If you want to learn how to grip the golf club better, I’m going to show you exactly how to do it in this video. Now, I’m not saying you can’t grip the golf club strong like Ryan Fox or weak like Bryson or neutral like Tiger Woods. So, today we’re going to talk about a neutral grip, which will help the majority of golfers. When gripping the golf club with the lead hand, place the golf grip in a diagonal fashion and wrap the heel pad over with your lead hand. Bring the trail hand in from the side. Wrap that on top of the glove hand thumb. Now, a grip you may want to avoid is a weak grip. Now, this is where the grip end of the golf club moves too much into the palm of the lead hand. Golfers often wrap the trail hand a little bit too much on top as well. And when you look down at the grip, both creases between thumb and index finger point at your lead shoulder, and that opens the face. Another grip that some golfers may need to stay away from is an excessive strong grip where they grip the club way too much in the fingers. And then the trail hand is too much in the palm sitting too much underneath. And when you look down at this golf grip, you’ll see the crease between your thumb and index finger on both hands looking at your trail shoulder, which will ultimately close the club face. So for the majority of golfers out there, work on a neutral grip, and you won’t have to manipulate your swing too much to make it work.
