Okay, I’ve been talking about what I refer to as the Louis Vuitton rule for several years now, and I’m so excited to see that Jay Roberts at the USGA just did a video on it. His example was a ball on the putting green that you hit too hard and it rolls into a bunker or it rolls into a penalty area, rolls into somewhere you don’t like and you go, “I’m not going to like that shot. What should I do?” One of your options for a ball anywhere on the golf course, I’ll say it again, anywhere on the golf course is stroke and distance. You get to bring the ball back to the location of your last shot for a one stroke penalty. Most of the time you’re taking a drop at knee height, but if it was on the putting green, then you get to place it.
