In today’s vlog Master Fitter Sam Smith and I are playing about creating ball flights and having a nearest the pin competition as we take a final look at the fake Taylormade P770 Irons.

Are the fake TaylorMade irons from AliExpress actually any good or are you better sticking with the tried and tested REAL P770 irons from TaylorMade?

well only a few weeks ago Sam you reshafted the fake p770 and put a dynamic gold steel shaft in we compared it in the studio didn’t we yeah yeah and the results were quite you know pretty similar overall I’d say pretty similar fake verse real but obviously putting a real shaft in a fake head but you guys said can we test that outside you know obviously get better interaction with the ground you know real conditions rather than inside so we’ve come for a bit of a par three challenge yeah but we’re going to hit three shots each with the fake golf club with wheel shaft yeah and then three shots each with the real golf club just to sort of have a bit of nearest ping com but then discuss anything that we feel yeah see if you know because it would you know in the net I think you could tell with my if you watch the video I was surprised how close it felt yeah you felt a little difference on miss you felt it were a bit harsher the fake Club if you didn’t quite strike it well yeah but in terms of like numbers and ball flly I mean it were quite incredible I thought yeah it was very very similar so yeah obviously now hitting off proper Turf we’ll see what the turf interactions like and yeah if the numbers are a bit different so we’ve got a half three half far out away about 170 I think 170 which is pretty much what the number were itting weren it now yeah so it should be a good uh good test right so we’ll go fake first we’ll go head-to-head so we’ll have a winner of each shot yeah and then we’ll finish off with a real Club yeah sounds good it’s actually 175 from Sam’s bag we’ve just lazed it o that were a bit bottomy and a bit left you’ve got to go fake why yeah I think some could take a lead here think yours was that clean I can use your tea well that that’s definitely took it that was nice that’s definitely took it I think there’s such a contrast between like a good strike in a bad strike in terms of sound and feel like you just said like you do not get that harshness of feel with a real Golf Club deer yeah like that felt like an oldfashioned like we’ve just done a few videos today that felt like striking an oldfashioned blade when you catch that you miss it that you get that same sensation so that that felt nice but then obviously as soon as you miss it your all it’s B probably yeah not as much feel as you it don’t feel as good as a genuine one yeah the when you hit this out of the middle it feels absolutely fantastic it’s just the off centers I think yeah that just feel very harsh that’s straight at it if it’s got the legs that could be an all Oh short do you see how much that spun is as well yeah that was a c that’s a c ra turn you’re online there yeah I think you’re closer to the old are we doing just closest to we’ve got to go closest all haven’t we one each what did yours feel like then I thought all right um did you hit it all right but you just open yeah I just pushed it shook it well oh what am I doing that’s sort of pin left there’s all that green to him at right and I just keep missing it on left that’s straight at It Go K in it yeah bit closer so two on just short right is that three shots each yeah so we’re going into the real one real one now see see how this one feels it’s certainly a better line yeah that’s got there yeah comfortably yeah I got there let me know your first impression when you put that down cuz I don’t if it’s just me but I felt a bit more confidence or am I just talking rubbish uh no I know what you mean it looks better like finish wise I that helps oh steak Struck it just turned a smidge oh that took a big bows yeah I get you I just making sure he W saying it’s 50/50 that one two we need a few more balls you got any balls yeah oh I like that one that is nice yeah got you safe oh I’d love to steal this I mean we’ve made it as real as we can haven’t we we we made this just a head-to-head test we took the fake shaft out which were horrible put a real shaft in but I still think it’s falling short you know yeah I think so oh quite heavy go it’s good line but yeah yeah sure so one up with one to go I think out here I think you get more of um feedback from the sound yeah do you know like in inside I don’t I think you like that little bit of yeah it’s hard to say for certain sometimes yeah oh it’s turning hold that line cake left that’s looky that that was looking very smart beautiful he did what he had to do that was the best one I think we should going to have a playoff on 18th Yeah final shot into 18 we’ll pitch it at 175 out cuz as somebody OB you can hear someone putting out behind us we need to quickly and swiftly move on yeah and we’ll uh we’ll conclude end on a draw We’ve Ended on draw all day we can’t end on a draw some good memories on this all for Sam definitely 170 yards we going oh no oh no he turned it oh dear there not that’s not much to beat oh dear oh that’s nice should be good oh it’s long oh I thought he just stayed up you know I’ll give you that one let’s go and um I’ll tell you what I’d like to do I’d like to wait with a fake Club try and it a couple of different ball flights just up 18 we’ll try and like see if there’s any difference if you’ve got to play like a low draw or or a CT yeah let’s see what the like work ability wise yeah can do right so I’m going to nominate you to get a high cut with fake and real right okay and I want you to give me some feedback on oh do we both clubs yeah yeah yeah okay uh yeah I got re one first lovely that’s really nice yeah definitely high CO well done all right see if this is just as easy probably too much do you want toy I I know that that’s not you but I think just to prove to subscribers cuz I know you can control the ball really well that’s you just wouldn’t have got that with a real Club yeah that did cut a lot that one more like just didn’t sort of do what you want it to do that’s done the same again has it yeah it’s like I said because of that slight I think BGE on the face it does exaggerate like your shape yeah so yeah easier to cut to be fair uh for you we’ll go low knockdown little Punchy Drive shot I’m glad you’ve said that cuz I don’t want mind a low knockdown I’ll go with reel first sh that were lovely that I need the fake oh yeah I mean it shaped a bit more it’s definitely come out lower but it’s shaped a little bit right to left yeah but I think cuz I hit it a bit lower in face I grip down it I just got that like harsh feedback again yeah I don’t know if you can pick that up on sound you know through camera yeah yeah but it’s like a there is some harshness to this is there when you don’t strike it well yeah yeah that’s just I think just the materials used basically yeah I mean I I don’t kind of know what we’re expecting no we’re comparing obviously real vers fake and um you know I think it’s fair to say performance is pretty good for what we you know what you would expect for money I’d say so yeah but it’s just not the real product is it no no so you can’t expect it to perform the same and we’ve gone as far as you can go I mean we’ve stuck a real shaft in there we’ve stuck a real grip and it’s still obviously not I wouldn’t say it’s anywhere near the performance no it it’s it’s okay I say it’s better than what it was with a graphite but it’s still not as good as a real thing yeah well I think that’s as far as we can go with these p 770s and I think like we said in our last video you know if you’re on a budget to buy irons I mean I’d certainly recommend the rout potentially getting a second hand set of irons and then you know with the help of Sam um getting them fitted up really you getting them fitted to the best spe that can be yeah it’s working out what sh you need even if you go down the rout like tooma or some and get the heads and then can fit your there’s a few ways to go about to without having to spend a fortune well actually now you’ve mentioned it I’ve just got a Cali free Iron I don’t want mind you having a look at potentially putting a new shaft in that for me yeah yeah I like it it’s all right but quite light it it’s quite like 66 G stiff yeah which is it’s I mean I’m eting it
