Yeah, it was a playoff. It It has to be a playoff. I didn’t put PT there. I don’t know where that came from. I’m looking at the website. PJ Tour website. Okay. What is What does Tom Kim’s last four years look like? I gotta go find him. Okay, Tom. All right. He’s only played it last year. He hasn’t played it any other years. Got it. He’s tied for 24. Are we Are we excited or emotionally drained after PGA Championship? Cuz when we were after the Masters and then the RB RBC, right? That was I was going to say I might still be emotionally drained from the Masters. Yeah. Like the the Masters and RBC like the couple events that happened after that I was like Yeah. I just I I’m going to watch I’m going to pay attention, but I definitely wasn’t into it. Um I am kind of looking forward to the Charles Schwab after the PGA Championship. Like I’m not totally out of it. I mean, are either of you pumped about watching it? Uh pumped. No. Yeah. I guess pumped is excited. No. Yeah. Um, I don’t think it’s going to be as big of a letdown as like the RBC was to go from like Master RBC, um, as PGA to Charles Schwab is going to be. Uh, there’s still some decent names. I I don’t really know what Scotty’s going to do, uh, you know, following a win at the PGA Championship, but there’s some other pretty big names. Like I feel like Hideki is probably gonna win just because he played so bad last week. Um, I think he’s just going to reset. And so, wait, did you just take Hideki for your pick? I mean, we haven’t gotten to that part yet, but it’s it’s very possible that that’s who I end up taking. Yeah, let’s let’s I was actually think I was actually thinking that earlier. I’m like, I it wouldn’t shock me if we see Hideki in the final pairing on Sunday because just go nuclear after. Yeah. Like he’s like, “Listen, I just launched 100 golf balls at 185 club head speed like or ball speed. Like I’m I’m I’m good. We’re we’re back and let’s go out some demons.” Yeah. Oy or just like, you know, ruptured a disc in his back and he’s Yeah. Or severely injured. He’s he’s going to withdraw tomorrow. Yeah. I mean, those swings were were violent. Let Let’s get into it. I mean I want to hear Teddy what are your what are your thoughts on this field and who are you thinking for who are you taking for your pick? So I I think I am gonna take uh Hideki. It was pretty easy for me to talk myself into that. I will say before you guys pick if you want like a couple names that I was also interested I want I want to hear your thought on this field. But I mean, you’re at this point. I mean, Ted or Cam and I were looking at this and uh for for the viewers out there, Teddy is at 22 total points after picking up three for the Scotty win this last week, including DFL points. Yeah. And I messaged Justin. I’m like, we’re we’re toast. We don’t stand. We’re done. I’m at I’m at or at Cam’s at 15 which it was kind of close there for a little bit but I mean seven points is big and then I’m at 10. So like and everyone knows that I’m like horrible at this so we’ve just we’ve known that for two years. So Teddy Teddy’s outright winner at Charles Schwab challenge Hideki. But but let’s hear like because you just picked that. So, who were you thinking in this field? Because So, I think some other names that you might want to keep an eye on. Uh, one’s going to be Brian Harmon. Um, that’s somebody. I I hate that. I hate that. I knew I knew Cam would say something about Brian Harmon. He just Cam hates watching good golf. Well, especially lefties. It’s the left-handed part. Yeah, I get it. Um that would be somebody else uh that I would pay attention to. JT Poston uh JT Depose man was uh playing solid play on the weekend for a major championship. Uh I actually like that guy. I think uh Teddy I like your your eyes on him. I like that. Yeah. Like are you undressing? Um and then I’ll give you I’ll give you one more. Um, if you want, you can take it. If not, I understand. Uh, but the other one is actually going to be uh Ricky Fowler this week. So, yeah. Has anybody confirmed that Ricky’s in the field? He’s in the field. Okay. Why Why all of a sudden I I get like some of these picks from you, but of all people, Ricky Fowler. I think for some people last week’s going to be a uh a one-off. And I think for him that’s what it’s going to be because he was playing he’s starting to play a little bit better. Yeah. And his game is coming in for him. I’m not going to pay much attention to what happened to him last week. I think this would be a good tournament for him to win. Or at least you know top five. I mean his his result so he got cut at PJ championship but I mean he wasn’t on fire by any means. He was 15th. He’s been putting together some some decent rounds. Yeah. I mean, RBC Heritage, he was 68th. Valero tied for 30th. Children’s Hospital 52nd. I mean, his his best finish of the year, what is that truest for 15th and then you’ve got the American Express at the beginning of the year, which was T-21. He’s not horrible though. I mean, I guess he’s he’s going to be do it. at some point because he is playing. He’s he’s one of those that’s he’s been able to put like one and one or two like like Thursday and Friday he’s been able to like play pretty well in some of these events and then you know just kind of run out of steam. Um so yeah, add them add them to your sheets. But overall I’m taking Hideki. Yeah. Hideki. All right Cam, where uh where do you sit in this? Scotty Shuffler. I have to like I can’t not I mean the guy the guy’s electric. He’s he’s finished tied for second, tied for third, playoff second, you know, the last three. I mean it’s in his hometown. He’s going to be able to go home and sleep in his own bed. Same with Jordan Spe who the police are going to recognize him. Yeah, he’s not going to get arrested. Like people in Texas know who Scotty Shuffler is. Shout out to Officer Gillis. Um, there’s there’s three guys. I’m looking at the PGA Tour website here. Uh, tournament history, all players, and it shows strokes gained per round the last five seasons. There’s three players who have all one, two, three, four, five categories in green. Mac Meisner, no idea who that is. He only has four rounds logged for this. Uh, Jordan Speed and our guy DB Straight Vibing, Daniel Burgerer. Yeah. And I I like Jordan and Daniel’s numbers a little better because they both have Well, Jordan has 18 rounds logged under here and Daniel Burgerer has 16. Um I mean Daniel Bergner won this tournament before in 2019 2020 season. Yep. You’re about to make Justin pick DB Straight Vibing. I’m trying to sell him on DB Straight Vibing. I think they might already I’m going Scotty for my number one outright winner. You would do that. Take Scotty. I have to. Can we at this point just give me Scotty for the rest of the year and see if I can catch up to Ted? No, cuz what’s going to happen is it’s going to work. Scotty’s going to win like four more tournaments. Ted is gonna pick pick JT Poston or Hideki and they’re not going to make the cut. And then I’m somehow I somehow end up last. So, we’re not doing that. We’re not doing that. So, this this course is funny because we obviously there’s Scotty who has played just I mean outrageously good for this tournament specifically, but like last year Davis Riley, Scotty, Keegan Bradley, Ken, Hayden Buckley, whoever that is, then Pearson. So, uh, and then in in 2023, Amelio Grio, which that was crazy to actually watch, Adam Shane, and then Scotty. Ameliano. Okay. Oh, yeah. It it is. Oh, I think I think he’s Argentinian or something. Yeah. So, it it was kind of off for that. But your boy Michael Kim is in there, too. That that year. He was tied for six. And Rookie Fowler was tied for six that year. Um, I mean, so there might be something to this mention Ricky Fer yet or Ricky. Uh, then you got Sam Burns, Scotty Sheffler, Brandon Todd, Scott Stallings, Tony Fenow. See if I can find like a a So Davis Riley also plays really well here. I mean, he’s won he won last year. He played he played really well this weekend. Yeah. But it it’s it’s interesting that you have just a ramp like I’m not gonna say random, but you’ve got a off-name winner and then you got Scotty chasing him basically for the last three years. So Scotty’s going to be up there somewhere. So now you’ve got to pick someone in which I think you probably did that Ted where it’s like Hideki’s either going to burn the place down. It’s either going to pay out. Yeah. It’s either going to be great 20 under or he’s missing the cut again or he’s going to be on the driving range again. pounded drivers for three hours. Yeah, I know. Is it possible? Can we pick the same player for winner and DL? I I mean, honestly, I don’t see why not. Cover both of my bases. Yeah, I don’t see why not. Just in case. Just in case. You got it. So, um I don’t I’m I’m just going to stay as like close to the top as possible. I don’t have a ton of um confidence in like Andrew Novak going back to back with pretty good tournaments and he played all right last week. Um but I I do think that Harris English can be kind of a a streaky player. Yes. Cameron person in the back. Did you just say you don’t trust Andrew Novak going backtoback good tournaments when that’s kind of what he’s been doing all season? Good point. Yeah, that’s valid. Justin car comment. No, he’s like fifth in the RDER Cup rankings or something right now. No, I I know. But I’m just He had a really good showing last week. I don’t know. I think coming out of major, it affects people differently. At least maybe that’s what I got in my head. And I could You’re going to be so pissed when it goes Andrew Novak, Scotty Sheffler, Hideki, and your guys miscut. You don’t Who you picking? Who you picking? That’s how I feel on a weekly basis. Kim, you can’t change how I feel every week. You’re going to be like, I should have picked DB straight vibing because he’s finished fourth, but instead I picked M. I really like DB Straight Venom, but I’ve also picked him three times this year, so I’ve I feel burned a little bit by him. Um, so I’m going Harris English. Harris English. Okay. I don’t mind I don’t mind it. I don’t mind. I think he’s streaky and Harris English started playing really well last week and he he peaked out in a few weekends leading up to it. So Harris can get Harris English who who said that his caddy was reading all of his putts because he did not know what was going on and it’s been written. All right, Justin got Harris English. Great. Same Harris. It can’t it can’t it can’t hurt me anything at this point. When you’re at the bottom, there’s nowhere else to go up but up. You’re right. Uh you want you want to do We should do cut. Cut and then DFL. Yeah. Uh cut. I don’t know. I’ll say uh one under. It was plus It was plus two last year. Okay. I’m gonna go one under. I’ll go I’m gonna put Justin in a pickle. I’m go plus one. Gosh dang it. What’s the weather supposed to be like here? Wait, does anybody know? Ed, you went one under for cut. I did. I think I don’t think the course is going to be that hard for these guys. Yeah, but I thought that last week, too. Which I thought it was going to be really hard for these guys last week. Yeah, that didn’t work out, man. All right, let me look. So, it was, you’re right, it was two over last year. I love how you fact check me every time I do the cut from last year. Every time. Never fails. You know, it’s just not very What’s that? What’s that? Cam just told me what the cut is from last year. Let me go check. I was literally on it at the same time you were. I don’t You’re annoying me, dude. What’s your cut line? Okay, pal. ski. I’ll go even don’t love that. All right. Sandwich right between the two of you guys. I feel so dirty. TM loves every second. Let’s do the Trump dance to that. It’s like a sandwich from the come and go. Um, all right. For Hold on. Hold on. No. Michael Block and try not to pick an old guy like Corey Paven. Yeah. Don’t pick now. Ryan, like Ryan Palmer, you can pick. I picked him a couple times and paid off. Like that’s fine, but like Cy like don’t pick Cory Pay. Make it interesting. Is this the Is this the course that uh you know Ryan Palmer helped, you know, with the the rebuild? I I was actually gonna ask No, that’s next. That’s next week, I believe. It’s the memorial, isn’t it? Yeah. We’ve had this on every podcast and we can never remember what tournament it is. every I mean we were I jokingly said it two weeks ago or whatever. Uh yeah, two weeks ago there are some actually interesting like fun names in this like Blades Brown. He’s getting in there. Michael Block’s coming in. Neil Shipley’s going to play. I mean you mentioned it earlier, Corer Pave. I mean there’s some fun names to watch. I don’t think any of them get DFL. There’s going to be someone else in there. But it’s kind of cool to see some of those guys coming out. Pardon me. You just let him let him pick. Let him pick. Will Chandler. I think he I think he got me a point earlier this year. Let’s get I think he got both of us a point. Yeah. My turn. Yep. We are going with a gentleman who focuses a little bit more on golf course building, head cover making. We’re going to go with Zach Blair. It might be very unpopular of you to pick Zach. Tyler’s going to be up in arms about it. I was gonna say, does this mean we can’t go to tree farm? Yeah, Zachar, please, please invite us and host us at the tree farm. We love you. Yeah. Yeah. Place looks pretty sweet. But yeah, we digress. Who you picking, JL? I gotta get this thing going. I’m I’m gonna go with Ameliano Grio. Ameliano go. Yeah, I can’t pronounce his name to save my life, but I’m really hoping he gets last place. Okay, it has been written. I’m gonna have to go lay the law down. My son is freaking out. Sweet. Um, all right. Some notable old guys. Brand Sneder joining joining the thing. We got Ryan Kevin Kizner’s gonna be in the field. Yeah. Kevin make the cut. Yeah. I was just gonna ask does Kev does Kizner actually make a cut? No. No. It’s if it’s going to be on the golf course, he’s probably gonna be here. Kiz is Kiz is toast and I hate I hate saying it because I would always root for him. Yeah, I agree. He’s easy to root for. All right, boys. Are we wrapping up? Are we done? Did we do the We’re done. We’re done. You got You got Thor hammer it. I don’t have a Thor hammer, dude. I just got like a regular hammer, ball hammer, whatever. He’s got a little like come and go. Little come and go. Right. Anyways, uh listeners with the Pitchmark Collective on Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcast, please disregard any crazy things that we have said. Uh we appreciate your viewership and uh we’ll talk to you soon.
